1961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: January 02, 2023, 06:53:49 PM
Lone game for tomorrow then we don't have any matches for about a week until January 8th:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/american-football/usa/nfl/cincinnati-bengals-v-buffalo-bills-63a25d5f8a9f5592b57e7af5

This one is a another tough one to decide so might as well just go for the O/U on points.
I agree, both teams are at the top of the standings and the Bengals are only one game behind the Bills.

Only putting a small bet on the under 50.5 only because it's a tight matchup, even though both teams can score i'll rely on the Bills to control the pace since they've been decent on the road for the most part, maintaining the totals below 50.

I tend to agree on the under here.  Logic says these 2 offenses are going to try to blow open the scoring but the opposite usually happens.  I can see a 23-17 type of game here with no team wanting to make a critical mistake or give up field position.  Think I'm taking the under here too tonight.

Why they burned 47.02% of the token supply?

Because for some reason people think that it will create value.  It's a ploy to try to get people to buy this useless token.  Using the name of another coin is another telltale sign that this is nothing more than a scam or at a minimum a cash grab.  Steer clear.
1963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs is looking to buy crypto, why? on: December 31, 2022, 10:49:51 PM
GM/GN everyone.

Help me understand this, please.

Following the collapse of the FTX, which impacted valuations and reduced investor interest, Goldman Sachs aims to invest or spend tens of millions of dollars buying crypto companies. Which indicates to me that they clearly see some benefits of blockchain if it's under their control.

Why would one of the biggest investment banks in the world want to buy FTX's scraps?

Why not?  If history has told us anything is that crypto eventually sheds all these bad apples and comes out bigger and better.  Obviously they see a bright future for crypto so why not buy now when things are on the Lowe end of value than when everything is booming.
1964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 31, 2022, 10:48:12 PM
Surely, we haven't got any thought about Nash's lack of experience as a head coach because we're too focused to the three drama queen that has been making headlines ever since they teamed up, after all, it was just Nash who can't control the superstars in his stable that he was once under his watch. I'm just glad that the Nets management managed to have the correct choice and keeping Durant in-exchange of freeing Nash. Made some sense why KD has been quite after firing Nash.
I still think Steve Nash is a good coach, maybe the Nets is not for him with veterans all over their roster. If given one more chance to lead a young team he will surely learn more on how to keep everything under control and maybe that will also add to his experience on how to manage them.
KD and Kyrie, two stars, veterans in the league, they want a respected coach or someone who will just stay silent if they both want the game to be in their shoulders when it's needed.
No play required, just give them the ball.

Why isn't Steve Nash considered a respected coach ?  I don't really know how he is viewed / perceived by the league overall, but lets say he's not a respected coach, then I'd certainly agree with you that they need to hire someone whom is.  However, hiring a coach who will stay silent and just let the superstars play and do whatever they want, I don't think that is the right way to go about getting this team closer to a championship.  If they don't respect the coach, then that will ruin the entire teams chemistry.

I understand what you're trying to get into, I know you're just trying to say that these superstars should learn to respect whoever their coach is rather than letting them to dictate the whole game while running wild and loose, also, they should control their ego once they have any misunderstanding with their coach. But I'm also thinking that maybe that's not the case here, Kevin Durant is probably not that fool to make the management choose if there's really no issue. Maybe, just maybe, former head coach Steve Nash doesn't know how to control the superstars and to guide them properly. Because what we're seeing right now is that the Nets are in a much comfortable situation without Steve Nash in the equation.

It's still the first quarter of the season.  A lot of teams take awhile to get into a groove and feel theor team put to see what works and what doesn't.  Kyrie didn't ay a lot last year and needed some time.  I think Nash would have been fine along with the Nets if they just gave them some time.

One last betting day of the year.

Tonight I'm taking 4 away teams which I never do

Nets -6 on the road against Charlotte
Knicks -4 on road against Houston
Pelicans -6 on the road against Memphis
And last -7 Mavericks on road against the Spurs

Good luck tonight everyone!

If your friend would tell you hey bud I have 10k in BTC lets try to make it 65k. You play on the casino for me.
How would you play? what would be your game pattren?

Id probably do 1 game of black (20k win) then one game of roullete with 10 numbers = $65k profit.

what would you do

Easy, poker.  A game that you can determine your fate.  If good enough the odds lay in your favor.  All other games against the house the odds are stacked in the houses favor.  Playing high stakes poker is actually a lot easier than playing real cheap handed poker.  The higher the stakes and your skill level the higher probability of reaching 65k.  Most other choices like the one you describe are all long shots.

1968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The reason Dogecoin could fail in the future on: December 30, 2022, 07:29:01 PM
Dogecoin gained popularity due to its low cost as well as its welcoming community. Its community of users behind Dogecoin is involved on various social platforms, and it gained popularity specifically from Reddit.

Doge could fail because -
Dogecoin could fail in the near future due to its outdated blockchain technology. The Dogecoin blockchain is built on the Litecoin blockchain, which is based on Bitcoin's Blockchain.
One of the main issues with old blockchains is that they're not scalable. They are unable to manage large volumes of transactions without slowing down or mistakes.

Investors advice on investing in Dogecoin now as this is being the best time to purchase doge. Dogecoin prices are expected to rise as we approach the annual close. The increase in price fluctuations may eventually assist the price to soar and as per Coinpedia doge price prediction it will close the year at $0.118.

Are these cons going to result in dogecoin price failing or Elon Musk support for it make this coin price increase?

The biggest reason is its endless trail of 10,000 doge block rewards every minute.  There is no possible way demand can keep up with an ever minting supply.  Eventually this will just keep dropping and dropping.  Doge had its pump, it's over.
1969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing with your alt bags on: December 30, 2022, 07:26:25 PM
It's starting to look like we are going to see a huge dump in the coming weeks into 2023, altcoins are in trouble as big venture capitals are selling off their holdings, and another one today is DCG

Almost all altcoins are now making new all time low, Gala games for example look like it's going to 0.015$ after holding 0.025$ for months, I have halted my buys right now because I believe that BTC will go lower, what are you plans?

Most of these will all go to zero it happens every cycle.  Then a whole new group of alts will be pushed and bought.  Will pump on hype amd then they too will fall into oblivion.  Altcoins are trading toys, they aren't to be bag held.
1970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 30, 2022, 07:24:21 PM
Right now, Houston is in rebuilding mode, they are building young superstars like Jallen Green and Porter Jr. so Harden will be stealing the spotlight from them.
Those young stars will learn so much from James Harden as well, so it will be alright to steal their spotlight for a while. Harden has a lot of experience, if he can teach those young guns, maybe they will be successful in Houston. But if he goes back to Houston, Harden may delay his championship aspiration. He is already 33, I do not think he can wait for those two to major and get into their prime. Let's see this summer if he will pursue going back to Houston.
Latest news I could find is that Harden answered the rumours and saying they are doing great in Sixers as a team and he doesn't know where the rumours came from. But there were so many news about this, I don't think it could be just a rumour, isn't it? If this came true, it would be a very bold move. I don't think Rockets want this kind of trade. But, on the other hand, they have too many young and high potential players. Sometimes a team has a game plan, but sometimes the desired goal cannot be reached due to the inexperience of the players and sometimes the inadequacy of the players. Sometimes a team doesn't have any game plan but you rely on the skills and/or experience of the players but the desired goal cannot be achieved. Rockets has neither a game plan nor a talented and/or experienced roster. Young people in their hands do not have the chance to develop or mature in such an environment. The best that jalen green can get in his career is j.r smith, if he has the right pieces on his side. He plays like an ordinary player who doesn't have game intelligence, who trusts his athleticism and isolation games if he has a day. The sad part is that this man was selected number 2 in the 2021 drafts, ahead of Evan Mobley and Scottie Barnes. I find the Harden news for Rockets too unnecessary. He is also too old.

Harden is exactly where he wants to be.  He is a Philly guy to begin with and they are a ready made team.  Why would he want to go back to a rebuilding team?  At his age he only has a coue left at or around peak performance.  He can't afford to go to a rebuilding team if he wants a chance at a championship.
1971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cashless Gambling, your thought? on: December 30, 2022, 07:21:18 PM
Have you ever thought of a government implementing a Cashless gambling?  Making hard cash obsolete for gambling purposes?  Armenia is currently pushing this law that force their gambler to do gambling transaction via bank[1].  It was stated that the said law is created so that the government can tax gambling institutions effectively.  They also add an additional requirement that the gambling establishment needs to pay in order to get the desired licenses on how much  bet the establishment can accept.

This may look profitable for the government but I believe it will hit hard gamblers.  With the implementation of cashless gambling, gamblers are now exposed since they have to use their credit cards or debit card to play.  (Another way of the government to spy on their citizen.)

In a positive note, minors gambling incident would greatly reduced because the gambling transaction can now be traced via bank statement, except if these minors can freely use their parent's cards.

May take on this.. screw the government if we really wanted to do cashless gambling, there is always a cryptocurrency gambling platform option where we can at least play gambling without the need to use our bank account.

So what do you think about this cashless gambling, is this another breakthrough of the gambling industry or just a way of the government to track their citizen and earn from the gambling establishment.

[1] https://www.casino.org/news/armenia-introduces-new-taxes-restrictions-on-its-gaming-industry/

This is just like everything else going cashless.  It's for better tracking and ultimately to make sure of exactly that, to be able to tax and make sure no one is getting out of it.  I don't like it personally.  Cash is acceptable tender and to exclude it is rediculous.

And the Knicks are now doing knick things.  Going from an 8 game win streak to losing some really bad games.  I know they are missing jalen and rj but there is no reason to get blown out in San Antonio and being up 9 with 30 seconds to go and losing in Dallas.  I love/hate this team.
1973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2022 Crypto Dead Projects List on: December 29, 2022, 05:09:54 PM
Those are only the biggest projects. According to new reasearch - 350 new 'scam tokens' were created every day this year: Solidus Labs

117,629 of scam projects that was lauched and died in 2022. Making total of 1.9 M investors impacted

Sad part is this will never ever stop until people stop being greedy.  But since greed has never wavered in Amy market crypto will continue to be susceptible to scams more often than not.  Be vigilant and steer clear of these projects as much as you can.

For some reason we all still have a game this week??  Huh

My ESPN league has concluded, finished 8-6, 5th place out of 10. A pretty mediocre season for me this year.

Teams with the two best records, Jerkers and Coiners, play for the most consolation.

Congrats to South Park and Hueristic for some well-deserved championship matchup spots.

Yep congrats to the 2 finals spots it's been a fun season!  My season didn't start out how I wanted but that's fantasy football.  On paper your squad looks good and then the season starts and starts to crumble in on you lol.  Good luck to the 2 of you amd may the best te win!

Coming off an off day for betting I got 3 games lined up so far tonight.

Knicks -5 away at San Antonio.  They need to rebound off that terrible loss on Tuesday.

Grizzlies -3 on the road

And I'm taking the Pacers +5 at home against the cavs.  They always play them tough.

Good luck tonight everyone!
1976  Other / Off-topic / Re: Team USA will play in the Philippines for the FIBA WORLD CUP 2023 on: December 29, 2022, 04:50:19 PM
Why so much concern about the ticket pricing? The lowest tier starts at $45, which I believe is fair. Average monthly wages in Philippines are around $500, so it is not like the tickets are very expensive. First of all, we need to congratulate the FIBA, for their decision to stage this major tournament in Asia. Had they hosted it in the United States, then in all probability they would have earned much higher profits. But they selected an Asian country, in order to popularize the sport further. My respect towards FIBA has increased a lot as a result of this.

$45 for the tickets are not bad at all to see some of the greatest in the game.  Maybe relatively speaking because of wage discrepancies, but in the US those ticket prices would go for hundreds if not thousands of $ for closer seats.  Price of entertainment is high but worth it if you are a die hard fan.

Looks like we've got some decent games to bet on today in the NBA.  I may find myself laying down a parlay on the Lakers to beat the Magic, 76ers to beat the Wizards, and the Celtics to beat the Rockets.  I think there are good odds for those to all play out.  We'll see of course as I haven't had a chance to look at who is out for the games tonight.  With LeBron saying the Lakers are at the point where they need to have a sense of urgency, I like their odds tonight over the Magic, who many thought would be trying to tank this season.  The only "sure thing" bet tonight seems like it would be the Celtics though.  They're playing great and the Rockets are one of the worst teams in the league.  That should be an easy W.

Never won any money betting on NBA, Just crazy results there. Few  days ago bet on Memphis against OKC with tons of injury, and OKC beat them

That's gambling on any sport.  If it were easy or a sure bet everyone would lay in.

On another note I know I am biased with my knicks but I think this is an interesting matchup at this point in the year.  A good measuring stick.  On the road against a Dallas team with the same record and they decently match up.  The tough matchup will be grimes on Luka.  Interested to see how the kid hangs with Luka.  You can't stop him but you can contain him and force some bad shots along the way.  Can't wait to watch.

Just coming out of the shock of how that game ended.  Knicks were up by 9 with 30 seconds to go and lost.  In the last 20 years teams that were down 9 with less than 30 seconds to go were 0-13,000+.  No lie now it's 1-13,000 lol.  Luka dropping 60/20/10, lol.  The only good thing is that the knicls were without rj and brunsen running the point and still played well for the first 47.5 minutes.  Move on, now gotta play San Antonio tonight.  They NEED to win.
1978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX collapse: Good or bad for crypto in the long run? on: December 27, 2022, 10:05:50 PM
It's neither, it will be a footnote in crypto history just like Mt got was.  Same thing.  Will some people get turned off by crypto for awhile, maybe.  But eventually when people realize exchanges that aren't insured are not personal wallets like people treat them as.  In the end I know a lot of people who now don't trust leaving theor coin on exchanges which is a good thing.  Personal wallets where people control theor own keys is the paramount of crypto.  Either way like I said I think it will be as much of a thing as my gox is/was, nothing more nothing less.

same here NFL and NBA i love sports just horrible with betting on them trying to watch here to see if i can find the posters that seem to win the most and start mirroring what they do.  regarding gambling i'm best at lotteries, cash3, cash 4,  pick 5 numbers.

How are you best at lotteries?  By nature they are just random ypu can't be good or bad at them.  With sports you can use your insight and sports knowledge to bet.  I mean this is a little off topic for this thread but how are ypu good at lottery?
