To get people to realize we are not slaves to the government but creators of it. If we sit back and let things happen the few and the powerful will do whatever they want. If we rise up and voice our will (peacefully) we will be able to shape the world we want to live in...with more equality (where equality is due) and more freedom.

Is not surprising, and the governments won\t be able to stop bitcoin. We have to hear good stuff about this coin, not only negative ones.I in bitcoin, and i believe will become the top global currency!
I don't think it's as clear cut as "governments won't be able to stop bitcoin." Governments can and have done some awful things to control the people. They can certainly push bitcoin underground, which wouldn't be good. But the people control of this too. The people need to elect leaders that support the future they want to see. The people need to get more involved in politics. The people need to find their voice...then use it.

Chef, do you have any original thoughts on the topic or are you just directing select news articles to us. Don't get me wrong, I like receiving the one off news stories but I'd like it more if I knew what your point of view was on each of these.

From the number 1 spot there is only one way to go...down.
I wonder if India will take the top spot next?

Wrong money does not reassure everyone just us who have been raised to worship money there are plenty of happy people around the world who live self sufficient happy lives without the need of paper.
Again you have it wrong just because you have money does not give you better chances it reduces your chances because you become dependent on something that has been created to control you.
We have indeed been bound by money and that is what is destroying us.
Is it that "we have been raised to worship money" or that we've been raised in a society that requires money to function? If 20 of us lived on a private island somewhere money would be meaningless. But you can't very far in London or Paris or Shanghai without it. Your logic is akin to saying we worship roads because we're forced to drive on them. Just because we use roads every day to get to where we need to go doesn't mean that we worship them.

So who's making money off of alt coin arbitrage trading?
If so, are you trading between two currencies only or looking for best opportunity regardless of currency?
What are the funding or transaction hassles?
How well are you doing...give us BTC amounts or % gains.

So Mike is still minting coins? Is it just for private parties at bulk volumes?
It's good news, just surprised to hear it.

I don't understand the purpose of this. What does knowing the continent tell you?
It's pretty technical, but let me try to explain it in simple terms. Knowing what continent you're from gives me a general idea of where all you fuckers are from in this world without requiring you to divulge too much detail on where you're from. Bitcoin has away of promoting anonymity. Just joking with you, it's just a simple question...like when you go to a party and strike up a conversation with someone knew and say "so, where are you from?" This is one big party, I'm meeting you for the first time...so where are you from?

you also forgot Central America
Isn't that a region? It is a region and Central America (from the isthmus of Panama north) is part of North America. Great question, thanks for your participation.

That was a nice idea you came up with, asking bitcointalkers where they come from. It will be interesting to see how well (or not) those who respond to you come from vs., say, hashing power (blockchain.info's mining pool stats).
N. America!
Hey, that's a great idea. Let's compare the location of hashing power to this poll. Where do we find the hashing power source info on blockchain...is it relatively easy for me to find?

From what I've heard the US employment situation is dependent heavily on the industry and location. What industry do you want to work in? What city or region do you want to live in? The oil and gas, pharma/life sciences, financial services, and tech industries are likely thriving. Manufacturing and service industry jobs are declining because they can be offshored or outsourced to countries that can do that labor for cheaper.
Don't listen to people who say, "it's worse than 2008". They likely work in a stagnant industry or in a region that would not be your primary market anyway.

Coming from New Zealand I seem to be left out of your poll.
Sorry mate, I'll make an edit to include Oceania (for Australia, NZ, and pacific islands). I love New Zealand (only been once but it was fantastic). Very sorry to keep you out, thanks for calling me out.

Clearly we need some option to keep people happy. I'm def for an option to select which rank posts you want to see. It'll keep the reading a bit filled with holes but I'm sure the senior ranked folks can read between the blocked posts, no?

Crazy fee indeed.
Are you using a wire transfer? That method of transaction is very expensive. You should consider payment via debit card, credit card, paypal, or venmo....that is if you're not using bitcoin.
Banks aren't the greatest but they aren't pigs. They're running a business, which by definition means they have to earn revenue (and a profit over their expenses).

Why do you think that these facts will result in deflation for the "foreseeable future"?
And since none of us can predict the future you must have a very short time horizon. Ebbs and flows in the economy are common. We're going to need a lot more than a stronger dollar, weaker euro, and affordable oil to spell turmoil for the markets.

That's it, the poll's over with four total votes?!
The US Fed has stopped the QE, there's bound to be some deflation as a result but they can control rates to keep things adjusting steady rather than wild. At some point they'll have to raise rates again, there will likely be a slow down but so much time has been allowed for the US economy to adjust, I don't think we're going to see some major destruction as some people on here are prophesizing.
And if we do see some destruction, buy into it!

Is the payout 900 satoshi per share?
900 satoshis per $20 share is rediculously meaningless...I don't see the value but maybe I'm missing something.
