How many matches will NOT go the Full Distance: 8
1962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: March 01, 2023, 12:51:31 AM
Any good news from Liverpool fans about Darwin? Was it flu or cold, and is he in contention to play on Wednesday? I have so many questions, but I need answers. The destiny of my team rest on his shoulder.
I transferred him in knowing about injury but I thought it was nothing serious if he played that CL match. Unfortunately I don't see Klopp risking him so soon now that he has some other attacking options back and after he was not even on bench last time.

Yeah, I gambled w Nunez and it didn't work out, for reasons absolutely out of our hands (or shoulders). Apparently he can't even move the arm now, don't think he should have been playing!

I know it's an early question to ask for MD26 but I'll get Rashford back in my team (I used FH chip). So... Rashford v Liverpool = more points in the bag for believers and more misery for the Reds? Or do I be stupid and weed out United in favour of Salah + co?

If Darwin Nunez doesn't play tomorrow, it would amount to almost a triple lost for me, especially If I have to bring in Trippier back after their tough run of fixture or ahead off their double gameweek, because I had Olie watkins who eventually scored, but to get Nunez in I had to trade Trippier for the cheaper Coleman to bring Nunez in for watkins, and at least I would have gotten points from the player that rendered my Everton triple defense lineup pointless. Salah probably stays on for me, De Bruyne is seemingly injured, and Salah with no other form competition to play in than to save Liverpool season would be better choice to KDB imo.

Some stranges games today, Barca and Sevilla making a mess.
How now can the team head into the Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Madrid during the midweek with high spirit ? it's already bad enough that the team is plagued with one injury or the other, playing with a low morale or depleted team spirit is the last thing Barcelona can afford right now, or they could go as far as even losing this the league despite being in a commanding position.

Whoa, I totally missed that result! Hope the odds weren't too crazy for Almeria, or I'd be in regret mode now. Seems like United didn't just beat the stuffing out of them, but the spirit. Atletico already did a huge favour and this is how they repay them.

Absolutely right now that the momentum's turned in the next El Clasico... Real's Whatsapp group apparently got new life after the result (Daily Mail, don't ask me why I read that!).

The odd as expected were in favour of Barcelona, but not on the extreme, I think Almeria was offered about 6 odds or there about, so I'm not sure that would have been tempting enough to back the underdogs in this case, given they were on 3 game losing streak themselves as well.

I think Xavi is partially responsible for the loss, he totally undermined Almeria and it came back hunting him, he had players like Raphinha, Jules Kounde and co on the bench, and went with a formation that would dominate the entire ball possession rather than been terrific in attack and on the break, it worked out pretty well for him, Barcelona had at least 72% of the ball, but had just a single shot on goal, mission accomplished in the end right ?

I've submitted my predictions for the third round already, It's not an easy one still, but it's much less complicated than the previous round, there could be quite a lot of draw in this one since there is none of those H2H duel questions.

I'm facing the Jeremypwr this time around, when does the fixture even get easier, there seem to be no easy opponent in the first division, these guys know their sports Huh  Sad

Atletico its totally cursed against Real.

And it was most typical Madrid derby. Not most beautiful game. Many yellow cards, already in 1st half, sent off. This time Simeone's strategy worked. Now it's time for Barca to make +10

Yeah, Xavi better send him some good wine regardless. Wonder if it's also Simeone's last derby. Feels weird to say but the club almost feel like they're ready to let him go. I'm not a fan of his and his football is just awful but I can't deny he made the club in his image and they have titles and trophies to show for it.

Who wants to play beautiful football and win nothing right?

Some stranges games today, Barca and Sevilla making a mess.

I could careless with Sevilla losing for all they want, I don't have any money or emotions attached to the match, but I'm rather more upset with Barcelona losing the match against Almeria, and failing to extend the lead against Real Madrid to 10 points, now it's just a 7 point lead and Barcelona second consecutive loss in just a few days in all competition.

Freebet winners for this round are:
Division 2 - vd309 (20$)
Division 3 - mv1986 (10$)
Division 1 - Harkorede and cls63 both have 7 points. In the next round whoever gets more will win a 30$ freebet.

How is the free bet point calculated? I and my opponent scored 5:5 equal point for this game round though. Can someone enlighten me.

How's is the tennis game going? It's taking forever  Grin

Cryptofrka already helped out on your question regarding the freebets already so there is no need to repeat it here.

As for everyone waiting for the Tennis game to be over, the game just finished and it's with my pleasure to announce to you that Alcaraz lost the finals to world no. 13, Norrie 2-1... So if that's all left to decide your tie, then there you have it...

I'm pretty surprised to have done quite okay ishh for this round because, I literally just put in my picks without any form of research because I had to in a hurry as I expected to busy for the next day and most part of the week with the national elections holding in my country, amongst other troubles and commitments.  As it was obvious I was the first person to submit my predictions according to the answers spreadsheet.

Just looking forward to my next opponent  Cheesy

If this announced lineup actually starts I think I got 9 correct Grin

The Alcaraz - Norrie game will be interesting to track, I feel that a lot of matchups will depend on that one. Alcaraz is a favorite, but 1 dropped set might make all the difference.

I got about 8-9 correctly of the starting XI too, I knew Loftus-Cheek vs Kovacic was a coin toss imo, but Sterling and Ziyech, over Mason Mount and Mudryk isn't what I was expecting ngl.

Alcaraz should just lose this game and do the entire world some good Undecided Undecided
1968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 26, 2023, 02:13:03 AM
Of course if they make it to the Champions League title it would still be great for them. But they need to keep doing their best in the La Liga as well to still have their mathematical chance at least.
If Barcelona beats Almeria tomorrow they will go 10 points ahead of Real madrid, it is a big advantage for Barcelona but there are still many matches remaining, and Real madrid still has a chance to get back, though it is going to be so difficult. Barcelona are in a good moment, they have been eliminated from the Europa league so they can concentrate on the La Liga and Copa del rey tournaments, and if they can win the both of them, it is still a successful season. Xavi would not be evaluated based on his team's performance in the champions league and in the Europa league, winning the La Liga alone would be so great for them this season.

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are doing everything possible to make sure Barcelona win the league this season after all, lol. I really don't know if I would consider the season a success for Barcelona if they're only able to win the league, because it was embarrassing enough, to have been eliminated in the group stages of the UCL by Benfica, but we couldn't go further than the round of 32 in Europa League as well. Should the team win against Almeria today and go 10 points clear, that's surely a done deal for the league, since there is no other competition to prepare for, as I don't find Copa del Rey to be that significant imo, but maybe playing against Real Madrid could make still worth cheering for.

And the woes continues for the toothless lion, I mean Liverpool, they couldn't find the back of the net yet again, and this time it's against Crystal Palace who aren't so inform either, with Liverpool having some of their injured players back the least you'd expect of them today would have been a narrow victory, they were the better side not gonna lie, but if being the better side doesn't get you three points in the end, then of what use it ?

Chelsea vs Tottenham, I really need this win from Chelsea, it would mean a lot to me, but would I want to keep my hopes up ? hell no.
1970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 25, 2023, 07:19:55 PM
Nketieh is another overrated player on my team; he's someone I always have an excuse to have on my team, but with the way Traossard and Martinelli are playing, I think his days are numbered.

If he misses this one, he will most likely miss the next for match fitness reasons, and Klopp will not risk pushing him back into the lineup when the Jota and Firmino are available for selection.

Firstly, I don't think Nketiah is overrated, he's presence is always felt by all their opponents, and he's work ethic is heavy and he's movement on and off the ball is superb too, he's just kid and he's definitely improving a lot, Arteta probably just wanted to give him a break today, I'm sure he'll be back in the line up for the midweek game.

Firmino isn't Klopp favorite's even when he was fit and and scoring well for them in the early games this season, he was still the third choice, that's why it never even crossed my mind to bring him in for one second.
1971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 25, 2023, 03:59:05 PM
Darwin is out injured; I should have trusted my instincts; whenever you put a little trust in this Liverpool bum, things like this happen - wasted my wildcard on this bum; I'm not sure about the next game, but he's not going to produce any good returns. Sorry, Liverpool fans, but this guy's injury history suggests he might not perform as well as expected. Right now, I'm envious of Kane owners.

I feel sorry for Buwaytress, who has been watching and hoping for this bum to come up with good games after good games..

That was fianlly after being able to come up with a somewhat no so wise decision to bring in Darwin Nunez into my squad and Trippier was the price I had to pay, Initially, I settled for Olie watkins who's been in a red hot but I'd prefer Nunez with two games to play over Olie, and Trippier for Coleman was my sacrifice that I had to make, now I'm having 3 Everton players at my backline, against Aston Villa and Arsenal, very crazy stuff as my backline looks very week, but I think I can live with that for this week simply because I've not been getting much points from my defenses to begin with.

Nunez might be more of just a caution, but if he's indeed out for both games, no one is coming to rescue me because none of my bench players is having a fixture.
1972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 24, 2023, 10:52:03 PM
I think it is more logical that Liverpool will not be able to beat Real Madrid with many goals when they are playing away. However with this current condition and the strength of Liverpool so far, they are now in a very bad condition.

They have been more illogical come backs in especially is last over the last decade, that one would never have imagined could happen until it, Barcelona vs PSG, Barcelona vs Roma, Barcelona vs Liverpool, and also every of the comebacks Real Madrid made last season weren't more logical to happen than Liverpool being winning able to win by 3 goals at Madrid in the 2nd leg, so if could have happened before, then it could happen all over again, one team just needs to better than the other right, and with away goal no longer in play makes it even easier to happen, than when any the previous mentioned comebacks happened.

I don't believe Ancelotti will naive enough to think the tie is already over, it's high improbable, Yes! but impossible, Damn No!

The current score is 1-1 Fulham equating the score in the 64th minute and the match is still running for the next 15 minutes which I think this score will end the match
Not much different from what I predicted before as the home team  Fulham is not favored because their mainstay players are injured, it turns out this is the reason for the bookie  predicts a draw strangely, this prediction seems quite accurate. With this draw does not have an impact on the position of the two teams in the standings.
This match was fairly even for the two teams, but Fulham were better in the second half. I think a draw is the best consequence instead of a loss, but in any case they have to regret dropping full points at home today after the previous two consecutive wins against Nottingham and Brighton. 1-1 will last until the end, nothing will change even if the match is not over.
I already anticipated that both teams will score but I sure believed Fulham will grab the 3 points. It is difficult for one team to maintain good form for so long. If not for Manchester United that did it.
Fulham was excellent in a couple of weeks ago but it's like their form is beginning to drop gradually.

Fulham did play well today, perhaps not well enough to have gotten all 3 points as I have them to, but they did create some quality chances that could have won them the match, and most of their struggles have come since Mitrovic has stopped scoring, and he's currently out injured which clearly isn't helping their situation.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Miami Heat
The Miami Heat (32-27) will visit the Milwaukee Bucks (41-17) tonight at Fiserv Forum. This is their last match for the regular season with Miami winning 2 out of 3 meetings.
Heat key injuries: Tyler Herro (knee) probable, Kyle Lowry (knee) out
Bucks key injuries: Giannis Antetokoumpo (wrist) doubtful, Pat Connaughton (calf) doubtful

Chicago Bulls vs Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets (34-24) are going to face the Chicago Bulls (26-33) tonight at United Center. The Nets are coming from a win against the Miami Heat 116-105 last Wednesday. While the Bulls lost to the Bucks last Thursday 112-100.
Nets key injuries: Ben Simmons (knee) questionable
Bulls key injuries: Lonzo Ball (knee) out, Goran Dragic (knee) questionable, Javonte Green (knee) out

Those are both some risky picks.  I wouldn't doubt if Giannis plays tonight after the All-Star break to heal.  I did consider making the same bet though because with Kevin Love on the team I'm sure they want to go out and get a win in his debut.  Giannis is just too big of a question mark.  If he plays, I don't think the Bucks lose.

That Nets pick seems risky too.  Without Durant and Kyrie, it's hard to tell how good they'll be.  Sure, they're playing great but who knows how long that will last.

I do think the Warriors get an easy win tonight and I put a little bet on the Suns also, but without Durant and missing the guys they traded for him, it might be a different game than I'd like to see.

Giannis is definitely out for the Bucks tonight, as per nbcsportsedge.com, but Milwaukee Bucks still aren't not going to be an easy game for the Miami Heat, Khris Middleton would be available and a couple of players like Bobby Portis is also reportedly back into the squad, while Jay Crowder could also make his debut today so the players could also have an important role to play.

I like the Brooklyn Nets ML at Chicago Bulls over that of Miami Heat facing the Bucks.

The Warriors to get an easy win is just another bet I'll be tailing..

GL guys!

I tried understanding about this budget system (sell price) but I probably only will pay attention later on. I cleared out my team drastically some weeks back, don't remember getting much more for Salah who'd been in it forever...

That's because Salah, was barely/never high in demand, and you most likely would have even lost some budget for having him all through this while, but it's not going to be a very important factor to consider for anyone that barely have a player for more than 3 game weeks, they'd hardly ever be caught in between those heavy fluctuations.

I'm still caught up with the sacrifice needed from me to be able to afford Darwin Nunez, but would he be worth that risk at the end of the day ?

Am I the only one who doesn't really care about player prices and stats? Only the fixtures are more important to me. If I believe a player will help me win, I will sign him as long as my budget will allow. If I feel I will no longer benefit from the player, I will sell him and move on.

It can be exhausting to simultaneously analyze fixtures and price metrics, but is it worth it?

It is worth it, because if you sell a player this game week for another, and you can't bring in the same player the following game week because there is already a difference of 0.6m within that week because you sold and need to get him back, if you really want to understand what we mean, whenever you're using your wild card, just transfer out all your current player and save the changes, then try to bring back all the exact players back again after you've saved the changes and see if your budget would be enough to have them back.

It's exhausting, but it's all part of the game and itis very significant because, it will be terrible to see and highly inform player but can afford, those pro FPL players that have been paying attention to the prizes since the beginning will be able afford 4-5 premium right now without stressing too much, and when could be the best time to get all the best players possible, who wouldn't want to have De Bruyne, Saka, Salah, Rashford, and Kane, Haaland, Darwin upfront all together in the squad at once, more so without sacrificing the likes of Tripper, Shaw and Trent at the back line.

For example below is the most expensive squad in FPL right now, Imagine what players like Morvilz7z, Trofo or Icopress would do with that kind of budget at their disposal, especially if they already have the likes of the must have Haaland, Rashford and what have you, They'll practically be unstoppable in this double game weeks, wouldn't you agree?

Here's my pick:

Magic vs Pistons, - I'm taking the Magic -6.5 @1.86
Cavs vs Nuggets - I think Murray and Aaron Gordon is out in this game that's why the Cavs are the favorite -2.5 @ 1.90

I also took the parlay, @3.53.

It's 0/2 for you tonight, sorry mate, some days are just like that, Orlando Magic really didn't take complete charge of the game, even though they did at some point led by as many as 13 point during the 3rd quarter, that was literally the only time they had at least 7 or more points lead, it's pretty much a close game from the very start to finsih.

Jamal Murray actually suited up for the Denver Nuggets and we could say he's one of the reasons you lost the second bet, because he was very instrumental for Nuggets getting the win tonight, although Donovan Mitchel also wasn't at his usual best for the Cavaliers too, he played way worse and nothing compared to the Donovan Mitchel we saw at the All Star Games night.
1977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 24, 2023, 01:04:15 AM
After the humiliation at Anfield last night is anyone probably reconsidering tripling in on Liverpool players, especially having a lot about people getting TAA, what if their win in the league over the weekend is another glitch in the matrix, like the 9-0 nil victory they had earlier into the season.

You guys would be disappointed in me for shamelessly bringing back Darwin in to my team after I dumped him into the bin a few weeks ago, but I couldn't ignore the fact that he's a better option than Kane and Halaand at the moment with a DGW advantage. I activated wildcard, and yes, I was bold enough to sign three Liverpool players into my team. (Trent, Darwin and Salah )

There are just too many ifs and but surrounding my team that have prevented me from making drastic sales, and the first if is the issue of budget, I would have loved to get rid of Tripier, Rashford and Shaw just for the next 2-3 games weeks and I would gladly taken the -8 points hit for that, but with my current budget and these players prizes, I would be needing an extra 1.1m to bring them back in at that point provided they don't have another prize fluctuation before then, it is as explained below;

Player            Current Selling prize** - Current Buying Prize
Shaw                      5.1m                               5.4m
Rashford                 6.9m                               7.3m
Trippier                   5.6m                               6.0m

**It varies with each team, depending on how long you've had a player and the increment is value had acquire since you had them.
So, regardless of how difficult their fixtures are can I afford 1.1m deficit and have a decent squad for the final run of the season, because I'm sure none of the players I'll bring in will return the same squad value even if I get some points advantage at the end of the day, and the fact that both Man United and Newcastle are bound to also have their dgw soon  is another indication that I'll probably need to bring in these said players again sooner rather than later, but then there is also strong case of emphasizing on the fixture at hand rather than some 4 weeks in advance because even all these said players could get injured or whatnot before then, so it's really a delicate situation that must be thread with caution, and however it might have been easier to stay conservative if you have a huge lead over your peers, but this is also one of the best chances to chase points aggressively to bridge gaps. So, damn trick situation, it is much more easier to just decide to go with a 2-0, 2-1 prediction than making decisions in this brain wrecking maze.

San Antonio vs Dallas -13.5
I haven't seen Dallas win a game yet with Kyrie and Luka playing together, so I might as well still bet against them. I'm taking the other side and placing a bigger bet compared to my bet on the moneyline.

Irving's agent signed him up with Dallas just to get him out of all issues he had within the Brooklyn organization and among the fans.
Every sports show post trade, all broadcasters were questioning what if any reasonable explanation could be seen with this trade.
But to many including myself are interested in the betting opportunity this presents itself if this experiment fails.
I will be making a ML bet on the Spurs because I think the bookies expect way too much of a Kyrie and Luka cohesion so late into the season.

Even though I might not be backing the San Antonio Spurs on ML, I also believe Kyrie and Doncic playing together is absurd reason to undermine the Spurs that much, they've also lost a number of key players before the trade deadline themselves, but currently -14.5 for the Spurs outright is just purely absurd imo too, so that's a bet I'm definitely not going to say no to as well.

Currently sitting in 40th place out of 61.

Something positive to take away from this is that at least Liverpool are performing better than you,  Grin

I'm currently sitting 22nd, but honestly there are some fine margins between these positions, a couple good game weeks and you're back in the bigger picture, but it's getting harder since were approaching the final third of the season.

I'm currently sitting 1 point above you and just 15 points below the first place with more than 50 points to fight for, it's still an open race for everyone, this is not like a knockout game where each round gets harder as it goes on. It's an interesting fact that 4 exact score lines get you back to the top 10 and 4 bad results get you rocking the bottom.

That's how the thing goes, that's why it's often best to try as much as possible to maintain a specific momentum, even if it's not at the highest level or pace, it's rather better to not try to chase not so feasible result every week just trying to chase the every gap between participant, I'm still never paying much attention to the leaderboard, but when we get about weeks left I'll check what's left to play for and what not, until then it's just guts, logic or pure statistical, perhaps a combination of the 3 to make a decision for me.

Any luck with today bets in Champions League?
Gvardiol scored a goal and gave hope to Leipzig in second leg, but I think Manchester City will dominate at home stadium.
I knew we are going to see one surprise today but I expected to see more goals in both matches.
Some players made a great jump in positions this round, congrats Casper on yellow cap!

I was only able to move a couple of places, 5 places to be precise, but I don't think it's anything worth cheering about because It's still near impossible to get closer to any of the top 10 and round 16 is about the easiest chances to get close afterwards, it's becomes even tougher to get a point advantage over other competitors except you're going against the consensus and hope it works out.

Nice round win @Casper, 4 exact scores from the last 5 fixtures is definitely no fluke, congratulations!
