1721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple: A pre-mine? Does it matter? on: May 20, 2013, 07:05:27 PM
I do not get why it even is a discussion? The fact that ripple was premined in such amounts already makes it a failcurrency. It's only meaning is to be an IOU ponzi scheme, to feed of other greedy people.

Not sure if I need Slush's permission to call the API but I have limited the refresh to 10 seconds minimum for now.

As a pool operator, I would recommend making the auto refresh interval measured in minutes, with 1 being the minimum.  Most people will run this in the background and rarely look at it, so having constantly up to date information is just adding load to the web server+database without much benefit.  It's one of the reason most pools removed/never added live refreshes on their websites:  Most people will just leave a tab open and forget about it.

Would be nice if slush added a anti-refresh measures. And maybe some other api for "vip" clients, if they so want. If you want to constantly spam refresh - consider a little donation.

Or even funnier method - your current round reward diminishes with every refresh by 0.005%

Well it's very likely our hero knows all about what's been going on despite or because of all the caterwaul on the forums, from me included. No one should expect old payments to be augmented because those on the lucky side can't have theirs reduced. I just want things to be sturdy from this point on. I haven't been mining too long but I have trust in Slush. Fingers crossed.

PS anyone know where he got that nickname?

Aye, tis was a great battle, when me and my mates followed us captain into the depths of a whale! There was a young lad with a powder keg strapped to his fine back...

Come on guys, sitting there refreshing the score when it finishes processing and reporting "LOOK ANOTHER ONE" and ultimately "OH! IT'S OK NOW" is as unproductive as I can imagine, in fact it can only serve to put people off the pool.

That

There were numerous occasions of teen girls facing jail time for making naked pics of themselves.

Thanks for your input at least.

By the way I can digitize your old photos if you pack them nicely. Also repair them, cheap because there's no material costs involved, just my time. Sent a PM.

I'm going ot be honest I think I got paid too much on the block that you guys are all talking about unless I did indeed earn what I did because a bunch of other shares didn't make it in mine seems to be a bit high.  help us Obiwan (slush).

The fact you are wasting your time and nerves to devise these tactics and waste electricity already makes him a winner.

I would've shot that laptop with an airsoft to make my point. Also hard to prove.

Bump for different time zone

Come on guys, at least voice your opinion, pretty please?
1739  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bad name of bitcoin on: May 08, 2013, 05:57:17 PM
Whoever said it's purpose is to evade taxes. I dont think you actually understand bitcoins

You buy something from me, you pay with bitcoin, I give you merchandise. There is no middleman (government) . Therefore there's no additional taxation.
It's not a purpose, rather side effect.
1740  Economy / Trading Discussion / Bad name of bitcoin on: May 08, 2013, 02:07:59 PM
Is bitcoin all about scammers, pyramids, forex and all that crap?

I got in on the prospect of mining, thinking bitcoin is a tax-free super currency which can be used to simplify trading around the globe.
I must say - it does not look good enough to be presented for local businesses. If you visit marketplace branch for example, feeling of complete distrust is overwhelming. I'd rather see topics full of drug/child porn/guns offers, than these ponzi scheme, exchange, scammer lists, gambling and so on...
