2021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will the gambling addicts do now that the casinos have closed? on: April 13, 2020, 04:16:30 PM
As you may know, casinos all over the United States and the world have begun closing their doors to slow down the spread of the Coronavirus. While this has taken a financial toll on casinos, cafes, restaurants and hotels, etc, it has put the kibosh on problem gambling or at least made a serious dent in the lives of hopeless gambling addicts.

What will most gambling addicts do when they can no longer gamble at casinos, and what do you think they'll do when the casinos reopen in several months from now? Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction, or will most of them return to their old ways?

Possibly at this point of time, if we are talking about those people who are categorized as gambling addicts or those that cannot last a day without playing gambling, probably by this time that we are all experiencing lockdowns due to government restrictions, those people are surely seeking for alternative ways on how they can play gambling even they were just staying at home and cannot be able to go into casinos. Since we already have our modern technology right now, probably those gambling addicts you were pertaining are already starting to engage into playing gambling through the use of online casinos as their playing platform just to sustain their wants to play. That is a possible thing those people are currently doing at this point of time to still continue their routine on playing gambling. With regards to what they will do once casinos are open once again after lockdown, then it depends if they are already contented on playing at online casinos or they would still prefer playing at physical casinos or have already controlled their urge to play gambling at all because of the lockdown.

2023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are calling projects as scam when they are in a bear market? on: April 09, 2020, 11:53:41 PM
I kinda noticed that people will just easily call a project scam without even researching about the project, their judgement is solely based on the price and does not consider that most altcoins are affected by the bear market. If they can't change their mentality, this would affect the reputation of the project, this is like destroying a project's reputation in bad times, instead of helping them.

Totally true. People just keep on saying that such existing projects are all scams even without taking or doing thorough research about that project. That is why people are having false allegations about all projects because they mostly hear that projects are scams which brings negative impression and reputation even to those legible and good project because people easily judge projects by looking at the price and not taking good look of the project itself. All of the cryptocurrencies in the market whether Bitcoin or Altcoins are all affected by the current situation we do have which makes the prices low. It doesn't mean that when the price is too low it can already be considered as a bad or poor project because we are into a world crisis right now which takes a negative effecf on cryptocurrencies as well as with the stock market. This types of allegations are misleading people that projects are bad and it is not good to see misjudging projects because of the price.
2024  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best Cryptocurrency to Invest? on: April 09, 2020, 11:29:48 PM
All cryptocurrencies have great potentials and are good for investment. It is just that we all do have different preferences towards different varieties of existing cryptocurrencies in the market so no wonder that we will have different perspectives as well with regards to which cryptocurrency is the best for investment. Well, currently the market is still down so we all do have chance to purchase any cryptocurrency coins we want at its cheaper price. Since most cryptocurrencies do really have great potential, then it is a matter of decision making to do to be able to choose the best crypto currency based on your own preference. For me, Bitcoin is still the best investment ever since for we all do know the qualities it possess. I do also believe that Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple have great potential and are also good for investment.
2025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are comfortable investing in government controlled investments on: April 09, 2020, 11:08:00 PM
The reason I see is that people have already been investing into government controlled investment that is why they are already certain that they can trust their money into this investment agencies or companies. We people have this mindset that once we have already tried getting into one thing for such a long time and have already seen good thing or result from it is we entrust everything on it and make use of it over and over again. Also, there are still certain countries that are still not adapting the usage of cryptocurrencies so there is no chance that people can do crypto investment even if they want to. People are still not being able to know about how cryptocurrency works and being used as well as they still do not know about cryptocurrency at all that is why many are still reliant and trusting government controlled investment since they have been into it for a long time since then which leads them to trust it more than any other investment.
2026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers don't trap victims with too good offers anymore on: April 09, 2020, 10:43:26 PM
It seems many scammers are now aware that people run away from too good to be real investment plans nowadays, now they are ready to give fair percentages too just like legit projects

It came to my attention today that many Nigerians fall victim to a crypto fund company in Nigeria where thy are promised 2% daily and 14% weekly, according to my source she never knew the offer was scam because the offer was fair enough, she made a big mistake to have invest a whooping thousand and half dollar in the project, to me this sounds like another MMM stuff but the returns are really fair, well there you have it, this is enough to confuse those who thinks fair returns means project is legit, you are damn wrong

I think that offer was still not too good to be true because 2% daily and 14% weekly is really a large percentage to have in an investment. It just that the numerical value is small if you will just hear it but imagine you put together all those percentage in one month, it is about 60% which is really too large and impossible to happen because banks do give annual rate of 10% to 15% I think for the yearly investment rate. If that will be the case, then such offer of 2% per day comes out to be 730% in total for the whole year. That was already beyond possible. It is really in need not to be fooled by small numerical numbers because that was just their way to took advantage of you to think that rate was alreadt fair enough to be true. It was just awful how certain individuals make use of others weaknesses to get rid of them and took advantage of the situation for their own benefit.
2027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Methods that fraudsters use to scam people on: April 09, 2020, 10:16:35 PM
Here are few methods that online scammers use to scam people till date due to lack of not knowing

1. KYC Fraud

Behold, Any body can just contact you claiming they are bank executives or customer service officer from your bank and asked you to share details to complete KYC, they will actually first tell you that your account isn't safe anymore, this have proven to works on innocent people most times.

Be careful and be mindful on cases like this because once you have provided a KYC (Know Your Customer) process into unknown or scammer individual, you are taking your identity into risk since on that process, you are in need to take a photo of your identification card or other valid documents to provide or state your real identity and that can be mishandled once you have provided it into a wrong person which can lead to identity theft. So before doing such, contact your bank or anything that was asking you to do such before proceeding into doing the process.

2. Fake SMS

This days online shopping can be very dangerous if you don't go through right channels, secondly you can get fake SMS about any online shopping cash back and you will be asked to share your credentials, ATM card details etc

This one was already very common way of doing scam schemes nowadays. It is just easy to resolve this. Contact the unknown number or the included company or group to see if the SMS is legit or just a fake one trying to scam you. Never ever share any private informations through SMS because if that was important, then the bank will call you to get into the office to talk about it. Not through SMS.

3. Public Charging Spots

Abstain from charging your phones from any public charging spots, scammers can use some kind of chips that installs malware or spyware's on your phone while charging, this chips copies your sensitive data and inject the malware, automatically they have access to your phone, you can lose private keys this way, even every single  passwords on your phone. instead you are better off with power banks.

Most people knows about coins this days and believe me it doesn't have to be online alone before losing your private key or recovery seed, you can easily lose them offline as well

This was just new for me and I have not heard of any cases like this that it can be possible to get an intruder do have access on your information stored in phone by just charging at public charging ports. Well, if that's the case better do have your own power bank or just make sure you do charge your phone or any gadgets at full battery to avoid charging on public ports.
2028  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc going to 2k or 3k or 7k or 9k on: April 09, 2020, 03:35:38 PM
Hi, guys! Most market expert r so confused about the next move of btc as all markets r fluctuating drastically. People r considering CoVid-19 fear for such damage in the market but if so then what r we gonna see in near future in all markets? If research center got success in inventing antidote then also making it in such a huge amount then distributing it worldwide would be a great deal for all countries. Most of market analyst are guessing to see one more dump in crypto market.. How do see market going? Share your opinion in present poll  Roll Eyes  Kiss

Up to this point of time the fear and panic are still up because of the threat and danger in health care brought by the widespread of coronavirus pandemic which affects all sectors in the world and most specially the economic because the stock market is currently down like what we are having with the cryptocurrency market. But good thing that as of the moment, the price of Bitcoin is undergoing a slow recovery from its great loss from the last weeks ever since the coronavirus spread was published on news. Compared to the bottom price which reaches $5,000 on the past weeks, good thing that Bitcoin's price has risen reaching the $7,000 price mark which is much better compared to the bottom price that we have seen. As of the moment, we are still into a world crisis so let us expect more unexpected things to happen like changes in the price of Bitcoin as well as with the other cryptocurrencies to go ups and downs that part of it will be mostly down because of the situation we are all into right now. No one knows what will be the price of Bitcoin in the future because certain factors can affect the price changes. Let us just all see and observe what will happen on the upcoming days and weeks.
2029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction? on: April 09, 2020, 02:58:02 PM
As we all know , Coronavirus has impacted each and every industry in the whole world and sports isn't an exception .

Well, that was true. With the current situation we have right now, not any single person or sector all over the world is exempted because all are affected by this pandemic. Even the gambling industry is suffering specially for those people who bet on live sports event which are all currently being cancelled because of the lockdown restrictions.

If you take a look at this  , https://www.nytimes.com/article/sports-canceled-coronavirus.html or https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5232295.0 you will get to know how many tournaments across different sports have been affected .

But the question is , is this the right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction? The assumption I am making here is  that the gambling addicts are addicts on sports betting and not casino game addiction or poker .

Why this question is because although I wanna bet on sports ( which I have been doing every week since 8 years ) now I cannot .

Maybe it is the time for the gambling addicts to better think of it if they will tend to give up their addiction on gambling and just prefer to do gambling with proper moderation and just play it for fun or just stick and continue on getting addicted on playing gambling games. Since we are talking about sports betting addiction, then maybe it is a time now for them to temporarily stop for a while because there is no way they can play sports bet for the live sports game cannot be done this days. Maybe this situation taught us something to think about if we will still continue to our old lifestyle of playing gambling  or play in moderation after this situation to avoid addiction.
2030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON SPORTS GAMBLING on: April 09, 2020, 01:55:20 PM
Now that almost all sporting events all over the world are cancelled, those wanting bet of sports events are left with having to find alternatives. What are the majority doing?

Are some giving up and trying to become reformed gamblers?

Are some gambling on casinos instead?

What are alternatives most sports betting users are now switching to?

That is a real problem faced by sports betters because due to this wide spread of Coronavirus pandemic globally, all live sports event are postponed and cancelled due to lockdowns being implemented and massive gatherings are being prohibited to avoid the spread of virus from direct contact of one person to another. Probably at this time, live sports betters are staying up in home and finding other gambling games to play with while the quarantine is still being implemented. Sports gamblers can do bet on other games like MOBA since it is already considered as e-sports which can be played even at home. They can also try playing other games to see if it will gain their interest just to satisfy their want to play gambling. As of the moment, there is still far possibility that live sports event can start because the cases of the infected is still rising worldwide so betters/gamblers will surely find another way out to still play gambling.
2031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I realise Coronavirus is not a reason why on: April 09, 2020, 10:08:30 AM
Bitcoin is Down

As you can remember when the virus spread at the beginning BTC price sharply reaching $9,439 on January 28, 2019, and the markets follow the BTC as always many crypto markets rose up, that means coronavirus favor CryptoMarkets first,

But what makes Bitcoin price go down
As the spread continue people start to panic with the disease not Btc, thinking of many Negatives and some people exchange their Crypto to friendly fiat money so they can cover some emergency staff buys extra food, drinks, masks, etc, the simple view is that many sell result to cheapest sell which automatic kill the prices of an Assets.

It is true that the wide spread of the Coronavirus pandemic has become one of the contributing factor why the price of Bitcoin as well as the other cryptocurrencies went down recently because of the panic that gets along with the people because of this threat on the health care of the people. Many have decided to convert their cryptocurrencies into fiat despite of the good run the market have beem showing since the start of this year 2020, and the reason that I see is for them to provide their necessities that can only be purchased by fiat money to be able to survive and keep themselves safe from the spreading of this virus. Due to this cut down, the prices have fallen all of a sudden which is already not surprising because cryptocurrency is not just the one being affected by this virus but also the other sectors most specially the economic state of the world.
2032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will coronavirus encourage people to use crypto more thoroughly? on: April 09, 2020, 08:46:59 AM
I think people will still not choose to get engage into using cryptocurrencies just because of the recent situation that relates to the Coronavirus-19 pandemic although there is a point that getting into cashless will be a way to stop the spread of virus that can be get from physical money passage on hand, there can still be another way for people to resolve this problem that makes them use digital banking which most banks are now into, as well as the usage of credit cards for cash less transaction. Maybe people will be pushed to get into using cryptocurrency if and only if there is already no other way they can be able to use their money. Meaning cryptocurrency will be their last resort or option to do if no other way can be possible. In relation to that, not all merchants are accepting cryptocurrency as a way of payment so still people would be reliant on using physical money or if not, usage of credit cards or digital banking which uses e-wallets.
2033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reputation at stake will you stop gambling on: April 08, 2020, 11:38:13 PM
Why would I intend to stop playing gambling if I know to myself that I am not doing anything wrong? As long as I play with proper moderation and treat playing gambling as just for fun or entertainment, then I have nothing to worry about my reputation because being a gambler does not directly intent that you are already a bad person. It is on the way how people perceive and understand how playing looks like. The problem with the people is the mindset and generalization that thinking playing gambling is a wrong doing. Well, sort of it can be a wrong one, but not at all cases because different people do also have different ways on how they manage playing gambling. As long as I know I am not making anything wrong on playing gambling, I will not stop playing because playing it does not mean my reputation will already be at stake. It is just a matter of how you will be able to present yourself on other people that even if you do play gambling, still you can manage to control yourself for you to be able not to get addicted on it and serve only just for fun. Also, if I will be going to be a candidate, probably I will not tell that I do play gamble since the society is really having a wrong mindset about gamblers so I better just keep it for I do just play for it as for fun.
2034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MOBA Gambling on: April 08, 2020, 11:12:08 PM
There are so many amateur player out there and I know most of us likes to gamble,
So my question is why aren't there any website that could host a MOBA betting for amateurs were they could bet and they could earn from their own skill.
Who know's maybe because of it they would be a well known player and become a professional.

That will be a great idea to make to have considerations for those amateur betters that would like to learn and start their journey on doing gambling. It is indeed that many people really would like to get engage and start playing gambling but are just afraid to do such move because whar they are always thinking is the risk of getting a loss from it. With regards to MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) betting, there are already sites created that you can search online where amateurs as well as those who claim to say as professional gamblers can dive to bet while watching live stream of the popular MOBA games like LoL (League of Legends), DOTA 2 and other games that can be categorized under that kind of game. It will be a great opportunity to learn gambling through betting on MOBA since it is already considered as an E-Sports that is actually being played even at Olympics just like the last held one at ASEAN games. It would be great to take into consideration the interest of the amateurs by making a betting site for them to be able to boost their moral on playing gambling that might trigger their interest and potential of playing as a professional in the future.
2035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health 🤕symptoms on: April 08, 2020, 07:16:41 PM
I have read this article: Youth gambling problems: a public health perspective I consider it important for gamblers, Gambling addiction greatly contributes to drug and alcohol abuse and theft. Joining a casino makes you lose a lot of money and smoke a lot of cigarettes and wine, This, of course, will pose a major threat to your health!!!

Can crypto really give solutions to gambling addicts?
-Eliminate drug and alcohol addiction.
-Get rid of bad habits like theft.
-Reducing the risk ratio.....

😉Did joining gambling make you addicted to drugs and drink?!!

If you do know how to control yourself while playing gambling, the health problems associated on playing it will not be a big deal. It is a sense of self control to be able to eliminate such vices like drinking alchol, using cigarettes and even taking up illegal drugs. But since gambling do provide an instant source of income if you were just lucky to always win on playing gambling, then engaging into such vices might be just a cause of peer pressure with the people you were playing gambling with. I think crypto cannot be a total solution to break down people from using drugs and taking up alcohol because it's just that crypto on gambling have changes the platform and make playing gambling easy since it is a digital currency. The problem is with the people itself and not the gambling since it is just a game. Maybe vices have been a reliable companion for gamblers while playing to boost up the fun but still it will be depending on the person if he will be addicted on it. As far as I have my experience, even I do gamble using crypto or fiat, I haven't experienced getting addicted into any type of vices because it is my own choice not to engage into any vices and just play gambling.
2036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why I sold my 0.67 BTC!! on: April 07, 2020, 12:35:00 PM
It is not surprising at times of such because people would more prioritize the things that they need the most. It is a normal thing to do during emergency, investments would be more likely set aside. And this I think is the reason why the market value fell down recently. Many people sold their holdings in order to be prepared for what is currently happening. There is now a shortage of daily needs, in some areas. If your government is not that effective, you will only have your savings. I was actually planning to invest but have hesitated since I need to buy some stuffs to be used during the quarantine period, and the money I used was supposedly for crypto investment. But it would be okay, I'll just go with the plans when things start to be positive in order to assure everything.
That is understandable because there are a lot of people who need the money fot sustenance right now. You should buy when the price goes lower so you can have a profit.
but I quite doubt the price will be lower, or under the price of $ 5000. but I think he sells the bitcoin he has in the $ 6k range, and that might be good enough. to be honest, the bitcoin he has is more than my assets, but if I were him, I would not sell all the assets that I have. Well, maybe a few percents is enough, and I might do it gradually.
In some situations, you have to sell a lot and immediately, no one can guarantee you that you can sell a little every day. Anything can intervene, you can get sick, even if it is not a coronavirus, then this is an additional cost, or some other significant situation.
Indeed, your investment would be worthless if you would die due to sickness, to be practical. We cann all back with our investment routine once things become positive and I hope that day would come soon. Stay safe!
2037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do some gamblers actually win? on: April 07, 2020, 11:47:50 AM
Well there are actually people who became millionaires and billionaires in gambling. To name a few, British soldier Jon Heywood won €17.87m from £0.25 in online gambling. Another one is Neil from Aberdeen, Scotland, won an amazing prize just an hour after making his first deposit with online casino Casumo. Neil deposited £30 and wagered £4 on a spin on Hall of Gods before hitting the jackpot. (Source: cashformoney website, article written by Stefan, published in the year 2018).

I do think that people like them do inspire other gamblers to play despite of losing. Such stories are where some gamblers got their interest and desire, simply to be like those people. But such mentality has a downfall. By playing more often and losing more, there is a tendency that such gamblers would be addicted into it. They are bringing gambling to another level, which is definitely wrong because this habit would drag anyone down once your beinh much into it.
2038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency do you use for gambling frequently? on: April 06, 2020, 02:20:26 PM
No doubt that it is Bitcoin and Ethereum which are mostly being used by many gamblers. This is no longer surprising to know because even in other online services, these two are sitting above other cryptos. I do not exactly know why they are more often used, maybe people are just used to these coins, coinsidering that these are the top cryptos in this industry. But there are still people who do not use these coins to gamble due to investment purposes. They do take care of their holdings and I do sometimes think that gambling is an unnecessary use of my investment, but am still doing it due to the enjoyment I experience. But if I would be asked which should be used, I'd say depending on your own likeness because it would be the same. You can trade your other holdings into Bitcoin or ethereum in order to still take good care of investments but ofcourse it would cost more of your time.
2039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What the heck is happening to new projects? on: April 06, 2020, 01:35:00 PM
It is the market condition we are seeing for more than a year already, is the problem not the projects actually. There are many projects passed by on the previous years up to the recent ones but still, despite of the huge potential of those projects, they are still ending to be a "crappy" project. No matter which exchanger you put a coin from a bounty project, nowadays, the market price of new coins in the market are more likely to be low, or to be high at the beginning then fall in a sudden. Much better if you will just continue, and just hold the rewards, also be patient to wait for the recovery of the market in general. Who knows, one of your holdings, if it really has a huge potential and popularity, will be able to be a bigger crypto in the future. But such thing will only happen if there will be a recovery, soon, because if a year would again pass by, without any recovery, the coins will just be good as 'dead'.
2040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Suggestions for online gamblers on: April 06, 2020, 01:06:39 PM
After reading replies from some threads on this gambling discussion board, I see that many people have already delivered suggestions related to various problems of gamblers. Now, it depends on us to follow or ignore the suggestions. Or we can take a look at the suggestions that are suitable for our problems. Here are below:

1. You shouldn't spend much money because it will harm the family. (Limit your funds)
2. You must have good self-control, it is one of the keys to be successful in gambling.
3. You mustn't get loans, you will be trapped in debt at the end.
4. After you can win in a gambling game, you are better to stop. Don't be greedy!
5. Don't expect much to win in gambling, most of them are luck-based. Think rationally!
6. Don't spend all your time gambling, have enough time for family, friends, and society.
7. Etc

What do you think, guys? Are all the suggestions worthed to follow by all gamblers? Let's discuss it, you can give any feedback or opinions.
Please let me know if there are other good suggestions! I will add them to OP if I think it is a nice one. I really hope this will be helpful for us.

It's good to see this words of advice here but actually that's not happening in reality since still many gamblers do what you are saying since they want to have a money for capital in gambling  because there are still people denying to accept the fact that they are got affected to much by their vices.  But if this suggestions will be followed we can't see our neighbors selling their stuff and other things around  Cheesy.
Indeed, it is not as easy ad making as making a do' s and dont list, applying these things would be hard because it would require self discipline and control which are things that cannot be initiated by most of the people due to urges and desires. The list, are the things which is ideal but still, there are gamblers who are being dragged by addiction and that simply proves the difference between enumerating and making plans from the actual.
Good point OP, taking this perspectives before playing will allow you to have a good mindset and avoid you to make a high risk betting activities. If you have this practice inside you, the risk will be much lesser. Most of the time those gamblers who knows how to handle pressures and didn't listen to their emotional side are the one who able to enjoy and gain decent profits from this activities.
But most of the time, expectations and plans do not meet the reality. That is how powerful money is. No matter how you set a point to stop, once you are hooked up into gambling, it would be hard to escape. Huge losses, frustrations and stress would make a gambler urge for a 'comeback' and hope that he would someday achieve the goal of winning bigtime, not knowing that his losses are bigger already than his desired 'win'. That's how addiction works, if I would say.
