Yes, we still have ample room for growth. But the development of real life applications takes time.

I agree. the Dotcom bubble was anything but real life applications, though...  it´s really weird. in my view bitcoin will deliver what the dotcom bubble promised: aNEW ECONOMY.  thanks africoin for posting this.

Years ago, we found out that the world's biggest banks were manipulating LIBOR. That sucked.

Now, the news is worse: LIBOR is made up.

Actually it's worse even than that. LIBOR is probably both manipulated and made up. The basis for a substantial portion of the world's borrowing is a bent fairy tale.

if ever someone says to you bitcoin is for criminals, please let them read taibbi´s report.

the legacy banking system is rotten to its core.

Well remember that its a trend price. For me btc Real price is around 1200-1600 not more or less. So soon we will see a dump so big that gox dump was pice of cake.

1852  Economy / Speculation / Re: BETI: Bitcoin Exponential Trend Index and technical analysis on: August 13, 2017, 07:18:18 AM
this is interesting... so just using an exponential trend, basically?

yes, but the regression is done everyday only using the data available at that day

We had a big jump in BETI yesterday. It's now over -0.2. As of writing the price is $4080. I think it's very possible to see 0 BETI

BETI for some psychological resistance:

5000    0.085905352
7500    0.49137046
10000    0.779052532
15000     1.18451764
20000     1.472199713
25000     1.695343264

hm... starting to sell smaller percentages of stash @ $10k seems appropriate. wow.

Feeling like I'm going to be driving that Porsche this winter !

I am curious. The guys buying high end porsches, lambos etc... Are you doing it selling a SUBSTANTIAL part of your stash (like 20-50%) or is it something more organic like 1-5% of it?

Feel free to not answer the question for privacy reasons or do it in an ambiguous way. I just want to know if you guys are acting responsibly or like if this was free money that will keep coming forever.

I'm talking about 5 BTC at 5000€ since it would be a used 911. It would be a substantial part of my stash (less than 20%) but more importantly it's about what I've spent getting that stash. After that, if BTC goes to 0, I will not have lost anything, only bought a car I maybe shouldn't have bought.

Currently I've got 3 cars, 2 donated, 1 a company car, I've never even bought one !

I understand your concern, but at the same time I can't watch BTC go up and up and not gain anything from it. I'm a lifelong fan of the 911, it's on my bucket list.

I would want several millions in the bank/real estate before considering buying a new Lambo. I like the old LP400 better anyway, but it's a rare classic car : even more expensive than a new one.

owning a 911 porsche isn´t something you will regret. I got a '76 carrera targa 3.0 and every minute I sit in this car is fun.
the thing is we only life once. better treat yourself with something nice.

someone in the wall observer thread mentioned we are going through the three thousands like piss cuts through snow. this thread proves him right.

let´s see how long it takes to get to 4000  Wink

Humans also desperately fail to comprehend big numbers. Just because doing everything on-chain feels like it's not going to scale doesn't mean IT infrastructure is not going to support it. See the kind of data Google stores and processes every 10 minutes and think again whether 1 MB block size limit makes any sense or not.

yeah, other humans put out bullshit and when they get called, they chicken away.

$1600 you said?

muahaha muahaha

du bist doch hoffentlich all-in?
