I look at this way any time anyone sells to low on something i would question it because how can they stay in business and sells below cost unless what they have they took illegally or other illegally means of getting . or there running a scam with no gear and your screwed. more then likely if it's to good to be true then it's fake not always but 99 % of the time it is.

Oh by the way, I won't have some of the parts to put on it until next week but the prototype pod miner PCBs have arrived. Maybe I'll put up pictures later.

nice, can't wait to get one ") and run it to death lol.
2024  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is this site legit? on: November 12, 2015, 09:04:00 PM
They act like the S5 is brand new with No PSU, while the used one that comes with a PSU is less.

As Far as any new S5 to be had, there are none, unless someone has a few stilling in a box that were new when he or she bought them, never got used, which is very Possible, but not on this site .

You can test it place a very small order but be ready to lose it.

more simply solution : buy a clock switch (for christmas light).
and program this to shutdown 1min every 1h 2h or more ...

you need to mine, now !

nice i gonna get one good idea.
2028  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminers stopped hashing and does not start again on: November 11, 2015, 08:59:49 PM
TRY another PSU ? or plug only one miner in the PSU ? . are both miners using the same PSU ? . try a new PSU  plug ? I had that happen to me, i swiped out PSUs every thing started right up . HW error even went down on two miners, I think need to replace another PSU on a different S5, it seem for me the sever PSUs work the best over ATX PC PSU's , so i buy a few break out boards then find the PSU that match them sense i can and do find the PSU's cheaper then buying the full package and usually with free shipping.

BFG and minera both do to see it in Mimera look at the left side bar is says logs  click that it should put you at two radio type buttons one looks like a play button click that it shows you just what bfg is doing same as you would see if you used Screen or using windows CMD, if your using a windows PC as a controller , but it has to be on in minera to work, that's easy to find its under setting then once your in setting its kind of in the middle of the main screen on the left as a sider button, should say logs, turn it on then save it then try above again  Smiley .  . you can save that log in a text file and post it here . Smiley . also post your setting you use to run the miners in  BFG, i think that's what Luke wants the most the full command line or BFG.config file which minera can save for you too. or you can do it the SSH client way and use command lines.
2030  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] USB Adapter for AM Prisma on: November 11, 2015, 02:02:25 AM
just plug it in to one of the Tubes and no special way or mode to it in any way . nice to know for longer on , I'm still buying it or paying in few hours once the btc clear. i know his work or hope it does with no worry .

and it's looking like , I'll be Drilling hole in a S1 or S5 heatsink, i have laying around to match, one of my PCB holes, i can't get a heatsink with the holes that match ,i dred that, being lazy.

if anyone needs one and doesn't  mind paying a lot go here https://www.wtcr.ca/catalog/product/bm-amuar-01.  i all most did till i saw this on sell .

they cost there .

Wow that is super Expensive. So people must just know when buying stuff like this that you can get some cheaper. Maybe I need to start selling those LOL at 400 percent mark and still direct ship from amazon haha.

Thats a bit crazy.

However it would be very useful;

"You can daisy chain up to 8 full Block Erupter Tubes or RockMiner T1s (32 modules total), or 4 full Prismas (16 modules total)!"

Is there a cgminer and premade config for configuring each module individually?

Yea there is one for BFG and CG   Smiley .  i can't find it now but saw one the other day .not sure about each module but saw it can for each miner on it own if that helps.I do know the silver controller can but that sux and doesn't work with some pools unless you do other stuff  like run it thu a prozy of some kind but i also don't have version 2 and not buying it either now sense the USB to PC or pI works better.
2031  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Smart Miner 3.0 on: November 11, 2015, 01:04:00 AM
IMHO it's a scam . . . . .

I paid by July 6th, $4,710 and from then is my order put in hold. All my further requests were disappeared in silence unless I make a new inquiry as a new "unknown" customer, then I get feedback immediately.

So , when you want to buy and you're willing to pay,  you're welcome, otherwise there is wall of bouncing silence.

Not to be rude, but that is the same exact thing I have been reading.... speculation, guessing, thinking etc. No proof or evidence

I'm looking for PROOF ... either that is is a scam, or actually something that works.

As for contacting the guy, I have, just awaiting a response.

I was searching Craigslist and found a guy selling some S5's and a few Smart Miner 3.0 miners ...

So I looked up what a Smart Miner 3.0 is  and came across the website:

https://www.minerslab.com/product/smart-miner-3-0-rack-mount-20ths-bitcoin-miner/

I also came across some board chatter from skeptics and whatnot who were commenting that it has to be a scam. These comments were posted months ago...  HOWEVER, no proof. I have not run across any comments or rants that people have been scammed, nor have I run across any comments about how the Smart Miner 3.0 works in the real world ( not just on the minerslab.com site )

I'm assuming some people have purchased these units... at lease one person did, the person selling them on Craigslist.

So, is there any definite proof the Smart Miner 3.0 is a scam?
If someone bought some, how are they working for you? (screen shots would be awesome)

I think I remember reading about the SMART miner awhile ago.  If you look at their website, they are offering 20TH/s for 2100 watts of power.  That is half the power consumption of Bitmains brand new chip.  I find it hard to believe that a company no one has ever heard of has somehow developed a chip that beats the leading manufacturer in the Bitcoin space, not by a little, but literally blowing their machines out of the water.

Contact the guy on Craigslist and ask to see the miner and see them in action.  I would not buy a thing unless he can verify in person that it indeed gets 20TH/s while using 2100 watts of power.  That sounds way to good to be true, and usually when it is too good to be true, it usually is.

EDIT: I am also fairly sure that the picture they are using on their website is a stock photo that many scams have used time and time again of an old computer, can't remember the name off of the top of my head though.  Also, not sure why they would mention you can plug a mouse and keyboard into it, that means nothing and shouldn't really do anything.  Also, have 2 Ethernet ports is a little weird.  Personally, just too many little weird things that collectively add up to equaling scam.

The proof of scam is the obvious lack of proof of truth. Do you see anyone here that have one of them and is mining away? Did anyone get a prototype to test it and make a early review? Did anyone get a chip sample from the manufacturer?

No. No. No. Not Legit.

Hmm, well we have proof thats its not legit. Whether thats proof that it is a scam or not is up to you to decide.

and you got ripped off , LOL, sorry but i do feel for you thu , i couldn't resist .That said poeple that have no reguard at all for anyone else shouldn't even Be allowed a court day just take them out back in the deep woods some place beat them to death, how ever we can't do that any more legally, but that how i see them but that's old school I won't do it and when that was allowed there wasn't much of this type of crime going on .
2032  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: .02 BTC Reward for Working Hashra Lunar Lander Firmware on: November 10, 2015, 11:57:09 PM
tip down load them they  all work i use them on a PI 2, to make it work on a PI 2 you need install them on a first gen PI or one below a B+ then

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

don't try on a PI b + or PI 2 B they won't work, till you do. believe or not those should be the original image or close and will update to 2.14 or 3, i for get which i haven't tried in while sense minera works just as good if not better .

then they should work on a PI 2. i haven't tried them on anything else yet but I'll bet they work on other stuff as long as you can update it  before hand on something it does work on, once the firmware is installed  they ask to self update  if you want to update to the latest version of which ever one it is .other then that when Simon went from good to bad with the Hashra stuff and starting stealing, nothing more was done, firmware wise, please keep the btc. you won't find one more up date then how i said unless some one does it, they will want more BTC then you are offering.

i do from time to time load them on my PI and use one the Script firm ware on my grind-seed gbalck  and they actually work on all my Zeus miners.

I all most got taken on one of those Script miners that never happen . i got my cash back .

If you are USA based you got a deal. Flat rate small box is $5. I only need 1 of the 2 though.

Done deal - Payment sent!

Not that it maters now but next time try amazon. Cheaper with free shipping. I know it was ony 20 bucks could have saved you 14 bucks.

http://www.amazon.com/UART-Module-Serial-Converter-CP2102/dp/B006JKNWLE/ref=sr_1_cc_6?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1447188768&sr=1-6-catcorr&keywords=usb+to+ttl

:

i could have got it there with free shipping but is that version safe to use don't you have to change some thing on it for it work without causing any DMG or even work  . because if not i have a few of those laying around with the wires . Btw i  bought the last one . i hate the lame limited closed controller  this way I can use minera or all most thing i want to PI's Banana's cubieboards etc.

AND ebay is even cheaper for those with free shipping just takes longer comeing from china unless you shop on ebay might find one close to you.
2035  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.4.0: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Antminer S1-S5, Alchemist on: November 10, 2015, 09:13:04 PM
My BBB has Minera 6.0, and is using BFGminer 4.9.0.  I did not see the need to update it.  At one point I was going to try compiling BFGminer just for the BFL gear

and using the "custom miner feature" in Minera.  This would be an attempt to host 20+ monarchs on a beaglebone black.

you can compile it and don't have to use the custom folder, just do it like you normally would, but don't forget to copy it over from the SRC folders i think it is to the /var/www/minera/minera-bin folder or its stay whatever is it now in the Minera-bin folder . i honestly wont use the custom folder and only have BFG compiled to what ever miners, i have .  Smiley  but that's me, it seems to work better with, just, what i need on .  just a tip if you don't know you can do that .I just bought a openWRT router and it's a learning XP for me but I'm having fun learning how to and plan to have my OPENwrt up and  running soon with BFG updates on it and do it from that router .
2036  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.4.0: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Antminer S1-S5, Alchemist on: November 10, 2015, 08:50:05 PM
try 5.4.0 ? Smiley

taskmanager reports cgminer as hogging the cpu ?

Tried 5.4.0, no difference.  Yes cpu usage of bfgminer is around 60% on a modern intel cpu.  I am hoping maybe Luke-Jr has some input.
The stratum protocol isn't "free" - it does use some CPU, which grows as hashrate does - and as block size grows as well.
If you want to see if there's a cheap way to reduce the usage, you'll need to provide me more useful information than just "60%"...

Hmm.  The instance of BFGminer I have is pushing around 8.35TH, pool is Bitcoincz.  This behavior is also present on the beaglebone running Minera.  That has BFGminer

4.9.0 I believe.  I only have monarchs connected to this host and they are using 1.4.5 firmware.  What other info would you need?

what version minera the Las test 6.1 and have you updated the soft ware miner with in the past week, if so, you have it now, it updates to BFG  5.4 in minera or did the other day for me ?.

check this way

cd /var/www/minera/minera-bin
./bfgminer --version

With some kind of SSH Client or if you have the log enabled in inside minera open the log in the ui it gives a runnign list of all mining in a text file in real time .
2037  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: US residential miner power budget on: November 10, 2015, 08:23:24 PM

I would turn the circuit into a 2 pole breaker provide 240v, so you get double the watts.  That is assume the branch circuit has plugs only on it, lights and fans will not survive 240v.

And check that the wiring is actually rated for it - MOST commonly-used wiring is insulated to 600 volts which is plenty, but I have seen rare cases of 300v insulation WHICH IS NOT SAFE FOR 220V AC.

A "nominal" 220V AC line will often see RMS voltages around 240V, which gives a peak voltage exceeding 330V - and that's assuming NO spikes at all.

Dam nice catch i forgot about the rating my 8.2 and 12.2 i use both are rated at 600 V, i completely forgot about that and when i bought my wire, i made sure it was at least  600 Volts.

Here we go again with The Smart miner does it even exist ? . Sorry couldn't resist the temptation to Joke ? . Price even went up it looks like lol .  Show us there is one .

I saw a add one time on one of the mining pools that has it own  exchange and store. the guy there tiring to sell it said he would even help you finance it, all you needed was a Credit Score of 670 or so . I LMAO for a few hours, that made my day, i sure hope no one feel for it, He, Polly, wanted some kind of down payment to start the finance sense it was a  service hes was offering, once he got it, you never heard from him again .

nothing against you but your better off buying sidehacks sticks to these , his are way better and worth what we pay .Pretty much is what there saying, I'm being nice .

I guess what there saying is there is better out there at this price his cost a tad less and are better and run better ) .  just a tip  !! if no one buys them that might be why .
