How do you know the purchasing power of 1 BTC if we don't compare it to anything else?
How do you knwo if you can buy 1 hamburger or 1 mansion with it?
How do you know the purchasing power of 1 dollar if we don't compare it to anything else? I know it because its manipulated to have X price.

Buy an antinuclear undeground bunker with a metallic safe and put an offline harddisk on and trezzor copies on there.

2 years is a very good perspective for bitcoin, all the goverment changes that are coming specially in europe will show the regular population how weak fiat is.

I got some BTC and want to sell them. The prices have gone down too much in past few months. Can anyone tell that when do we expect the prices to again reach 400$+ Also do we expect the prices to go even down? If yes, Shall I buy more BTC? I seriously think its not the correct time to sell the BTC, what you think? well 400 doesn't sound that hard does it?, it could be in 1-2 months or at the end of this year, but it certainly possible This is the year of stability on the low areas under 500 imo. Its the last year to try to stack as many BTC as humanly possible. Let us not miss the boat twice for Satoshi.

You are a highly mentally unstable individual or just an individual that wants to be poor in purpose (ame thing) if you don't have 21 BTC before 2021.

Put a lot of money in recently at 200 it should be a bargin considering this is life changing technology and what the future holds.
How the hell can it drop any further since before all this infrastructure and awareness now how the hell can it go lower
What makes you get the number $50? Nothing, its psychological, as everything in the markets. 50 is around number, its half 100, the other half is 0..

I don't even know what stop loss is yet. I try to limit myself to very few trades per MONTH. And all of them done manually, I dont leave open orders when I go to sleep and stuff like that. Too much stress.

He's giving bitcoin two years to do what? To propose to him? To "go to the moon"? To be accepted by x% of retailers?
What Andreas thinks will happen in two years is irrelevant. He knows no more than I do what Bitcoin will be in two years. What would be relevant is for Andreas to work with retailers to get bitcoin accepted in more stores. I'm not sure that he's really doing that at all. He's doing great things to help people that are already in "the know" but we need the people that are unaware of bitcoin's attributes.
I guess it means two years until the mainstream public gets legitimatelly interested on it. In two years a lot of things will change and people may start looking into banking alternatives.

Bill Gates is a thief and plagiator. Now he see Bitcoin works so he sure have plan to use similar technology just centralised and under his controll. He copied most of his projects so i am not suprised he now want to copy Bitcoin.
He wants to pull a Xerox and create a closed source currency and market it like he did with Windows. i bet they already did. who can tell non of those big pump and dump shitcoins werent invested by a big corporation. there is huge profits there It doesn't take Bill Gates tier whales to pump shitcoins. A small time whale can move markets of small altcoins alone.

One of Bill Gates' mistaken ideas about bitcoin is in regards to transaction irreversibility. The following video is THE best video response I've ever seen to the tiresome complaint that bitcoin transaction irreversibility is a problem. Andreas debunks this claim in a few minutes with finesse. Bill Gates needs to watch this clip so he gets we're dealing with a flexible *protocol* which is programmable and can offer reversals if needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsW_bsFAWgw#t=245This is why Bitcoin is more powerful than anything that has been seen before. How do we get him to watch it? He's not going to like Bitcoin because of the anonymity no matter what.

I feel like my bitcoins are too valuable to do basic payments, it feels like paying with a metal so to speak. Anyone feels the same?

electrum all the way, and i don't remember that you can sign offline transaction with blockchain
I still don't understand how in hell you can do "offline transactions". How can that ever happen if we aren't connected to the blockchain? is there any video that answers this in layman's?

Some data from blockchain show that BTC ecosystem is growing: This chart shows the growth of the addresses and transactions. As we see, the growth of the addresses is quite stable, the transaction is a bit more sluggish, but has always remained around 30% throughout 2014. Remember that the y-axis scale is logarithmic ! In this chart I overlay addresses and transactions with prices and some quadratic regressions quadratic regression of 2014 has strong negative slope .... against the trend to all other phenomena that are growing significantly Even after applying logarithmic progression the trend is broken to down, so we better start going up again in the next months, otherwise it will show a global downtrend in all graphics.

Im seeing all these news about China considering banning bitcoin. What the hell are these guys going to do then?
Continue mining. Nothing is going to happen from the PBOC. China's been banning Bitcoin for 4 or 5 years already, if they'd want something completely banned, they'd do it by now, being a Communist country and all. Well but they are hurting BTC trust specially among chinese citizens if they keep putting out all these ban rumors.

Varoufakis is delusional. There's no way they are going to intimidate the Troika. Plus there is legit debt that they owe to them, not all is scam debt.
|
|
|
But how do they calculate how much BTC do they need to pay? they directly convert it from how many dollar/eur that salary would normally be? What if dollar/eur didnt exsist? we will always dependant of fiat to make this equivalence?
So if war money did not exist and all we had were bitcoins....how do you think they would calculate pay? I have no idea, you tell us. I guess whatever people is willing to pay for your goods like food, water whatever. Anyway thats delusional. Fiat is not going anywhere and people is used to deal with a currency that doesnt move up and down like crazy. I see Bitcoin as gold, not as a fiat currency.
