O/T

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)

Clusterfuck.
Afterlife is better.

Don't bother. See Late Night With The Devil (2023) if it's playing near you. More fun, more unsettling, simpler.

5/10

Road house was a joke as well

Bad acting for 2 hours

I liked the opening scene with Post Malone and thought it showed a lot of promise, but Conor McGregor sort of ruined the movie with his cartoon character acting style. I’d rather watch the original…
362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 24, 2024, 01:52:13 PM
A little winning streak going all the sudden.  Keeping it alive today with a couple of picks that should be easy wins.  Not great on the odds but the 76ers are a mess and the Pelicans are rolling pretty good right now, so I feel good about these 2.  Enjoy your Sunday!

Detroit Pistons - New Orleans Pelicans
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
New Orleans Pelicans

Los Angeles Clippers - Philadelphia 76ers
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Los Angeles Clippers

Bol Bol got the best of Wemby tonight. I think Bol is underestimated and deserves more minutes. He got a funny clip tonight too… Phoenix is going to be dangerous in the playoffs.
364  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything is over priced but people keep spending on: March 23, 2024, 06:50:35 PM
Debts have gotten so out of control that it's obvious the government is just going to keep riding that printing press.  The only way they know how to slow down inflation is to cause recessions and bankrupt people so they can't afford to buy anything, then bankrupt businesses who can't cut prices enough for people to buy.  Eventually things reset and the government has more control over the people and less control of the money supply.  The name of the game is to buy assets that will appreciate with inflation and make sure you can afford to hang on to them through recessions.  If you're really lucky you get some extra money stashed away so you can have some fun once in a while.  Make no mistake about it though, the government is going to keep causing recessions and inflating the currency until nobody can afford to own property.  Only those who have a sick addiction to buying stocks (and maybe Bitcoin if it continues to gain adoption) will be the ones who can maintain their standard of living.

Here's the spreadsheet, check the 3 weeks (fev/19/24, fev/26/24 and mar/04/24) the newly accepted participants are painted with orange cells.
And for those that (I honestly have no idea why) want to know about the campaign members, here is the list.. but, as I said, no new members are shown in that list until they get their first payment.
Thanks for sharing it, the guy who needed it can now access it. I tried finding it a few months ago but I was unable to find it that's why I thought it was hidden for the sake of privacy. However, now I also know that it's available and anyone who wants to know the number of participants in the campaign and do so by viewing the spreadsheet. Thanks once again for sharing it.

That spreadsheet is exposing me for not being in the Stake signature campaign!  Still the best campaign around.  Happy to support the cause.  Smiley

I'm feeling good after yesterday's win.  Let's keep the streak alive and go for another one.  I feel like today's parlay should be a gimme, but you never know.  Maybe the Bol Bol matchup with Wemby won't go the right way, but that's really the only concern for me.  I'm actually surprised the odds are so high on this one.  It should be a slam dunk of a bet.  Smiley

367  Economy / Services / Re: I'll Do Odd Jobs for You on: March 23, 2024, 04:09:31 AM
I didn't see your location in the OP.  That might be of some relevance to prospective jobs.  I have a job in mind that would require you to leave your house and do about 30 minutes of work.  I'd be willing to pay you depending on your location.  Drop me a PM if you're interested.  I can't promise that it will pay great, but I can promise that it will be a lot of fun.  Smiley

Hi buddy. No time for offline ventures at the moment. Nevertheless, I'll announce it when I'm I'm available for yard work. Regards.

That's understandable.  Nobody wants to do yard work am I right?  More seriously though...  I was curious to know if you would be willing to test drive a Tesla Model S (for free) and how much you would charge me for such a thing.  I was hoping that maybe you might want to drive a $75,000 car and wouldn't want to charge me too much money for the experience of doing so.  No worries though.  If you ever do decide to make your location known and want to start doing real tasks, feel free to drop me a line.  Smiley

Aww... that would have been nice, but life is too precious to take certain risks. I never meet  strangers who know I own bitcoins to avoid you know...

You wouldn’t have to meet me. You wouldn’t even have to tell me that you did it until after. You’d just need to use my referral link and do a demo drive, then let me know when you did it so I can confirm I received credit. They don’t tell me your name or where you did it.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 22, 2024, 11:13:52 PM
(...) I think it seems that Dana White is no longer interested in seeing McGregor in the octagon (...)

I don't think that's true. From the UFC perspective, they gain nothing by having McGregor on the sidelines. He still has a big name and will attract tonnes of views and sell a lot of tickets, even if he ends up getting beaten badly and if it would be the last fight of his career.
But on a second thought, he became a poster boy for how successful and rich a UFC fighter can become, so maybe they don't want to kill his legend by letting him get humiliated in the octagon.

From McGregor's perspective, his best marketing move is to keep the hype alive for as long as possible, but by making a come-back and losing, he would probably lose lots of fans as people would start to perceive him as weak and washed-up and not as a triumphant go-getter he used to be. So I'm kind of surprised to hear the fight with Chandler will happen, unless McGregor truly believes he can beat Michael, which is not impossible, especially given Chandler is 2 years older than McGregor and also hasn't fought in a while.

They get to keep him under contract so they can claim he’s on the roster. Conor has even accused the UFC of not letting him out of his contract. I think Dana would rather have him fight though. The more I see of Conor the worse he looks. I don’t think he’ll fight again. He looks like he’s a total mess in his interviews.
369  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 22, 2024, 11:10:57 PM
I got my MtGox fiat payment earlier this week.

I'm still waiting for what really matters, the btc payout. Nevertheless, this was a welcoming surprise.

That’s great to hear. I’ve been monitoring the fiat payments and it looks like they’ve gotten a little more than halfway through them in about 2 months. So I think there’s hope that the BTC payments could start in June. They could wait til July for a fresh quarter, but I don’t think it will be too much longer after that. It will probably just continue the current slide another month or two as the market is already absorbing this amount with GBTC. By Halloween I think we’ll be blasting off and a year from now could be locking in the all time high for the cycle.

372  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 10oz .9999 Gold NastyFans Minted Seats on: March 22, 2024, 08:47:27 PM
Show us the design!

Ask and you shall receive.  It isn't anything out of the ordinary for the series.  Here's the front design, and the back would be the same as the 10oz silver round (same die used to stamp even).

Sadly this 20oz .9999 gold coin never found it's way into reality.  It would have been/is the final coin to complete the minted series set and would have been the counterpart to the 10oz .999 silver coin.  It's been 5 years now and Bitcoin has increased in value quite a bit.  Maybe there's some folks out there that might be interested in being owners of the greatest crypto coin ever created and helping me finish turning a pipe dream into reality by completing this series.  I haven't gone over costs or anything with the mint, but a good estimate range with today's BTC value would probably be ~1.5 BTC.  If that sounds like something you'd be interested in being a part of, shoot me a PM.  I figured I'd toss the idea out here.  No more than 3 would be created and likely only 1 if I'm the only person who wants to see these exist.  Don't let me have a 1 of 1.  Smiley
373  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 1oz .9999 Silver NastyMining Wallets (Colorized, Gold Highlighted) on: March 22, 2024, 08:15:11 PM
I wanted to give my review for the Nasty coins, I was really surprised by the quality and how incredible they look, I had the opportunity to acquire a gold one, but none of Silver until now, still a good price compared to other coins I think every collector should have...

Agreed. I have a set for myself and have resold 5 sets over the past couple years. Everyone has loved these coins.

They are definitely some of my best work as far as materials and processes go.  They were sort of the culmination of everything I'd learned about coin making up to that point.  A bit of a shame they weren't more well received.  I had toyed with the idea of doing a 5oz .9999 silver coin someday with gold highlighting and colorization, but I'm not sure that's what the people want.  Maybe someday when all my other coins have sold out.  Until then, I'm wondering if it is the requirement of buying a set that has been holding people back.  Maybe I'll auction a set off individually and see how people feel about them.  Would love to get these into more people's hands.
374  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: March 22, 2024, 08:10:21 PM
For me, this is day 50 of the challenge.  That means I have done 4920 push-ups since this challenge began and by the end of the day I will be sitting at 5,000!  I must say that I am impressed with myself for having reached this milestone, but am not ready to give up yet.  I've got my sights set for another 50 days at least and with any luck we'll be at $100,000 by then and we can all congratulate ourselves for a job well done.  I am beginning to wonder if maybe halving day can be considered a holiday for a day off break or if that is just weakness talking...
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 22, 2024, 08:03:48 PM
After a heartbreaking loss yesterday with one leg of my parlay not hitting what should have been an easy win, I'm going a little more mellow today in hopes to reverse the losing streak before it starts.  If one of these teams lose then you know something has gone seriously wrong as all these games should be easy wins.  A 3 game parlay for 1.61 odds isn't a bet I'd recommend following though.

Detroit Pistons - Boston Celtics
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Boston Celtics

Portland Trail Blazers - Los Angeles Clippers
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Los Angeles Clippers

Los Angeles Lakers - Philadelphia 76ers
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Los Angeles Lakers

Odds
1.61
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 22, 2024, 05:56:01 AM
I won't risk any amount on your 5 leg parlay picks @0gnasty. For sure there is one game that will ruin that 5 legged parlay. It might be the Knicks vs Nuggets because the Knicks really need to push their remaining game to avoid playing in Play-In Tournament and to secure their Playoffs spot. Instead of picking moneyline for Nuggets, I gonna go with points handicap for Knicks +11.5 with 1.62 odds.

Looks like you were right. The Sacramento Kings had no business losing to the Washington Wizards though. With them being in a playoff race and nearing the end of the season there’s no excuse for them to drop one to the worst team in the league. They’re going to regret letting that one slip away at the end of the season.
377  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] bitpic - Metal Bitcoin Picture Wallet on: March 21, 2024, 06:32:39 PM
PS - The NFTs collection is still out there for those who just want to see the pics.

Upon making this post it was brought to my attention that the collection had been suspended for trading.  After some discussions with OpenSea it was discovered that someone (I won't mention who) reported the collection as being a violation of their copyright & linked to securities.  I went through the steps to prove that this was untrue and that these are not linked to any securities as well as me being the copyright owner.  As a result, the collection is back and once again for sale for those who might want to own the digital copies of these images.  Saboteurs abound but we keep moving forward!
378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How old would you be by 2140? on: March 21, 2024, 06:10:54 PM
2140?!?!!  I'm sure I will have been dead for damn near 100 years by then!  Most likely all that will be left of me will be an old pile of bones buried beneath a metal plaque covered in weeds that hasn't been visited in quite some time.  That's if I'm lucky...  Many others will be dust scattered in the wind.  I don't think any of us will still be alive, but who knows...  Maybe Elon will have us all living as code inside some computer by then, or maybe we already are and just don't know it.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: March 21, 2024, 06:06:06 PM
A 50% chance to get a 5x increase...  Seems like a no brainer to me.  I'm taking those odds all day long.  Even the best of casino odds are less than 2 to 1 when it comes to doubling your money (think the green squares on roulette) and you're talking about even odds with a 5x payout...  Anyone who says they would take the 1 BTC and gambles should slap themselves.  That's like a ton of bets with more than 5x the odds you play for usually.  You could even make a side bet of 1 BTC that you will lose and worst case scenario you break even, best case scenario you win 4 BTC.

I have issue #1 that I bought when it was released and have had sitting around for a decade.  I remember these were a pretty big deal when they first came out.  Are they still making new issues?  It seems like it's been quite some time since I've heard anything out of that company but drama.  I just saw someone on Twitter (x) today calling for new ownership of the company and firing of their staff...
