Guess that Liverpool goal makes Arsenal fans happy and title chase slipping away from Manchester City.

Not anymore man, It's now 4 - 1 in favour of Man City, that's definitely settle it!

That surely was a very top notch April fool prank from Liverpool to Arsenal fans at large, show me a better sense humor than that, I'd wait!

I'd say Liverpool played it out perfectly than theymos did for this year, but I'd give theymos the letter E for the Effort, It's just Liverpool prank for this year, nothing else comes close, imo.

Yeah 16 games. Chance to take all Slam points but I went for broke and predicted plenty of upsets, just only the first one not going too well. Had Salah made the pass properly to Jota minutes before we conceded, could have been a different half but we are living dangerously.

Re Liverpool partnership, yeah I think they mulled the possibility at one point but that's probably different now with values and direction and all that. I do sort of miss Carlsberg for some reason heh heh.

Only one I ever worn is stuff I bought at Anfield but it has become so threadbare it is just a black tee now.

BTTS was the surest thing today and it hit before 30 mins. COYR!

I've always knew you're just a blatant spammer, that supports Liverpool.

I do hope you're enjoying the game man, there's nothing more suiting than knowing, I'm going to get a win over you in the question about the match, more so with Liverpool on the losing end after a supposedly great goal to take the lead Tongue Tongue Tongue

Based on cryptofrka's post (and it looks right to me), I guess I won the NBA question... 2 points for me as got 4 right but all in wrong positions, 1.5 for Harko, but let's see if the numbers add up. I did sense Giannis wouldn't get the top score as he was injured and didn't play the previous game. Wonder who got the most points from this tough question... I see famosos and slam got Tatum and Brown spot on!

I'm sure you're familiar with the phrase "glitch in the matrix" ? That's what this is, Boston Celtics lost to Washington Wizards a night before looking very mediocre, and Milwaukee Bucks putting up huge numbers in their of fixture, especially Jrue Holiday with 50 points and Giannis with a triple double, just one night after it was the complete opposite happening 🤦🏾‍♂️
1884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 31, 2023, 05:40:10 AM

Nuggets vs Pelicans too; I'm not tossing any money either way, but there is speculation of Jokic not suiting up for tonight, that void can't be filled and as such, I might lean a bit more towards New Orleans Pelicans.

Since he didn't play, the line movement has been quite volatile. I believe this will lead to an easy win for the Pelicans, as they are in desperate need of a win. The home team has already secured the number 1 spot in the West, so there's no need for them to push too hard. This game may be a relatively relaxed affair, providing the Pelicans with an opportunity to improve their ranking.

You're right, it was the Pelicans who won the game, and it wasn't even close. In fact, the Nuggets recorded their lowest score of the season with only 88 points, which is significantly lower than their average. This shows that the Pelicans' defense was very effective in limiting the Nuggets' scoring opportunities.

I had a feeling that would be the outcome, and because of it, I had a decent win on this game. CJ McCollum's outside shooting and Ingram's mid-range shooting were crucial factors that helped the Pelicans secure the victory. They controlled the game and even held a lead of as much as 19 points. Although the Nuggets made a bit of a comeback, the Pelicans started another run in the fourth quarter that left the Nuggets with no chance to catch up.

I saw that coming, of course! but then Denver Nuggets lost every single quarter of the game, so it was a complete disaster for them, even if Jokic wasn't available for the game, Nuggets should at least be competitive, they looked very lost from the 1st Quarter, I understand there isn't much to lose for Denver Nuggets but that was an utter shit show from them, so much for me staying up late to watch the game.

Boston Celtics also blew out the Milwaukee Bucks tonight.

Ironically, it was Celtics losing to the Washington wizards awfully yesterday, and Milwaukee Bucks running rampage against Indiana Pacers and all their starters did really good numbers, Giannis with a triple double and Jrue Holiday with whooping 50+ points, but today they were humbled and brought back to earth with an efficient defense. Both the Bucks and Denver Nuggets loss tonight were the worse either team have succumbed to so far this entire season.

I've been working on my team the last week or so and i think i'm ready with my transfers until GW37.  Shocked  Lol

Bench Boosting this week but undecided on the captaincy, slightly in favor of a Brighton mid over Rashford though, can't overlook that BOU fixture.

Will only have 10 in BGW32 but other than that my team looks solid. 8 or 9 doublers in DGW34 plus double Newcastle defense (vs SOU at home). 5 or 6 doublers in GW36 (if NEW/BHA is on). Will have all the popular names for DGW37, and all that without taking any hits. Well, at least that's the plan...i'm sure we will have injuries/suspensions and whatnot to deal with but it's good to draw a blueprint for what you want to do long-term.

I also have an idea of what my team would look like until around Game Week  36, but I would have to take some point hits and this is due to the transfers I lost, I'm still waiting for each team's press conference later today before making the final decision.

I will probably need to ship Haaland out temporarily if he's not going to be available for the match against Liverpool, because I have an alternative I really could use for that third man forward option for.
1886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 30, 2023, 11:51:44 PM
I honestly have no idea who will win between the Bucks and Celtics. Giannis is playing great at the moment which makes the Bucks pretty unstoppable, but the Celtics are one of the best teams in the league so it’ll be a great show. Glad it’ll be on TNT. Then the second game between the Nuggets and the Pelicans I feel a little better about the outcome being a Nuggets victory, but it’s basically a must win game for the Pelicans so they’ll be giving it their all… I think I’ll refrain from putting any money behind guesses tonight.

Looking at the line up, Marcus Smart performance have dipped a lot imo over the past two months or thereabout, and Celtics might need to rely a bit on their bench players contribution which Derrick white and Malcom Brogdon have contributed a lot to their form this season, but hopefully we'll get the DPOY performance tonight or he's saved it for the post season.

Nuggets vs Pelicans too; I'm not tossing any money either way, but there is speculation of Jokic not suiting up for tonight, that void can't be filled and as such, I might lean a bit more towards New Orleans Pelicans.

How about the games tomorrow?

It's only 2 games but 1 of them is a must see battle, it's between the Bucks and the Celtics. Holiday just had a huge game against the Pacers with 51 points, (not sure if this is his career though). I'm still not decided as to who to beat on this game.

On the other game, it's the Nuggets vs the Pelicans, I might go with the Nuggets here at handicap.

That 51 points he made versus the Indiana Pacers was indeed Jrue Holiday's career high, and that performance he made got me interested because I'm looking forward to him -seeing if he can still duplicate his performance or even retain the energy later against the Boston Celtics.

In-fact I will bet on their favor -3 because I got this feeling that Khris Middleton and Jae Crowder might return as well because they are upgraded to be probable as of now. This will be a good game to see, a battle of two giants in the East.

I really don't the match against Indiana Pacers should be a metric of what should be expected here, I'd really fancy the Milwaukee Bucks too, but we all know how twisted this match can be, it often deviates away from the major expectation and it's sometimes always dependent about how the Celtics defense is setup to limit Giannis and neutralize Jrue, that's a daunting tasks but the Celtics are team have had a couple success doing, and the Celtics getting out by washington wizards would be form of wake up call for them too, I guess.

I'm taking the -3 on Bucks too, but I'm interested in the match itself because I don't much on the line for the match.

It's more important questions what could happen to player who missed to answer few rounds of question and becomes inactive in forum?
One round miss can happen to everyone, but I think missing more rounds should be punished somehow, it's not enough just to give someone zero points.
Same thing would happen in real sport competitions.
I know we have that one in the rules Smiley Basically if somebody misses three rounds he is out, we are not counting those late entries when someone misses a question or two in these stats.

Code:
If you fail to participate in more than 3 rounds in a season, you will be removed from your league and will be able to rejoin from the lowest Division next season, if there is space left.
This is decided because we want to make the competition fair to everybody - if you don't play often, some opponents get easy points while others do not.

I would have supported notblox1's idea too, without think about how it affects the league at large, but after reading the last part of your post it makes perfect sense, and I could only further suggest that if someone's opponent didn't participate in a around specific round, given the significance that the points difference (points for - points against) could make in the leaderboard, wouldn't be better to award such user a default win 3 points for the win but 0 for points difference, while their answers would still count towards the weekly freebet and any other brought forward h2h, but they just wouldn't get the points difference, it might seem quite unfair if they for instance get all 10 questions correctly, it will be more unfair to the rest of the players for someone to get 10 unopposed point difference.

For those of you who predicted Liverpool would fail to score, I want to reassure you that it is still possible. Nevertheless, I also want to point out that this weekend will mark the first time this season that Liverpool's full front line will be fully fit and available  Grin

Code:
Diaz, Jota, Firmino, Darwin, Salah.... All fit and available

I'm not sure about the game outcome but Liverpool scoring a goal is POSSIBLE.

Liverpool would probably score this weekend, and that's solely because they're facing Man City, If they were playing a different team, I would have been less bothered. Liverpool midfield is shambles, but they'd not be needing the midfield to catch Man City on the break, because City's defence have been porous and inconsistent, but then City win should be an easy call against Loserpool ✌🏾

Thinking of giving March captain band but will probably stick with Rashford in the end.

isn't Rashford still under question for a weekend?

didn't checked my team for ten days now, so will be a challenge to see what to change, definitely will try to use players from teams that play two matches, although Arsenal has one match, but could end-up with goals

used Free-Hit and lost two free transfers, learning by doing wrong, thought that those two free transfers will remain for next game week, but that didn't happen

It cost both my wild cards and Free Hit to learn two different lessons this season, first is losing 2 transfers to the Wild card, and these are transfers that would have been of better use the previous week, at least to some minor advantage. Secondly, I was trying to play smarter when using my free hit, I first made 2 transfers using my free transfer and then later another that cost 4 points and after all these transfers went successfully, I saved my team and used my free hit later with the hope that my team would revert to the one I had just before I activated the FH, but instead It reverted back to the initial team and two transfers were lost yet again 😒

Lots of games to pick from. A long parlay seems to be difficult to win too because of the high spreads.

And inconsistencies is at all time high right now, even for the over/under choices that I used to prefer aren't what they used to be, I didn't expect Houston Rockets vs Brooklyn Nets to much of an issue for the Nets to win convincingly, but it was a very close game until the final quarter, and significant lead changes, Teams with relatively nothing left to lose from the season are now doing pretty much better, some tipped regular season conference winners and potential championship candidates finding it hard to see off teams already eliminated from the playoffs berth places, though times for bettors.

The winner(s) of the Round 29 Yellow Cap will also win:
Choice of Arsenal or Southampton Shirt AND Hoodie + Hat combo  Cool

The Southampton Black is a masterpiece. My favorite.

I've always had several of those Sportsbet shirts too, and a couple of those Watford scarfs, which were my favorite, but for these ones listed, you can call me a little princess all you like but my favorite would be the Arsenal's pink shirt.

And one thing that shows it's mostly the club and not really the manager is Tuchel's take over at Bayern.  Now why would they hire Tuchel after him having a so so time at Chelsea?

And the irony is that it's always matter of time too! The cycle usually returns, and that's why Ancellotti is currently is having is second spell at Real Madrid, while Zidane have also done the same, how many spell have Mourinho also had at Chelsea ?

At the end of the day, there are so such thing a terrible manager, just a terrible spell, but these terrible spells just tend to last longer than each other.

Tuchel that won the UCL for Chelsea without a transfer budget and couple of so-called-mediocre players "assembled" by Lampard, all of sudden has blank cheque but couldn't put a team together ?

Guardiola is considered as one of the greatest Barcelona coaches, and probably the best of the Modern Era Barcelona as he was said to have brought about a revolutional squad, but the team probably wouldn't have reached its peak If there wasn't a supposed one of the biggest transfer blunder of all time, which was the sale of Samuel Eto'o + €45 million for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Inter Milan went on to win the treble that season with Barcelona losing to Mourinho's Inter Milan in the UCL Semi final that season.

Ibrahimovic spent just one season at Barcelona, from being loaned to a permanent sale, I'm sure that must have been one of what prompted Real Madrid to move on him, but then what Mourinho's fate under Real Madrid vs Guardiola's Barcelona, I'm sure the numbers must be surreal.

Just few hours after my previous post here, Tsitsi-pass decided to pass on ATP Miami tournament 😒; Just a question if both opponents picks do not make tennis finals, does the player that advances the most in the tournament gets the advantage in the H2H question?
Nope. We are grading only your answers in final. So you can get from 0 to max 3 points in your H2H duel.

Oh, alright..

That means Medvedev still have 2 chances, one in the quarter-finals and the semi-finals he had better not let me down  Wink

About Mctomminay, what a guy, he is a butcher but also have a lot of goals scored. When i put 1/2 goalscorer from the same team i never was thinking about Scotland and less about him  Grin

That makes two of us, I wasn't even really in onto this international fixtures, If anyone had even asked me McTomminay's nationality, I wouldn't have remembered he's Scottish, and that's if even had any idea to begin with, but I know what the squad's options are with Sabitzer out and Eriksen barely an option, and Garnacho can't be an option either.

MCTommmy is single-handedly cooking Spain...... that's a guaranteed stating lineup for him against Newcastle this weekend!

Hahah, exactly what I thought. I have him in there.

Time for me to reveal my ideal starting lineup against Newcastle. The only positions where I think there might be some difficulty are the RB (Wan-bissika vs. Dalot) and right wing (Anothy vs. Sancho). I chose both wan-bissika and Antony because they have both recently been playing a lot more minutes than the other two.

Code:
Degea, Wan bissika, Varane, Martinez, Shaw, McTommy, Fred, Antony, Bruno, Rashford, Weghost.

Rashford and Varane are back to full training.

I really can't guess Erik Ten Haag thought process, but I don't think he'll want to risk Varane this soon, so I went with Maguire since, Maguire played in the international matches so it gives better chances of being match fit, of course, I know ETH doesn't like Maguire, but with Man United playing twice in 3 days and the other match is supposedly a home fixture against Brentford, I want to believe Brentford and Newcastle looks to be of equal threat or form right now and Varane wouldn't be rushed to play. I couldn't pick another to pair with Fred and McTominay, so I went with Bruno, while having Rashford, Sancho and Anthony all upfront, also because I couldn't settle for just one of Sancho and Anthony for Werghost, because Rashford is also still a doubt for the game, and if he doesn't play that leaves room for both Sancho and Anthony to start, I guessed Rashford would be favourite pick so if he doesn't play, I have little to lose and If he does and then I'm sure I'd also have one of Anthony or Sancho right, perhaps as have been the case recently, so deciding between Sancho or Anthony for Werghost doesn't seem necessary to me.

Best of luck anyways mate.

I didn't even bother check if either of the tennis finalists I picked were supposed to have a match before the end of the deadline, lol, that'd be some blow and disadvantage if one of them is out already.

P.S. Guys, almost every week we get tennis questions, it's all good, but please show some lover for WTA Wink.
Really? You would prefer to toss a coin to write finalists instead of looking at the draw and picking 2 players in best form at the moment?

Just kidding but as a mental excercise I invite you to answer the same question but for WTA here in the thread. I am thinking that same question on WTA side is way more difficult. I will try as well.

Rybakina-Sabalenka, Sabalenka

Despite not being a tennis fanatic nor place bet on it often, I'd say I prefer it to having to guess Man Utd starting XI for Sunday game week versus Newcastle, and I think I'd have done pretty well in the previous questions, if they had counted especially the one including the semi-finalists.

That said, it took me way longer than I expected to come to a conclusion on certain amount of questions, and that's with knowing my opponent, the toughest question had to the Man United XI, knowing what I know about the current players available, and my perceived Ten Haag's preference as a coach too literally didn't help matters.

The women UCL 2nd leg fixtures is another crazy one, that was just a coin flip versus settling for a wider margin or just pure guessing living it at the hands of fate, if there is anything as such.

NBA prediction is still easier for me to choose from imo, less than 70% sure on that, but then I'd fancy my chances.

Finally, Dallas won a game, and it was a great victory as they won by double digits. I hope to see them continue to play with good chemistry, especially against good teams. If they keep losing, they risk being in the play-in tournament, which could hurt their chance of making it to the playoffs.

The spread was -7.5, and it was covered well. Congratulations to the winners.

I would say it's been come all along, after Luka Doncic had what would have been is 16th Technical Foul of the season and kept out of the was rescinded, It knew it was going to be a walk in the park for the Dallas Mavericks who had obviously struggled in their last 4 matches, Luka Doncic complain to the referee tip-off to the final buzzer usually doesn't help his case, and that's where most of his Ts had stem from more so deservedly, but it would have cost his a great ordeal had the decision stood, although I had no idea why he got T'd in that game, I watched every minute of the game, he could gotten in other instance, but he hadn't made any gesture to have warranted the T, hence why the league had to take another look into it.

I don't know what the bookies expected of a Pacers team, with Haliburton, Buddy Hield or Myles Turner to have overrated them that much, perhaps it due to the Mavericks recent struggles, rather than how difficult the Pacer were expected to be.

After my infamous victory in the last round, I really want to feel confident going into this round, but then I can't afford to get complacent for any reason, knowing what I know about my opponent and then there's an H2H duel the person, hand me my a** a few rounds ago, but then finally there is a NBA question, so the term all inclusive sport for the competition seems to very appropriate imo now.

So many question with no logical way to pick an answer, and my opponent is often quite illogical, I really don't know where that leaves me, a pathetic overthinker  Sad
