probably a potential handing over of class from a old generation to the new era.
I guess Djokovic wont be retiring anytime soon but I honestly still want Djokovic to win this though. Anyway they are both 16 years apart and by the time Djokovic started his professional career, Alcaraz is still a few months infant they are totally both coming from a different era I really don't know though, but one thing I know for sure is that whichever one of them wins the title have more than earned it here, you get. I really do love Djokovic too, and I love the fact that there is at least one veteran out there active in tennis showing these young generation players the need for consistency, because I can't imagine if the likes of Ruud, Rune, Tsitsipas, Sinner and co, are all we to compete against Alcaraz for the top ranks in tennis, that means there is becoming some level of decline in the sport quality over time, because most the mentioned players are top 10, and I don't believe I'm seeing distinct improvement in their level of competitiveness, not if a 36 years old Djokovic is having relatively easy against any one of them, I mean no disrespect Djokovic because he manage to keep himself fit and stay agile over the years, and this really should be the time that these young players begin to stress him according to his age, but they barely look as fit as Djokovic does.

I don't know if it's right to pay this much for Kane. They can get it for free at the end of the season. I don't think it's unreasonable to buy this year. Maybe if they can evaluate Osimhen, they can get the same efficiency from him. Next year, Harry Kane can sign him for free without signing any contract.
Osimhen is actually much more worthy of Bayern Munich, but if the price is also much higher than Kane or not much different from Kane. I think Bayern Munich will also face the same situation in this regard even though on the other hand Bayern Munich can get Kane next season as a free agent. But that is another story because Bayern Munich are improving themselves to be better next season with the implementation of a precise strategy from Tuchel. Bayern Munich would be very dumb to have sold Lewandowski and now trying to get Harry Kane for twice as much the price while Harry Kane would also be 30 years old in a few weeks, so Bayern Munich would be better off with players like Kolo Muani or Victor Osimhen who is actually just 24 years of age and still have a whole career ahead of him, while Harry Kane have how many years left at most to perform at the top of his form. Tottenham would be the biggest loser here, because they'll lose Kane for free next season, and I strongly don't think a trophyless Kane would want to end his career at a trophyless club era, that make go down as the most unfortunate No. 9 to have performed at world class level and can rated as one of the top 10 centre forward scoring to have ended his career trophyless, Kane really deserves much better.

-snip Tomorrow mens semifinal. If Sinner will managed to win oneset against Nole, it will be already good achievement, while other match between Alcaraz and Medvedev should be much more interesting, though Alcaraz is favorite there.
not sure about Sinner chances, he took two sets last year, but didn't had any chance to win (being even close to win that one), looking at that, seems that all end-ups on when Djokovic will start playing his tennis, what Sinner took up to that point is his maximum regarding Alcaraz and Medvedev, I think that Alcaraz will win 3:0 easily, from what both showed so far One of the easiest bet to place for me; Sinner still being Sinner always failing to show up or stand up to the challenges at grand stages, I was at my most optimistic self sure he wouldn't force more than a tie break, but still fail to win a set, while I had Alcaraz vs Medvedev to game have no tie break, I was sure that even if they go all the way to 5 set there would still almost zero breakpoint imo. I think the Alcaraz vs Djokovic final is best thing any could ask for, for this year's Wimbledon final, any other match up could be a one sided game as we've seen a couple of times in their route to the final, so I think this is the only match up that can provide the atmosphere we are looking forward to as spectators, probably a potential handing over of class from a old generation to the new era.

no final for Sinner. not being able to reach the final is not a surprise.... the bookmakers quoted his victory today between @4.5 / @4.80 ... after so many defeats due to injuries at least he seems to have found a decent physical form .. and he is certainly a player who will play at a very high level in the next few years Yes, until Jannik Sinner learns how to play against the top players, he'll remain a player that just keeps getting eliminated at the semi finals or quarter finals, a title just synonymous to king of the underdogs. He's a very good player and I think he has a great mentality too, but he needs to be less predictable and add more dynamism to his game that can make him adapt to any opponent style and other unfortunate scenarios.

That second set would've been it for Sabalenka, I thought it'll go 2-0 when she broke Ons in the second set but Ons held on and broke her twice to force a third set. The momentum carried on to the third set and Sabalenka kept making unforced errors while Ons was locked in. Now I have to rely on the last two questions but with my luck, I might go 0/5. It was quite a huge come back for Ons Jabeur, I really didn't see that coming, I thought oh, yeah here we go with another easy semi final just like the first one, seeing Ons fight back game by game was crazy impressive, and especially after being one set down, she really is mentally though, and it was that mentally toughness that saw her through to the finals today. It's going to be one hell of a final between Ons and Vondrousova, because I don't see that fixture going one sided.
|
|
|
She actually was very pumped to start the game until it the game was 3-3, I believe the second consecutive serve lost for her made her mentality switched drastically and it went all downhill from there, Vondrousova broke her first to take a 3-2 lead, but Svitolina returned the favour instantaneously to make it 3-3, thereafter she couldn't hold serve again, until the did it became and easy one for Vondrousova. if as a pro tennis you break a player's serve in 2 consecutive serve and you don't get to win the set, I don't know how much mental boost you could have needed to win such set in the first place.

Watched first semifinal and my prediction already won't become true as Svitolina lost to Vondrousova. Svitolina didn't looked fresh today and from her body talk it didn't looked that she can win today. Though, at one moment in 2nd set it looked that she can make comeback when from 0:4 she went to 3:4, but then Vondrousova won break. Other semifinal is final worthy match and nothing surprising that score is 5:5, both players winning their serves. She started the game pretty well, but then after the first game her body language went from 100 to Love (as they'll refer to zero in Tennis), all her moves and game plays became telegraphed and it became an easy read for Vondrousova to counter all the efforts from Svitolina, I really would have loved her to go through, but today Vondrousova deserved it, honestly. I might have jinxed it for Svitolina, but I had my money on her so it wasn't a facade support from me.

I already told you guys there is a plan to have DOTA, CS:GO and LOL in BSFL as representatives for eSports. DOTA has already been included several times and I am looking to do others as well. Problem is I am following DOTA mostly and it is easiest for me to do that question since I know when big tournaments are played and I know enough to make quality question. Will definitely try to get that CS into the questions.
My favorite site to research CS:GO is hltv.org
Man I hate web sites with more adds than content, but OK. Bookmarked the site so I'm prepared for the CS:GO questions... I see that a lot of you went with the option that Mexico will win the final by 1 goal. I thought about it but it looked to me like there is a better chance for them to cover 1,5 handicap than to win by exactly 1 goal. I just checked and I see that they won 3-0 against Jamaica so I guess it's a "wins confidently" :-) For CS:GO you'll not find another site better than HLTV.org and you'll also see it is far way easier to understand CSGO than you'll ever come close to Dota at first glance, and in my opinion HLTV have way more content to ads ratio for any centralised website that is being accessed for free, including these so called social medias. for CSGO, you'll not lose the slightest of information if you make use of hltv.
I'm sorry to whoever I'm be going against with my choice, because I'm currently tuned in to Svitolina game in the semi final, and I going with her all the way.

How do you already know you got a point? Maybe I am missing something but there is still 4 girls left and there is no guarantee that anybody gets point yet unless you picked Jabeur, Vondorusova - Jabeour. Maybe I am missing something obvious here and I was too lazy tired to check the actual spreadsheet I was thinking way too positively earlier after the upset and you're right anything can still happen now that 3/4 underdogs made it through the semis. It's been a wild west in Wimbledon this year, there have been so many upset and majorly in the WTA, but still ATP have also had its own fair share of upsets, from Ruud losing 3-0 Broady, and Eubanks making quite an impression for a player just making he's debut in Wimbledon, he was on the verge of ousting Medvedev too, just 2 days after his huge win against Tsitsipas. I'm really rooting for Elina Svitolina to make the finals and possibly win the title too, If she can defeat Iga Swiatek in such a convincing manner, also get pass Vondorusova in the semi finals, I strongly believe she's going for the title, while it would be tough choice for me to chose who to root if Svitolina and Jabeur were to be the finals as those have been my favorite WTA players for this tournament, while I'll give anything to see a Djokovic vs Alcaraz final, because their last affair wasn't a fair one due to a weird and unforeseen circumstance. ----------------------------------------- Regarding a possible E-sport question, you guys might want to take look a at CS:GO, Blast Premier Fall Groups 2023 is be scheduled for hold from 13th to 23rd of July.

Will it be allowed to pay for both pools in one transaction?
Sure, as long as entry for each pool gets on the right address. I am usually paying entries to several pools in same tx, don't know why would anyone object to that. You just have one input and multiple outputs. Leaning towards 1.5 mBTC fee after reading all your comments in both threads. Wil be final in a few days when I officially open sign ups. I understand that most of us participate in numerous pools that could make the amount rather cumbersome at a go, while some other would be pool selective and it's easier for them join those few pools, but in the end it would make sense to have something to worth fighting for through course of the duration of the league, so any amount decided for the entry fee would be fine and make sense in correlation to the participant numbers.

According to multiple credible and verifiable sources, The deal has between completed between both clubs, but Victor Roque will not be joining Barcelona until 2024, next year, however, it is still very unclear whether or not the player would join Barcelona in next January window, buy the end of the upcoming season (That's next summer). The main reason behind Barcelona being unable to sanction the deal out rightly is due related FFP rules and protocols, so my very opinion on Barcelona spending as much as 74m on a player who is not going to be joining the immediately or have an immediate positive effect on the team, is another act of desperation, and that's how we found ourselves here in the first place some years ago with the Dembele and Countiho and Greizmann too iirc. The 74m is what could be used to bring in at east two players, to provide proper squad depth to areas such as the left back position, and midfield which was left by Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, without proper and decent replacement for these players, Barcelona might actually struggle a lot for all season long. sources: 1. https://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/barcelona-chelsea-man-utd-psg-sign-vitor-roque-athletico-paranaense/blt95d9fc8a10c748592. https://twitter.com/fabrizioromano/status/16788589786488094723. https://dailypost.ng/2023/07/12/transfer-he-cant-be-compared-to-ronaldo-barcelona-confirm-deal-for-striker/

Jesus, what happened to her? Svitolina killed her in the third set with an easy 6-2. It was the second time that they meet, but Svitolina is 76th on the WTA. That's why I don't like women tennis... Always full of surprises.
Was the game over before the deadline for after? I'm not in the cup so I didn't wanna wait for the last second to send my answers.
Well, Svitolina was Top 15 in ranking before maternity break, so, it's not that Swiatek lost to no name player. But yeah, most part of game Swiatek didn't played her game. And in general, she isn't doing very well on grass, 1/4 final is already her best achievement. If I'm not mistaken game ended before deadline and I waited until end of it to sumbit answers Svitolina really doesn't play like someone who had just had a baby around 10 months ago, she's mastered her craft since she returned, and she's done a really good job to deserve a place in semi final at Wimbledon, has she's to face a number of tough opponents too, so her semi final game being a match against Vondrousova made really she's probably destined to get to the final this because, she's got the fairest opponent for that regardless of would be outcome of the final 4 players in the remaining 2 quarter final fixtures. She's earned it having knocked out Swiatek in what could have been 2-0 in for her, I guess the third 3 round showed that her winning the match no fluke, and I've been keeping tabs on her since match against Venus Williams in the first round.

I don't fully understand the discussion around Haaland because if Haaland wanted to play for Real Madrid, why then didn't he sign a contract with them last season when he came from Dortmund? This is a rumor at best as he also said that he wants to play in the best European league and for him that league is the EPL. He is in a perfect club with a huge salary and has the best players around him and won the Champions League. Why would he have already any other goal than defending the Champions League title in 23/24?
Haaland got everything he needs in Macnshter City and they help him to achieve his goal in the last season, also Haaland can get enough money there without a problem and laying with players they support him even his coach Guairdiola got a good relationship with him and there is no reason for Haaland to leave his team. That's why I think even thinking about Haaland is not a move for Real Madrid and they are better to think about other players and options they can have like Mbappe. Haaland as far as I can tell has already found a home under Guardiola's system at Manchester City and has won every possible trophy under just one season with the team, and he's broken unbelieve number of records, meanwhile Guardiola rotation policy also helped him stayed fit for majority of the season, I really don't see why he would want to leave now, except if Guardiola is also leaving the club, then that could bring doubt about how well he would fit into the next managers plan. As for a potential move to Real Madrid that could have been well on the cards before Haaland had joined Man City and had not prepared to bank on Mbappe from PSG, it would have been a handful for Real Madrid to afford both players and remained within the FFP rules and regulations having already splashed a huge fee on Tchouameni, another major factor as to why Haaland didn't consider a move to Real Madrid would most definitely have been attributed to Benzema being at his prime, and looked like Real Madrid aren't just going to drop him for Haaland then.

Well, we doublechecked to the best of our abilities and won't be home till Wednesday - let's say they are final and if some mistakes occur we'll rectify them later. The questions for the Cup are here!We know that Đoković and Hurkacz still haven't finished but Novak's 2-0 up and we feel confident enough about this question. If it goes the wrong way, we'll figure out what to do. Can we players that are free the this cup round also feel the form, Just increase our thinking, prediction, insight and choice making skills, because as an athlete even when you're not playing you need keep training in order to stay and ready to when called upon or required to play And I believe last season, we had two cup rounds per week for the first few weeks, what changed ? or is it just a decision for this reason to have a singe cup tie per round?

After such a huge scare from Iga Swiatek, she's in the drivers seat of this match now, but I'll need to know the answers to the No. 10 question before having my hopes up, does anyone ?
Swiatek after going down a set and face 3 match points holds serves with a 4-2 lead, and this should it for her, but it's going a very huge come back for and also reiterate why she's the current world no. 1 in the WTA.
Vingegaard Is number 1 and Pogacar is number 2. So its a YES on question number 10. Swiatek Did win the match 2-1 in set. Thank you, I don't mind taking that 1 point here honestly, the swing in the momentum of me and mitchr4 fixtures is quite funny, it's goes in my favour after one game and it's all his after the next so finding a common ground against such a tough opponent is satisfying enough for me, to be fair. However, how the hell did Slissy and casperBGD both had 8 points in such a round like this ? insider information ?

That's such a bad news for the fans especially due to irregularities and greed of a few board members, from having your hope of the CL and then it was about settling for Europa League, down to the Conference league which by their standard already is an insult to the club's heritage, just to discover that you'll not even be having any European appearance at all this season. And according to the story on the link, they could still face further sanctions if they qualify for next season's Uefa Champions and Uefa have not deemed this punishment to satisfactory to its deciding team.

Its a sad state of affairs when a club legend like De Gea decides to up and leave. The guy's practically part of the furniture at United! But now, the spotlight is on Onana. He might have had a brilliant season, but Manchester United is a whole new ballgame. Can he step up to the plate? We'll have to wait and see.
This season Onana did very well for Inter even though he didn't ultimately deliver the Scudetto and Champions League titles but still his performance as the last bastion for Inter was really very good. Now if he ends up going to Manchester United though there must be doubts for him but this reminds me a bit of Mendy at Chelsea. I think Onana can still maintain his form when at Manchester United but of course with a note, he can't fight alone and we know Manchester United's defence won't be too good if there's no Varane and Martinez there so Ten Hag also needs to make some things that can strengthen their current defence. Onana situation will be completely different from that of Mendy at Chelsea, should his transfer to Man United be completed, because Mendy never flopped at Chelsea, it was due to a change in a coach and the coach preferred a goalkeeper that could play out from the back, and Mendy couldn't despite being the better goalkeeper in terms of saves, reflexes and goalkeeper awareness. Meanwhile Kepa could serve those coaches purpose, hence the reason for them keeping as the number 1 choice. Onana on the other hand will be coming in as the number 1 choice for Ten Haag even if De Gea as stayed back, Onana will remain at the top of his form for years to come, and fits perfectly into Ten Haag's so I really don't foresee any potential problem here, except the Glazers decides to go astray again by sacking Ten Haag too soon, which seem quite unlikely as things currently stands.
