21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Floyd Mayweather detained in Dubai due to gambling debts? on: May 21, 2024, 06:25:23 PM
I'm surprised I haven't heard something about this if it is true.  You'd think it would be big news that's plastered all over the internet.  Holding someone hostage, especially a celebrity would seemingly be gossip worthy.  However, it wouldn't surprise me if this were actually true.  Floyd Mayweather may be insanely rich and flaunts it like nobody else, but he's also been accused of not paying his debts plenty of times.  I think most recently with Logan Paul, where Logan claims he still hasn't been paid everything that Floyd owes him and it's been years...
22  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 21, 2024, 06:23:10 PM
A longstanding popular method to gamble on this site seems to be to start an account, fake your way into getting some trust, then take out a loan and bet it on a game.  If you win, you pay back the loan and then ask for a bigger one to risk, if you lose you disappear.  This is why most people don't lend money here and why it is so difficult to get a loan.  As the saying goes, this is why we can't have nice things.  Besides the scams that come along with borrowing to gamble, it's just plain a bad idea to begin with.  I don't understand why people do such dumb things.  Must be greed, right?
23  Economy / Gambling / Re: Wazamba & 22Bet.com refusing to pay on: May 21, 2024, 06:20:41 PM
Many crypto casinos that have a good reputation in this forum, why play on a less well-known platform?
And Im sure those 2 platforms never post or promote their casinos in this forum, sorry to say but it seems they will not respond to your complaint here.
How about bring the dispute to casinoguru, because if I look at Wazamba rating on casinoguru it is considered a good casino.

That was sort of my question and thinking as well.  There are plenty of reputable online casinos here (plug for my signature advertiser Stake) so why would you risk your money on some (apologies for my ignorance) no name websites with the hopes that if you win they'll actually pay out?  It's like you're asking for punishment.  Hopefully now that you've seen the dark side of less reputable online operations, you'll value the reputation that comes along with some of the bigger names.  No need to chase gimmicks.  You're seeing the downside of that now.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 21, 2024, 06:18:07 PM
While I don't think Denver's dynasty is over quite yet, I am appreciative that the Minnesota Timberwolves are going to get a chance to show that they're capable of being the best team in the NBA.  They have some work to do in my opinion with regards to how they run their offense and they need to grow a bit more in maturity, but they've got the most talented player in the NBA in Anthony Edwards.  I would have rather seen those two teams meet up in the Western Conference Finals, but I'm sure we'll be seeing them meet up in the playoffs again.  Denver just needs to strengthen their bench a little bit and they'll be back in the running.

Numbers are holding I am thinking we move over 75k on weds morning while I am sleeping.

A few days ago the news was that the Ethereum exchange traded fund would not be approved and that seemed to be a bit of a catalyst for Bitcoin recent rise.  Now today they're saying the Ethereum ETF is going to be approved and that's causing ETH to far exceed BTC in gains, possibly even putting a cap on Bitcoin's run as investors dilute their Bitcoin position to include other cryptos (ETH).  I suspect this is probably temporary, but I do expect to see a majority of retail money flowing into crypto to be targeting the ETH ETF for at least a month or two while folks build positions.

I don't know how game 1 is going to go, but I expect the Pacers to come out giving it everything they have considering they're the underdog.  For that reason I'm taking them with the +12.5.  I think unless they throw in the towel after falling down by a lot, they should be able to at least keep it that close.  Boston likely wins this series though.  They have way more experience and if KP can get/stay healthy I think the Celtics are a major problem.

Boston Celtics - Indiana Pacers
Handicap (Incl. Overtime)
Indiana Pacers (12.5)

Odds
1.65

It looks like influencers are getting the newly redesigned hubcaps already. They’re basically the same only the extending parts no longer extend around the side of the tire. You can see a small gap in the rubber where the original design was meant to lay.

28  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: May 21, 2024, 12:23:49 AM
I’ve started doing more than 100 pretty much everyday now just because I’m squeezing a few extra in here or there. For the sake of keeping my part of this simple I’m sticking with reporting 100 a day. I still havent gone beyond 55 in a set and now I see I’m even further away from reaching Bitcoin’s price in a set. I might need to start elevating my legs when I do my push-ups.

Looks like we’re seeing a breakout from the downtrend. It wouldn’t surprise me if this carried us to new highs this week. Looks like the current demand for BTC is outstripping the supply of new coins by quite a bit.

Well i fell sleep yesterday and i really think Denver was gonna win the last seven amtch against Minnesota Timberwolves, because they were winning in the early stages of the game and i think, well they recover their memory and are gonna be again the conference finals. Nothing of that happen when i wake up today i see they lost.

I was sort of in the same boat.  At halftime it looked like Minnesota was done.  Denver was abusing them and the score showed it.  So I went out with some friends for a bit.  When I checked my phone the Timberwolves were up by 8!  I was like, holy shit!  I had to rewatch what happened when I got home.  Amazing game.  It lived up to the hype.  The two best teams in the NBA and didn't disappoint.  I'm already looking forward to seeing them match up next year.
31  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 100 Oz of silver in bars or rounds your choice. on: May 20, 2024, 05:44:52 PM
I think that's a 10%+ discount to the cheapest silver I can find online from a reputable dealer.  You shouldn't have any problem finding someone to sell these to for fiat at that price.  I think eBay is selling 1/2oz silver rounds for more than that price!  Shocked
32  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 1oz .999 Silver "Bitcoin" Binary Rounds on: May 20, 2024, 05:38:39 PM
First price increase is now live after nearly 8 years of sales for these silver rounds.  If you previously contacted me to reserve old pricing, you have until the end of the week to complete your purchase.  Thank you!

Best game of the year is underway on TNT… Looks like Denver is going to swarm Edwards from the first couple possessions.
34  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 19, 2024, 07:18:22 PM
Seems like NY has a few injured players trying to tough it out today. Probably not the best idea in a game 7. I’m guessing Indiana takes the win today but I guess we’ll find out in a couple hours. A shame injuries always play such a big role in the NBA Playoffs.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 19, 2024, 03:48:21 AM
No game 7 for the Dallas Mavericks versus the Oklahoma City Thunder series.

The Mavs ended it now with an amazing performance. They were down by 16 in the first half but somehow got it back in the second half. With the help of Jones Jr.'s three-point shooting and Kyrie Irving's aggressive attack on the paint and some outside shots. But Lively was the key player in this game as his offensive rebounds were so helpful to give the Mavs second chance opportunities.
PJ Washington on the other hand activated his game-winning talent. He was scoreless in the first half after receiving 3 could and benched for the whole 2nd quarter if I remember it right. But then, most of the points in the 4th came from him including the free-throw win.

Mavs advances to the WCF.
OKC is a great talented young team. Next year they will come back better.

Congrats to the Mavs. I’m glad the deal to get Kyrie finally seems to be paying off. The OKC Thunder didn’t make much of an effort on the boards tonight and it’s hard to win a game when you’re outrebounded by so much and also shoot a lower fg% than your opponent. Looking at the box score, I’m actually surprised it was as close as it was.
36  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: May 19, 2024, 12:56:45 AM
I just read that Drake had money on Tyson Fury to win this fight. How many gambling losses is that in a row for Drake now on big events? How much would you be up if you bet against Drake and let your winnings ride? Seems like maybe Drake is the Jim Cramer of gambling. Do the opposite of what he does and enjoy the ride.

Feels like the bullishness is taking over in the markets.  I think inflation has worked it's way through the system and is hitting earnings now, inflating the value of everyone's portfolio and setting up the next inflation wave that is likely to cause some negative effects in the overall economy.  For now though, the rich are getting richer at an incredible pace and Bitcoin is benefitting from it greatly.  It's only a matter of time before the new all time high articles start hitting news stands and regular people start realizing what's happening and that their narrative on Bitcoin is completely wrong.

Well you are optimistic today.

I am still debating what to do next.

Selling off the mine is sad but must be done.

After I sell more gear I will decide what is next.

So far I have sold over 17k in gear lots more to sell

Good luck with your sales! I always thought the selling of no longer used gear was the hardest part about mining.

I am pretty optimistic about anything priced in dollars. Sure, we’re due for a horrible recession that will strengthen the dollar and crash asset prices, but it will be a temporary opportunity to flee fiat as government debts cause a laughable amount of money printing over the following decade. I’m not just bullish on Bitcoin. I’m especially bullish on anything with pricing power. Established brands of any kind will do quite well over the coming 10-20 years in my opinion.

Frank Warren has stated that Fury immediately wanted to activate the rematch clause and the fight will go ahead in October. That is right, as it currently stands Fury and Usyk will have to fight all over again. Going by the spectacle witnessed today, the rematch could go either way. If Fury wins, there will not be a new rematch clause inserted therefore if there were to be a trilogy it would have to be negotiated separately.

Congratulations to Usyk and well done to Fury for saying they will fight each other again after 5 months  Grin

Does anyone want to see this fight run back again? I don’t. I think Fury is done. Francis showed that he’s no goat and now he’s being thrown to the wolves. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t win another fight and retires. He’s only hurting his legacy from this point. I’m a little surprised the fight didn’t get called in the 9th round when it was clear Fury was out on his feet…
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shops now accept BTC on: May 18, 2024, 10:58:43 PM
I’ve only seen one shop in person that ever accepted Bitcoin and that was in Las Vegas and judging from the experience it was just a gimmick. I do hope shops are one day able to accept Bitcoin, but high fees and the limited block space being given to patented layer 2s means customers would rather just use cash.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we know retail is FOMO-ing into Bitcoin? on: May 18, 2024, 07:49:57 PM
Google trends + exchanges volume + etf volume, pretty easy formula for raw estimate

I think historically Google Trends has been an excellent way to see with data whether or not the average person is looking into Bitcoin.  Currently it's almost like Bitcoin is still at the cycle lows the way it's being ignored by the average person.  I think a lot of people got burned in 2021 and won't give Bitcoin a second look as a result, but there are still plenty of young folks who are stacking and being introduced to crypto at younger and younger ages.  I think we probably have a year or slightly longer before Google Trends maxes out in it's Bitcoin searches, but when it happens I don't think you'll need to go searching for ways to see it.
