1981  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Making profit with a bubble on: November 29, 2021, 06:32:58 PM
When this happens the price can go down but it will recover but before it will recover may take sometime and that means delayed trade and stocked up cash, instead of waiting I consider to cash out to stay outside and wait for a time to go in.
Cash out definitely not an option for long term holder. I am glad and proud to say that I am one of them. All corrections and recovery are temporary in my view even such corrections are lasting for months to years. Moreover, I am afraid to stay outside because I do not want to miss out any rally which may happen beyond ATH or beyond my selling levels.

Making profits for me not a concern because I just plan for using bitcoins rather than converting them into my local fiats. All long term holders are already into profits hence any bubble or crash is least bothered.
Well, good to know that you really want to make use of bitcoin as a currency in the future and not just as a pure investment. And i think bitcoin will be able to perform its goal if it will also be used as a payment method than just simply using it as a means for investment.

However, i don't think that we are making profits from a bubble as bitcoin itself is definitely not a bubble. We are making profits because its really a potential investment and its always expected that it won't settle for any low value but more on a higher value. Bitcoin may be a bubble for some that any time it will burst but for us long term holders of bitcoin, we are not seeing it as a bubble so we're not threaten for any price corrections or price dumps.
1982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Is the bubble about to burst?" on: November 29, 2021, 09:03:58 AM
Ah yes. The bursting of the "bubble". You realise its just a FUD meme that has been proven wrong time and time again? Bitcoin is NOT a bubble nor will it ever be one. Yes, there will be corrections and dips and sometimes, due to compounding bad news, we might even see a downward slope which seems to last forever. But Bitcoin is a deflationary currency which will always overtake it's last ATH.

In Bitcoin we trust.
The decline or correction will surely come to an end, because the market is currently in a state of consolidation. Those who say that the bitcoin bubble has burst would expect bitcoin to drop and buy at the lowest price. Many FUDs are scattered saying bitcoin is over, but in fact bitcoin is still correcting and looking for a bounce to fly to new ATH prices again.
And I believe so. We could definitely think about the "bubble will burst" and also we could think that " the correction will end". It can never be all the time bearish nor it all be bullish, we have to think about how the volatility affects the market and make changes on the trend. Perhaps, this has been happening several times and I guess, we are about to learn it or we are already that.

FUDs? They killed positive mindset before but not now. People are becoming skeptical about that especially when there is no basis.
People have become more smart overtime. And believing that bitcoin is a bubble, of course not. It would have not survived in a decade if everything that's happening to bitcoin have no basis, so clearly bitcoin is not a bubble.

However, going back to the article, i might say that the author itself is anti bitcoin and this is the reason why he wants this article to be widespread so it can be a wake up call for everyone who believes in bitcoin. But not for now, because as time goes by, investors have become more wise and more brilliant when it comes to bitcoin investment.
1983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 26, 2021, 08:58:49 PM
Phoenix Suns are gonna play the Knicks on the road.

Suns currently have the longest win streak in the NBA now with 14. What do you think, will they be able to continue the winning streak or the Knicks will stop that today? Share your thoughts as the Suns are in serious business now, they are playing with high confidence and everyone is doing their job to contribute.
1984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: November 26, 2021, 08:38:03 PM
LA Clippers to win Detroit Pistons and cover the spread.
For watching games live NBA League Pass is on Black Friday 50% sale off the regular price until the end of Cyber Monday.
Although Pistons have been losing, they are very competitive in early game, it's just they always felt short and losing on 5 points only. So yeah, LA Clippers could win this game but it will be very tough game for them. I like Detroit +11.5 here.

Chicago Bulls might bounce back today against the Orlando Magic after they have been upset by the Rockets.

That's also what I noticed. Against the super team, they are mostly lost with a single digit lead.

handicap like that is very considerable, no offense but Clippers are inconsistent, very hard to predict, some time they are very hot
but there are also times that they are quiet and they are losing with unexpected team.

Good pick also with Chicago, they need to bring the momentum after losing from Houston.

Lots of games to choose and bet. Best of luck!

I would sit the Clippers vs Piston's game, like you said, the Clippers are very inconsistent but I also don't want to risk my money on a team that is struggling this season, so better not force it and just want the game without a bet. About the Bulls, well, maybe they'll bounce back after a big lose but I also don't know if they can cover the spread which is currently at -9.5,  it's still a tough choice.
1985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 26, 2021, 01:38:15 PM
Many of us are impressed with the Bulls' performance this season. Regarding DeRozan and LaVine, both have great stats. However, I agree with Yogee that they won't have a chance to compete with Curry and Durant for the MVP title of the regular season. Curry looks unstoppable, and I think he will be MVP this season imho.

I think it's early to conclude this discussion, especially we are not yet passing the NBA All-star week 2022. anything can happen next year but if Klay Thompson will further boost Curry's performance then you can say try again next time to the other candidate because they won't have a chance at all. Stephen Curry has once again become the all-time favorite this year as you can see there are lots of fans on the court when they play just to see him shoot those stunning threes.

Judging on how Curry has been performing early this season, everyone can say that he's the top MVP candidate obviously.
He's unarguably the best shooter of all time, that alone can be enough to tell he's an MVP caliber player.
Though there were a bunch of good players in the NBA today especially the young guns, but as you said Curry has been great once again.
He had an early momentum most probably he will finish the way he started the season.

What Curry made more successful this season is because he is healthy, not only that, he also gets the support from his teammates, they are stepping up and they make the Warriors once again a tough team to beat, it's like the old Warriors who easily dominate their opponent, and take not, this team is still without Thompson, so expect a better team with Thompson but Curry would still lead the team as usual.

And I hope he will remain healthy as I don't want to see a team struggle again because their main star player is injured, that will not bring healthy competition and the winner of this season might not get the full respect from the fans as they will think they only win because the best team suffered from injury. Just like last season, The LA, Lakers, LA Clippers, and Nets are the best teams but their star players are injured, so other teams takes the opportunity to advance.
1986  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Ilunga Makabu on: November 26, 2021, 01:00:59 PM
even so now is a big challenge for canelo because indeed he has just stepped on a heavier class than before even though he is indeed very strong but this is a new class and he may have to adjust his strategy again in this match.
On the other hand, Makabu is also very big and actually Canelo's speed is quite superior because if I saw the previous Makabu match he was a boxer who was not fast enough and Canelo had to take advantage of this well
Might not be fast but punches were strong which he should really be that not too confident when it comes to his defenses or in overall he shouldnt really be that too careless.

Stepping on heavier division does really need adjustment because speed is one of the most common factor that would be mainly affect yet you had become heavier
but well for something like Canelo then it wouldnt really be that much of an issue.
he is a pretty good boxer and can adjust quickly especially when he is in the ring I feel canelo is a different person.
but indeed as you said maybe the macabu is not fast enough but the shot is very crazy and even I remember when he managed to beat Kudryashov some time ago at that time the macabu shot was so terrible especially the hook he did.
it's not impossible that if canelo is not careful he will be made like Kudryashov by ending up battered at the hands of Makabu
That could possibly happen if the boxer is not careful, there's no exemption even Canelo. However, knowing Canelo, he is not a type of boxer who is careless, he is slow starter and he always make sure he will win in the end, so he will likely win here but I doubt he can win by KO.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: November 26, 2021, 12:22:14 PM
A news about Marc Pingris. He unretires and will play for Nueva Ecija in MPBL. His passion for basketball can't be removed and good to see him back play again but no longer for PBA but now for MPBL.
Also see this news and its not a shock to me since many athletes are coming back from their retirement so basketball here in our country are also belong to that. Its a good decision for Pingris for sure and probably he misses playing on court with his favorite sports, let’s see if Nueva Ecija will become more competitive after Marc joining this team. Seriously, MPBL are getting more serious year after year.
I'm not actually watching MPBL but because of Marc, I might be following a few games not only from him though. It's really good to see someone out from retirement goes back.
It's not just about the offer but also about the love of the game. Well, we see players going from the league after league. AFAIK, there's also another league for which some players from PBA that haven't taken the spotlight are playing there. I forgot the name of the league, it's also in our country.

Not sure if that MBA or PBA D-League,

I saw from one of social media site that it's not just Pingris that will play for Nueva Ecija, Peter Simon will also joining him.

The caption of that post said " Isa na lang kulang" which very easy to identify.
But if I'm not mistaken, James Yap still have one more season before
he will retire his Jersey.

It's interesting, JayJay helterbrand after playing with PBA veterans exhibition game decide to comeback and play with MPBL..
maybe more PBA star  will be joining this league.

MPBL is becoming more interesting, with some PBA players participating in the league, it will become more popular Manny Pacquiao as the founder will become successful as well. He has no success playing with the PBA back then with KIA, but here, his league grow and has become very competitive now.
1988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buying shib right now on: November 25, 2021, 10:21:05 PM
Hi I want jump on the bandwagon right now and buy some shib haha I am looking at the rsi and extremely overbought I see. Should I just wait a bit for it to come down some then buy? Or this still going through the roof and I should get on now?

At this date its great to buy but never invest too much in this shitcoin.
I do agree. This is a good time to buy bitcoin and solid altcoins but when it comes to meme coins, we should only invest in it with a minimal amount. It's not good that we should only rely to hypes in making investments because if that hype will be over, does that mean our capital will be over too? So its a perfect time to think about the utility case and usefulness of every coin you want to invest. If you think Shiba is one of them, then make sure to invest in it provided that you know how to deal the risk. Investing in bitcoin and altcoins maybe risky in the first place, but it will be more risky investing in meme coins as they are only good for pump and dump.
1989  Economy / Economics / Re: People tend not to move on: November 25, 2021, 09:43:19 PM
geographically speaking. It is curious how most people are (randomly?) born somewhere and they tend to look for the opportunities to make a living on that place, do not go too far or think that they actually enjoy the freedom of deciding to go to anywhere else in the world unless they have serious pressing motivation (hunger, crime,...).

Reading this, I could not help but think that people also "don't move" in monetary terms. They are born in a certain region and they do not think that their money might very well better in some other form (e.g. bitcoin).
The problem with most people is that whenever they get familiar with something, they find it difficult to leave that particular thing and try something new. A lot of people don’t like trying something new, once they have familiarized themselves with one thing , they just want to stick with that particular thing and not move ahead or check out other things that are around them.

So, this is a serious issue with most people, and it is not a good thing. Sometimes it’s good for us to leave our comfort zones and try out new things that you can find around us. If you continue with only things that you are familiar with and not try to leave that comfort zone ,  you might not be able to achieve anything.
This is a sad reality for most of the people. Once they are comfortable with their current status, they will no longer find another option that will make them even more at ease. Instead, they stick to what they believed. But for the newborn millenials, they love to take risks so whatever opportunities they will encounter, they will surely grab for it. And it's a good thing that they are risk takers so they will really find the things that they are looking for and make them satisfied. In fact, this type of individuals are more on achievers but its also undeniable that they are also prone for more losses since they are more aggressive to create profits compared to those adult stages.
1990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if governments make Bitcoin centralized? on: November 25, 2021, 08:52:08 AM
Have you ever thought about Bitcoin becoming centralized someday? The ever-growing mainstream adoption of Bitcoin worldwide will only lead us closer to such scenario. To our surprise, El Salvador became the first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender. The more popular the cryptocurrency becomes, the more countries will be tempted to follow El Salvador's footsteps. Imagine governments making their own mining facilities, or even buying pre-established mining companies in order to gain a piece of the pie. If they manage to control more than 51% of Bitcoin's hashrate, the cryptocurrency will effectively become centralized. That, and the fact that they already control centralized exchanges is a very alarming situation for the future of Bitcoin.

Of course, the only way governments worldwide will be able to control 51% of Bitcoin's hashrate is if they unanimously agree on using Bitcoin is a "One World Currency". This may all sound crazy, but we cannot ignore it from happening in the future.

What are your thoughts? Will Bitcoin be able to remain decentralized for the foreseeable future? Or not? What do you think will happen if governments fully embrace Bitcoin as the replacement of Fiat? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

Good thing that bitcoin is decentralized already and there's no way they could make it centralized by cheating or hoarding coins, it would totally make no sense even if they wanted to, bitcoin had far started more a decade ago, government would take action at large as late as today.
Take for example China, we all knew that they're trying to control cryptocurrencies or atleast make them an overseer or middleman about the transactions, but look at China now, they have given up already and took a legal action to ban bitcoin across mainland China.
Yes, they have leave bitcoin behind and end up creating their digital yuan that is fully centralized. Just like China, if other countries will also try to adopt bitcoin and make it centralized, i doubt if they will succeed on it. Bitcoin has been here for a decade being decentralized and that people have seen its value and worth already as a decentralized coin so probably, they won't also let such governments to make bitcoin centralized as they will lost their full control on their bitcoins and eventually, lost their expected profits too as everything will be fully credited to the government.
1991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your market prediction for the year end - 2021 on: November 25, 2021, 05:42:57 AM
I really don't know if the market is bullish or bearish as the value of Bitcoin has been volatile, moving between $55,000 to $60,000 and ethereum $4,000 to $4,400. It feels like the market is sceptical on the stride to go and it's getting to the end of the year. What's your anticipation for the market?

December is not usually good for cryptocurrency, oval. So there is a big chance that either there can be a small dip or most likely sideways movements with Bitcoin and the rest of the gang. People are not so interested to be buying or investing around Decembers its the season for spending so many might choose to convert their digital assets to fiat money. Still, we are hoping that this will not be the case who knows if crypto can be pulling us a surprise gift: a big run in December snow.
Of course it is always expected that when holiday season is here, people prefer to spend their crypto to enjoy the holidays rather than saving money to start investing in crypto. But with this current market condition, for sure a lot of people will be sadden if the correction will continue until year end. Hopefully, the current correction will soon to be over because i still believe that we will end up this year with big smiles and huge profits on our pockets. However, if this crypto market will continue to be bearish, then we should not lost hope because right after a bearish season, a bullish trend will definitely take over in the market.
1992  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin up since after Dump? on: November 24, 2021, 09:55:58 PM
Traders like me has wondered the next move for bitcoin. Ever since the dump that happened few days ago, it's been almost stagnant at $63k.
The latest technical analysis from one of the most popular analysts in the market shows that the Bitcoin market might still continue to decrease, as it would be facing more price correction. The analysis goes further to say that Ethereum and some other top altcoins in the market stand a bigger chance of increasing In the near future.

But all these things are still speculations, none of us can really tell what it is going to be, so if you still believe that you will be able to keep holding, then you should continue holding your assets and not sell it, but if you feel that you have made profits already and you don’t want to lose anything again, then you can go ahead and sell your coins.
It would be only have 2 possible ways whether there would be some recovery or would really be having that further dump which is a casual thing to have thats why when it comes to analysis then it wouldnt really be precise as always yet the market could move on its own varying or depending on the market or with buyers and sellers alone.

Whenever we do have some dump then expect or anticipate that there would be some recovery or price increase because a market couldnt really
just having that downward movement always.

The question is, WHEN?
That's the most uncertain thing that until now we have no idea when will it happen. As the market continues to experience market price correction, it has been causing more doubts to the people if the market will still recover or not. But one thing for sure, bitcoin and those top altcoins will always recover from all types of dumps. For now, holding them is still the best thing to do so we will still end up profitable if the market turns to bullish again.
1993  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you manage Bitcoin price now on: November 24, 2021, 08:33:27 PM
I don't implement any system at this time for my bitcoin and just hodl ! it shouldn't be like that but some business keeps me can't managing my bitcoin assets ! should bitcoin asset management be important ,you can buy altcoins that are tren in any market to increase amount so not only hodl for something that is not certain ! trade when you get enlightened and find opportunities wherever they are so don't stop at one point
but I actually agree with your way to hold bitcoin, because that is the best way that can be done right now. although we see bitcoin corrected quite deeply but usually bitcoin will be able to make changes at any time to increase again. this seems to have been done several times when bitcoin reaches ATH then there will be a correction again but there will be an increase to reach renewable ATH.

if there is an intention from you to change to altcoins, of course that is something that can be done, but it seems that altcoins are also not good because of the effects of bitcoin. all once again depends on you who have analyzed well and feel what you are going to do is the best possible alternative by changing to altcoim.
Altcoins are more dumped at this moment because their value only depends on bitcoin which is also getting dumped. But its never a bad idea to start buying altcoins too as long as you are choosing from those major a altcoins because even if they dumped, they will always bound to recover again.

For bitcoin, always hold them because eventually once this correction will be over, bitcoin will always create higher chances to reach its new ATH that will give benefits to those long term holders for bitcoin.
1994  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we in a bear trap? on: November 23, 2021, 09:24:45 PM

Seeing the funding rates above, it seems clarified that btc had a 'fakedown' and was a bear trap, but how low do you think will it go? Is the trap game over and we lost the 55k buying opportunity? Or should I wait for much lower value of btc to get an entry? I am still confused about that MtGox releasing their customers' btc tomorrow, which is making my nerves go wild when I think of what may happen.

Source

Till now I saw the fear and greed index is showing neutral. That means people's sentiment is not clear so it will be better to wait for some time. It will be better to take an entry in a little bit higher in a bull market than take enter in a bear market. Do not FOMO and act according to market sentiment. The market became more mature and people know how whales manipulate the markets.
The market remains to be unstable and certainly becomes more unpredictable too as bitcoin is not yet back in its $60k value. But this should not create panic for everyone as this has happened a lot of times and all we can do is to patiently hold all our coins. I can say that we are not yet in a bear trap but if the price of bitcoin will go lower than $50k, maybe the bear season is about to start.

However, this correction phase may be considered a good entry for everyone who wish to buy more cheap coins. Just seize the moment and we will be celebrating again once the market returns to normal and become bullish again.
1995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to avoid all scams? on: November 23, 2021, 09:54:25 AM
You can be aware of these scams and don't be greedy so that you don't fall prey in hands of these scammers easily.Prevention can safeguard you but if you say that these scams will be vanished then you are wrong as they will find different ways to grab your funds and keys but if you are ready to face them with strong power then they can't damage you but most people ignore these advices and we see most people complaining later that they were victim of this and that scam. This is crypto market and you are responsible for what you do so mark your steps.
Scamming has become even more rapid these days so it only means that the more people get involve in crypto or any businesses, the more people will fall as a victim. And i think its hard to avoid all those scams because no matter how cautious you are, they will always have their own smart ways on how you will fall for them. If we can be more wise in managing our crypto investments or any other type of investments, then we can prevent the fast rate of scamming. As there will only be victims if we always let them scam us in different ways.
1996  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Basic trading strategy for newbie to make a profit on: November 23, 2021, 09:05:20 AM
You sounded like one who doesn't even have a trading experience yet, OP. I suggest you focus on learning first before earning. That way you will begin to understand the underlying factors in trading. YouTube has a lot of resourceful materials for crypto trading and most of the tutorials are inspiring too. Yeah, I know there are some assholes on YouTube too who know next to nothing and teaching trash. Just type into the YouTube search bar and you will be amazed at the lots of video tutorials you get there. Don't chase signal groups. Signal groups have their shortcomings as none can accurately predict where price is always headed. Most of these groups are even pump and dump and aren't good for someone starting up new. Besides, most of these signal groups are scam groups. Stay away from them. At least, now that you're just starting up.
You're right. Newbies should never rely to any signal groups as they tend to make more advantage on us rather than we are the one who will take advantage on them. It's always better to learn from your own research and deep analysis to understand more about trading, all its basics and its fundamentals. And there's a lot of useful resources we can find in the internet, just like watching demo videos in youtube and its alike. It's just a matter of managing your time and knowing your priorities if you really want to learn in crypto trading and build strategies on how to make profits.
1997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin City on: November 22, 2021, 10:28:26 PM
El Salvador showed a lot of things we didn't expect to be the most loyal country in Bitcoin. And they deserve to spark a Bitcoin city where Bitcoin's presence is welcomed in this country. Whereas previously Bitcoin was an enemy that the government of a country had to fight. But El Salvador opened our eyes, that Bitcoin can live among us without needing to attack each other. Because the merger of the government with Bitcoin actually became the beginning of a pilot country to open the world's eyes wide to the existence of Bitcoin.
The el Salvador president have seen the future and what the economy stand to gain from this initiative to adopt cryptocurrency as a full legal currency, establishing this Bitcoin city will serve as a business hob for cryptocurrency activities which will be first in the world.
I think everyone does but it looks like El Salvador accepts the challenge and is willing to change its system by welcoming Bitcoin into their country. It has going to appreciate that much and this adoption makes the other countries to give some interest and possibly watching to what is happening in this country. But it looks like they are totally embracing and growing their funds and it can be said that this creates additional attraction and literally it boosts the trust of the merchants towards Bitcoin.
This is another history for bitcoin that only El Salvador has the guts to do it. For me, this is a big achievement for El Salvador as it has paved its way for a more attraction of profits and boost more big investors that will soon to come to adopt bitcoin. Kudos to the country's president as it was his own initiative and brilliant idea to lead El Salvador into a more progressive and well developed country. And expect that in the years to come, the citizens of El Salvador will start to reap the fruits of their hard work, and once it will happen, other big countries will also take the initiative to adopt bitcoin too for their country's progress.

1999  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying the Deep (Bitcoin). on: November 22, 2021, 12:35:13 PM
There are traders and investors who just follow the basic rule that when the price falls, that is the perfect time to buy. Hardly a few traders go to reply and buy crypto after understanding concepts like "Bitcoin Whales". I wish you luck @Wiwo for buying Bitcoin and you will definitely be satisfied with your investment in the coming future.
I think until now, that basic rule is still working. But make sure that you are buying those coins who have high potentials to be more valuable in the future. Otherwise, you'll end up wasting your money because those coins never even recover from price drops.

But for OP, congrats on your newly owned bitcoins. It must have been a huge capital to start with, but it will surely pays off when bitcoin recovers and hits another ATH again. Right now, bitcoin continues to drop its price but i know after this, bitcoin will have a higher target of price for its new ATH since price corrections give strong support for its new ATH to achieve.
2000  Economy / Economics / Re: Really, why bitcoin has this value? on: November 22, 2021, 08:57:25 AM
no speculating how! With the rise and fall of the value of bitcoin, it can be said that we provide speculation when setting the selling and buying prices, where investors come and go.
bitcoin also has value because there is a community of people that have been created and the network that exists around the world that makes the exchanges possible and the underlying system with the right incentives and the right technology. this can be a factor that supports the occurrence of the current value

indeed, at the current price, bitcoin is arguably an extraordinary and fantastic value reaching 60k $ where the value of 1 digital currency that we cannot hold in its form like fiat but has a value that exceeds 1 house and even a jet plane
Bitcoin is experiencing a price correction right now so its value has dumped a little, but we'll always expect that it will soon to recover again. I think bitcoin being so volatile, its no surprising that sometimes its value goes up, and the next day it goes down. That is the normal scenario for bitcoin. But knowing it has a huge demand from the community, particularly from the big institutions that are supporting it, then we can guarantee that its price movement will always go upward.
