2041  Other / Meta / Re: How I can get high rank in BitcoinTalk ? on: April 16, 2022, 12:03:51 PM
Hello everybody

Can someone please explain to ne how The rank works and how i can make my rank level high ?
I need High rank for my business marketing

Thank you all for help  Wink

It is not a bad thing to have a high rank. Everyone in the forum wants to get a high rank but the difference between you and some of us is that we wouldn't say it out, but study how it works.
Your question is like someone that gained entrance into a higher institution as asked how to be a graduate. That you need to be a graduate in order to gain employment.
Where the problem lies is that are you ready to follow the steps if you are told?
Maybe my answer is that to have high rank requires high work. Work hard and do not cheat the system.
2042  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Losing in trading needs questioning on: April 16, 2022, 11:42:39 AM
It is possible to loss all your trading capital even when you have the right skills and information. Losing it all can happen because of greed. Greed is the only character that will make one trade future on a very high leverage. No matter how skillful you are, if the market goes against you, you may lose it all.
The market changes alot, on a bad day, the market may decide to fault all your strategies and make you to become a successive losser. It is there good to trade with caution.
2043  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Professional newbie on: April 15, 2022, 11:44:54 PM

If you're knowledgable before joining the forum, great. If you're using multiple alt accounts for different opinions that you don't want to associate with all your identities, great. You're free to do either.
This is an eye opener. I have seen myself in this condition for so many times. I will really want to say something but I will fear(repect) the person and will not say it so that I will not become a bad person to some people. I wish I can just hide under another person identity and speak my mind some times.

I can really see that there are alot of freedom in this forum. If one do not cheat and do not plagiarise, you can last very long in this forum.
2044  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: April 15, 2022, 11:33:57 PM

The Russian locale has turned into a place where representatives of two nations call each other fascists, and some create topics and admire the deaths of the dead and wish them all sorts of nasty things.
This is very unpleasant. It looks like there is a kind of cold war ongoing in the Russian board. I noticed it when some Russians started making topics in Meta calling theymos to close Russian board, some called theymos to create a Ukraine board.
I think this is the time for moderators of the board to sit up and regulate the board by deleting anything that will instigate hatred and division in the board.

Excimer has about 8 topics in the first page of the Russian board. It seems he has a motive, I know his activities may not be welcoming to some Russian board users. Some might have ignored him.
2045  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: April 15, 2022, 11:20:23 PM
uchegod-21, be earnest, why can you tell a friend to buy Bitcoin. That is the reason others are telling their friends to buy too.
Why I go tell a friend to buy btc na make him male money. When btc dey low you buy, when e high you sell.

Inflation and depreciation of naira dey o and it is real, I no dey doubt you, but e no be the major reason people dey join bitcoin motor.  Even people wey buy for dip, when e rise, dem dey sell back to fiat and still save the money go fiat and use the gain. So, no be inflation make people dey like bitcion, na hunger wey dey land.

You no know say plenty people for Nigeria wey get permanent job wey dey pay them 500k and above no too dey send Bitcoin? Dem feel say dem balance well, na people wey no get steady job dey greedie for trading and the rest of them.

I don’t know about you guys but I don’t see the naira getting any value in the coming years, even if power changes hands a lot still needs to be done before we can achieve a stable currency and economy.
You too make sense my oga. Na the same gospel I dey preach give people but dem no wan believe. Weda power change hand or not, dollar go reach N1k and continue to dey go high, na so dem create and design this country.
2046  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: April 15, 2022, 01:21:03 PM
1 USD in 2012 equals to 158.79 naira
1 USD in 2013 equals to 159.26 naira
1 USD in 2014 equals to 171.71 naira
1 USD in 2015 equals to 197.87 naira
1 USD in 2016 equals to 257.66 naira
1 USD in 2017 equals to 333.71 naira
1 USD in 2018 equals to 361.29 naira
1 USD in 2019 equals to 360.06 naira
1 USD in 2020 equals to 380.25 naira
1 USD in 2021 equals to 403.58 naira
1 USD in 2022 equals to 414.03 naira (presently)

This your chart dey wounjor my heart. E dey make my heart to dey bleed aswear. Upon say USD dey lose value and oyibo weh get am dey complain, sometimes I dey laugh dem, people wey see currency wey stablize still dey complain. If dem be Nigerians na suicide dem go commit na.

But upon the wey naira dey crash, I believe say no be the major thing wey make Nigerianals enter crypto. Afterall many Nigerians no sabi say their money dey depreciate for bank.
The major coco be say boys dey find how to earn a living. Na wetin push some of us enter this place so.

Nigeria*
Uchegod-21 [21]

I made 21 posts last month, not because I wanted my post to coincide with the numerical suffix of my name. It is because the Nigerian unofficial local board is like gambling discussion threads where several discussions are happening in one thread. Most times, at my leisure, I will want to make upto 5 posts in my local thread but I will end up making one because I will have to wait for another person to reply before I can post again to avoid spamming. If Nigerian Local Board was to be a full board with child boards, my post count will be higher than 21.

Excimer[375]
When I saw this, I rushed to his profile believing I have seen a high rank high quality poster. But I was surprised to see that he is a full member and has about -7 tag from DT members. Ratimov raised a flag against him and many others supported the flag. So, are the 375 posts not a problem to the Russian board or is he a good quality poster?
2048  Other / Meta / Re: The 200 with most earned merit. on: April 14, 2022, 11:39:11 PM

There are 54 participants in the CM campaign, 25 in the Best Change campaign and 22 in the [banned mixer] campaign.

54 in ChipMixer campaign.
25 in Best_Change campaign
22 in Jamblee.io which is on hold
70% of Roobet campaign
80% of Fortunejack campaign
60% of blackjack campaign
Quality posters in other campaigns.
No signature wearers
The number could be a way higher than 250 quality posters.
2049  Other / Meta / Re: Race to 10K Merit club..... on: April 14, 2022, 11:24:12 PM
Well, I don't really know what to say about this, but 10k is really much that many people may never achieve it till they quit the forum. Let me give my personal evaluation on this list.

@ o_e_l_e_o   -293
He is very active in the forum and especially in technical board where he has answers many questions and try to bring solution to every problem. Since LoyceV has gotten to 10k, the next person I expect to reach that milestone is o_e_l_e_o.

@theymos      -444
This is the "Oga kpata kpata of them all". He does not post very often but when he does, alot of merits will follow him. If he wants to get to 10k merits before weekend, he could drop an April 15 fool post Grin. He is the Absolute Hero of  Good.

@fillippone   -1027
This user makes alot of quality posts that solve many problems. He needs to be appointed the P.R.O(Public Related Officer) of the forum. He has information from the public that concerns this forum and he  have good knowledge of what is happening in different countries. Fillippone can you please tell me what is happening in my country Nigeria?. He is a good distributor of merits and he likes the number 3 when giving merits. I am expecting 3 merits from him on this post. Grin If he recieve merits as much as he gives out, he could reach the 10k club sooner.

@El duderino_ -1618
How weird it might sound, I haven't come across this user anywhere in the forum. I wonder where he gets the big number merits from. #respect

@suchmoon     -2294
I have seen him, but most times he comes in where there is an argument and chip in some words to settle them. I believe there was when he was hotter in the forum, maybe I wasn't born then.

@Ratimov      -2598
Beginners and help king. He is always there doing great works and great spam burster. His journey to 10k club will happen soon than expected.

@DdmrDdmr     -2822
Always find a way to notice good posts that was not merited and drop merit there. Answers questions regularly in the forum. He will reach 10k merit club soon.

@LFC_Bitcoin  -3563
I confuse him with ETFBitcoin and it is ETFBitcoin I see often in the forum.

@pooya87      -3669
I know him from the technical boards and Bitcoin Discussion. He is always active and will reach 10k merit club but not so fast.

@JayJuanGee   -3903
What more can I say about him, I already created a thread for him https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5387986.msg59403066#msg59403066

Congratulations all, in 5 years from now, I could be here.
2050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When and how did you discover Bitcoin? on: April 14, 2022, 10:38:29 PM
I can't really say how I discovered bitcoin but I know bitcoin has been very popular before I queued in by late 2019. The news of bitcoin investment I hear in radio advertisement and social media. Especially during Covid-19 lock down, people will say that even if they are locking down that they are still earning with bitcoin. Those were some good lines that made me to give bitcoin a trial.
Meanwhile I have already known that bitcoin is not a scam as other people may think. My problem was that I didn't have the opportunity to invest in bitcoin as of that time.

My mentality was that if bitcoin is a good investment it should not be a rush, that it should still be available in many years to come, that was what delayed me joining the bitcoin bandwagon.
2051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin Charity Work on: April 14, 2022, 10:28:07 PM
Nice initiative OP, the second option is good and I will consider it to be better. Meanwhile, I have to reason the kind of environment you are leaving that will fetch you the attention of 30 persons willing to learn. Are you in anyway living in a tertiary school environment, because that is where you can get the attention of people.
In my neighbourhood, everyone is as busy as the bee. In the morning everyone goes to work and return in the evening. You do not know anything about your neighbours.

Teaching them, please don't give them the mindset that bitcoin is a get rich quick finance. Please remove their mind from earning so that they can learn.
University students are very inquisitive and are at that stage in life where they are hungry for knowledge. When I was in the university, I told myself I have to learn other skills that can help me outside the things I was taught in school. I learnt baking, graphics and after service I learnt interior design. There were seminars back then in school by other young people where they taught students about digital markets, networking e.t.c. Those seminars were always packed.
The youths and students in the school are always eager to learn new things, especially when they are approaching their final year in school. This happens much in a country where the employment rate is very low. Which means there is no guarantee of good job after graduation. People strive to survive by acquiring many skills. So, it will not be surprising to know that OP can gather audience upto 30 people. Do you your best...
2052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we entering the era of CBDCs? on: April 14, 2022, 09:49:00 PM
This is the era of CBDCs.
But does CBDC bring anything new or good to the table?
Definitely no!
The same centralization and stability. Infact there are decentralized stable coins which are great substitute to cenrralized USDT and Binance stable coin for those who care about privacy.

Being rooted in reasoning about CBDCs, government cannot come to the crypto world, steal the blockchain technology for their CBDCs and then continue to fight btc. If they started using blockchain, that means they seek for a level ground to make their fiat coexist with cryptocurrencies.

China Yua CBDC success is not surprising because China is a country that is first organised, second accepts challenges and plan for greater nation and thirdly is populated.
Unlike my country who launched e-naira and there is no effect of it in the economy.
2053  Economy / Reputation / Re: 325btc with loads of topics on: April 14, 2022, 09:03:35 PM
I went through his started topics and it was laughable, it looks like last posts where someone will make like 5 posts a day.
People that creates plenty posts per day are poeple that are promoting a particular project or idea, but in the case of 324btc, I don't see anything particular project he is promoting or any special idea he wants to sell to the community. Many he delights joy in see people react to his posts. Even if in social medias it is hard for someone to make more than 3 updates a day.

Op, maybe you can try to report some of his posts and see what moderators will do about it, otherwise ignore the user.
2054  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: April 14, 2022, 08:35:33 PM
I bring better come table for una today, now you fit verify your Binance account with the number wea they give us for bank, we them they call am BVN them been done stop am before due to our government Wahala, but he Don dey available now tell other people wea they try verify there account.

One funny thing about this Binance verification and BVN be say, both the first person and the second person wey post this thing see am as goodnews and better thing for the crypto community  Grin
E be like our own version of crypto for Africa different o, we no value our privacy and e no concern us whether dem sell our data or not. Everyday for beginners and help board we dey see the kinds of o_e_l_e_o dey create topics about privacy but we no care.
Even for here either Coyster or BIT-BENDER don talkam say before before when you talk bitcoin we talk privacy and other things, like e be like Bitcoin of nowadays no hard again.
2055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without banking bitcoins will be work on: April 13, 2022, 08:38:08 AM
If banks stopped working (which is unreal at the moment), then bitcoin ideally will loose all its value. There wont be any measure of unit to count the bitcoin value. For example, today we say bitcoin is worth 41,000 USD. What would you say after banks collapse?

In as much as I do agree with you that the banks are not closing down. But saying that bitcoin will be worthless without banks is not true. Bitcoin did not start existing because fiat and banks exist.
If you think that bitcoin value is tied to fiat, you can be wrong. If the banks and fiat does not exist, bitcoin can pair its value to gold or any other assets. So, fiat is not the lifeline of bitcoin.

So without banks bitcoin will work but it will be difficult to many people and also the rate of crime will increase.
2056  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The reason people join bitcointalk forum on: April 13, 2022, 08:25:35 AM
Base on vast majority, I agree with you on the aspect that most people are now joining the forum for the purpose of earnings, which is a kinda being contrary to the major reason why the forum was being created, but that doesn't take away the fact that there are a lot of people too who genuinely joined the forum for the purpose of getting more information and education about Bitcoin . If there is a way to clamp down on those spamming Bounties in order to sanitize the furum that would make perfect.
Well said, that there are people who genuinely join bitcointalk to get the knowledge of bitcoin and also there are some people who joined bitcointalk to make money.
But you didn't get a category of people who joined bitcointalk for passion and to teach people about bitcoin. This people are not wearing signature and they already know bitcoin, so we cannot say that they are learning. People like Franky1, DannyHamilton, Philipma1957, JayJuanGee etc. It's high time we began to appreciate these people.

You suggested of getting ride of bounty hunters? Why, is their existence threatening the peace of this forum? If they are harmless, let us accommodate everyone.
2057  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NO RISK, NO REWARD on: April 13, 2022, 08:16:54 AM
It's only half true the no risk = no reward because you have to learn how to take managed risks in investing so you don't just lose money (especially to scams).
The no risk, no gain syndrome is not totally wrong and should be more correct. You take risk and the risk turns out to be a good risk, it is OK. Just to buy bitcoin at dip is already a risk because there could be more dip. Just to sign in the internet to scout for job is already a risk already.
Then there is q calculated risk according to you. Someone buying bitcoin at 35,000 with $10k is taking a calculated risk than someone buying bitcoin at 44,000 with same $10k.

I have also seen someone who has not lost money in cryptocurrency and he has gained and still gaining in crypto. Maybe saying he has not lost money could be wrong, it can be that he has gained more than he lost.
2058  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is merit and what is it for? on: April 13, 2022, 07:51:18 AM

You’ve currently got 4 Merits. These never decrease (except for on extremely rare cases related to cheating)

I have never heard or seen this happen.

Has this rare case ever happened and what extreme cases of cheating can reduce merits?
2059  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please enlighten me on: April 13, 2022, 07:36:23 AM
I don't think it is easy in my country where bitcoin is not legalised but yet exchanges exist. If you make transactions with local banks and include any crypto related words in the narration, your account would be banned. So this makes businesses to turn away from Bitcoin, you cannot afford that your business account should be freezed because you want to accept bitcoin for businesses.

There is a youtuber from Canada that claimed he has lived only on bitcoin, you can see it in Pmalek thread. Have you tried to live only on Bitcoin?
2060  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why beginners should pay attention to their privacy on: April 13, 2022, 07:26:19 AM
More often I have heard of data leak by large companies with huge data base. But I hardly hear of legal actions against these companies. I know victims have the right to sue the company that exposes their data, whether it is purposefully or not. Well, I still do not blame victims that doesn't take any action because most often, the victims will not know that their data has been compromised.

I was amazed at LeGualios case, where he was emailed to be informed about his data compromise. In as much as I will say that the company is being honest to him, I could also say that it may cause Brand and reputational damage to the company. More and more customers will lose trust and interest in a company that cannot secure the data of her customers. So it could be that honest companies do not deliberately sell out their customers data. Unless during attack or they are compelled by government to do so.

O_e_l_e_o, is there no how a company's database can be saved on the blockchain for optimum security?
