1821  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 4, Price changes daily, now 2529 USD for 1TH/s on: May 11, 2014, 08:22:07 PM
You can underclock 4 Ants on a 1000W power supply for cheaper still.  140 gh/s each.

Even then, you're still off ~ 0.8 BTC-1BTC difference between the two options which is approximately eaten up by purchasing a couple adequate power supplies for driving the six S1's.

Like I said, it's a very close call either way.
1822  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales NEW STOCK ***NOW SHIPPING*** on: May 11, 2014, 07:57:44 PM
So I am guessing we should not be expecting anymore retails sales? Just threw a Kill-a-Watt meter on my 2 rigs, they hash at 735 GH/s and use 728W. Shame I will not be able to add anymore of these to my farm.

I've moved onto Bitmain and A1 clones Sad Love my BF rigs, and it's a pity we can't purchase more at a competitive price.

 Oh well.
1823  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 4, Price changes daily, now 2529 USD for 1TH/s on: May 11, 2014, 07:08:05 PM
May I know your reasoning ?
Why not buy 6 S1 ?

It is rapidly approaching the price-point where it will not make sense to purchase 6 x S1's, as you will need an additional purchase of at least two 1200W power supplies to power all six units.

Given the S2 ships for $2094 (after $400 coupon application), and does ~1w/gHs for 1tHs total, it's not a clear decision either way.

Personally, I'm starting to phase out all my S1's for S2's and A1 clones. Would be nice to acquire a Spondoolies unit in short order...
1824  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Should I reboot my Antminer S1's regularly, like once a week on: May 10, 2014, 06:24:27 PM
No. No reason to reboot them at all.
1825  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) Batch 4 is open for sale on: May 02, 2014, 03:35:43 PM
I am curious what is tempting you?

The price is tempting me, as I previously noted.

Furthermore, touching on your points about quality control, yes, I have read that the initial batches had some QA issues. I understand these issues have been mostly resolved in batches 2 and 3. This is why I'm taking the plunge with Batch 4 - I have faith they have largely resolved their initial problems.

The dozen or so S1's I own have been rock solid since I took delivery of them, and further reinforces that faith in Bitmain.

Well, finally picked up one of these in the May 8th batch. The $400 coupon sold me on it... Good price @ $2199

1828  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]1TH Bitmine - 2200 USD Shipping next day - worldwide on: April 29, 2014, 03:34:05 PM
Sent everyones except sbfree, missing a module for your's sbfree so i told ognasty you have right to request refund, otherwise can send you but its 25% less price.
i updated everyone with tracking #.
I have my tracking number you sent me via email but it doesnt appear valid.  when i enter it into DHL's site it says "No result found for your query. Please try again."  please update me with some info.  I've missed out on 5 days of mining now.

If it's any consolation, I received an erroneous tracking number on their first try to provide one. A subsequent re-ping yielded a valid tracking number from Bit-Tech and I received my product about 4 days later.

Yay for Batch 3 becoming available. Boo for pricing not being competitive with A1 options out there Sad Guess it's more A1's for me for the next little while...
1831  Other / Meta / Re: Sorry Phinnaeus Gage, you are banned from using this forum! Trolling on: April 24, 2014, 06:38:06 PM
Sorry to say this is good news to me. This guy in my opinion is a racist and deserves more than a temp ban.
This was long overdue.
Prove to me that I'm a racist and I will leave this forum forever.

 Ok.

Ah, you must be talking about that NIGGER that also hit my niece's 10 month old son three times

1833  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Experience on: April 24, 2014, 03:35:30 PM
So bottom line, that would have to be the best customer service hands down that I have ever received.

I hope you can appreciate that a 10 post newbie making such an outrageously bizarre claim gives us pause.

Your experience is not reflective of the experiences many people on these forums have had. I recommend you dig deeper into the history of this company before praising their customer service as "the best customer service hands down"; I can only deduce that you do not have much customer service experience dealing with other vendors, if you are rating this one so highly.

Given the fact that there have been "thousands" of complaints (my own, included) as revealed in the most recent court documents, I would urge you to do more research.

IMHO, you do yourself a disservice by publicly standing up for Butterfly Labs.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/217190031/2014-01-28-USA-v-Vleisides-Transcript

THE COURT : "Now, there is a stench coming from Butterfly Labs. It's a strong smell. It's not enough to send you to prison today, because, to be quite honest with you, if it was, we'd be talking about 24 months in prison. It's not -- I think it's too close. I think Mr. Bourne did a very good job of testifying, and it assisted your defense greatly. But if I find out that there is this fraud word involved in this part, you know, Mr. Vleisides, as we say here at the courthouse, you need to get your toothbrush and get your things in order, because fraud will not be tolerated, you understand that? So I would work very hard to make these consumers happy consumers who you've dealt with."
1834  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BeeMiner 1T BTC Miner official thread based on Bitmine A1 on: April 22, 2014, 02:35:21 PM
We are 4 pages into this thread, without any answer as to price or purchasing. Have gone from advertising a 1TH miner without any ability to buy it, to now announcing a 1.5tHs product without any pricing or further updates as to the original offering.

How does a plebe like me buy something from you folks now, for shipment tomorrow ?
1835  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]1TH Bitmine - 2200 USD Shipping next day - worldwide on: April 22, 2014, 02:23:24 PM
Yeah, waiting for the next batch as well Smiley Hopefully the next one I buy will be closer to 1tHs instead of the current 950gHs I'm getting Wink

Is it safe to buy from OP without escrow ?

I purchased my unit by paying BTC directly to Bit-Tech. No problems.

Would it be possible to provide us a download link to a RasPi image we can use to restore our units in the event of an SD corruption ?

Have you seen any manufacturer accepting PayPal, in here?

I purchased my Qiangminer via Paypal.

FWIW, if given the option to use Paypal, I would have an interest in purchasing another unit. I'm at the point where it's becoming unpalatable spending BTC to acquire mining equipment :|
