Tossing a parlay out there today.  None of these picks should surprise anyone (unlike my last Lakers to win pick).  This is a bet that we won't see another major upset today.  Smiley
Good luck to all today's players out there!

If Bitcoin could do all the housework, I would cook delicious salmon.

What an interesting thing to say.

Maybe someday you’ll be able to pay an Optimus robot in Bitcoin to do your housework and cook you salmon.

I’ve been neglecting this thread. My apologies. Don’t stop learning about how to sign a message and also using PGP (my other thread offering merit)!

I hope MrCryptHodl doesn’t turn out to be a liar like LoyceV
I hate going off-topic, but since OgNasty loves spreading shit about me in topics that aren't about me, I sometimes have to. He's been doing this for years!
OgNasty doesn't like me since I didn't pick sides in his year-long feut with Vod, and he really hates me since I called him out on - as theymos calls it - his tacky behaviour when he profited 7BTC from holding Bitcoin forum funds.
When OgNasty says I'm a liar, note the lack of reference link. When I post facts with a links to back it up, that usually quiets him down for a few months again.

How was your week long ban after breaking forum rule 8?
8. No threats to inflict bodily harm, death threats.

Still claiming I stole 7 BTC after having the post where I explained that didn’t happen deleted? It is a shame anyone here respects your opinion. If they knew the full extent of your supported extortion of me I suspect they wouldn’t. Just to be clear, I didn’t steal any BTC (or altcoins) from anyone ever. It’s insane how often I have to say that considering there is literally not a single person who claims I stole from them. You’d think someone would have found a single victim if I was a thief.

One of us promotes money laundering, makes false claims, is obsessed with cornering the trust network, & supports extortion attempts; the other safeguarded millions of dollars worth of BTC for this forum, facilitated tens of thousands of BTC worth of trades for users here, donated hundreds of BTC to community projects, and has made hundreds (thousands?) of coins storing BTC for members of this forum without ever having a single funding or hack incident.  It’s crazy that you are criticizing me… Actions matter.

This just proves my point that makers who stick around to speak the truth instead of “locking the topic” are subjected to endless lies and harassment.
885  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1hodlclub coins not loaded on: February 02, 2024, 05:27:01 AM
But it’s easy to disprove haters if you do it graciously.

Really? Everything I did with NastyMining was transparent and honest yet the members you listed as being some of the “best” on the forum have said I run a Ponzi scheme. It’s literally all on the blockchain and exactly what I say it is. You probably think it would be unbelievable for any of these members to bash established members here to run scams with alts and support money laundering. I’m telling you it isn’t unbelievable and me posting the truth when attacked with lies and being lumped into the bad apples as a participant in the drama is exactly why I said saying your piece and not engaging with these members is the only way to save your rep. If MrCryptHodl engages those spreading theories about him scamming, he will end up being criticized the exact same way you criticized my behavior (making the truth clear and refuting lies) in your post. You even say they weren’t always justified, as if any of their attacks were anything but lies, but then admit you don’t even know what the beef was about. Let me make it clear to you. Any “beef” between those members and myself was them saying the project I donated hundreds of BTC and over a decade of my life was a scam or Ponzi scheme. I have zero tolerance for made up lies regardless of if it’s the “best” member of the forum spreading lies or the most mentally ill. A liar is a liar. I hope MrCryptHodl doesn’t turn out to be a liar like LoyceV or TMAN, but as I’ve said previously, after talking with him I wasn’t comfortable buying his loaded collectibles…

Rockets got bigger now with this fresh news that came out.

Grizzlies trade Steven Adams to Rockets for Victor Oladipo, three second-round picks, per report

Quote
The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to trade Steven Adams to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Victor Oladipo and three second-round picks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The Grizzlies will receive two 2024 second-round picks and one in 2025.

Adams has not played in over a full calendar year due to long-term knee problems. He last suited up on Jan. 22, 2023, and missed the remainder of last season with a PCL sprain in his right knee. He was expected to be back this season, but underwent season-ending surgery on his knee in October after non-operative rehab failed to resolve instability. At that time, the Grizzlies announced that he was expected to make a full recovery for the 2024-25 season.

Although Adams is not yet playing due to injury, but when he comes back, he'll be a big help for the team that has been doing pretty well this season. They need a big guy and Adams is just the right answer. So great news so far about the trade news.

Pretty crazy that Oladipo has turned into a salary dump piece for trades. People were talking about him like he was a top 10 player a couple years ago. Injuries must have taken their toll on him.

Boston Celtics - Los Angeles Lakers - Boston Celtics (-10.5) - AD and James are questionable to play which is the reason why the spreads are high.
The point spread is at -16.5 pts last time I looked so they are probably not playing. But only way to be certain is at tip-off.

Lots of parlay was probably destroyed due to the outcome of the game. Not only the Lakers won but they dominated the Celtics on their own homecourt where they have a very impressive record. Nothing is impossible, lol..what's happening here? Was it a rig show?

I can't believe a Lebron+ Davis less Lakers could easily beat the Celtics.

-16.5 but they loss by 9 points. Reaves took charges and scored 32 points, but 7-10 from beyond the arc.. where's the defense C's?

Ya, the Celtics were giving up open 3’s all night long. Seems odd considering the Lakers were without their big man. Gotta chalk this one up to a bad game plan.

I tossed a couple bucks on the Los Angeles Lakers to beat the Boston Celtics tonight. I don’t actually think they’re going to win but the game is on TV tonight and I might tune in to watch it so I wanted some skin in the game. The odds are crazy so it seemed like the bet to make. I don’t expect to win but I do hope it keeps me entertained watching the game.
I'm on the same boat.  Lakers in prime time won't get blown out.  Bron will turn the screws and keep it close.  Not touching the Knicks game, taking Memphis at home -8.5 (that's a lot to give), and I'm taking Philly +4.5 on the road without embid.  Enjoy the games tonight peeps!
The odds seem like a trap being @1.08x for Celtics ML but that seems to be very bad if LeBron and Davis are actually going to play.
Because if so, then this is huge disrespect to them shorting the Lakers so badly.
Probably not worth to take even 1st and 2nd half @1.19x so the -10.5 might be the only market to make it worth while.

This is why sometimes you have to bet the odds, not the game. With odds like this, there was no way to bet the Celtics and have it be worth it. I didn’t see any games that would’ve made for an attractive parlay. So you go against the grain and hope for a big payout with an upset. Tonight that gamble paid off. RIP to those who threw money at a 1.08x bet.
889  Economy / Collectibles / Re: New “United Crypto States” 1oz Silver physical bitcoin piece on: February 02, 2024, 02:32:44 AM
Just like all their coins. They purposely fund so you can never redeem. They fund 40 cents and it cost dollars to swipe. I find these physical bitcoins offensive to our hobby. Trying to capitalize but not capturing the heart of what physical bitcoin is all about. I love the coins but not buying for principle. After their sol noctis eagle and bull all downhill

It does seem that way. This is almost more of a piece showing you’ve burned a certain amount of BTC. It seems like this isn’t made for people who actually use Bitcoin, but for people who want to collect a Bitcoin item for cheap while claiming it’s actual Bitcoin. All criticism aside though, it’s a great looking coin and if you don’t mind spending extra for BTC you’ll never get to use, there’s no better option.
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 02, 2024, 02:27:02 AM
Lakers surprising people at the moment. Beating the Celtics in the 4th quarter without LeBron James or Anthony Davis. They’re also playing in Boston… They’re up 12 now with under 10 minutes to go. Not sure they’ll actually be able to pull off this win or not but the next 10 minutes should be fun to watch if you’re near a TV.
891  Other / Meta / Re: If I'm Satoshi Nakamoto How do I prove it? on: February 01, 2024, 09:43:33 PM
If you're satoshi nakamoto then you already know how to prove it and would never consider doing so as you took extreme precaution in hiding your identity.

A different perspective is that we are all satoshi, so there's really no need for anyone to have to prove anything.  Well, unless you're Craig Wright who may seemingly become the only person in the world to be proven not to be satoshi nakamoto.  Then besides the typical embarrassment, you also are the only human being who ever existed that cannot say you're satoshi nakamoto.   Cheesy

For the rest of us, we are satoshi.

I would respect the long post 1Hodl made a lot more if he hadn’t locked it.

You say that, but is it really true?  There's a reason that makers abandon this place.  When you stand up for yourself you end up with negative trust ratings and constant harassment even if you did everything 100% correctly.  Trust me.  I have plenty of first hand experience in this area.  When the bitcointalk trolls come for you, the worst thing you can do is engage them to try and prove your innocence.  You'll end up being harassed in ways you can't imagine by mentally ill people around the globe.  I wish that weren't the case, but so long as we have a compromised default trust network this is the way it will stay.  Right now, it appears MrCryptHodl has only received 1 negative rating from someone I've already removed from my network for being a troll.  So it seems his strategy is working.

Lealana had some funding issues once with his coins and refused to address it, which lost him plenty of customers who never forgot, Despite being one of the most highly regarded names in the space. ..Advise against this strategy.

Lealana (I guess we won't mention his name) still has a good reputation though, right? Same with 1CryptHodl. I think had Lealana continued addressing what happened publicly here (I know a little bit about this as I was the escrow agent involved) he likely would have been harassed to the point of permanently leaving the forum or at the very least having his reputation tarnished in the trust network as more people discovered what happened.  I address my customers and am always transparent, which results in negative trust ratings for mentioning facts about my collectibles or offending someone (or other completely made up nonsense).  Again, without a valid DT trust network, I would advise other makers to be careful engaging complaining users here as the more of a stage you give them, the more harassment you will receive.  Warranted or not.

0-2 for Doc Rivers so far as new head coach of the Bucks. it seems like the meme's that was seen online about Lillard saying "how can they win a championship" with Doc... Smiley  I hope this problem will nnot get worse and Bucks will not regret on their decision firing Griffin.
Remember how people look at James Harden trade when the Clippers lost 5 straight games since he joined the team? They looked at the Clippers like they're just an average team that has all-star players that isn't fit to play with one team. Now look where they at currently.

I believe it's the same with the Bucks. Chemistry will be affected, and so does the playstyle because each coach has a unique way of coaching their team. As for Doc Rivers, 2 games isn't enough for him to be judged. Though the defense really of the Bucks suck this season, it's the fault of their old coach, but I believe that the team will be better. Just give them some games I think. Like 10 games, and from there, let's decide as fans whether the acquisition of a new coach helped them or not. Smiley

I think even 10 games may not be enough to draw any conclusions about this, as the Bucks players and their new coach will probably need more time to find a mutual understanding between them. I think the main thing is for them to have good team chemistry by the time the playoffs start. The Bucks management clearly expects their team to succeed in the playoffs with Doc as head coach. Otherwise, firing Griffin will seem pointless.

Indeed the Bucks do have high expectations for this postseason performance.  Damian Lillard is already saying that he's planning to win a championship this year and then force his way back to Portland for retirement.  That's a little bit messed up but also I'm glad that he's being open about his ring hunt.  He just wants a ring and doesn't care what team it's with, then he wants to retire in Portland.  I don't blame him, but at the same time it sort of seemingly goes against his whole loyalty thing.  It's like if a guy was married and asked if he could take a year off from his marriage to do a European hooker tour and then will come back to his wife to resume their old life...  Not exactly loyalty.

895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 01, 2024, 06:35:58 PM
I think in order to be an addiction it would have to cause negative effects beyond just losing money as that is to be expected if you aren’t bad at math.

I would agree though that gambling has many potential negative side effects if you abuse it. This is why I always say to consider gambling like paying for entertainment. If you win money, that’s a side perk. It shouldn’t be the only goal or you will be disappointed more than satisfied.

I like Spy vs Spy. When it came out it was pretty cool to be playing a ‘PvP’ style game where you weren’t both on the screen at the same time. Many hours were spent on a Commodore 64 setting traps and trying to build things. It’s great to see these fun things from the past being kept alive. Good luck with your sales!
897  Economy / Reputation / Re: Farewell on: February 01, 2024, 06:25:49 PM
You willfully missed the entire point. Nobody here is swayed by your arguments, regardless of how many times you repost the same text over and over again.

I'm not sure you're capable of experiencing humility, so there's no reason to continue this discussion.

I guess I didn't leave out any context then.  I rigorously proved that o_e_l_e_o was knowingly lying about open source privacy projects and convincing users to give up custody of their funds and data to ChipMixer, who scammed their depositors.

I haven’t followed this issue much, outside of warning everyone right BEFORE chipmixer was shut down that they shouldn’t use it because the site had illegally laundered money for a criminal theft and would obviously be shut down as a result. I was attacked for that warning that turned out to be true. You’d think I would have been praised in a normal environment…

I think a person that comes here, runs a signature campaign to get money from this community and then leaves once that money dries up is probably not the most respectable Bitcoiner, but good luck convincing those who were on the payroll (a huge chunk of the current DT network here).

A couple of good games are on TV to watch tonight. While I’m expecting to see the Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Utah Jazz, it is still nice to have a couple of the best teams in the league facing off on national television. Both games have the potential to go either way.

Yes buddy, Bitcoin halving is only 78 days away. Bitcoin's heyday is coming.

What Bitcoin halving?  That's a countdown to my birthday!

What an amazing Birthday present. Don’t forget to make a wish and blow out all your birthday candles. You may hold the key to Bitcoin’s price future.

More seriously, this event has been barreling down at us for a while and I can’t wait to start watching for the coming bubble once the new Bitcoin supply has been drastically reduced.

I’m seeing a lot of reports that Tesla is asking owners of the Cybertruck to remove the wheel covers to avoid them wearing down the tires. It is rumored that the wheel covers are being redesigned. Perhaps the first Cybertruck recall? The wheel covers are actually quite important for range, so hopefully they’re able to make improvements quickly before they ramp up production.
