21  Other / Meta / Re: retiring an account in the age of AI on: July 03, 2024, 04:09:42 PM
Nobody is going to waste time doing this in bitcointalk forum.
AI can never replace human members and trick everyone into reactivating retired account, remember there is always another human developer behind every AI.
Simple conversation can be enough to recognize that something is not looking normal with reactivated members even with sold and/or hacked accounts, let alone with stupid AI.
22  Other / Meta / Re: Did Satoshi ever use a profile picture on bitcointalk? on: July 03, 2024, 04:01:07 PM
I was looking at Satoshi's profile and noticed that it had no picture, did he ever use a profile picture on his bitcointalk account? Did he have one previously and delete it? Although I guess he might have never had one because I think bitcointalk might have added profile pictures as a feature years after the site went live, or maybe that's gif profile pictures I'm thinking of and not regular images. Sorry if it's a dumb question but it's just something that just came to mind.
It's not a dumb question at all.
I think that Satoshi never used images or pictures for any of his public profiles, that includes bitcointalk forum and p2pfoundation.
I also think that he didn't upload or post links for any images in his forum posts, someone can correct me if I am wrong on that, but he probably thought this could be a security issue.
Images can contain exif metadata information.
23  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Kripto mjenjačnice on: July 03, 2024, 03:04:43 PM
24  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitVaulty: Perfecting Self-Custody on: July 02, 2024, 06:04:02 PM
To become a Beta Tester it’s only needed to head over to the https://bitvaulty.com/ site and to leave an email.
Is everything going to be free during beta testing?

Check out the presentation we just gave in Prague:

https://youtu.be/Mp6QKo-gEQg?si=aW6MAcw4kJxM_nwl
I watched the video and I saw geek speaking with Italian accent Wink
Joke aside, I think there is market for your product, but it won't be easy competing with Casa and others that offer similar services, so you need to offer something unique.
25  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: SHKeeper — open-source cryptocurrency payment processor on: July 02, 2024, 05:57:57 PM
Is project alive right now? Anybody use it.
I don't use it, but it appears to be alive.
You can clearly see activity on their github page and website is alive.
For more information you need to contact them directly, since they are not active in bitcointalk forum for more than a year.

Now when I tried to reload, the exch onion page is not available. There may be a problem here.
Read what I wrote few posts above.
I just tried opening eXch website using onion link and it works, but I have to accept risk message (related with certificate) shown in Tor browser.
If it's not working for you than try changing identity in Tor browser until it works.

Code:
Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN
28  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Starting high quality Bitcoin merch e-commerce on: July 02, 2024, 05:26:34 PM
My question really is on the shipping with btcpay.
Is there a way to automate this similar to how Shopify does it? My concern is way overcharging or undercharging.
You can easily integrate BTCPay with Shopify, WooCommerce, and other platform, that should be able to make automate shipping possible.
I recommend reading documentations on BTCPay website, and checking out examples from other websites that use it, but you can customize it anyway you like.

29  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sony to restart cryptocoin exchange Whalefin on: July 02, 2024, 05:10:11 PM
This could all be connected with PlayStation new patent for NFT game assets, and SONY is probably hoping this will be a lot more popular.
I doubt they can do anything serious with new exchange for worldwide market, but Japan often have unique local services that don't work outside Japan.
30  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] bitcoindata.science | sponsored by l0tt0.com on: July 02, 2024, 04:44:26 PM
Sure it works offline. I could add that information too...
I think you should add information that pay tool can be used offline similar like iancoleman Mnemonic Code Converter.
This way there are much lower chances of someone attacking and inserting malicious address or QR code instead.

PS
Is it possible to add support for bitcoin Silent Payments in future?
I tried testing with sp1 but I am getting Invalid bitcoin address message.
31  Economy / Services / Re: Buy GrapheneOS – Secure Your Smartphone with Privacy-Focused OS NDD on: July 02, 2024, 04:17:25 PM
Do you have license to €10,000 scam?! Roll Eyes
It literally takes a minute to download GrapheneOS from official website and ten minutes to install it on g00gle Pixel phone, and it is all FREE.
You didn't provide any link to original source code that is open source, or to official GrapheneOS website, so I would never purchase anything from you.

PS
You forgot to remove leftovers junk from China  Tongue

32  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: July 02, 2024, 01:36:01 PM
I don't know is it the right topic to discuss this issue. But I think the users of this topic may be familiar with this extension, so I am asking here. Does anyone here use the AI Content Detector - Copyleaks ?
And if you have used it, how safe do you think it is?
Is it really that hard to bookmark website in your browser, and use direct website link to check plagiarism?
I am ready comments and customers are saying that this crap extensions has a bunch of false positives.
Installing random closed source extension is not something I would do, especially when you have to create account and log in to use it.

33  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wasabi topic hijacked by Kruw on: July 02, 2024, 01:26:29 PM
No scam accusation against me, I guess I don't rate in his book.
He literally accused everyone who ever had any mixer signature in their profile to be scammers.
There is no need to personally name each individual members.

But, seriously to all does it matter at this point?
I think a lot of us are at fault by just leaving him neutral ratings. Perhaps a bunch of red trust and he will leave.
I am sure that he won't leave because of more red trust, and it does matter if he is constantly lying and making false accusations.

Some would say that there is no such thing as bad advertising.
Kruw made an effort to talk about him here, several topics about him, at least about his behaviour towards Leo, but Wasabi's name is always included in all the discussions.
Maybe he's not paid for it, but certainly, Wasabi doesn't have much reason to come here and convince him to stop his nonsense.
He is doing a terrible job in ''advertising'' Wasabi wallet.
If he is insider of Wasabi that he is the worse insider that ever existed on this earth.
34  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware Cold Wallet vs Paper Cold Wallet on: July 01, 2024, 08:59:44 PM
A hardware wallet like Etherum, Ledger, Nano X, Trezor Model T, and KeepKey are examples of good hardware wallets
Etherum is NOT a hardware wallet  Roll Eyes
Ledger is not a good example of hardware wallet, they are making only closed source devices and ledger Nano X is one of the worst hardware wallets ever, that has many issues with poor battery.

35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why does someone create an exchange service thread and lock it? on: July 01, 2024, 08:54:57 PM
What could be the reason why some people create a thread about a service and later rush to lock up the thread, is it to avoid being replied to, or they are trying to avoid being investigated.

Most of the times scammers are creating topic that are quickly locked, especially if they promoting some service, website, or downloading suspicious files.
There are some rear cases that are exception from this rule, but I would always look history of member and never download anything from them.
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bisq 1 Vs Bisq 2 help? on: July 01, 2024, 08:50:58 PM
You are asking to many questions in one post and most of them are not serious at all Tongue

First of all is Bisq a DEX or P2P?
Both.
Bisq is DEX aka decentralized exchange for P2P peer-to-peer trading.

I understand Bisq 2 is in beta, anyone know when the finished version of Bisq 2 be released? When released, Bisq 1 will be discontinued/no more updates for it?
Ask Bisq developers about that, not random people on bitcointalk forum.
There are several stages in Bisq Roadmap but basic version works even now.

For newbies to Bisq what advice is best for low fees and quick execution of market orders at privacy & security?
I don't recommend Bisq exchange to newbies, and privacy-security has nothing to do with fees and market order execution.
If you want privacy there is Bisq fork on monero chain called Haveno.

If If I sell on Bisq for Fiat then how to do the transaction without meeting the buyer in person face to face for safety reasons?
There are plenty of payment fiat options to choose on Bisq.
37  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wasabi topic hijacked by Kruw on: June 29, 2024, 09:47:14 PM
When there was a campaign on the forum they did not have an official representative active here, so now I don't think they will appear.
I think that member nopara has account in bitcointalk forum but he left Wasabi team a while ago.

I would not be surprised if this is his "strategy" to draw attention, hence advertise his service.
I have nothing against him advertising his shit, but he crossed some borders a long time ago.

I am under the impression that almost all new wasabi coordinators and monitoring services are a little more aggressive active than necessary
But none of them (except him) created Wasabi ANN topic and pretended to be one of the team members.
Last time I checked Kruw had only a few unimportant contributions to official Wasabi github, and I am almost sure that he pushed some people away from ever using Wasabi wallet.

Playing devil's advocate here: you can't really say he hijacked it, if he's the one who created it.
It would be like I created a topic about Bitcoin core, but I always talk about asic miner that I am selling and promoting, and accusing everyone else who sells miners as scammers.

Send a PM to nopara73, he was last active a week ago, I don't think there is anyone on wasabi team who should care more about this, but if he doesn't I don't think there is anything to be done about the topic itself.
Like I said before, I think he left Wasabi, but maybe he can notify other Wasabi team members.

A government spook, perhaps?
Maybe.
He also made false claims that he can magically make Bitcoin anonymous.

38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difficulty sending encrypted message to specific wallet address on: June 29, 2024, 09:32:09 PM
In fact, I want to send PGP encrypted messages. What is the solution?
With bitcoin you can only sign a message using wallets like Electrum, Sparrow wallet, etc.
Why don't you simply send a PGP encrypted email to someone else for free, or use messenger apps like Simplex chat, without paying any bitcoin transaction fee?
39  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: June 28, 2024, 02:47:22 PM
A couple of weeks back, they added the ability to "save up to three fingerprints" and to rub salt in the wound, they explicitly mentioned allowing another person to unlock the device in question [as an added layer of protection, but I highly doubt that'd be the case] and considering that who their target audience is, I'm pretty sure most of them will probably use all three [I do know the fingerprint route is optional but IIRC, it's needed for authorizing transactions above the spending limits]!
Is this in case someone cuts one of your fingers during wrench attack?  Cheesy
Seriously now, this is nothing now and same thing already exist on smartphones for years.
It's interesting that I didn't hear any feedback or reviews about Bitkey from people who are generally testing all hardware wallets.
I certainly won't recommend Bitkey even if they add support for 33 fingerprints.
40  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Speculation: New Trezor Product Coming on 14 June on: June 28, 2024, 02:39:48 PM
Yes, two out of three GitHub issues [open] with the following label are referring to Bluetooth, so it's safe to say they're going down that path [at least for the next one (unfortunately)]:
- FWIW, based on how they've labeled their devices, I expect the next one to come with a new form factor.
I am not thrilled with bluetooth support in any devices, especially not in hardware wallets, and it's not only a security issue.
Problem is that bluetooth chips are constantly making changes and improvements, so in just few years we can have unusable hardware wallets that have bluetooth only on paper.
Proof that I am not making wild assumptions is g-shock gb-5600 watches from 2012/2013 that had basic bluetooth support, now they can't be used because app is discontinued and firmware for chip can't be updated.
I hope this won't happen to (expensive) Bluetooth hardware wallets.
