just over match between Sinner and Gasquet.
the french player was not bad at all in the first and third set showing nice tennis.
Sinner seems in a good shape after missing Roma Internazionali. There are good chance for him, anyway after this tournament he can also reach the 1st place in ATP.

@aoluain
nice parlays, it seems something funny.
during these big tournaments, players in top ranking are always trying to avoid a defeat in firsts matches... but of course odds are reflecting it Sad

Yea, Sinner is going well, the more rounds he can survive the fitter he will become and obviously
the chances grow of him winning the title.
My two under bets ended up 50/50, one win, one loss.

Alcaraz didnt have it all his own way and dropped a set against de Jong, I'mnot sure if it was the case
with Alcaraz in the match but before hand while I was making the bet I had it in the back of my head
that he can have off times in a lot of matches which allows his opponent to come back into it, but
I went ahead with the match thinking de Jong is a relatively unknown player . . .

Alcaraz winner under 27.5 - 1.82
Sinner winner under 30.5 - 1.81

Keeping it Italian, its busy today . . .
Darderi v Griekspoor
Fognini v Paul
Kokkinakis v Zeppeiri
Coboli v Rune - This is an interesting one, Rune has showed he is very beatable in the last few weeks
Monfils v Musetti

There's another match going on in women's single where defending champion Iga Swiatek is playing against Naomi Osaka. Osaka once an Australia open winner looks no match for Iga who is on a rampage of titles.

Naomi was very much a match for Iga today. She is coming back after a 15 month break
and "almost" won the match, she was serving for the natch in the 3rd set when Iga broke her
and went on to win the following 3 games in a row.

Naomi said after the match that she was happy overall with the performance against the
world number 1 on her favourite surface and mentioned she would like to play her on a
hard court which is Naomi's favourite..

More from the womens side eventhough there are a lot of match suspensions

Gauff and Jabeur are also through to the third round.
183  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Adoption is Growing on: May 29, 2024, 07:40:26 PM
Definitely Crypto adoption is growing, big financial business have definitely got eyes
on crypto.

I remember a number of years ago on the forum there was a lot of talk, expectation and
speculation about paypal and mastercard adopting crypto but Bitcoin more importantly,
and now here we are its becoming more of a reality.

I would also like to add that Revolut has advertised recently that they have reduced
the fees for crypto trading. Also they allow users to buy crypto and then withdraw to a
different address.

Even if we consider what the impact of all the recent ETF's which got approved, these alone
will increase adoption
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 29, 2024, 09:15:45 AM
Second round up and running today and I have decided that I'm going to try a different
bet today for a bit of fun ....

I'm doing a 6 way parlay on some favourites with total odds of 1.8. I dont normally do this
in Tennis but its just for fun with $5.

Felix AA @ 1.07 v Squire
Alcaraz @ 1.01 v de Jong
Rublev @ 1.13 v Martinez
Sinner @ 1.01 v Gasquet
Medvedev @ 1.27 v Kecmanovic
Paul @ 1.15 v Fognini

Also two single bets on Alcaraz and Sinner

Alcaraz winner under 27.5 - 1.82
Sinner winner under 30.5 - 1.81
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's impossible to copy Bitcoin, and the price will always rise because on: May 28, 2024, 09:14:44 PM
to btc78
to CODE200

litecoin, dogecoin, monero can't grow, they are just moving horizontally. It's not possible to copy bitcoin and the chart proves it. The reason is that forks and copies makes bitcoin network insecure, and this forces the price to move up, when the bitcoin

price goes up, the network becomes more secure, and people make profit, and this makes impossible to compete with bitcoin

to odolvlobo

Yes i agree with you, but bitcoin is different because it does not have intrinsic value, so the price can rise indefinitely, Bitcoin has a price but no value. Financial bubbles only form when the price deviates significantly from intrinsic value, and then they burst.

But, if Bitcoin has no intrinsic value, only price, then the price can never deviate from value since it does not exist then it's not possible to form a bubble

Others have corrected this post and I would also like to chime in!

Security - the Bitcoin network has never been breached! Global miners, node runners and we
ourselves give Bitcoin its security.

Its actually very easy to recreate Bitcoin and call it whatever you want, all you need is code
and and a creator who can remain anonymous indefinitely, the tricky part is getting enough
people to adopt it.

So lets say you have created your new Bitcoin, how are you going to get us to abandon something BTC
which is proven to be secure, has utility and value and adopt your copy?

Value & Utility
Proven secure network
Borderless portability
Limited supply of 21,000,000
Can be a unit of exchange
Growing demand and reducing supply

No Timelord its all good, mj is doing the right thing only posting at the request of the
creators. There are many ways and opinions as to how all this could be done but I think
the old saying "expose the product to the risk of sale" comes into play here. We have
to show off the product in order to try garner some more interest and then go from there
to raffle it off as Dane pointed out above.

We are half way there now with 6 works "exposed"

TBH I had kind of lost interest in this project and just wanted it to be finalised as per
the original plan but seeing all the great work they have rekindled the flame to finalise
it with more enthusiasm.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 28, 2024, 06:09:20 AM
OMG - another year Rafa, can he not realise he will be a year older, just a tad slower and
maybe just a tad weaker while the younger ones at the top of the game are getting stronger,
faster and developing their shots into something more powerful.

No more than Andy it will become a bit pathetic. The level of Tennis will be kind of Challenger
level, there he would win tournaments!

On the womens side its business as usual for the top seeds , except Sakkari who lost
to Gracheva over 3 sets. A French unknown to me anyway, probably a wild card entrant?

Also one of my favourite players Osaka is in the second round with a very unlucky
draw against Swiatek! there is a very slight chance it will be very interesting but it might
be a bit too early in Naomi's comeback?

thanks mj!

another great piece of art, well done xSlyy!
189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours / Olympics on: May 27, 2024, 09:42:57 PM
These games are becoming very painful to watch (or listen to on the radio). I think only one of the 9th to 12th placed teams might break into the top eight (and it may be either the Sea Eagles or just one other) we'll see some tougher play after the State of Origin series.

... And I see the Eels have resumed their "relegation" status near the bottom of the ladder.

Its really hard to believe the Eels and Rabbitohs have gone from the top of the ladder
to the bottom in the space of 2 seasons.

Rugby 7's

Last round in the series this weekend in Madrid Spain and in both the mens and Womens
its very close in positions 1 and 2 with only 2 points separating them all.

Mens
Argentina 1st on 106 points
Ireland 2nd on 104 points

Womens
New Zealand 1st on 126 points
Argentina 2nd on 124 points

A lot to play for
No odds visible yet.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 27, 2024, 06:58:07 PM
Wawrinka v Murray - Old rivals! Stan is slight favourite at 1.68. Given Murrays fighting spirit and
how all his matches see to be quite prolonged this could very well be a 5 setter!, both players are
probably at the same level currently.

That was all too easy for Stan the Man. Three easy sets.

Watching Rafa v Zverev now. What a feast for our eyes! It's truly a privilege to watch Rafa play at RG one more time. Quality tennis from both players but Sascha has been more solid so far: 5:3.

It will be interesting to see how far Stan gets, he plays Kotov next, which wont be
an easy match, at least Stan has the benefit of experience and 5 sets.

So Rafa bows out at the hands of Zverev who managed to come from behind in the
second set to win by tie break. It looks like the old timers time is coming to a halt,
Murray, Theim, Rafa, Stan and Gasquet not as effective as they once were.

Zverev has to be one of the favourites for the title!
191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin reach another new ATH before the bull run begins? on: May 26, 2024, 09:25:07 PM
Why worry? Has bitcoin experienced a significant decline? No, it hasn't.
Now the price is close to $70K which means it will actually rally to make a new ATH maybe the end of the year or even the following year, I'm not too worried and just waiting while accumulating if this is still a good price opportunity because if you already know how the rally will regret not buying more.

Exactly, Why worry indeed.

We have seen in at least the last two halvings that there was a bull run after those
events, there is a good chance it will happen again.

We are currently in that dead zone directly after the halving where there is not much
upwards movement but as per the last two halvings this for me anyway was expected.

Patience is key

Blackrock, JP Morgan, Exxon Mobil, Apple, Microsoft, Pfizer, J&J, Nvidia… You name it. All of those big corps have an influence on the politicians. It is not just the bankers or money managers.

A petroleum company like Exxon Mobil owns a very strategic business and people listen to them when they say something. It is because oil is still the dominant energy source for transportation. When they stop digging, the world stops spinning.

Microsoft provides all the software infrastructure of every bank and many other big businesses probably. Lots of corporations and even countries depend on microsoft’s products.

Take a look at the biggest companies of S&P500 and continue with the examples from where I left.

ayup and in the case specifically of Blackrock, they are the LARGEST investment company
in the WORLD so we can be damn sure they can, have and will influence "politicians" to some
degree in order to satisfy their business and clients.

As regards "Crypto" it is a relatively new venture for them and only part of their investment
and asset offering, dont know what percentage that is now but its safe to assume its going
to grow so their influence on political decision makers for crypto affairs should increase too.

Actually a quick google search result kind of says a lot!

193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours / Olympics on: May 26, 2024, 09:13:46 AM
Sharks 0 - 42 Panthers - WTF? How is that score even possible for the top 2 or 3 teams
of the year, not even the Sharks to score once.

Broncos v Titans - argh that was a close one. Jock Madden not to score that conversion
towards the end was a bummer. And those 3 tries from the Titans in the second half in the
space of 8 minutes did the damage.

Positions 5 to 12 on the ladder are getting very congested.

Those pizza pictures look AI generated to me.
Why do you want to spoil a fun contest?
I am happy to be proven wrong by the way,  posting pictures of those pizzas in the making.
Something That would be requested by the rules, anyway.
Not to mention other rules you broke posting here, by the way.

Hmm, definitely not the natural clicks...
Smees like Op photoshopped if these are not Ai AI-generated, But it seems like images are AI-generated or from a very professional pizza artist haha. This Pizza is not acceptable here haha just kiding.

This thread is for a pizza competition.
I think posting AI generated images, or even heavily photoshopped, even without respecting the basic rule of the contest in OP is quite disrespectful of other participants and the organisers who have later to go trough all those not required images.

and its 5 different pizzas too anyway and as cygan points out there is no username, AI cant do that!

I wouldn’t be so sure about this: here my AI generated pizza

The name is spelt correctly, small case “f” and double “l”, something even prominent members in this forum don’t get it right! (reference to actual facts are intentional 😂)

Thats a remarkably good looking traditional Pizza and equally disappointing

  • Pizza must be made by yourself / Only one pizza per user Note.

Discussion allowed!

I saw a lot of people put wieners on a pizza (the stuff that goes into hotdogs, not sure if that's the name).

What's the deal with that? Some kind of a regional preference? I ate a lot of pizzas around the world and haven't even seen it in any of the menus.

There are also pizzas which havent even been baked...

Yes the South African Sharks won the European Challenge Cup Final! That was a hefty win
over a decent Gloucester team from England. Final score 22 - 38.

The prestigious top tier European Club Rugby tournament - The Champions Cup final played
today. Leinster v Toulouse, Final score Leinster 22 - 31 Toulouse.

That is the third final appearance in a row for the Irish side, and the third loss in a row too,
and to another French side.

A lost bet for me too, I really thought this was their year. They have to put everything into
the United Championship now.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 25, 2024, 07:31:44 AM

Djokovic lost to Thomas Machac at the Geneva Open, he still hasn't shown his best performance but his competitors at the French Open still have to be wary of him possibly bouncing back in this GS, especially since he hasn't won a single title and there are 2000 points he has to defend to remain number one in the world.

Yea I watched that match yesterday, Djokovic wasnt himself, he had the doctor on court
just before the second set. Visibly his hands were shaking.

He is definitely beatable guys, the other top seeds will be aware of what happened yesterday
and know that it could happen again to him at RG.

The second semi final between Coboli and Ruud was suspended yesterday and plays
this morning....and then the final is also played later this evening. Machac has an advantage
now having rested for about 24 hours.

I cant see what odds are on offer yet, dont know what way this match could go, could be a
short 2 setter, could be drawn out over 3 sets too?
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours / Olympics on: May 24, 2024, 07:08:46 PM
Well it was expected that the Cowboys beat the Tigers, it was a high scoring match with
70 points scored overall, I will try and get extended highlights of that.

Cowboys needed that win to keep in touch with the top end of the ladder, Tigers are
slipping, I think they will end up in ""relegation"" territory this year.

The European Challenge Cup has just started, we are cheering the Sharks!

Its scoreless ATM and the odds are even
200  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [POLL] If you've joined in the last 2 years, how did you find us? on: May 24, 2024, 07:53:46 AM
While its ok to search for your own site address IRLBTC to see if its indexed on the various
search engines its more beneficial to see if the site is indexed for other searches.

If I search for "Casascius 1 BTC 2011 Error Coin" on Google the first page shoes two listings
from Stacks & Bowers followed by "great collections", ebay, bitcointalk.org, PCGS, Scarce City,
Steemit, Heritage Auctions, Bitcoin Wiki, Reddit, invaluable.com etc.

You essentially are competing with all these....and thats just for that specific search.
I guess you would want your site to be listed for all other collectible coins of note?

A paid advert is one way of getting up the searches but its an expense and I guess as
soon as you stop paying the advert dissapears, I think that is acceptable for sales of
a particular item but I personally wouldnt pay for an advert just for an information page,
no disrespect.
