1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Pi mining networks real? on: June 01, 2023, 11:04:13 PM
~
look at the people who attended the Pi-Network community meeting, it seems they are not people who understand crypto right, I'm pretty sure they are join this community because of tempted by the promise of profit and make them rich sooner. Indonesian old lady interested in crypto,  lol, Cool
You're judging a group of person based on looks? I don't think that it's a good thing to do that. I mean why judge them just by their looks?

Quote
Re: Is Pi mining networks real?
Right now, the price of PI Network in Coinmarketcap is around $22. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/pinetwork/
TBH, I remembered one project a few years ago where I participated in mobile mining, got some tokens from it, sold it, and got some profit. If somebody knows the project Electroneum still I think around 2017-2018 where ICO hype is at it's peak.

Is Pi mining networks real? It's a scam, and right now the price of it is at $22, but once the developers unlock the tokens that these "MINERS" got in their so-called mobile mining, the price of it will plummet, and that's 100% sure. What they did is a different way of airdropping their tokens to newbies. Here in our country, I've seen numerous posts of people trading their "MINED" Pi networks to something that has value like rice, or whatever that they need. I mean it's just absurd how people look at this network without proper researching. Well, they didn't invest anything aside from the fact that they might gave their private information to these scammers so... yeah.

Pi Network is a scam. The price of it will plummet anytime soon, and these miners will get shock when they see the developers dumping their own token first.
1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I Have Shared About The Benefits Of Bitcoin With My Friends on: June 01, 2023, 03:00:51 AM
1. Bitcoin Is Decentralized: I have shared with them that is is a decentralized cryptocurrency which is transferred from Peer to Peer. There is no middle man in Bitcoin transection and it's fully Safe. If you use non custodial wallet then your funds have no access without you.

2. Anonymous Transection: Every Bitcoin transection are normally fast and anonymous. It's very secured also. No need to submit personal or sensitive details at all. It has a limited supply which is 21 Million only. So day by day it's price and demand will increase because no new Bitcoin can be created.
I don't know if it's just me only, but when I was a newbie, I don't care about these 2 things.
Bitcoin being decentralized? Anonymous transaction? Why would I even care about that.

Until I learn more about cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, and the internet itself. It being decentralized is a big thing because nobody can control it. Just a bit correction Bitcoin transactions aren't completely anonymous because an expert can still track your transactions base on what's in the blockchain. Well, it's good that we don't need to share personal information when we are making transactions unlike banks where we need to go there, write our personal information before making transactions.

3. Can Gain Huge Returs : I have also shared that you can make huge profits by buying and holding it. But you have to buy when it's price is cheap and it's very easy to use. You just need to have an internet connection only which may be a limitations too. I also told about it's volatility but assured them if you buy at cheap at the end of the day you will win surely.
This is where you are wrong.

Huge profits by buying, and holding it? Well, it might partly true, but did you share that you can get potential losses while doing that? Buying, and holding isn't a guarantee profit FYI. There is still a chance that you might get losses during the process. This is why many new investors are losing money in cryptocurrency. They mindset that they can get huge returns in crypto is a mistake especially if they don't know what are the risk of investing into it.
1203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 01, 2023, 02:38:44 AM
How do you guys see game 1? It will be interesting to see the battle of strategies in this series. I'm thinking coach Spo will try to focus the defense on Murray and the supporting players. He knows they can't stop Jokic no matter who he puts to guard him so may as well let him take all the shots to tire him out as early as possible.
Denver will win in Game 1. That's my prediction.

Both Coach Spo, and Coach Malone are long time coaches in their respective teams especially Coach Spo, and we know how good of a tactician, and how good he analyzes everything in the court. Coach Spo might have an advantage over Coach Malone here in terms of experience, but Coach Malone has better players.

I don't expect too much in Game 1 because they will just show their strategies on that game. Game 2 would be better because there will be a big of adjustments in both teams, and with that we will see who is the better team in terms of adjustments for their opposing team. I also wonder who will guard Jokic most of the time. Like I said in my previous posts, Bam will be having a hard time guarding him, and when the Heat try to double him, Jokic can easily see the open player to shoot threes. I guess better rotation might be the answer, but let's see how will it goes.
1204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dad's retirement money is invested in Bitcoin! on: June 01, 2023, 01:18:47 AM

My father is a military man. He has served in this military sector for 25 years. His term of service is almost at an end. After two months he was going to retire from the job. He will get retirement pension after his service life in the military sector and he has many plans based on this retirement pension.
I don't know if it's just me, but people who served for their own country are highly respectable, so I give respect to your father.

His first dream is to build a house with this retirement money. But right now in my country all the materials needed to build a house are very expensive so building a house right now can't be a good decision. And I don't feel safe keeping his pension money in the bank because earlier there was inflation in my country where some banks went bankrupt.
It depends on what type of house your father wants. Is it a bungalow? A 2-story building?
Well, I agree with what you said that housing materials are very expensive because of what happened last year, but there's always a way to build a house with the retirement money that your father has. On the other hand, if you have a house to live in then better wait for the prices to go down I guess - if it will goes down. As for putting money in a bank, I don't see any reason for your father to put it there aside from it being an emergency funds.

So right now I am not able to give him any proper advice as a boy. But one thing I've been wondering for a few days is if I invest half of my father's retirement allowance in Bitcoin, am I doing something wrong?
I feel like if I invest half the amount in Bitcoin for a year after receiving his retirement allowance, I might be able to hand over more money to my dad at the end of the year.
Hope I get proper advice from you.
Half of your father's retirement money into Bitcoin? I don't know if you're just insane, or like you said you can't think properly when it comes to investing, but that's too much of a risk for your father to handle. I'd say if you really want your father to invest into Bitcoin, don't invest a huge amount.

It's not your money, but your father's. For sure your father wants to enjoy the money that he got from his retirement, so obviously he will spend some of it to buy anything he wants. Anyway, if I'm your father I will not risk half of my money just to invest into something that's very risky. I'd suggest to let him decide what he wants to do with his money, but on the other hand, ask him some question that is related not only with Bitcoin, but investing in general, but I doubt that your father will risk half of his hard-earned money, and invest it into Bitcoin unless you will force him to do it.
1205  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the most significant trading sacrifice you believe you have made? on: May 31, 2023, 06:13:32 AM
Hmmm, None Cheesy.

I don't need to sell other things that I have just to have money to trade. I don't want to risk it, sell those important things that I obviously need for something that is very risky, has a high chance of losing money especially if you don't know what you are doing, and has a potential to change your life negatively. I prefer a lesser stressful route, and that is to focus on building a base for the long term thru long term investing. I'm purely investing on long term coins.

I know that there are some people out there who can sacrifice what they have for trading. Some of them went on to become successful traders like the one OP has shared to us, while there are some who sacrificed whatever they need to sacrifice, sold all of their belongings only to end up losing money which is quite unfortunate for them.

Well, I guess I'm lucky that I didn't quit my job for trading because I would be doomed if I did that. Cheesy
1206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A good way to help our children. on: May 31, 2023, 03:14:21 AM
Our children will not be as lucky as we are, we have to help them to know about bitcoins on time so they can have some for themselves.
Well, it's a good thing that we teach our children anything that we know not only on Bitcoin, but in investing in general. On the other hand, it's good to think as well that if the child doesn't want it, don't force him/her to get involved into it.

We are lucky because we are of age to know and understand what bitcoin is at this time when the value of bitcoins is still expected to increase not like our children who have no idea and it may be too late for them to make any gain from bitcoin when they finally know about bitcoins if you leave them.
I disagree with the bolded text. So you mean that our children in the future might not make any gain from Bitcoin because it's might be high at that time? You mean that if I have a children when the price of Bitcoin is $100,000, it will stay at that price, and will not go up anymore? They can still make gains from Bitcoin as long as the price of it goes up.

A good gift any parent can give to their children for their future is to enlighten their children about bitcoins so they have some knowledge about it at an early age and buy some for the children even before they can begin to get for themselves. What do you think?
Teaching our children about Bitcoin is a good gift, but it isn't only the good gift that we parents can share to them.
You can never go wrong with knowledge indeed, but it would be better to teach our children with regards to investing in general, and not only Bitcoins. Teach them the do's and don'ts in investing. Teach them the must follow tips and tricks that will help them not get scammed. Teach them everything that you know in order for them to be a successful investor in the future. Don't teach them only Bitcoin. Teach them the fundamentals.
1207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price is always affected by world market news, why ??? on: May 31, 2023, 02:04:13 AM
The market is always changing according to world news. It has nothing to do with bitcoin
Markets is heavily driven by sentiments of the investors.
Investors rely heavily on news in terms of when they will invest or not.
Therefore, Bitcoin's price is heavily affected by the news because some or most of the investors are basing on the news on whether they will invest or not.

This kind of thing has been happening for years already, and since my start here in the crypto industry, I've seen Bitcoin's price go up, and down just because of the news that's being spread on different platforms. In 2017, I remember that Bitcoin's price moves by at least double digit percentage most of the time, if the news is positive, and vice-versa. Nowadays, news doesn't have that much effect on the price of Bitcoin anymore, but still there's a bit of it, but not as much as what it was in 2017.

Overall, an an investor, it would be better if we will base on charts rather on the news.
1208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 31, 2023, 12:50:16 AM
Who would've thought that this fat person from Serbia will become the face of the biggest basketball in the world right now. I mean at first glance, you will look at him as an unathletic person who is just sitting there watching movies etc. Now he is on the road to give the Nuggets their first title in franchise history. I just shared it because until now, I'm amazed on how many teams passed on him. He's the 41st pick in the NBA draft if some here don't know, and he was drafted behind the scenes, and there was a taco bell commercial when it happened.

One thing's for sure (at least for me). Top draft picks doesn't mean better player. Sometimes, you will see better players at the bottom spot of the draft like Jokic.

~

It could be a tough match-up for the Denver, Bam vs Jokic will be the one that I want to see. And then we have the trio of undrafted players in Caleb Martin, Mas Struss and Gabe Vincent maybe playing Jamay Murray.

I don't see a sweep though, Denver might win their first NBA title, but it might be 4-2.

And I think majority see Denver winning?
Bam Vs. Jokic? Possible, but take note that the Heat have a very small line-up. If Jokic decided to stay beyond the three point area, and pass more, Bam's defense will adjust therefore, other Nuggets players are free to drive in the paint because other players are really small. I mean besides Bam which is 6'9", the tallest of them already is 3 6'7" players, and they aren't using Love, and Zeller that much as well. I'm not saying that it's impossible, but Bam will be having a hard time. Just imagine this. Davis who has been the best in terms of defense during the playoffs is just wasn't enough for Jokic, then how can Bam cope up with him.

Nuggets in 5, and I will stick with it. If it's the Celtics, I might predict 6-7 games, but it's the Heat. I'm not underestimating the Heat though, but the Nuggets is just an amazing team all throughout the season, and they manage to stay at the top even though the standings in the West are very close.
1209  Economy / Economics / Re: Will chatgpt really destroy the job market? on: May 30, 2023, 10:29:36 PM
I saw an analogy that is a perfect fit for this question a few days ago.

Some might saw this already, but in a Facebook post, there's 2 pictures where the picture on the left is a photographer that's in a helicopter, and the picture on the right is a drone. In that, there's a caption that says "In just 10 years, the photographer losses his job."

I can't find the post, and I don't know the exact caption either, but the point is if you will not adopt to your environment, chances of you losing your job really is high. ChatGPT might destroy, and totally replace some of the jobs out there, but on the other hand, those who are expert in using ChatGPT will see this is a new opportunity for them to find a job. Many people might lose their job, but if they will adopt, and learn how to use ChatGPT on their advantage, and maximize it, they will not lose their job for sure.

Technology really is evolving, and on a rapid pace, and people must adopt into it, and maximize it thus, they might really lose their jobs.
1210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Diversification of Scam Techniques in Cryptocurrency on: May 30, 2023, 07:04:23 AM
As the scammers have been informed that people are now being more sensitive about NFTs and the related scams associated to many of the meme tokens in cryptocurrency, they have now shifted concentration from NFTs to memecoins where they think people feels more secured than with tokens, their new target now is on memecoins just as they have been doing before and there's a need to raise this awareness for everyone investing in cryptocurrency.
No surprise at all.

Whatever the hype currently is where the scammers are. ICO's are hype, scammers are there to scam newbies. DeFi projects are hyped, they are there as well. NFT's are hyped 2 years ago, they are also there, and now meme coins are now the hyped project, and they are there. It's like an Owner-Dog relation where the hyped project is the owner, and the dog are the scammers. Wherever the hype/owner is, the scammers/dog is also there. Cheesy My apologies for that analysis.

The news came in after some research had been taken by people to find out that about twenty four (24) memecoins have been liquidated and rugpulled within the last 10 days, the warning is for you to open your eyes and know the kind of digital coin you will be investing on, make your research very well and know the risk involved, we don't know which coin, token or centralized exchange is next and in for rugpull, bankruptcy, got attacked or turn scam anytime.
Meme coins have been hyped a few years ago as well when SHIB was out of nowhere at the top already in terms of market cap, and has passed DOGE at that time.

Investors really don't learn from mistakes don't they? Whatever the hype is, investors will try their luck, and invest into some new memecoins out there hoping that they will earn money from it. 24 meme coins in just 10 days? It's just unfortunate to see investors losing money in these type of projects, but at the same time, I feel like they deserve to be scammed because they aren't learning. I just hope that those who lost their money investing into these meme coins learned their lesson already.

Henceforth you're no more a slave to centralized digital currencies or share the risk of investing on scam tokens or memecoins that may put you into shame later, every beginners can start with bitcoin because it's reliable and decentralized.
Just focus on the coins in terms of market cap.
Lesser stress, lesser risk. Yes lesser rewards, but that would be better than investing into some shitcoins out there that has the highest risk. I mean it's my own perspective to focus on the top market cap coins because I don't want to get stressed in terms of my investments.
1211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto influencers secrets that all newbies should be aware of on: May 30, 2023, 06:17:58 AM
He swore that many new projects have tried to pay him to talk about some shit coins on his YouTube, which he always turned down, he also said he plan to quit this influencers thing for twitch streaming instead( gaming online ) because crypto influencer is all about feeding people lies upon lies, and he doesn't feel good about it.
~
Know what you are doing, gain knowledge yourself and make your own decisions, if you fail it's even better, you will be able to adjust yourself than following someone blindly.
Thanks for what you said, but in my perspective, I don't see it as a secret anymore because I've known this a long time ago already. This is also the reason why I don't watch any videos on Youtube that talks about new projects, meme coins, shitcoins, and some buy recommendations. What I only watch are the videos that are related to technical analysis of a particular high market cap coin like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, etc.

Nevertheless, this is a wake-up call for those newbies out there who are watching, and supporting the influencer that they've always watch on Youtube. I hope that this thread will wake up the minds of those newbies who are solely following the recommendations of these Crypto Influencers hoping that they will make profit on it. I guess this is the time for those who are following some crypto influencers to stop watching them, and instead watch educational videos that will help you learn more about crypto. Avoid videos that are talking to new projects, coin recommendation, meme coin, shitcoins and the like.

Gaining knowledge is the key always. Don't be a blind investor, and rely on what these Youtube crypto influencers are saying. Do your own research like what we always say. Learn the basics of crypto because it will help you know which coins are good to invest, and which are not.

Re: At How Much Price You First Saw The Bitcoin?
Around $2000-$4000 at around August of 2017.
I'm pretty sure that there are some here who saw Bitcoin at a lower price.

It's really a great feelings when I was searching my transections through Bitcoin in my old Coinbase Account . And saw that I have made many transections when the Bitcoin price was around 586$ only. Yes it's only Because this Bitcoin already hit above 60k $. I am enjoying today's moment because today I have imagined my past and it was the golden era of Bitcoin. I am talking about 2016.

Today I have again learnt a good lesson that Hold is Gold. I have made many transections and I had a decent amount of Bitcoins but If I could hold them then I would become one of a successful Holder. But my luck wasn't so good I think. But I still have chances because Bitcoin is now also in a very cheap price. So Always Keep Trust On Bitcoin And Hold Tightly. At the end of time you will win surely.
Golden era of Bitcoin? Last 2016? Can somebody elaborate this one for me because I only started to involve into cryptocurrency August-September of 2017. I'll be grateful to somebody who will explain it to me. Smiley

Well, base on the price movement of Bitcoin in the last decade, Hodling really is the way to earn money aside from trading of course. If you aren't a good trader, simply holding will give you more profit. Unfortunately, most of the investors don't have the patience to hold Bitcoin for a long time, and when they see somebody holding a huge amount of Bitcoins, and he bought it way when Bitcoin is just a few years old, they will feel envious, but might change their way of investing into Bitcoin after that.

I also made huge transactions when Bitcoin's price was at 4 digits. My largest transaction with the use of Bitcoin is when I built my very own PC. I think the price of Bitcoin at that time is at $9,000, and if I'm not mistaken, I spent around 0.09 BTC just to build a PC. Not feeling disappointed or regret because I didn't know that Bitcoin's price will reach $60,000 a few years after that, but I learned from it that I must continue holding Bitcoins for at least 5 years or even longer to achieve maximum profit possible.
1213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin as a retirement plan for my parents on: May 30, 2023, 03:44:58 AM
My friend made good return after the halving around 2021 (He is a believer of HODL) and i made some too( am not someone known for their patience) but was still filled with regret due to selling earlier.
There really are times where investors really regret their decision whenever they are selling way too early, but the reality is you don't know what will be the next movement of Bitcoin after you sold it. After you sold, there's a chance that it might go down thus, you will not regret your decision because you sold at the right time. On the other hand, there are times where after you sold your Bitcoins, it goes up even higher. You will feel regret, but take note that by the time you sold it, you don't know what would be the next move of Bitcoin. I guess currently you already moved on with that regret. Just be contented with your profits.

My country is known for some group of guys called yahoo boys who deal sometimes in crypto scam(a reason crypto is banned in my country) now if you tell most people in my country that you deal in crypto you are branded like one of the boys. My parents are not different they frown against it thinking crypto is a means of scamming others thus biased to stocks.

The FTX bankruptcy that lead to a massive dip in Bitcoin didn't help either. The loss affected my confidence in Bitcoin (cut me some slack knew nothing of this forum) and my parents who I almost convinced took it as been unprofitable and filled with losses.
Feel sorry for your losses because of the FTX drama I guess.
I also feel sorry that you're living in one of the few countries in the world where crypto is banned.

I also felt that way when I was starting. Like you, I also have huge losses in my total crypto portfolio back a few years ago. I also lost confidence at that time, but you know what I did. I believed in crypto. I believe that I can recover those losses in the future, so I choose to hold it, and that's one of the best decisions that I've made. Convince your parents that losses are just impermanent, and tell to them that it will recover soon.

They are close to retirement and still believe in saving in banks and buying stocks. I don't really know how I could go about convincing them to invest some idle funds in Bitcoin since my father is kinda headstrong.

I am also planning on buying some Bitcoin when I have some free funds rather than using them for something with no real benefit. Where can I buy Bitcoin at the minimum amount possible like the minimest(I know not an English word) amount possible so I can accumulate easily. Thanks in advance

Buying stocks is still a good thing since you're investing still, but on a less volatile, and a safer type of investment than crypto. Saving in banks is a no-no unless it is for emergency funds.
If you can't convince them to buy Bitcoin, at least just convince them to just focus on the stock market. In that way, they're still investing. It would be a lot safer compare to crypto, and better than just saving it on banks.

Planning is useless without action, and capital. Save money as much as possible so you can stack Bitcoin as many as possible. Where can you buy Bitcoin? Centralized exchanges are the ones that I can recommend.
1214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 30, 2023, 03:18:16 AM
Well deserved win for Heat. They made it to the finals from 8th seed, first time in history -except short lockout season-.
3-0 to 3-3 teams lost again, that's 151-0 now. Either way we had witnessed a historical moment.
I will just add some history with this one.
- The Heat are the 2nd 8th seeded team in NBA history to clinch the NBA Finals. First is the 98-99 Knicks.
- The Celtics are the 4th team to force a Game 7 after being down 0-3. The first 3 teams who forced it has been played away, thus they lost. Celtics are the first ones to play on their home, and yet they lost.
- The Heat are now 68-0 in franchise history when they are leading by 10+ point entering 4th quarter.
- The whole Heat team got 12 turnovers. Brown himself got 8 turnovers.

They lost because they shot very awful on the three-point area. In the first half alone, they only got 1 three point shot out of many attempts. If somebody here watched, and observed the whole series, you already knew that the Celtics will lost just because of how bad they shot threes. When they needed it the most, they failed from it. "Live by three, Die by three". That's their motto, and tonight they lost because of it.

It's just unfortunate that Tatum was not in his perfect condition when the game ended. I think it should have been a much closer game had he not twisted that ankle in the middle of the game.

It was literally the first attack, first minute of the game. It's very unfortunate for Celtics, but there are such moments in sports, that's the part of the game.
White also had a small injury and Jaylen Brown, I don't know what to say. He choked so bad. On the other hand Caleb Martin had the best game of his career.
Tatum suffered from a left ankle injury at the very first minute of the game, and you can see how hurtful it is base on his reaction after that. I believe that hinders him to play with full potential. On the other hand, their second best player in Brown just choked all throughout the game. How can he get 8 turnovers in a single game, and shot only 8/23. As an all-NBA team, that's unacceptable.

I think that the Nuggets has to do something with this undrafted players of the Heat. Caleb Martin is the X-factor on this game. Their 4 undrafted players scored almost half of their total points. It's just amazing how Coach Spo develop these undrafted players to the point where they can carry the whole team offensively when needed the most. Congratulations to the whole Heat team. Now they will be facing the Nuggets a few days from now. I'm just thinking what the match-ups will be.
- Murray Vs. Butler. Murray is also a good defender, aside from him being a terrific shooter. There are times where he stopped Lebron in their series against the Lakers, so I think he can do something to stop Butler.
- Jokic Vs. Huh, and I don't think that Adebayo can keep up with him TBH, so I don't know who will defend him in most of the game.

Aside from that, the Nuggets also have MPJ, Brown, and KCP to defend those undrafted players. It's a good run for the Heat TBH, but I predict that this will end in 5 games. That's how good the Nuggets is this season for me.
1215  Economy / Economics / Re: What to do with all guy who loss money to stock market on: May 29, 2023, 10:06:32 AM
The crazy part about the stock market is every young guy thinks he is going to get in and trade himself a couple % in profits per day and be rich in a year. It just doesn’t work like that. Those people get bled dry. Unfortunately, it takes age and wisdom to see that being debt free and slowly building a portfolio of dependable companies or index funds is truly the way to reach financial freedom. Slow and steady…
When I was a newbie, I also thought that the stock market will be the same as crypto where you can get profits on a daily basis, but I was wrong. I tried to do day trading in the stock market for a few days, but it doesn't work because the price movement of stocks aren't that high compare to crypto which is more volatile.

Slowly building a portfolio of good companies. This is my main goal when it comes to investing into the stock market, and I'm currently doing it. I'm currently investing into some big companies already in our country, and has been there for a very long time. I also got inspired by Warren Buffet where he just studied lots of stocks, bought it, and just held it for decades. Now he is earning billions of dollars without doing anything thru dividends which is the closest to passive income.

Maybe I'm a bit fortunate that I'm still debt free right now, and at the same time, slowly building a portfolio in the stock market.

Hi, I hope you are all doing well. I am a teacher and teach students about IT. But from my job, I cannot fulfil my expenses that why start learning about Bitcoin the last 3 months my friend told me about the Bitcointalk forum in start working on bounties but not earned any money yet Now he said to make post other section will help me to trade and earning. I read the rules before posting. Can someone guide me on how I manage my time and earn money from trading what is an effective way to start?
You're an IT teacher like you said. I'm pretty sure that you know a skill that you can offer online right? I mean you know how to use computers since you're an IT graduate, and you're teaching it as well.

How to manage your time? It's only you that can answer that question. There was a time where I can't manage my time as well, and the only thing that I did is I sat alone in my bedroom, listed all the things that I'm doing on a daily basis, and putting a time on what time will I do a particular thing. Don't procrastinate as well because sometimes procrastinating is the reason why we are lacking time to do other things. List the things that you're doing daily, and from that put a specific time where you will do that thing if it's time.

Now how to earn money from trading. If you're a newbie, forget about earning because most of the newbies in trading don't earn profit in the mid to long run. I'm not saying all, but when I was a newbie, I lost half or more than half of my capital in trading. Fortunately that isn't the case now since I know what I'm doing already, but in your case if you're a newbie then forget earning. Experience will teach you along the away, so just spend a few bucks on your first try in trading. I don't usually recommend watching on Youtube, but TBH that's where I learned trading, so I guess I'll say to watch some Youtube videos that will give you information that will help you in your trading journey.

I think in your case, it would be better if you will focus on teaching students while being a freelancer first, and then be a full-time freelancer.
1217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating unemployed friends about Bitcoin on: May 29, 2023, 06:48:10 AM
First of all I am the only person in my area who has a basic understanding of Bitcoin. That is, in the region where I live, no one but me knows about Bitcoin.
It's either you are overrating yourself though you are telling the truth and you're the only one who knows Bitcoin in your place, or there might be a chance that there are some people in your place who knows Bitcoin or at least heard Bitcoin already. You just don't know. Well, if you asked them one by one regarding Bitcoin, and no one really knows what is it then I guess you are telling the truth in this one.

When we walk together I talk to them about Bitcoin but they tell me that they have only heard about Bitcoin on various social media and they think that if anyone is involved in Bitcoin, the administration of our country will arrest them.
This is why misinformation is very dangerous especially online.
I'm pretty sure that your friends are misinformed about what's the truth about being involved in Bitcoin. Nowadays, it's very hard for a newbie to know which information are true, and which are not. With too many influencers online that are spreading false information on their different social media pages, the ones who want to spread the real information are being left behind, and no one is listening to them because of these influencers.

Because it is through this kind of news that they are aware of Bitcoin. But when I tell them that I have a rough understanding of Bitcoin. Then they don't want to believe me when I tell them all about bitcoin they believe me. And I assure them if we all get involved in Bitcoin maybe our unemployment will go away. Because there are enough ways to earn money with Bitcoin.
Take time to guide your friends. It's the only way for them to know the truth.
I believe that you will guide them, and for sure you don't want them to be unemployed forever right? You already said that there are many ways to earn Bitcoin, and if you know some of it then care to share it to them so they can earn as well.

Out of all my friends two of my friends have some savings and when I told them about the investment they became very interested in investing but I didn't tell them only the positive aspects of the investment I told them the negative aspects. And I know the rest of my friends would also be interested in learning about Bitcoin but I just don't know how to start teaching them about it. Because bitcoin crypto currency is completely illegal in my country. So how can I help my friends in this regard?
Ohhh so Bitcoin is illegal in your country, eh?

I guess just forget teaching Bitcoin to them, and instead let them find a job, and go out of unemployment. Since Bitcoin is illegal in your country, it would be better for them to just let them do their own research with regards to Bitcoin. Just think of this. What if your friends know Bitcoin already thanks to you, and then one time they shared information regarding Bitcoin to other people, and knowing that it's banned in your country, there might be a chance that an authority might know that you, and you're friends are involved with it. Are you ready for the consequences?

Hope you guys can give me proper feedback on this and help me move forward in helping them.
You help them? It might be the other way around, and you might be in trouble if you will continue to teach them.
Unless you will teach them how to use Bitcoin in your country without getting banned then I guess just continue teaching them. There are many information online that will help you. TBH, if I'm in your shoes, I will not teach anybody regarding Bitcoin just because our government banned it in our country.
1218  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2024 halving less than 1 year away on: May 29, 2023, 06:16:06 AM
While not getting too bogged down in the timing which is dependant on whether there continues to be hash rate growth (to bring it forward) or not, when do you think the bull market will start?
I expect that it will be a few months after the halving.

The thing is that, we don't know if it will be the same as what happened last 2021 & 2017, or it will be a different one. I mean there's a chance that if investors think that it will happen a few months after the bull run, chances are they might buy earlier than the expected halving thus, we might see the price of Bitcoin starting to go up even though the halving isn't happening yet. On the other hand, we might see Bitcoin starting to go up after the halving like what happened in 2021.

Overall, I expect the bull run to start in 2024, and will continue in 2025 before we see the market going bear again in the year 2026. It's only my prediction though, and we might see a different scenario in the next years, or we might see something that hasn't happen in the crypto space yet. Take note that Bitcoin is very unpredictable when it comes to price movement.

The way Denver sweeps the Lakers. I will go with both of you. The chance that they can also sweep whoever wins the East finals
might also take place, if both Jokic and Murray will play that same monstrous game when they beat Lakers.

Head-to-head comparison though, either who will win in Eastern Conference Finals, we can't deny the fact that Denver Nuggets is really the team to beat. Putting a defense against Nikola Jokic is already a problem and I don't see who can defend him "properly in the entire game" from either Boston Celtics or Miami Heat.
I agree with you that the Nuggets are the favorites to win the title right now, but I disagree with what @carlisle1 said that they will sweep whoever will win in the East.
It's either we are underestimating both East teams, or we are just overrating the Nuggets just because of how they swept the Lakers.

As for Jokic's defenders, if the Heat somehow will win in Game 7, the best one will be Adebayo, but it will be hard for the Heat since there's a chance that the paint will be open for Murray, and others to drive since aside from him, there's no other big man for the Heat already, and they can't put Zeller, and Adebayo at the same time. For the Celtics, Horford will be the one who will defend him for sure. Horford manage to stop Embiid in Game 7, and he is performing well in this series against the Heat as well. TBH, the NBA Finals would be better if the Celtics will win because they have a better chance of winning than the Heat if they'll face the Nuggets. Just my opinion though.

Remember when the Lakers are dealing with the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, Coach Darvin Ham executes different strategies just to contain Jokic, at least. He put Davis, one of the best defenders in the league, and seems not effective. He also puts Hachimura to guard Jokic but ended up tired as he also puts efforts on offense. Vanderbilt, Schroder etc. Nothing really works in the long run. Aside from that, when Murray got heated, he was nailing his shot anywhere on the field regardless if it was contested or not. That's how hot his hands are this playoff.
This will be the problem for either the Heat of the Celtics. How they can stop Jokic if one of the best defenders in Davis can't stop him as well. I guess the best one will be a double team, but with how good of a passer Jokic is, for sure he will see the open player if their opponent decides to double him.

Murray is the one who needs to be stopped in this playoffs, but that alone is hard as well. Also take note that aside from Murray, and Jokic, they also have very good role players in KCP, Brown, Braun, MPJ, and Gordon who can help in offense just in case their 2 best players are having a hard night. Overall, it will be a problem for the winner in the East on how they will stop Jokic, and Murray, but I would want to see the Celtics winning because they're the better defender, and has a higher chance to win against the Nuggets than the Heat.

As for post reviews, it’s quite unorthodox to ask for a post review this way as there are merit threads on Meta and B&H but I have seen a few others do the same and got what they wanted.
There is a similar thread that's been created by a user almost a month, and in that thread, he got 5 merits. I guess that the OP is hoping that it would be the same scenario with him. Posting a same thread, and hope that there will be somebody that will give merit to him.

Requesting for a post review thru making an achievement thread? I guess it would be better if OP just posted it on some merit giving threads out there instead of making a thread like this. An achievement maybe for the OP, but for others like me, this is more of a merit-begging thread because of that "post review" thing. Aside from that, can I ask OP if you already tried to PM The Sceptical Chymist already because he's the one who is doing post reviews to those who are deserved.

~
I'm not going to congratulate OP on making 1000 posts, because I've never congratulated anyone for making a certain number of posts, and unless it's an extremely large number....what's the big deal?  All of these self-congratulatory threads are really starting to get under my skin.
Too harsh as always.
I'm already thinking of making an achievement thread for my 9000th post, and for my 10000th post, but after I saw this, I think I will just keep it myself. JK  Grin

Anyway, 1000 posts is easy to achieve TBH, but it depends on how often you are posting. If you are posting like a hundred posts per week (which has been done by some of the users here), you can achieve that 1000 posts in less than 16 days. Like what I said in the similar thread, I guess it would be better to just lock this thread already. I don't see the significance of this thread aside from the fact that you are indirectly asking for merits thru post review. BitcoinGirl.Club also created a thread for us to put our achievements there so why create a new thread.
