This gives me relief, I thought the fight would never happen this year, but here we go folks. Per Mike Coppinger, both fighters have already signed for an April 15 superfight in Las Vegas.
Well, everyone thought the fight might happen in May, but nah it's a month earlier than expected. Can't wait for this fight.

This is a very good news update! It appears both of the teams of Tank and King Ry are quite certain that they can promote this superfight quite easily if they remained to keep the date on April 15. It is only 8 days left for February and they only have 1 month and 2 weeks after this for promotions and letting everyone know about the fight and convince everyone to buy tickets and pay per views.
1802  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: February 20, 2023, 01:33:49 AM
@Rikafip. There might be a twist in the ending of this movie if Sam Bankrupt-Fraud's backers remain in support of him. It might become Sam being the witness against those who have already pleaded guilty because the backers cannot allow Sam to be the person on trial because if he pressured enough, he might begin talking and become a whistleblower on a much bigger conspiracy that might include people from the Democratic party, moneylaundering and the war in Ukraine.
1803  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: February 20, 2023, 12:58:34 AM
@thecodebear. You might be correct because if the speculation that Asia is presently pumping bitcoin from the bottom, the Asian traders might be rotating their trades to other coins. However, the altcoins that they might be rotating to might not be the common altcoins where the American and European traders rotate to. If you check the coins in Kucoin, presently the coins that are pumping more than 10% in 24 hours are projects that were created in China, Singapore and Vietnam.

In any case, for the people from Asia, how is the economy in your country? Is it slowing down similar to the economies of Europe and America? If it is not, then I am more certain on the speculation that Asia will begin the bull market and America and Europe will catch the bubble pop hehehehe.
1804  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-02-02] There’s a wild theory that the price of Bitcoin is being propped up on: February 19, 2023, 03:25:30 AM
@Kryptowerk. Agreed. This wild theory is not really very shocking, I reckon. There are some evidences that Tether and Binance BUSD might have already been fractionalizing on certain times to pump the cryptospace. No one agrees when I say this, however, Tether and BUSD operating mostly outside of regulated jurisdictions, if they can be fractionalized, it will certainly be fractionalized. The comedy here is they are fractionalizing above a fractionalized fiat currency hehehehe.
1805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Chokepoint 2.0 (Biden's administration quitet ban on crypto) on: February 18, 2023, 03:16:52 AM
They also use other tactics to divide the people and create a setting where communities will fight against each other to make it much harder to see the real enemy. A divided community is easier to manipulate because they only think that their enemy is from the opposite side of the argument, however, the real enemy is the one creating the division.

I think the problem is deeper than "them" creating divisions. That would suggest that if "they" (however you define them) stopped doing that, everything would be fine.
What we witnessed in recent decades is a massive erosion of what used to be common values that kept societies and communities together.
To not be divided means to be united, and for that, you need to unite around something. If people can't agree on basic values or agree on any principles and on what's right or wrong - you're ending up with a low-trust society where everyone cares mostly about themselves. Such a society is very easy to control.

You are correct and this massive erosion of common values is called demoralization. This is done through the use of years of a common tactic we very much know within the cryptospace community called fear, uncertainty and doubt. The real enemy who wants to create a division uses different media outlets for fakenews, clickbaits and information manipulation to cause the people question their own beliefs. If they begin to question their own beliefs, they are starting to be demoralized. I reckon the Russians and Chinese have been doing this tactic in America.
1806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: February 17, 2023, 03:08:47 AM
In any case, Top Gun is favorite for best sound. I am not quite certain why the Batman is the lowest underdog. The sound effects in the Batman is better than Top Gun, I reckon.
Batman was (at least for me) one of the biggest disappointments last year and I honestly didn't notice that sound was so good ( or anything else in that movie). While on the other hand Top Gun is the epitome of a guilty pleasure. Cheesy

You should watch it again hehe. I also had the same feeling on the first viewing. The second viewing was much better. I had a similar experience with the movie Tenet, however, what it needed was to have the subtitles on to understand what the actors were saying hehehehe.

On Batman for best sound, it had good sound mixing and editing. It was the mood setter of the movie and relied more on it because the movie was always in a dark setting of the night and the day was usually in a grey setting. The car chase scene was very good.
1807  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: February 17, 2023, 02:31:07 AM
@Jating. Here is another news update from Asia and it is another one in Hong Kong hehehe. I am beginning to speculate that China will open up again, however, this time it might only be through Hong Kong then slowly open Shanghai.

Another country to observe where billions will come from is Dubai and maybe also the countries around the the middle east. Dubai has started welcoming Defi and Web3 projects to continue development in their jurisdiction.

Interactive Brokers (IBKR) has begun offering cryptocurrency trading to professional investors in Hong Kong in partnership with crypto exchange OSL Digital Securities.

Eligible clients include individuals with over 8 million Hong Kong dollars (US$1 million) in investable assets and institutions with over 40 million Hong Kong dollars ($5 million).

Interactive Brokers and OSL's aim is to allow clients to invest in bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH) via a single platform alongside stock, options, futures, bonds and so on.

And my speculation is true then, we have seen the price going as high as $24,650 in some exchanged, so it's good enough for me. We might hit weekend that might slow down the growth. But hopefully we can be just staying in this upper bound price so that next week $25k will be in the horizon.

It's going to be a big retest for us, because of we pass this test, then $30k is going to be easy, in my opinion.

So let's hope that the bulls are going to make a push for this month.

You are correct! The retest has presently started already. There is also a weakening of the pump. I have not looked at cryptocoin charts many times since the beginning of the bubble pop, however, the RSI and the price have shown a bearish divergence since the first week of February.

I speculate this retest might show the opposite where bitcoin might create a higher low and RSI will create a lower low. A bullish divergence hehehe.

1808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Chokepoint 2.0 (Biden's administration quitet ban on crypto) on: February 17, 2023, 01:39:39 AM
And here is the kicker that nobody want's to hear. Most people WANT more regulation of things like this. Because *most* people don't want to know or care about how BTC works they just want to make money off of it somehow, and regulation makes them feel safe.

Most people don't have strong convictions about anything really. You can shift their "opinions" just by phrasing the question differently. If you present a question of more regulations emphasising safety etc, they'd be for it, but if you point that the banks/authorities will limit their freedoms and have ability to censor them - they'd be against it.

They also use other tactics to divide the people and create a setting where communities will fight against each other to make it much harder to see the real enemy. A divided community is easier to manipulate because they only think that their enemy is from the opposite side of the argument, however, the real enemy is the one creating the division.

This is very head shaking because there might be such occurences in the cryptospace community.
1809  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will FTX make a comeback? on: February 17, 2023, 12:57:15 AM
I was only saying this without expectations for this becoming a reality hehehe and agreed, it has ended very much worse than Mtgox. However, the negative effect on the price was not the same. I reckon Mtgox controlled much of the liquidity of bitcoin on 2013. There were only few who would catch the dump. The market of the cryptospace today is more complicated. We have Binance BUSD, Tether, Circle USDC all competing for liquidity.

MtGox was definitely worse because of the liquidity being on that single exchange like you said, but in the grand scheme of things FTX was far worse — in terms of industry reputation, potential regulations, etc.

I very much agree. The reputation being the most important, I reckon. Sam, Celsius, Su Zhu, Luna and Do Kwon certainly destroyed it and makes it appear that the cryptospace is being run and ruled by hustlers, ponzi operators, criminals and clowns. It can be speculated that Barry Silbert is also running a ponzi scheme. The biggest joke of this is Justin Sun might really be the most serious businessman among all of them ehehehehe.
1810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: February 16, 2023, 03:31:54 AM
Create the thread! We can do the research and continue the discussions there. This thread will be locked 1 week after the Oscar awards ceremony and it will be better to have a separate thread for different entertainment betting events hehe.

Since I am not a big fan of Eurovision or betting on it, I think that someone else who od more than involved/interested should open it. I may visit the thread but my betting on it sums up to asking my wife (since she is a fan) which country might win and then putting some money on them.

Also, it appears that there is another storyline being created. This storyline is more right wing that endorses patriotism and encourages the youth to be recruited to the military. How many of Oscar voters are right wing? Hollywood has gone far left and this is making moderate left wingers appear like moderate right wingers hehehehehe.

New Top Gun seems more realistic than that scenario, in which a movie of that type wins a Best Picture Oscar considering how left Hollywood is. Cheesy

Beside that, I liked new Top Gun a lot (imho it's even better than the first one) and I would like seeing it winning an Oscar or two which I think it deserves. We need more of those old school types or movies that use less cgi and more practical effects.

Less cgi and more practical effects might create a good argument on why the voters of the academy awards might choose Top Gun. Avatar is the favorite to win best visual effects, however, with this type of movie for the type of movie goers of the present, cgi is not very amazing anymore. It might also be considered annoying because similar to what you said, we need more movies with practical effects.

In any case, Top Gun is favorite for best sound. I am not quite certain why the Batman is the lowest underdog. The sound effects in the Batman is better than Top Gun, I reckon.

1812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Chokepoint 2.0 (Biden's administration quitet ban on crypto) on: February 16, 2023, 01:50:20 AM
Good points but the problem is that the regulations are made by governments to monitor people's activities not to ensure their security. This is why they enforce a lot of restrictions on customers such as KYC which is not going to help with the business owner scamming its users but instead will give all your detailed information and your activities to the authorities.
We see that in the banking system too. Remember the disasters leading to 2008? All those banks were regulated and members of FDIC and yet they ruined the economy and in the end they were bailed out while their "customers" were crushed.

Agreed! Every move made by governments that impose strict rules and regulations on the people are only made to protect itself and those who financially support their political campaigns. I am not quite certain why there are still people who are not very skeptical on the actions of the government. Everyone should be concerned everytime there is a new bill that passes into law.
1813  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will FTX make a comeback? on: February 16, 2023, 01:19:01 AM
@coolcoinz. Sam has backers. I speculate that his trial will only be a comedy show to cover up the truth and Sam will cooperate with the creators the show.

I very much agree. This exchange was not a service that was created in good faith with an honest intention. It was a already a scam and a scheme to launder money for their backers from the very beginning. The name FTX should be forgotten in the cryptospace. It was a horror show that was happening with or without CZ's dump of FTT that triggered a liquidity cascade.

The chances of the cryptocurrency space forgetting an exchange that caused a cascading bankruptcy event is zero. It's pretty much the 2022 version of the MtGox debacle; and it can even be arguably worse — it was simply just so bad.

1814  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance P2P - any experience/opinions? on: February 15, 2023, 05:30:37 AM
...
P2p is still available in countries that completely legalize cryptocurrencies, but if the central bank in your country do not support crypto transactions, you can move to p2p.

Not sure what you mean. Cryptos do not have to be "legalized" at all, they are legal if they're not banned. And I don't think any central bank in the world supports (meaning uses) crypto transactions, nor do they generally have the mandate to regulate cryptos (they usually can issue recommendations).

You might be correct that they are not illegal in many jurisdictions, however, I disagree that they are considered completely legal. It will also depend on which type of project and in under what jurisdiction. Let us agree that many of them are under the grey area of regulations.

In any case, is there someone who is a experienced P2P trader in the thread or knows someone? What they do is very much similar to liquidity providing. I want to know how much APY have they earned versus the amount used being a liquidity provider.
1815  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: February 15, 2023, 04:41:21 AM
@Lucius. These types of developments in Asia was what I was trying to tell you. The Asian market is beginning to open and adopt the cryptospace again while everything is trading very slowly on low prices. In America, they have only begun to create stricter laws and control how much liquidity goes in the cryptospace. I reckon by the time America has opened up, it might be close to a new all time high where it might be the correct time for Asia to dump hehe.

DBS Group Holdings has unveiled its plan to expand its services in Hong Kong. The Straits Times reported Monday that the bank plans to apply for a license to offer crypto trading services to Hong Kong customers. Headquartered and listed in Singapore, DBS is the largest bank in Southeast Asia with a presence in 18 markets.

1816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Chokepoint 2.0 (Biden's administration quitet ban on crypto) on: February 15, 2023, 03:36:20 AM
@pawel7777. This is certainly what everyone in the cryptospace should be expecting. They do not want the cryptospace to compete with the moneylaundering operations of their backers from the banking sector hehehe.

I would begin to be more skeptical if the Biden administration began a more supportive attitude on bitcoin and the cryptospace.

Also, more stricter legislations should also be expected under Biden. I speculate that everything will be banned in time and with only a few whitelisted projects and services allowed to continue.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said she plans to reintroduce legislation with Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., that would extend anti-money laundering laws to a broad array of the cryptocurrency ecosystem. That would include digital asset wallet providers, miners, validators and other blockchain network participants.

The original version of the bill she and Marshall introduced last December also would have prohibited banks and other financial institutions from transactions with digital asset mixers, which are meant to mask transactions made on public blockchains.

If introduced in the same form as last December, the bill would also extend anti-money laundering reporting requirements to include U.S. persons who transact in $10,000 or more in digital assets using an offshore account and require the Treasury Department to do anti-money laundering compliance examinations for money service businesses, the registration that large U.S. crypto companies fall under.

1817  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will FTX make a comeback? on: February 15, 2023, 02:33:29 AM
Someone asked a similar question in another board, and no matter how forgetful people are and the possibility of returning some of the funds to clients, returning this CEX in any form would be simply wrong. Allegedly, some funds have been discovered ($5 billion + another possible $5 billion) and all focus should be on how to compensate clients, although I have no doubt that the first in line are "significant clients", and considering that the largest US companies are involved in everything, ordinary clients will wait their turn and hope for some crumbs.

Also agreed on the first in line are the significant clients. They need to do this to avoid prison and also a hope to avoid a trial hehehe. They might not like what Sam Bankrupt-Fried might say if pressured to a corner.
1818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 14, 2023, 04:51:03 AM
There are many controversies after Makhachev vs Volkanovski match, many people are thinking Volkanovski won the match, and I am sure we are going to see rematch soon.
Now there is one potential problem for Islam Makhachev after Dan Hooker accusing him for taking intravenous (IV) therapy after weigh-ins, that is illegal in UFC
Now we are waiting to see if USADA is going to say something about this and strip Makhachev from title:
https://twitter.com/danthehangman/status/1625041978743455745

I am quite certain that it will be very easy to prove if he was given IV. The UFC can begin by looking at Islam's body if there are pin marks from the IV. It might be visible until now, I reckon. In any case, this will also be very difficult for the accuser to prove. Where did they hide the nurse? Was it Khabib dressed as his wife?

Cameras are always following the fighters everywhere including the hotel. Dan Hooker is very much similar tweeting like a bitcoin fudster hehehehehee.
1819  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will FTX make a comeback? on: February 14, 2023, 03:46:03 AM
It would be head shaking if we witness the SEC allowing a comeback for FTX and it would not be shocking also, however. The SEC is a corrupt government department that only cracks down on those who did not pay them their bribes and extortion money.

Also, the SEC has failed to protect FTX users.
1820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: February 14, 2023, 01:13:45 AM

@Rikafip. Is there a Ukranian candidate for Eurovision?
Of course there is, thinking about betting on them? Grin

I read recently an article on one Croatian news portal and they said that Ukrainians are again favorites (they won the last year's competition as well). Not sure if that ever happened, country winning it two times in a row. Since this is off topic I won't continue further on the subject.

Create the thread! We can do the research and continue the discussions there. This thread will be locked 1 week after the Oscar awards ceremony and it will be better to have a separate thread for different entertainment betting events hehe.

I sent @tyKiwanuka a private message before and asked him if he was creating another thread again for Eurovision but it appears that he was very busy.

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” led the Oscar nominations with 11 and is currently the decisive front-runner to win Best Picture according to the combined predictions of thousands of Gold Derby users as of this writing. The question is, what could possibly beat it? Right now Golden Globe champs “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “The Fabelmans” rank second and third, respectively. “Top Gun: Maverick” follows in fourth place, but might we be underestimating the high-flying sequel?

On paper, “Top Gun: Maverick” doesn’t look like your typical Oscar winner. First off, it’s a sequel, and the only sequels that have ever won Best Picture were “The Godfather Part II” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” — and some might not even consider “Return of the King” a sequel in the traditional sense, but rather the completion of a single planned-out story. Second, “Maverick” is a summer blockbuster.
