1981  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] Should there be a 🍀 BTC AIRDROP 🍀 to Bitcointalk Merit Sources on: November 06, 2022, 06:52:18 PM
There is no need to incentivise MS's with Bitcoin airdrop no matter how little the money is; it is much better for it to continue being a free contribution they make to the forum, MS's could start getting paid now and users would start complaining that MS's aren't doing the job the forum is paying them for if they are not receiving merits, Grin these people wouldn't consider how little the payment is before making such complaints.

Having said that, MS's are doing a great contribution for the forum, but so are non-MS's who are also involved in making sure that the merit system lives on by distrubuting their Smerits to great posts, people could also start a case that regular non-MS's also deserve payment should the forum start paying MS's, it is prolly best to let things be for now.

Manchester United seem confident about convincing Dalot and Rashford to sign a contract extension.
A couple of months ago (before the start of this season) i thought it was all over for Rashford in Manchester United, he wasn't playing, and even when he did, he played quite terribly, but under Erik Ten Hag Rashford is like a completely new player again, he has received the trust of the manager and he is absolutely firing on all cylinders this season, i hope he is consistent and sustains this form till the end of the season. He is certain to stay in Manchester United, and as long as the club makes him a good offer in the contract (which i am sure they will), then he is going to definitely extend his stay.

Having said that, Dalot is also playing very well this season, just like the new signing Martinez, there are only a few players in Manchester United that are not close to the top of their game this season. Thus i think Erik Ten Hag deserves an awful amount of credit, well i also think it will be easy convincing Dalot to sign an extension, things are going on well with the club atm, so these things are easy to get over the line when the club is in a good period.

Indeed Tottenham have not been able to win against a top team, but now can Liverpool be called a top team? I don't think so, after what they have achieved up to week 14. Liverpool have repeatedly shown that they are not ready to compete with other teams. The defeat to Nottingham Forest was something that was beyond the head when they had to be beaten by a team that was at the bottom of the table. Now their opponents are tougher of course, and the hosts have just woken up from their 2 defeats.
Well, it is quite obvious to notice Liverpool's struggles this season, they are yet to show us the Liverpool side we have come to know for some couple of years now, but i still think they are a top team, it is quite normal for a top team to dip in form, it has happened quite a lot of times in football, and Liverpool's case won't be the last.

Having said that, a top team can turn up on any day, even if they were previously struggling. When Liverpool played Manchester City, quite a lot of football fans expected City to roll over them, but even though Liverpool were not in form in that period, they had to step up and produce a performance that earned them the victory, so there should be no writing Liverpool off against Spurs, they are definitely capable of winning the game, and they just might.

I don't know about the future but clearly Arteta is a major asset to the club and will not be open to a move away to Barcelona. I don't see this transfer speculation being realistic anytime soon, Arteta is enjoying his time at the Emirates and will continue to see manage the team for further years. The team is doing well at the moment and obviously the  project is going well so abandoning the project now wouldn't be a good idea. Barcelona will have to sort for a manager else where.
There are quite a lot of transfer speculations surrounding Barcelona, and it is laughable if you consider their current financial status, some people have been speculating that Messi is going to return (i think that's impossible), and now it is Arteta replacing Xavi, i don't see any reason why Arteta would want to move to Barcelona, it isn't as if the club (Barcelona) is doing too well, both financially and on the pitch, if Barcelona are going to replace Xavi, it won't be with Arteta, Barcelona are no longer that big enough to convince him to leave a team (Arsenal) he is doing so well in.

Having said that, what i think is possible is Arteta moving to City in the next few years (i mean when Pep leaves), as a former City assistant manager, and with City doing very well, i think they might be able to allure him out of the Emirates when Pep leaves, because Arteta looks like a perfect replacement for Pep.

Football matches can give a shocking results. Don't be surprised if Fulham wins over Manchester City at their home game.
Upset is always a thing in football, but they rarely happen, that is why the bookmakers will always give the greater odd to the smaller team when they are playing a big team, because the chances are really slim for them to win. Having said that, i'm afraid i don't think there is any chance of Fulham beating City, Fulham are a very decent team and they have had a great start to life back in the EPL, but City are definitely going to be too strong for them, and mind you that Arsenal square off against Chelsea, which is a big match that Arsenal could potentially drop points in, i am pretty sure City will want to get their own job done because the possibility is high of them finishing this match week at the summit of the table.
1986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: November 02, 2022, 08:34:18 PM
Bayern Munich can also lift up the trophy because they are in form and are also desperate in winning. As for Man city they lack confidence and luck when playing finals,I just hope this will not repeat itself again, this is the main reason why I can't trust them to win the cup.
Manchester City have only played in one Champions League final in their history, they were close to making it two last season before Real Madrid eliminated them in one of football's most cruel games, thus i'd not say they lack luck in finals, i'd rather say they are struggling to break their CL hoodoo, it has lasted too long and i am not even confident of them breaking it this season.

Having said that, we are finally approaching the stage were the tournament gets more interesting, i can't wait for the RO16 draws to see who meets who, i know too many big teams won't face each other in the RO16 stage, but it'd still be interesting to watch, the QF is were the real business begins. I would really love to see Manchester City in the final this season, they deserve to win that trophy that has continued to elude them.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 02, 2022, 05:09:13 PM
At the beginning of Martinez's arrival, many questioned why he had to be among the many players, yes, those doubts were because many saw Martinez's body posture which was considered not ideal to be a central defender. But now he has been able to prove that Manchester United was not wrong to sign him.
Well right now there is no disagreeing the fact that Martinez has been absolutely brilliant for Manchester United, i think he has to be their best signing of this past summer transfer window, he has completely cemented his place in the heart of United's defence and also in the hearts of their fans as he is fast becoming a fan favorite.

Having said that, he isn't the only one on the top of his game, Dalot, Eriksen, Rashford, Casemiro and a few other players are absolutely firing for Manchester United, it is safe to say that Erik Ten Hag has improved the squad, they just need to continue in this same way and see how high in the table they'll finish, i think they'll get into the top four, then they could prolly win one of the domestic cups, either the FA cup or Carabao cup, if it happens that way, then we might call Erik's first season a success.
1988  Economy / Speculation / Re: How fast will Bitcoin fall down? on: November 02, 2022, 01:35:38 PM
How reliable is Bitcoin
Well, very reliable and secure; borderless too, op if you are new to the Bitcoin network and you are worried about some other crypto coming out and causing Bitcoin to fall, then you actually have nothing to worry about, quite a lot of crypto's have been made since the creation of Bitcoin and most of them have just being a waste of time, even the government have got in on the act with their own digital currencies Grin (CBDC). The thing is that Bitcoin offers what they can't, and it has an actual utility, something that most altcoins do not have.
1989  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this not shilling but information sharing? on: November 02, 2022, 01:01:15 PM
First of all, imo i think people should do their own research and not just invest in a project because one of their favorite celebrity thinks it is a good project, or because one influencer has good things to say about the project, people should be responsible for their actions, it is their money and they should be careful with what they invest it in.

Having said that, some of this shillers/influencers know nothing about the projects they are promoting, they themselves haven't invested even a cent in them and they never directly tell anyone to buy them, they are just paid to say whatsoever good thing they say about the project, it is unethical, but to be fair some of them don't even know if the project will succeed or not, for instance if the project succeeds then no eyebrows will be raised.
1990  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why newbies get banned on: November 02, 2022, 11:19:05 AM
Amazing, I just realized irrespective of the rank, an account can still be banned if found guilty of breaking any of the forums rules, To be honest, this is fair enough, I think this is credible per say, there's simply no cheating of any such, nor protective services for higher rank members for breaking rules, this will encourage everyone to be serious with their activities as well as duel diligent research before posting
Yes, an account of any rank can be banned if they are caught plagiarising or spreading malware. But mind you that every decision made by the moderators are handled on a case by case basis, meaning a user might not be banned (or may be unbanned after initially being banned) because of their contribution (not necessarily rank) to the forum, such users are net positive to the forum and they might likely be giving another chance than a user that's a spammer. Having said that, there are other factors that could get a user's ban overturned, such as: having plagiarised just once, unintentional plagiarism, no intention to earn or boost activity score with the copy/pasted content, etc, but overall it is a better decision not to plaiarise at all.
1991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: November 02, 2022, 05:54:35 AM
A victory that did not produce any value for Liverpool, considering that the grub champions had been mandated by Napoli, while Liverpool had to settle for the runner-up position.
Whilst the victory for Liverpool didn't ensure that they top the group as they still had to settle for second place, it was a really important win for their morale and confidence, they lost back to back games in the EPL, so a win was very important last night, it would be a morale boost for them as they prepare for their big game in the EPL against Spurs on Sunday, if they had failed to beat Napoli, their confidence would've been at rock bottom.

Having said that, Liverpool now have to wait for the RO16 draw to see if they would face a really big team, this season there are a couple of teams that aren't giant clubs that finished first postion in their respective groups, so Liverpool could still get an easy RO16 game despite finishing second in their group behind Napoli.
1992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 01, 2022, 05:27:16 PM
Arsenal may not appear with the perfect squad when facing Chelsea because one important player in Arsenal has to be sidelined due to injury. the absence of saka may be a gap for chelsea to be able to beat arsenal next week.
If Saka actually does miss the game through injury then it is going to be a very big miss, Saka has been very instrumental for Arsenal this season, and he is very important to Arteta in the way he wants to set up and play his own kind of football, but notwithstanding i don't think Arsenal are a one man team and they are going to do pretty well without Saka, if they are to have any chance of being EPL champions at the end of the season then they must also be able to cope without key players. Chelsea themselves aren't better in terms of important players missing through injury, the likes of James, Kante and it seems Kepa too are all out, so there is really no excuse, and i think Arsenal are the favorites.
1993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 01, 2022, 01:49:56 PM
Chelsea match against Arsenal will be the stage of proving the quality of both teams this season. aubameyang will return to face his former club on the 13th matchday of the season.
Aubameyang will definitely be coming into this game with something to prove in his mind, considering the way he left the club, which wasn't an all that harmonious exit because he and the manager Arteta could were no longer compatible, it would be interesting to see if Graham Potter starts him from the off, or if he comes off the bench, personally i'd like to see him start the game from the beginning and see if he could get a goal, because i'd like to see how he reacts if he scores, whether he'll celebrate or not Grin.

Having said that, Arsenal are of course the favorites in this match, i haven't noticed any visible improvements in Chelsea's game since Graham Potter took over, they seem the same or worse, i know he has only lost once, but even in the games they didn't lose, the performance was not so good, Arsenal are in the best form of their lives and it will take quite a lot from Chelsea to stop them, but as a City fan i'd be glad if that happens.

Liverpool didn't need to fight seriously against napoli. liverpool has been securing its position to go to the last 16 and i think that both will be playing safe as napoli is also has been securing its place in the last 16 as well.
You can't expect a competitive game in this match. Both are focusing with the domestic league.
The both teams have rightly qualified for the RO16, but top spot isn't settled yet, and it is very important because in the CL when you finish first there is a high probability that you would have a much easier opponent in the RO16, so Liverpool would really want to finish first so they do not meet a giant team immediately after the group stages; but i think they have a rather slim chance of qualifying first, even if they beat Napoli today and go level on points with them, they have to better the 4-1 scoreline of their loss to Napoli in the first leg tie between the two teams, that is the only way they can have a better head-to-head, so i think it is prolly a lost battle, and Liverpool are actually going to finish 2nd, it would be interesting to see who they face when the RO16 draw is made.
1996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 31, 2022, 08:30:47 PM
Liverpool's performances have been at rock bottom.
The players should up their game, and Liverpool needs to sign a good midfielder.
Yeah, but they will be happy they are far from rock bottom on the league table, Grin even if their performances have been horrendous to say the least, the players know they can and have to play better, or else they might not even make it into the top four, to be fair to Liverpool they have had a couple of injury worries very early on in the season and it hasn't helped their case to start the season flying, i think the board will have to release funds in the January transfer market, they can do with a few new players that can help them compete.

Having said that, they have a very tough game against Napoli tomorrow, this is a game i don't think Liverpool can win, and if they don't, it is going to kill their morale for their next big game in the EPL on Sunday against Spurs, i know there are currently no talks of Klopp losing his job, but who thinks all that will change if he loses to Napoli and Spurs, it very well could.
1997  Other / Meta / Re: post deletion issue on: October 31, 2022, 08:17:31 PM
Moderators do still check the posts before they are deleted, that is why some reports are marked as bad. If plenty people reported a post to be spam, moderators will still check it the post, that is there work.
Of course i have been here long enough to know that moderators do check posts before deleting or not, that is the only way they'd know how to handle the case/report, my post was in response to @len01 who asked why mods wouldn't just delete all his poor quality posts at one go, thus the reply that mods wouldn't just start going through all his post history; but would most likely take a look at the very one that was reported by a certain user as spam and delete it.
If so, then if I do not make a new post, why is the old post not being deleted?
Prolly no user made a new report against any of your posts they thought as low quality during that period.
Also, I don't make more than 4/5 posts daily, so how can it count as spam!
I don't think you quite understand how things work here, you are relating signature campaign rules with the forum. Spam has nothing to do with how many posts you make in a day, spam posts are posts considered to be of low quality and worthy of deletion, you could even be inactive and haven't made any posts in months and your post can be deleted, prolly because someone spotted it as spam and reported it.
It seems the posts are being deleted by an automated bot
Mods delete posts and not bots, and the mods are normal users you get to interact with on the forum.
1998  Other / Meta / Re: post deletion issue on: October 31, 2022, 04:56:25 PM
i have a question that raises doubts. several times my post or reply was deleted. and i think my post is not out of topic or the thread i reply to and always use more than 200 characters.
The number of characters in your post is the concern of signature campaign managers and not the forum nor moderators that handle the deletion of posts, you post can have as few characters as possible, so long as it is on-topic and constructive it won't be deleted.
i've tried several times and it happened from last week. so i don't meet the minimum posting requirements that already exist in the signature campaign rules.
If that is your issue then try and make constructive posts that won't be deleted so you don't miss the requirement for your signature campaign, even if you definitely shouldn't be posting solely for that.
from all my suspicions or doubts about the deletion of posts or replies that have occurred, i hope someone can explain in detail the reasons for deleting posts one by one without deleting all my posts that look wrong.
Mods are busy people, they might not have the time to go through your posting history to find your posts that are of bad quality, but they will look at the ones that have been reported by other users, and if they agree that the posts are of pretty bad quality, then it'd be deleted, overall it is what it is, just work on the quality of your posts that's all.
1999  Economy / Economics / Re: Is recession coming actually? on: October 31, 2022, 03:47:34 PM
We all live in different parts of the world and across different continents, even without the analysis and predictions, you can make up your mind on what's upon us based on what you see and experience on a daily basis in your country. Quite a lot of things have happened in recent years, especially from the pandemic time leading up to now, and governments have somewhat made terrible decisions like printing more and more money to temporarily solve the problem whilst creating a lasting one that will show up soon enough, there are crisis in major parts of the economy and it is felt especially in prices of commodities and devaluation of fiat. Some countries may well already be in a recession, but we all come from different countries, so the situation is slightly different from place to place.

Having said that, people should have to prepare for a time when worst comes to worst, if you need a hedge to devaluation of fiat, there is Bitcoin to help with that, your funds will obviously be in your control that way, rather than in the control of some oligarchs that make really bad decisions more often than not.
2000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts when all Bitcoins are mined? on: October 31, 2022, 03:23:07 PM
so, what are your thoughts when all Bitcoins are mined?
This question has been asked quite a lot of times in the past already and there can't be any definite answers as to what will happen then, which is quite a long time from now, neither would i even want to worry myself with what will happen then as i'd prolly not be here to experience it, the only definite answer is that miners would not get new Bitcoins as rewards for mining a block, thus Bitcoin's supply will cease, meaning there will only be demand and that could prolly mean a huge appreciation in price. Having said that, my thoughts are with what will happen to Bitcoin whilst i can experience it, i'd really love to see and enjoy Bitcoin mass adoption and see more governments accept the network in their shores.
