1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC is in circulation? on: May 30, 2022, 11:21:59 AM

You initially operate with an inaccurate figure of 19 million BTC. Immediately you need to subtract ~1 coins, which is stored on Satoshi's wallet. I can't tell if access to these facilities is lost forever or if it's just being stored, but at the moment, this BTC's don't participate in the circulation for sure. Next, you need to subtract the number of coins, access to which was lost forever. For example, due to a breakdown / disposal in the HDD trash or due to sending BTC to the wrong address, which also leads to their loss forever.
They are lost at the moment like if you forget the seed of your wallet or password of the drive there are still chances that they can be recovered and brought back to circulation but we should assume the only lost one's which have been burnt through OP_Return command as they are invalid now.So there are approximately 4 million coins which can be back into circulation if the owner found or remember their password/seeds of wallets.

But yes if people are careless in backing up their funds with security then supply will initially reduce as there will be very few mined and it will take another century to mine the remaining 2 million coins approximately. But as said by the man who made it possible:

Quote
Lost coins only make everyone else’s coins worth slightly more. Think of it as a donation to everyone.”

Hello,
Can someone tell me if Canadian players can play here, and if a kyc is still required?
If you're able to access Roobet's website with your original Canadian IP address then most likely that you can olay there. Moreover, Canada is not listed on banned-country list.
Also, if I remember it correctly, I tried using Canadian IP through VPN before, and I was able to play (not sure about it though).
To what i think is that there are some games restrictions to the Canadian players who want to play on Roobet but not sure about this and have to check but still you can bypass it through VPN usage but make so sure you do it properly but if limited play games that are available to you and find some fun in them only.
VPN is a fickle thing. You could do one thing and end with another problem and that is not how we should approach these things. It’s obvious that Canadians (or in any not allowed nation) are not suppose to gamble here, which means that you should stay away and find a place that accept it. Forcing your way into this place as a Canadian opens the doors for Roobet to end up banning you and in that case you wouldn't be happy about the situation.

This is my personal view, maybe I just too much of a coward to let my money in a place that doesn't allow me, but why take a risk like that when I could find other places that would be willingly taking my money and not offer any trouble?
In most common way we should avoid using VPN as it has some issues and if casino finds out suspicious events from our account and they come to know we are playing from restricted area then it's direct violation of the rules and as per terms the account can be freezed so players must abide by the rule but we all know how much it's used to bypass restrictions.
1704  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: May 29, 2022, 11:22:04 AM
High rollers are indeed whales or does have lots of money but they are the ones who only know whether they are profiting or not as we can't see their statistics most of the time.

High rolling involves more risk and this is something an average gambler should avoid. Yes, if you have a lot of money and losing money does not matter much, then you can take big risk with high rolling. Sometimes you will win big amounts but as per my observations, most high rollers end up losing big. Don't know if there is any algo at the backend which make them lose or its a just a bad luck for them.
Even if you are having lot of money and you continuously loose it without any proper management in gambling then it's dead end and you will loose it all which is worse. The high rollers have huge bankroll to support their loss but they win sometimes and also play in fun manner but yes small gamblers should play according to their limits and have set budget which restricts them going above it to avoid becoming gambling addict.

Thanks! You beat me to it:

Only here and this time rest can't compete with you man Grin.Saw an opportunity to save this 11k merit achievement of your's here so immediately grab it as was aware that you won't miss it and moreover there are members like our flash @Ratimov who save these records much faster than me but was lucky this time.

I would argue I earned 10k Merit already if I add LoyceMobile's Merit, but it looks much better this way.
So double congratulations on this as you are now second one to have 10k earned merit tag on the forum after our bitcoin geek @o_e_l_e_o who is cycling fast to have big quads. Now you also on the same track so wish you all best.

I appreciate that most of the community values my contributions, thanks for that Smiley

1706  Other / Meta / Re: What is the proper way to address a noun with a pronoun with Satoshi and others on: May 29, 2022, 10:52:49 AM
Most of the people here use he whenever they have to say something about Satoshi and there are some assumptions according to his writing and the known one's which tells about his indentity.

We sometimes use they, them which is also fine as showing respect and gratitude towards single person or group of persons but i would say that we can use any term we feel suitable as the mystery stills remain undisclosed. But i feel we should be more focusing on other aspects of bitcoin development and future plans rather than solving the mystery to unreveal his indentity.

This is internet World and we don't know gender of the person we are interacting here so do we care? We usually address them with name only and use he/she as per we feel about him/her so this is all delusion and we should leave it.

We all are Satoshi's and and bitcoiners who have faith in it and he/she doesn't matter here in the end.
1707  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What was BITCOIN's Launch Market Cap ? on: May 29, 2022, 10:35:05 AM
Hi Guys,

I am Joy, and I am new here. I have been trying to find the Market Cap of bitcoin at launch, but haven't been able to.

Also where can I see the 1st buy transaction of bitcoin.

Hoping to learn a lot from all of you

Cheers
-Joy
As you have been already told that in the initial days of launch the bitcoin prices were merely zero as there was no exchange to list it and people willing to buy it.As simple rule of economics the prices are derived by demand and supply but there was supply only through mining but no demand so no market cap was available for it.But first rates were published by New Library standard on 5th October 2009 and they were site offering buy/sell bitcoin service through PayPal.These were the rates back then according to them :

Quote
NewLibertyStandard calculated this exchange rate using a formula based on:

“dividing $1.00 by the average amount of electricity required to run a computer with high CPU for a year, 1331.5 kWh, multiplied by the average residential cost of electricity in the United States for the previous year, $0.1136, divided by 12 months divided, by the number of bitcoins generated by my computer over the past 30 days.”

So as per this formula and established price the bitcoin was at $1= 1309BTC

Who said high rollers are losing in the end? This is gambling and when we bet we only hope to win and the outcome is not guaranteed win so you are at risk of losing the funds in first phase but if you are lucky you will win and have profits.High rollers are giving out huge profits to them as you see the Rollbit boss has wagered over $1billion which is insane amount and imagine how much the casino would have benefited from him? So as a whole they are making profits from all and giving out to all which matters in the end.
Not all high rollers, but most of high rollers are keep losing, that's why I thought they're a billionaire who doesn't know how to spend his money. They seems doesn't really need any money and just giving away when they won, maybe they're looking for popularity. You can think with your logic, if gamblers mostly always won, Rollbit wouldn't survive and go bankrupt as their reserved money are empty.
I think  what @aysg76 meant is that even though high rollers lose on their bets on any games, i.e., slots and live games... they still get something back. Because of the rewards of Rollbit gave, sometimes it is enough to be considered as a profit, most specially for whale players.
Yes they are getting return also in form of some wins and daily rewards from Rollbit side and besides that there are other rewards also. The whales have huge money support and they didn't care how they bet or loose and the only thing they want is fun and yes they want to be famous. There are many players who bet with so many bitcoins in single bet so for us it's too much but those who have stacked them early at relatively low price don't hesitate in spending them also and taking risk.

But if you say about casino they will be in profits only and this is what keeps them surviving in the market as all bets are not win and not are loss so they gain and loose but out of players only.

Good day, Fil!

I'm planning to translate the untranslated thread available on the first thread but I saw some users that already post above their interest in translating your thread. So I'm just worried that I might duplicate the translation that he is doing. I'm planning to translate this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5156874.msg51545936#msg51545936 to Filipino translation since it will be very useful to my fellow Filipino users. I'm suggesting having a spreadsheet to see who already reserved the translation for the specific thread.

I'm very happy to help you spread your useful translation in my country.   Wink
It's good that you also want to translate the topic in your local language and help the members gain additional information through our bitcoin geek's thread and he will surely tell you about the same.

But frankly saying the topic you have mentioned about resources to learn about bitcoin is one of my favourites topic by @fillippone as it covers most of the basic things a newbie needs to get himself acquainted with bitcoin and that also through legit soruces.I have mentioned this in many threads to newbie who ask for guidance related to bitcoin.I am also motivated with his thread and working on one of the similar thread and will post whenever it's done.So best of luck and hope you translate it good if you get chance.

The forum has witnessed another milestone in merit club and this time our Golden Feather @LoyceV has achieved this milestone of reaching 11k merit mark today on the forum. Here is the Screenshot for the same :

He was left with only two merits when i checked his profile and grabbed this opportunity to make my little contribution in his big achievement. The cycling club is doing great in the forum and they are creating new records each day.So congratulations to him on achieving this mark and setting up another race for the contenders Grin

Although i could edit the previous post but this is something big so a separate post needs to be there for this special record on this thread and would request @OP to make changes and post it in the front page.

1712  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Exclusive games ✨ Try for FREE on: May 27, 2022, 11:27:50 AM

$200 not in a day but a few days to be precise 3-4 days I spent that $200.

Honestly, I don't want to be that aggressive, even I want to be relaxed when playing as well as with fun to enjoy, I know I hope to win but that can't happen all the time, so I admit the game must be fun.

It's true that after I took a break my mind became refreshed again, but I won't be coming back straight away until I'm all set, and I don't want this to become an addiction but it's a pleasure I feel.

And rightly gambling has to be responsible or all of that, so I'm ready about that and its consequences.
Whenever you feel set to come back and bet again you can do so as there is no timely restrictions on this and we are gambling as fun way and hope to win some amount meanwhile. But you take your time and maybe there are some amazing betting events when you come back that can set off your $200 loss also.
1713  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: May 27, 2022, 11:15:53 AM
High rollers are their heart and without them, these casinos wont exist that long so technically they have more privileges compare to a small time gambler. We can only know how much they won but seriously, it's hard to know their total losses so most probably those high rollers are not always the winner here it will still depend on your luck no matter how much you capital is. Rollbit gives more chance to other gamblers to enjoy some privileges via Rollbot, if you have extra money better to have this one.
But if the high rollers doesn't won, why they're dedicated to play more on casinos even though in the end they will lose? I think high rollers doesn't that stupid to use their money or perhaps he have a lot money and doesn't know how to spent lol. I thought small gamblers are the one major reason why casinos get a lot profit, because most of small gamblers are really like to bet on high risk game/underdog team that lead them keep losing.
1714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A BEGININER'S VIEW ON BITCOIN MINING on: May 27, 2022, 10:59:00 AM
INTRODUCTION TO BITCOIN MINING

Some school of thought has it that bitcoin mining involves minting cryptocurrency and verifying or creating a new blockchain. We know that on average, every ten minutes a block is confirmed. This is one of the concepts that support the decentralization of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in the world since no one has central authority to stop or influence the creation and verifying a blockchain.
Blockchain is a public ledger where all the transactions are recorded and on an average every ten minutes a new bitcoin block is mined which is then verified by the miners and the miners who has mined this block is rewarded with 6.25BTC which are halfed at each having. No new blockchain is created in this process so you are wrong on this part. The decentralisation comes as no single miner have the full control of network and each transaction is verified and then included in the block with thousands of nodes across the network.

An average person can’t afford this.
With mining difficulty being increased and mining pools implementing heavy GPU in mining process it's nearly impossible for solo miners to mine bitcoin block but there are some  rare chances

But you can join mining pool and use your hash power mining jointly with them and if you succeed you will get rewards according to it.

EFFECT OF AMOUNT OF ENERGY CONSUMED IN MINING BITCOIN
According to an article written by, Shawn Tully, 2021 states that “The report states that each Bitcoin transaction kilowatt-hours of electrcity. That’s the volume of energy that could “power the typical American home for six weeks,” the authors add. The Bitcoin mining that enables a purchase, sale, or transfer, it posits, uses a slug of electricity that costs $176. That number is based on an average worldwide cost per kWh of 9.0 cents over the past 12 months”.
There are many such articles and do you think they are solely right about it? They are published by the government media to defame the image of bitcoin and this electricity consumption has always been issue to them whereas the other banking sector consume way more energy then bitcoin but they only have problems with it.Moreover if you check miners are also using green energy and it's shifting to renewable energy sources but they will not show you truth and you have to check it for yourself.

EFFECTS OF MINING BITCOIN USING ELECTRICITY:

Radiation from those multiple mining systems emits a lot of radical rays which contain cancerous substances that can cause harm to society.
Could you please tell the source where you have find about this radiation concept related to bitcoin mining as there is no chemical experiment going in the factory so don't know where you have read about this.

And as suggested the more you research about bitcoin the more you will learn about it and having newbie view on anything is not good until you have deep research about it and if you want more information about mining then visit https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=14.0

Hope you understand it....

OP, what can I tell you? That you and your ex are truly valuable to each other

One writes like a chicken with a paw, and the second takes pictures that will certainly not display clarity.

If you are a beginner, then learn from your experience and just accept the loss. And if you're not a beginner, then tear the hair on your head. Bitcoins should not be treated carelessly. I will not tell you about those pragmatic people who engraved their keys on a piece of metal.

Compared to them, you are still at zero.
People have engraved these seeds phrases on metal plates and there is extensive research about which steel plates to be used and how to properly backup your funds here on the forum because it's the only way you can retrieve your funds and if you can't then they are lost because brute forcing and other recovery options are not guaranteed in this case. Moreover there is one image with some words missing and we don't know even it's seed phrase or not.So @OP needs is on his own or trying the steps mentioned above.

Some of the words are I managed to figure out like crumble, liquid, larva, load, Lille....The writing is horrible and the photo quality doesn’t help either. I think OP is a beginner because he didn’t know enough that is risky to publicize your private keys no matter the circumstance.
If they can forget about bitcoin they have bought back then they must also not be familiar with the security steps to be taken and it's one of them.I am not expert in making blur or unclear images visible to read the text but still have done something with AI tools and there are many who can extract the words out of it which is security threat to @OP.People need to take care of funds and have proper backup of seeds at multiple places but they have only one copy and that also with missing words we assume to be seed.

Yes, The Pharmacist is a very generous merit source and he has proven it to me too to reach Legendary rank. I hope he is a worthy candidate in the 10K merit list this year or next year depending on the number of merit he manages to get. I'm sure sooner or later he will get there but now, I also congratulate him.
For sure he has helped many deserving members to reach their next rank and is still doing his job best but it will still take lot of time for him to reach that 10k club but he will surely reach there sooner or later and wish him all the best for it.

So I am back with another merit record to share here and it's for the Discovery of the year @n0nce who has been passenger of bullet merit train and was able to screenshot one more cool record for him this time also :

Getting his timely record is hard as he only stops for few minutes on each merit station and he is now having 2323 merits with him and perfect for saving it here on his behalf.Congratulations to him and hope to see more records from him and soon he will be member of 3k merit club.Excuse me for repeating merit word so many times  Smiley

iirc he was around 1.4-1.5 billion wagered, thats almost twice of what ayezee wagered on the 2nd place. So that would be around $150k of daily prize just by standing on top for each month.
Yeah he was first one to wager $1 billion on Rollbit only as was whale and to my thought he was @MalteseFalcon as his username was visible for some time and Rollbit also mentioned about it once on one tweet congratulating him.On second was @Ayezee who was sponsored but still was half what he was wagering so he was having lot of profits from Rollbit along with daily rewards. But now there's no more such prizes and maybe he will wager or not can't say.

1718  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Exclusive games ✨ Try for FREE on: May 26, 2022, 01:06:20 PM

I'm taking a break from that tension and doing something else in my life to get some fresh air by the beach to relieve that tension.

I believe with that experience, everyone must have a bad experience as well as a good one, but I will pick the good ones for the future how this is for gambling. And it's true I need to try another provider for more luck, after I checked for a while other providers are no less interesting, but now I have to hold back a little to collect money again to play.

I learned a lot and saw other discussions, using the money that was needed, if necessary, it was extra money but it didn't burden me either.

So I always set up my own strategy to collect from that extra money.
The result of my trade put aside a little.
If there is an airdrop, I will set aside a little here.

But more precisely, never force it like what has been said here.
There are certain times in gambling when we are not in lucky bracket and each bet we placed have the same output of our loss and there are two conditions linked to it :

1) You start betting aggressively in hope to win some amounts but that could lead to more loss like your $200 could turn to $400 loss also or you could win some amounts with this but most of the time it's not favourable to go with this approach.

2) As you have mentioned and decided to go through like taking some break from betting and relaxing your mind to come up with fresh mind that will not make you addicted to it and some sadness is also gone and we must do this on frequent intervals when there are more wins or loss also to take some break with it and enjoy outside.

Hope you come back fine and have some good wins on Pragmatic play or any other slot of your wish on Bitcasino.
1719  Other / Meta / Re: Happy Bitcoin Pizza day on: May 26, 2022, 12:47:59 PM

Ofcourse there is a bit of regret on his part. But this historical that he did means a lot actually and im pretty sure that its not the only bitcoin he have to spare. He is a miner and probably have some more than what he spend on the two pizza boxes during those times. I dont remember he mentioned it I think but of course we can just assume it like that.
He was early miner and he made the first commercial transaction and that also with 10,000 bitcoins at that time for just two large pizzas which is worth millions now but he has no regrets with it if we check his previous interviews and he is living the same life programmer life but he is more famous now with the pizza guy.

There is some sort of sadness if we see that way because he would have been billionaire by now if he holds onto his mining reward but we have to use it as payment mode also so it's also not bad if he has done it so.He has ordered several pizzas afterwards also as he was mining bitcoin at that time :

3-4 years ago there were less than 100 people frequenting this forum, and I was pretty happy to trade 10,000 coins for pizza.  I mean people can say I'm stupid, but it was a great deal at the time.  I don't think anyone could have known it would take off like this. Smiley
