201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 27, 2024, 04:32:26 PM
The Boston Celtics had a legendary regular season and are now 57-14. I think it's risky to bet on their last matches, because they can rest the main players to enter the play-offs fresh. They still have a solid team because their rotation is wide, they can win the remaining matches, but you need to look at the odds carefully before placing a bet. Everyone from Tatum to Kornet played well during the season. I see their way to the finals in the East open. In any case, the teams in the East other than Boston are almost very close to each other, both in terms of strength and winning percentage.
In the last 2 years, the Celtics have been one step away from getting that title, but come up losing in the end.

In 2022, they've reached the NBA Finals, but lost miserably to the Warriors in 6 games. Last season, they're only one win away from facing the Nuggets in the NBA Finals, but just because of an injury early in the game, that changed everything and lost in Game 7 by a huge margin. I just hope that this year will be the year for them. The expectations are way beyond for this team, and I hope that they will really reach the NBA Finals. They might be a dominant team in the regular season, but like I always said, one injury from an all-star can change everything, and it happened to them last year. Just look at the Bucks last season. Cheesy They're the best example of "being a dominant team in the regular season" but got eliminated in the first round by the Heat.

I can’t believe the Suns lost to the Spurs and they didn’t even have Wemby. It is nights like tonight that make me think Phoenix just doesn’t have what it takes to make it to the Finals. A night like tonight against one of the worst teams in the league without their star player should be an easy win every time. Concerning that they couldn’t get it done.
Correct me, but I think that the Suns are 0-3 against them this regular season.
What I remember is that, their 2nd game is also a close one as well, and it's the same as this one. With this loss by the Phoenix, they're again on the play-in tournament spot (8th and tied with the Kings).

You know what's worse? Their remaining 10 games are against teams that are fighting for a spot. No eliminated teams. Just playoff teams. 2x against Minnesota, New Orleans, Clippers, and the rest are against Denver, Cleveland, Sacramento and Oklahoma City. TBH, I have a bad feeling about this, and they might even drop down to the 9th spot knowing that the Lakers are on a winning streak again.  Huh Huh

Re: how long do we think memecoins narrative is going to last ?
There's no specific time on when it will last, and no one can tell when it will happen.

Narrative you mean hype right? Because if that's the case then it can happen anytime. Remember when Elon Musk just promoted DOGE out of nowhere? Nobody expected it to happen. The meme coin narrative right now is kind of expected though since Solana has been the most popular coin on the internet for the past months, and because of this, there are many meme coins that are being created and unsurprisingly, some of them pumped up in price already.

On the other hand, this is the reason why I don't recommend buying, and holding meme coins for a long period of time. It's because most of these meme coins are very risky because of how it's price pumps. Most of them have no use-case at all, and most of them are purely driven by hype. When the hype is gone, only a few of them will survive, and most will fall leaving the investors with a huge amount of losses. Overall, the narratives around meme coins has no specific time frame, but if you want to invest on it, just beware as always. Smiley

Hi there to all of you. I haven't been active on this forum  due to the demanding nature of my work as an interior decorator. However, recently, I've noticed that bitcoin is rising in value on the global market, and this has my interest in Bitcoin. I would like to know how people typically manage to balance their offline and online work, and how I can adjust to this.
Time management is a skill trust me, and I didn't know how to master it until I tried to do many things in a day.
Imagine me working 8 hours from my day job, then spending at most 3 hours in this forum, then spending another 3 hours playing my favorite MMORPG game (PokeMMO), 4 hours spending time with my family then 6 hours sleep. That's my daily routine, and of course everything can change like I give some time to exercise or going out, etc.

Sometimes, you need to make some adjustments with what you're doing daily. Give time to what gives you the most money. If your offline work gives you more income than your online work, focus on it first, then if you feel that you have some free time to work online then do it. Which work gives you the most income? Your work as an interior decorator, or your work online (whatever it is)? Anyway, pardon me with this one, but I just don't want people who only come when Bitcoin's price is increasing. I mean you can just give at least a few minutes of your time visiting the market, or at least keep yourself updated with the crypto market right? Why re-join when it's going up in price only? What if it goes down again? You will be out again? Cheesy

Anyway, work balance is really hard at first, but like I said, focus on ones that will give you the most income. Maximize your time, and sometimes, sacrificing something in order to be productive in the other one is a good decision to make as well.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFTs just marketing gimmicks with no added value? on: March 25, 2024, 06:37:13 PM
When it comes to blockchain-based NFTs, I'm trying to answer one question: why?
~
We both have the same question. Why?

It's just a junk of pixels that are put together to form a picture. I still remember somebody from I think Indonesia where he minted his own pictures as an NFT, and to my surprise, those pictures of him sold for ETH. I don't know the exact amount of ETH he got at that time, but at least he got a minimum of 10. Just imagine, anybody can just create their own JPEGs and JPGs and then sell it to anybody who thinks that it has a value.

Speaking of value, I guess I look at these JPEGs and JPGs as just pictures with no values at all, but as long as there is somebody that thinks that it has a value then he will definitely buy it. For me, these pictures are just worthless... or at least not worth an Ethereum or whatever, but no monetary value. Most of them are just scams trying to lure people to invest into their junk JPEGs.

Chance? Like an RNG in a MMORPG game isn't it? You think merit is like you getting the most expensive item in a game, but this time, it's in the form or merits.
Lengthy article? Hmmmm, I might posted some lengthy posts, but not a lengthy article.

It's just me being me. I guess this is the reason why I got some merits though it took me a long time to rank up to Legendary since I'm just an average poster here, and I'm not like the expert ones who are hoarding merits. Tongue Kidding aside, I guess being "consistent" is one of the ways for somebody to earn merit, but I've seen users here who are consistently posting here, but they are just spamming. Patience? 206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 25, 2024, 05:00:52 PM
Nah, the Warriors dynasty are long gone. Their small ball play don't work anymore. Now, they are on the brink of being eliminated even in the play-in tournament. The Rockets are red hot winning 9 of their last 10 games and now they are on 8-game winning streak, while the Warriors are on a 2-game losing streak. The Rockets could've surely make it if Sengun wasn't injured, but I also think they can actually make it to the play-in this year. The Warriors have a tough schedule ahead that could potentially extend the number of losses.
The Lakers on the other hand may have already secured their spot in the play-in after winning 3 consecutive games and established a comfortable lead ahead the Warriors in the 9th seed.
Well, I'm a Warrior fan, and I will also say that the dynasty is over already.

The dynasty gave the Warriors 4 titles so, I guess that's a huge achievement for them already. Small ball set-up still works, but with the current rosters of the team today, it's hard, and the Warriors had a small line-up, but their offense is one of the best a few years ago, and Green is their best defender at that time, and he's an excellent defender of the paint that's why it worked for them.

Currently, the remaining games of the Rockets are somewhat better than that of the Warriors, and as much as I want the Warriors to at least stay on that 10th spot, it seems like their chances of staying on that spot is slowly withering away, and the Rockets are coming to take it. Right now, the Rockets have the momentum with their winning streak while the Warriors on the other hand, is on a losing streak. I hope that they will recover from this slump, and gain some momentum again with only 12 games remaining.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a scam on: March 25, 2024, 04:18:19 PM
You know what the biggest  scam is :
~
Taxes?
You want to avoid taxes? Borrow money. Use debt. Well, that's what Kiyosaki is doing that's why he's not paying any taxes, so does other rich businessmen in the US. Many average people are angry at them because the rich aren't paying taxes while they are. Cheesy

Bitcoin  was and will never be a scam
Bitcoin itself isn't a scam, but Bitcoin is a tool that's being used by scammers to scam newbie investors.

Let's face it, as much as we've seen Bitcoin going up in price these past few years, there will still be people who will think that Bitcoin is a scam probably because they got scammed maybe through an investment that these scammers are offering or whatever it is. Let the people think what they want because at the end of the day, we can't control what they think. Instead of focusing on them, just focus on yourself, and your investment. Focus on grow, and don't focus on them. We will not benefit from them.

Let's do our thing, and let them do their thing. They think Bitcoin is a scam? So be it. We don't care. Wink
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you need to have spare USDT in this bullrun. on: March 25, 2024, 03:26:04 PM
~
With the realization of what appeared to be dream, it looks like some new projects could be the centre of attraction in this coming bullrun as investors are looking for ways to maximize profits by being among the early birds in a particular project hence the reason you need to have some USDT kept aside to take advantage of this evolving new projects. What are your thoughts about this? Let's discuss.
Well, being an early bird on a particular project is very rewarding, but at the same time, it also has the highest risk of all the projects that you can invest your money with. Sure you can 5x or 10x your money investing into some new projects, but what are the chances of you getting that huge reward? Also, do you expect meme coins like BOME to pump up in price before it happened a few weeks ago? Can I also ask if you are watching a particular meme coin that has a low market cap currently, and has a potential to go up in price?

Spotting which coins will pump up in price before it happens is a hard thing to do, and there's a high chance that you might lose tons of money before getting a huge profit. TBH, I'm keeping some USDT currently, but not for the reason you shared. I'm keeping USDT because I believe that we will see a market correction after the halving event happens. Will I invest in new projects? No, but I will invest into lower market cap coins, possible those at below top 100 in terms of market cap.

Investing into meme coins especially those new ones aren't bad, but don't expect too much in terms of profit, and always be ready for the worst.
209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC dip again? on: March 24, 2024, 08:15:57 PM
For those of you out there who are planning on buying more coins
like me when the market dips, have you guys set a target price where
you will buy?
Target price? No.
Target time frame is what I have planned.

I think that we will be seeing a dip a few days after the halving event, and that would be a good time to accumulate some coins and for me, that would be the final time that I will be accumulating any cryptocurrency because after that, I will be focusing on selling all of my crypto.

buy bitcoin in despite its recent decline and I am wondering if will
bitcoin still go down to at least $50k?
$50,000? There's a chance, but I predict that it will be kind of low.
I believe that the next time we will be seeing Bitcoin priced at $50,000 is when we are in a bear market already. I don't see Bitcoin dipping to as low as $50,000 at least this year. $60,000 maybe is the lowest that it can reach before the bull run.

You know what, just buy Bitcoin whatever the price is. Smiley You believe that Bitcoin will reach $100,000 during the bull run? If yes then whatever the current price is, you will still get profit at the end of the day. NFA of course. Tongue

Re: Stop paying money to learn trading when you can learn it yourself
I will just share a story that's not related to trading, but it's related to paying certain course just to learn from it.

I saw a Facebook post hours ago regarding a certain influencer who's offering a course regarding "Mastering the art of getting AIRDROPS". In that course, he will teach newbies how to spot airdrops and how to maximize the free money that we can get there. If you're a newbie, you will feel that it's worth it because he will be teaching you how to get free money through airdrops, but if you've been doing it for a long time, you will see that this course that he's offering is just useless and you know what's worse? He's charging ~$50 for that course which is insane!!!.

That isn't related to trading, but the point is that, not all paid courses have value. In fact, those videos that we are watching for free and the books that we are reading online are way valuable than these paid courses. I don't want to be one-sided though because even though I don't pay on these courses in order to learn, I still believe that you can still get value by paying a small amount to them. I mean there might be some lessons that you can only get when you pay other experts.

At the end of the day, information that can help you be a good trader can be found online, and it's free. Like OP said, consistency is the key, and maybe add as well the fact that experience will make you a better one. You need capital as well. Cheesy
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 24, 2024, 07:23:16 PM
Bol Bol got the best of Wemby tonight. I think Bol is underestimated and deserves more minutes. He got a funny clip tonight too… Phoenix is going to be dangerous in the playoffs.
He's been getting good minutes recently, looks like he already found a team that had unleash his true potential, but like i mentioned above, I believe Luka and company will make them cry...

Meanwhile, how about the Rockets continue the surge, they won today, win streak improved to 8 and they are very close to the Warriors in standing.
Well, the father will make the son cry again in the playoffs. Cheesy
If the current standings will be the standings for the playoffs, both the Mavericks and the Suns will only face when they reach the Conference Finals which is for me, low to no chance. TBH, I don't think that both teams will be facing in the playoffs because they might get eliminated already. I love both the Mavericks, and the Suns, but I have a feeling that they might get eliminated in the first round. I hope I'm wrong though. Smiley

As for the Rockets, they are continuing their winning streak, and looking at their remaining games, most of them are against bottom teams already compare to the Warriors that has a harder schedule than them. TBH, I'm thinking that the Rockets might end up getting that 10th spot or even the 9th if they continue to play like this. Surprisingly, they are doing this without Sengun. I guess it's a blessing in disguise for the team because players like Jalen Green and others are stepping up, still fighting for that play-in spot.

I don't think Phoenix will be dangerous in the post season though.
Their defense is just not good enough and against solid teams they often get exposed. Obviously health is another issue.
They are the classic 3 headed dragon offensively but on D they have many problems. 13th place in defensive rating doesn't sound super bad but that's just in the middle of the pack and if you want to win a chip this must be much better. Hell, even Memphis has a better def rtg than Phoenix.
I can't think of any player that's impressive on defense, and on offense.
Like you said, I don't also think that the Suns are a team to watch out in the West because of 2 reasons and you said it already. Defense, and injuries. It's kind of funny that a team filled with G-league players have a better defensive rating than them.

Anyway, if there's any team in the West that other teams must watch out with, it's the defending champs. I also put a huge bet on them on Stake that they will win the Western Conference, and the title as well. Cheesy
212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: End Goal or Keep HODLing? on: March 24, 2024, 06:56:05 PM
~
Also, I have the belief that Bitcoin will keep breaking new ATH forever. Should I leave my Bitcoin forever without selling it or set a goal that I have in mind and when it reaches that goal I sell and take my profits?
Just follow these 3 simple steps IN ORDER:
1. Sell during the bull market.
2. Buy during the bear market.
3. Continue accumulating after the bear market.

Right now, we are entering the bull run. It's a perfect time to sell your assets like Bitcoin or whatever crypto you are holding. Always, always take profit because the main goal of an investor is to make profits. Now when you sold your tokens already, wait for the bear market to happen, and that happens usually after the bull market. At that moment, you have the money that you got from selling your assets. When we are in a bear market, prices go down, and that's the perfect opportunity for you to buy Bitcoin or whatever cryptocurrency you want to buy. After the bear market comes the accumulation phase, and even though the prices at that time isn't as low as when it's still in the bear market, I can say that it's still a good time to buy some coins in preparation for the bull run.

Always take note that the market moves in cycles, so make a strategy based on the cycle as well. This kind of strategy takes time, but it works every time. Just imagine you bought some Bitcoins way back in 2020 and sold it in 2021 then bought again in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Holding your Bitcoin forever without selling is a stupid strategy because there will be a point where you will sell it for some reasons. As an investor, your main goal is to sell your assets and take some profits.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest Only In a Coin that Increase in Value in this Bull Run. on: March 24, 2024, 06:17:56 PM
~
Please steer clear and buy and invest in popular well known altcoins projects like Ethereum, Solana, Litecoin, dogecoin, and few more. Avoid any coin that is not improving in value.
You already shared some of them. TBH, it's hard to know which coin will increase in value during the bull run.
I've tried to follow EOS for quite some time especially in the past 2 bull runs. In 2021, it didn't even surpass it's previous ATH in 2017, and that alone is enough for me to convince that this is for me not a good coin to hold. I know, we have different factors on whether a coin is good to hold for long term or not.

If you want to approach the bull run in a conservative way, just invest into the top coins, or into the coins that OP shared. There are some good coins as well that's good to hold, and you can still make profit during the bull run. Top coins are less risky, but less rewarding as well. Lower market cap coins are more risky, but more rewarding. Overall, as long as you bought coins during the bear market in 2022 and in the year 2023, you will have profit at the end of the bull run, and that's certain.

I just don't recommend to buy during the bull market because we have given enough time to accumulate. Why only buy during and not before? Cheesy
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoin hype getting higher on: March 23, 2024, 05:44:13 PM
But it seems revolution happened in memeocin industry in the start of 2023.
Nah, it didn't start in 2023. I believe it started since Elon Musk promoted DOGE at around 2019 and 2021. I believe that was the start of the meme coin becoming more popular.
At that year, many coins appeared out of nowhere like SHIB which is now at the top. Although there are some meme coins that are still developing until now, most of them ended up as a scam coin as the developers just rug pulled their investors. Kind of unfortunate, but it is what it is. Smiley

Now memecoins are in demand due to the possibility of higher returns. And it makes people crazy. What's your opinion about this?
Always take note that "the higher the rise, the higher the fall".

We might see new meme coins here and there, but most of them will fall out a few months from now. They're being created just for the sake of profit. There might be some that might stay, and develop the project, but most will not and will decide to rug pull to their investors like what happened in 2021. Meme coins are getting hyped, and when this happens, yes there are some who might become millionaires just by investing into these type of coins, but most will lose their money. Meme coins have changed the lives of the investors both negatively, and positively.

To all who wants to join the hype, always think thrice about it, and be ready for the possible risks, and losses that you might face.

To summarize what you said OP, whatever happens, just continue holding for long-term. Cheesy
Don't think about the negatives of it, but look at the larger picture. Look at how Bitcoin moved in the past 15 years, and you will see that the price is going upwards.

Whatever happens, just hold your Bitcoin. Whatever happens, don't follow what most of the investors are doing. Be emotionless, and don't do what newbies are doing. Think of long-term when investing into Bitcoin, and forget about the negatives of it. I've been a Bitcoin holder for quite some time, and I must say that it had some problems as well like the ridiculous high transaction fees caused by those ordinals sh*t, but I don't care because I'm not affected at all. I only think of long-term like what most are doing, and I just believe that in the long run, Bitcoin will give me profits rather than losses.

Well, there are problems that we encountered in the past, and more in the future, but one thing is for sure. Bitcoin in the long run will give us profits. Just be patient. Smiley
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 23, 2024, 04:16:58 PM
Too bad for the Warriors they can't win another game.

They fall to the Pacers at home because of their bad 3 point shooting, Warriors shot 29% only while the Pacers shot 42%, huge difference, and we know when the Warriors are struggling outside, they'll likely lose the game, and that's what happen. With that loss they are now 36-33 at number 10 which is followed by the hot streaking rockets with 34-35... they are now close to each other and I'm afraid the Warriors will fall and will miss the play-in.
Been up 12 at one point, and ending up losing by 12 points.
I wonder what's happening with the Warriors. At one point, they're on a winning streak and winning 9 on their last 10 games but now, the only won 4 on their last 10 games.

TBH, I just don't know why Coach Kerr suddenly not let Kevon Looney play. I mean he's been a good center for the team, but in the last games, there are times where he isn't even playing. With the Warriors losing, and the Rockets winning, I'm afraid there might be a chance that the Rockets might clinch on that final spot letting the Warriors go down to 11th spot and will be eliminated. I want to see a classic Lakers Vs. Warriors match-up on the 9-10 spot, but I just hope that what happened in their last game will not happen again. IYKYK . Smiley

I'm seeing the warriors like the OKC team, they failed last season and now they are at the top and will not have to go with the play-in as they secured their spot. The OKC is a young team, unlike the Rockets where they already have the veterans that could help them in the playoffs, so if they'll miss it this season but will improve next season, they'll be a better team and will have a shot in the playoffs. They will also have a healthy Steven Adams next season, they'll be better for sure.
This is also the reason why the Thunder are the team to watch out in the next 3-5 years.

They might not win it this season due to inexperience in playoffs, but as they gain experience, they will be a team to watch out during the playoffs. Their core is very young lead by SGA, and with the right role players, they might reach the NBA Finals in 2-3 years at least. I just hope that they will not make that much trades on their key players, and focus more on acquiring role players that will help the team.

The Thunder already have a young and talented players, and an amazing coach. What they need now is experience.

There are many people here especially those newbie to member rank ones who are constantly aware of the merits they're getting. Hello everyone, I am a newbie and am in dire need of help as I'm eager to learn but I have little or no experience on how to navigate through the forum.
I joined the forum late 2022 but most of my discussions are being moved to off topics, probably because my discussions aren't of good qualities.
One of the reasons why I got depressed and left but I am back now, in good health and sane mind, ready to learn to improve the quality, and also give back positive impact to the community.
Pardon me with my words OP, but you're a bit sensitive IMO.

Most of your discussions are moved to off-topics and you got depressed already? I looked at your past topics that you've made, and fair enough, they really are good to be in the off-topic section. Mood Swings? K-Pop? Breakfast? Where you will put that thread that you created especially that K-pop thing LOL!!! Looking at the threads you created and your name, I assume that you're a female that's a bit sensitive. My apologies with my words, but as you stay longer here, you will hear criticisms, maybe some foul words, and some hurtful opinions coming from different users. Are you ready for that? If yes, then welcome back. Smiley

Please kindly recommend me books and guide on how to be better.
Thanks in advance
When I was starting, I only read books about financial literacy. I didn't read books about crypto because there wasn't any at that time (or there are some, but not that popular). There are 2 things that helped me learn more about crypto. Bitcointalk, and YouTube. Reading threads here, and watching documentaries online. Those 2 helped me learn more about crypto, and what I learned there is what I'm sharing here. I continued to read, and watch until I learned the basics only. Cheesy No time for the coding part or the complex ones.

Anyway, welcome back and I hope you will stay, and learn here. As for the rules, many have said it already. Continue learning, and invest in Bitcoin. Tongue

Are Altcoins really memecoins and why did you think so?
I will quote the definition of meme coins base on Investopedia:
Quote
"Meme coin" is a term used to refer to cryptocurrencies named after characters, individuals, animals, artwork, or anything else that can be mimicked.

Most meme coins are purely trading instruments, unlike Ethereum and other utility currencies tied to specific blockchain features. Major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, USD Coin, XRP, Cardano, Solana, Polygon, and Polkadot are generally not considered meme coins.
I guess that definition that I quoted answers your question. Ethereum isn't named after animals, artwork or whatever, and so does the other altcoins. Now to answer your question, yes meme coins are considered as altcoins, but altcoins can't be considered as meme coins because at first place, meme coins are just created for fun.

When the value of Bitcoin increases a lot, we start trading more. Which puts our trade management in jeopardy, during which most of the time people face loss.

What is your experience in this field?
It's true that traders have this kind of thinking where they will trade a lot and will try to maximize the bull market. Even those investors who aren't trading all of the sudden are trading already because why not? They believe that they will get profit still because we are in a bull run. Well, it might be true especially when you are trading in spot market, but there are some who are still losing money because they have no experience in trading whatsoever.

Good traders know when to enter and when not to. I've also did the same thing as well when I was newbie in trading. I still remember that I only make 1 entry and 1 exit in a span of 2 days, but when the bull market starts, IIRC I'm making around 3-4 or even 5 in the span of 2 days. At first, you might make some money off of it, but that isn't sustainable, and there might be a time where you will lose your money.

I'm thinking, I guess going to futures market, open a market with low leverage might work right? Let's say maybe x2-x4 leverage only, and just put it there until the bull run ends. You will not get liquidated that easily because of low leverage. Any opinion on that strategy that just came out on my mind? Cheesy
