2041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What efforts have you made to raise bitcoin awareness in your community? on: October 17, 2022, 10:53:09 PM
I’ve recently been involved in a lot of peer to peer teaching. Word of mouth has been my tool.
I actually hope you do have quite a lot of knowledge about what you are teaching, it isn't easy to "teach" people about Bitcoin, at least not as easy as some people make it seem, it is almost impossible to give out knowledge that you the 'giver' do not possess in sufficient quantity, i guess that could be the reason why a lot of Bitcoin newcomers think the network is a get rich scheme, their teachers/people who talked to them about the network prolly told them that, or didn't quite tell them what the network is actually for.

Having said that, i for one have not raised any Bitcoin awareness in my community, i consider it too big a risk for me to undertake, for obvious reasons. I might have talked to very few friends about Bitcoin, but not at the level of it being called "teaching", i can't teach, so my friends appreciate it better that i can basically just provide them with quality materials so they could do their own research, and it worked/is working this way.

Bounty or airdrop in Bitcoin talk payment is very poor base on the recent market condition, the best way to earn is to join trading, either spot or future trading.
The best way to earn is to get a skill that you can offer in addition your RL job, trading is pretty much very risky to call it the best way to earn, especially for newcomer traders, they'd have to spend quite a lot of time learning how to trade before they can prolly get an inkling of things, generally it is safer for newcomers to avoid trading, they'd be better of investing in Bitcoin and hodling it for the long term. Having said that, bounty and airdrops aren't unproductive because of the present market condition, it has been like this for quite a long while now, the days when they were profitable are long gone mate.
2043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 16, 2022, 10:49:38 PM
I think the league is still open for everyone
I second that, not open to everyone in the league per se, but to the top teams, this season is looking somewhat hard to predict, i think Arsenal are really strong and they have a really good chance to win the league this season, if you watch how the players celebrate and their manager too, you'd know they believe in themselves that they can actually go all the way, i know Arteta would never accept that they are title contenders even though they are top of the league, he wouldn't agree to that so as not to put pressure on his player, but deep in his heart, he knows Arsenal are ready to fight till the end.

Having said that, there is City, Spurs, Chelsea all close to each other, Liverpool won today and who knows what it could do to their confidence going forward, it is a great show for all of us in that are interested in the EPL, it's such a shame we'll have to come to a halt for around a month or so because of the world cup.
2044  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Currency should be Integrated into School Curriculum on: October 16, 2022, 09:17:54 PM
Why on earth would they want to include them in school curriculums? That wouldn't benefit them at all and it could even screw kids lives due to its risky nature.
Well as for it screwing kids' lives, it actually depends on what they'd be taught, if they'll be taught how to get rich quick, or how they can prolly have millions of dollars through crypto, then that is where the problem could be inherent, they could basically be taught from the angle of financial freedom and users' control. Having said that, in whatever way it is going to be taught it isn't something that is quite necessary, or that seriously needs to be integrated, there are quite a lot of reasons why it wouldn't work, and imo many people will definitely find out about crypto and undertake their own personal research without being taught about it in school.
2045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 16, 2022, 07:11:56 PM
I really do not know what it is about Anfield, but anytime City go there to play, you can just sense that they are going to struggle and that they might lose, and that was the case for the umpteenth time today, i mean, City came into this game the team with the stronger momentum, definitely higher up the table than their hosts, and with a striker that is brimming in confidence, you could just think this was the perfect time for City to really hit Liverpool hard in front of their crowd, but just as the game started and began to move, it became anyone's game.

Having said that, Cancelo was pretty bad today, unlike him, he was culpable for the goal and a couple other opportunites he gave away to Liverpool, i thought Pep would have just stuck with his normal formation, but he chose a back three today, not that it worked too badly against him, but maybe the players would have had more freedom playing the way they have been doing all season. Arsenal can smile really well now, they are four points clear at the top of the table, they are forcing everyone to believe in their title credentials, and i'm afraid i do believe in it.

So guys Nigeria is on a part to becoming a major player in crypto-currency but the government can also accelerate that goal.
So guys with your knowledge so far on this three candidates who una feel fit boost the growth of crypto-currency in the country.
Tbh with you i do not know about that, Peter Obi is the youngest of the three and imo he seems to be the one that clicks quite well with the youths and all, so he prolly might be more receptive to change in the aspect of cryptocurrencies in Nigeria, mind you again that i am saying all of that based on a hypothetical situation, i do not know what will happen in respect to crpto if any of them gets to the seat of power.

Having said that, what i do know is that cryptocurrencies are the least of our problem as a country, my brother we have a plethora of problems that needs good leadership to address it, and Peter Obi is the better person in that respect, he is a purposeful leader and he has in him what is necessary to set Nigeria on the right part, we have poverty to address, unemployment, economic collapse, corruption, nepotism, bigotry, favoritism, inflation, and to put in a general term: a failed nation, now do you still think "which of the candidates can boost cryptocurrencies" should or is our problem heading into the 2023 general elections.
2047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 15, 2022, 07:16:07 PM
Tottenham are currently enjoying their best start to the season under Conte, their supporters will be delighted with their current position on the EPL table.
They will of course be absolutely delighted, this victory moves them level on points with 2nd place Manchester City, at least until the Cityzens play tomorrow, and 7 points above 4th place Chelsea, but the blues have two games in hand; in general it is a good start for Spurs, and i am pretty sure quite a lot of their fans didn't believe they will be this good at the start of the season. Everton on the other hand are slowly heading back to their struggles of last season, with just two wins this season after ten games, it might just be a matter of time before they find themselves in another relegation battle. It hasn't worked well for Lampard as Everton coach, i fear he would be sacked very soon, the club is static, there is no progress, he has to walk.

At last dem call off dis strike. I dey very happy for Naija students o. But d painful part now be say almost everybody wey been don enta school during Covid-19 go add extra two years for school now. Phil Foden has committed his long-term future to Manchester City by signing a new five-year contract. It’s a good one for Manchester city. We know how important he is to the club and the manager. In the last two seasons, he has become integral to Guardiola's team and recently passed 50 goals in Manchester City shirt. He has a lot of years and since he’s still playing under Guardiola, I know he’s going to improve and become one of the best.
Phil Foden is an absolutely unbelievable footballer, and tbh Manchester City are really lucky to have him and for him to extend his contract with them, for quite some years now City has become a club that big players find so easy to go to, and also to stay there for many years, extending their contracts when necessary, i can't remember the last time a player tried to force a move out of the club, except those that felt they were not having enough football time (like Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, etc).

Having said that, congratulations to Phil Foden, i am pretty sure it was somewhat easy for him to decide on this, City are a winning machine, and they are definitely certain to win trophies every season, he gets to work under the best manager in the world that constantly sees to his development, and he is also paid very well, so what more can he ask for.

We know sae our country bad, and all men wan japa with em and em family relatives for a better future and education. But at least em for d make sense if we d apply wisdom for wetin we d do, when we enter another peso land. Now, bringing in family relatives for UK don cast. Our body and plans don rest be that.
I no see anything wey they bad for this matter, it is all legal and documented, and no be say as a student wey get admission to study abroad you go come begin carry all your relatives, e no work like that, as far as i know you can only take either your spouse or your children with you, and you go first of all tell the school say dependant go follow you come, so that them to begin fill the necessary paper work. As you they talk say e cast so e come be like say na illegal matters. If them wan stop dependants accompanying foreign students (though i they sure say e no go happen), then e go be general something, and no be only Nigerians wey the thing go affect. I for like am if you for post the news link make we check am out ourselves.

But I saw that schedule postponed. If told to bet then I would choose Man City to win by half. They are just as busy because they play in UCL.
Which schedule/fixture is postponed? By the way, yesterday City had the opportunity to rest some of their star players for the game on Sunday, that is because they already had 9 points before yesterday's CL game, they knew they were definitely going to qualify, and by the end of the yesterday night when the other teams had played their own games, City confirmed their qualification to the next round mathematically, what they are only playing for in the CL is to finish in top spot, so you see City will even have some fresh players on Sunday.

Having said that, Liverpool are having a tougher group and they might lose quite a lot of energy in their game tonight against Rangers, the lineup is out and i see Salah is on the bench, i don't know if they are resting him, or if he is being benched for his bad form. Well all of this analysis might not matter on Sunday, these players are top professionals and they know what they need to do, Sunday will come and we'll see which team comes out on top.

Usually last season Mohamed Salah impressed many spectators, but his performance this season has decreased, maybe his condition is not good or maybe it is also affected by getting older so that the performance seems to be decreasing, Hopefully at the end of the season there will be a surprise from the Liverpool team.
The thing is, decline in form is somewhat normal with players, and it can be for quite a lot of reasons, there is no exact reason as to why a player is experiencing a dip in form, and in the case of Salah we cannot pinpoint a particular reason why he is not performing at the level we have come to know him for, it could prolly be because the entire team is performing badly, or it is a personal fault of his, but tbh he really has to step up, and this weekend against City is a perfect chance for him to do that.

Having said that, it is going to be difficult, City are in blistering form and Liverpool are not, in previous meetings between the two sides i always envisaged a strong contest, but this time around if i am to make my prediction known, i think City will win comfortably, like they did against Manchester United.
2054  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why newbies get banned on: October 12, 2022, 10:52:08 AM
I don't really it will be useless knowing nothing about Bitcoin as the forum also have other topics of discussion.
Yes there are other sections of discussion (Politics and Society, Serious Discussion, etc), but this forum was created because Bitcoin was created, if there was no Bitcoin, there'd be no Bitcointalk forum, and tbh every user was allured to this forum because of Bitcoin, thus being here and knowing absolutely nothing about Bitcoin is pretty bad to say the least, i am not talking about the technicalities of it, but the very basic things about the network is imperative.

Having said that, i am pretty sure every one of us has a goal to own Bitcoin's, if we prolly cannot afford it now, then sometime in the future, thus if a user knows nothing about Bitcoin how are they going to use it when they get to own it, they will hand over their private keys to a scammer on a platter and lose it ASAP.
2055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 11, 2022, 12:23:44 PM
I as an Arsenal supporter of course expect Man City to drop points against Liverpool, but because Liverpool's performance has been very poor this season, I quite hope the Liverpool vs Man City match will end in a draw.
City always struggle to beat Liverpool at Anfield, in the past years City have always had a hard time whenever they came to the home of Liverpool, but this season is a good opportunity for City to win again at Anfield. Liverpool are not in the best shape, everybody knows they can play better than they are doing now, but it is not just happening for them, they also have more problems on their hands in this game and going forward as Luis Diaz and Arnold have both picked up injuries and will be unavailable for Liverpool for sometime.

Having said that, i think all the odds are definitely in City's favor to win Liverpool, and it is also possible that Liverpool could get humilated, City are a team that scores quite a lot of goals, and if they face a club lacking in morale and confidence, they can come all out at you like a pack of wolves and score goal and after goal, i sincerely fear that could happen to Liverpool on Sunday, Manchester United were on the receiving end of that two weeks ago.
2056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 11, 2022, 11:05:31 AM
According to the source, Inter are seriously interested in signing Nathan Ake from Manchester City.

Ake is playing regularly these days and it is mostly 90 minutes also. Considering that maybe Manchester City might think twice before selling him. On the other hand, they were nearly doing so in the previous transfer window while Chelsea were after him too. Manchester City have 5 centre-backs at the moment. All of them are solid players so losing Ake wouldn't be much sad for the team for sure. His market value isn't even much now (€25m).
Nathan Ake is a quite an intelligent footballer, he reads the game so perfectly and doesn't make any mistakes across 90 minutes, imo he is Pep Guardiola's most trusted central defender this season, and i am pretty sure the qualities i see in him are the same as what Pep sees because he is a regular starter this season, except when injured.

Having said that, City were close to losing him this summer as he was about to head back to his former club Chelsea because he lacked game time last season, well that deal did fall through and Ake is still at the Etihad, even the man himself admits he is happy he did not leave, and why won't he, he is playing nearly all the games and City are winning. About the interest from Inter Milan, i think it will be a very easy decision for Ake to make, City are a better club, with better players and have the greater opportunites to win trophies, so i can't see a reason why he would leave City for Inter Milan, and i also don't think City won't be too worried to lose Nathan, he has proved to be very important to Pep in the way he wants his team to play.
2057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Censorship resistance is underrated, move to bitcoin and #DeletePaypal on: October 10, 2022, 08:06:14 PM
Well, that is something I don't understand. Why do people continue using Paypal services paying absurd fees and being bullied while they could simply adopt crypto which is decentralized and let us have total control over our money and transactions?
Crypto is not decentralized, that is a misconception, there are quite a lot of centralized cryptocurrencies that are just like the traditional system, with a central body controlling the affairs of the coin, and you know what happens when a user of that coin does something that they do not like: censorship, confiscation, blacklisting, coin freeze, and so many more; it is Bitcoin that is decentralized and allows you complete control and freedom of your money.
And even if customers justify they want to avoid the volatility of crypto market's currencies, they could use stablecoins in this case.
If they want to avoid volatility for inflation, then maybe they should prolly stick with traditional fiat system rather than stablecoins, both are centralized and do not give you control of your funds. There is no difference between hodling your money in your bank account or in stablecoins.
2058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 10, 2022, 01:18:23 PM
As per Aubameyang, it'll take him 20+games before he scores five or six or seven goals for Chelsea, they should get a striker that those it week in week out. They should have gone for Erling Haaland when they actually moved for him.
And how many of such strikers are currently in the market, willing to leaving their current teams to join you, what you must understand is that every club wants a lethal striker that can bang in goals every week, but most times those strikers might not be available for purchase and the club then has to made do with the next best option. Aubameyang is not a bad striker imo, he gets a few goals every now and then, and he is definitely not in the level of Haaland, but like i said earlier, Haaland for example was never willing to join Chelsea or any other club other than City, thus the rejected teams have to move on till they scout someone of similar abilities.

So far I still expect Aston Villa to be stronger under Gerrard, because at the time of Gerrard's arrival last season Aston Villa looked to be making promising progress this season.
I don't think so, or rather imo i didn't notice any sort of improvement for Aston Villa since Gerrard arrived as manager, they have been unconvincing and have struggled continuously, Gerrard's record as Villa boss isn't all that impressive too, IIRC he has managed around 35 premier league games and has lost 16 of them, that is not an encouraging record and that is why Villa have never been comfortable on the table since he has been manager, they have 8 points this season, just four more than the team in rock bottom, we might see them in that position sooner or later.
