2101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't punic, just hodl on: January 23, 2022, 09:33:51 PM
a good reason to believe that this is just a correction is the fact that the largest venture capital funds continue to invest money into the market. For example, a month ago Three Arrows Capital bought 156K ETH, or just recently A16z, Alameda, Three Arrows Capital held another round of investment and invested $150M in NEAR Protocol, which indicates that serious guys like a16z and Alameda still believe in growth.
I free totally with your title 'don't panic, just hodl'. Anyone who has been in cryptocurrencies world for a long time will not see this as a new advice or what he should be told, it is a basic knowledge for me. And as thing a going right now with the bear market I don't think anyone has any other choice than just to hodl. I believe this who are panicking are those who have invested what they can't afford to lose. When it comes to bear market the best thing is to hodl.
2102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s energy use is just a rounding error compared to other industries on: January 22, 2022, 05:30:30 AM
I was recently reading a bit of the WO thread (there are always some very good discussions there), and I found this amazing post about bitcoin energy consumption:

Shame on all of you filthy Bitcoin holders. I'm done with this dirty practice. I cannot be part of this disgusting ethical money system any more!
End of!

From the pictorial representation above, no sane person will compare the energy consumption of bitcoin and every other sector. I think it is to obvious for anyone to make such comparison but this is as a result of the hate doled out by government on Bitcoin because they feel they have no control over it. All this to help their agenda of not making crypto currency a legal tender in their countries.
2103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time to enter the market and buy altcoins? on: January 21, 2022, 07:26:59 PM
The market situation is not the best and no one knows what to expect, there is a fear of investors in the market. Since the recent drop, bitcoin has lost 40% of its ATH, the fear index has reached 10, and even the altcoins that performed better in the correction, such as NEAR, ATOM, have also lost a little in value. We hit the baseline BTC support of $ 40,000, which we got off to a good start last time, and went to the new ATH.
Any one who know what he is doing in the crypto space know that bearish season is the best time to buy, although might not work all the time. But, this present dip I think it is a good time to buy altcoins so that when it hits high you will take a lot of profits. Although this is not hundred percent, sometimes you buy altcoins at the dip and the dip continues to go down. It always goes back to greeting your research right.

So, always limiting our investments for different coins and tokens will help rather than investing all our money into one single coin or token. It means diversification alone could help us in the times of bearish market and then recovering.
2104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin legal tender in Turkey? on: January 21, 2022, 06:48:09 PM
BREAKING:  TURKEY FINANCE MINISTER INSIDER CONFIRMED THE COUNTRY IS ABOUT TO ADOPT BITCOIN AS LEGAL TENDER EARLY NEXT MONTH
This will be a huge development for bitcoin if it pans out to be true that Turkey is finally adopting it as a legal tender. Because, a country like Turkey will always want to oversee and guide the movement of liquidity within its space and the nature of bitcoin goes contrary to this.

Well, let's watch and see what is going to happen but for all we know this might just be another rumor going around. I read on this forum and on few crypto news portal about few countries decision on adpting bitcoin as legal tender but even after months, I am not hearing anything after El Salvador's decision; also recently India president's twitter handle was hacked and used to announce about making bitcoin legal in India by that hacker.
2105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market sentiments ? on: January 21, 2022, 06:12:54 PM
Things started looking good, giving a bit relief!!
But wait!!! Again sudden dip of  $5000 in a few hours?? How can we explain it: Are bad actors manipulating it or it just the market sentiments towards downward making such huge pricefall?
2022 is becoming something that we all did not envisaged towards bitcoin. This instability is becoming alarming and I think the whale have hands in it, but no doubt with time bearish season will be over. But, I will advise that if you want to invest in any coin/token wait for bitcoin to get a little bit stable because its price affects every other coin/token.

At the same time, you can buy bitcoin at all dips to average your buying price levels and this is because bitcoin is highly expected to bounce back at any time soon; still invest only what you can lock with bitcoins for next 3 to 4 years. Have proper plan and accumulate as much as you are able to.
2106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Hold is Gold on: January 21, 2022, 02:32:06 PM
I Holded Doge for almost 6 months it doesn’t rise as much was expected,i shift to c98 it’s also on downfall ,cause the father of all the coins BTC is also in dip ,now i am on hold of the c98 and expecting for its Shine,i think luck matters alot in trading not only Good knowledge.
Holding for me has always been the best when it comes to cryptocurrencies. But, I has its pros and cons and sometimes it comes positive while some time very much negative. But, what is important is research and studying about a whatever coin/token you want hold and this show you what you are in for.

But, some times it also comes with a little bit of luck also and not entirely knowledge; hope everyone must be having their own perception about altcoin investments because it is completely different than what we usually do with bitcoin investments. So, different approach for altcoins will definitely bring good results in the end.
2107  Economy / Economics / Re: The Metaverse economics and Meta-laws on: January 21, 2022, 02:10:25 PM
Whoever succeeds and becomes the dominant meta-platform (call it Roblox, Meta or however is there) is very likely to use crypto, NFT and some form of governance. My question to the forum is what do members think that will be the regulations inside the Metaverse? Who set the law (government, the company, both, the users,...)? Who and how decides the "punishment" or penalties for missuse? How do they deal with privacy?

The Metaverse seems full of legal, philosophical and economic questions yet to be answered.
The Metaverse have series of unanswered questions and this is because it is still a new and young growing aspect of the crypto space and I believe with time all this questions are going to be answered. I think the company should create the rules that guides the metaverse since it is their creation they will know better. But, in terms of privacy it should remains decentralized as possible if not the whole idea will die before it even gets to maturation.
2108  Economy / Economics / Re: The Russian economy is on the verge of collapse. What to expect? on: January 21, 2022, 01:22:08 PM
As you know, now Russia is building up huge amounts of weapons and manpower on the borders of Ukraine, and according to available information, the plans of the terrorists from the Kremlin are to create a provocation (similar to the provocation of Nazi Germany on the border with Poland in 1939, and the USSR on the borders of Finland) , or casus belli, with a high probability plans to continue, but already on a global scale, the war in Ukraine. The US and the EU, as part of containment, announced very harsh sanctions, which, in the event of the start of such actions, will be applied to Russia.

After this news, and in light of the activities of the US, Britain, the EU, this week, the Russian budget has already lost about 2 trillion rubles, due to the fall in share prices, the collapse of stock exchanges and other reactions of the financial market to potential risks.
I don't see it happening but if the terrorists succeeds provoking this war which will result in Russia to prohibit the use of the infrastructure of the Russian financial market for any operations with cryptocurrencies, as well as to prohibit financial institutions from investing in cryptocurrencies and related instruments.

I think it is going to have little impact on the market, already six billion rubles is out of the market and even more is going to go out, it is not really a great new for crypto in my opinion.
2109  Economy / Economics / Re: Doctors fear health care collapse amid omicron surge on: January 21, 2022, 09:51:41 AM
A greater quantity of COVID driven healthcare demand coupled with higher strain on existing healthcare. Could result in scarcity which will inevitably drive healthcare prices even higher. If the united states thought healthcare was expensive pre COVID crisis. I can't imagine how much worse conditions could potentially deteriorate post COVID crisis.

While certainly the worst case scenario is bad enough. It could also trigger a resurgence of home remedies and snake oil medical treatments. Due to people not being able to afford medical care. Faith healers, alternative health movements and holistic remedies could all make a strong resurgence.
For me, the emergency of this new variant called Omicron should not lead us to panic or into thinking that the health care system is going to break down. It should be a clarion call for each and every one to play his part in making sure that the rate at which it moves from one person to another is controlled to the barest form.

And we can do this by simple obeying our doctors by getting vaccinated, receiving our booster jab, putting on mask in large gatherings and eating health to keep our immune system strong to be able to attack even if we get infected.

And with this hospitals will not fall into crisis and their will be no need to have low staffing.
2110  Economy / Economics / Re: Microsoft to acquire Activision for $69B is all about Metaverse on: January 20, 2022, 09:53:12 PM
This is the most expensive acquisition of Microsoft since time and we can't help speculating how much the metaverse tokens will be when Mircrosoft finally launch thier own in the metaverse. There is an impression in the Linux community where everything that Microsoft touch dies like Yahoo and Skype. Will Activision die too?

But with this Activision + Metaverse, I think this is going to be a good decision for them to develop. Activision has lots of games where gamers are actively playing and the Metaverse which we can consider to be the future. This might just be one of Microsoft's best investments and projects to develop and get successful with. Unless they become very aggressive again and deploy KYC in games. You think?
Microsoft just bought a company for the staff and the rights basically. Activision holds so much IP and thats just too much to give up. When you have that kind of rights, you could literally go with any other method and use those IP's to make money. Imagine having pokemon rights, you could ignore all the ones made so far and just focus on what you can make in the future and that would still be awesome.

This is not exactly about metaverse at all, but it is also about everything, literally everything. If you know what you are doing then microsoft should be able to start regular games, continue old ones, get new ideas, metaverse, movies, and many different things to be fair.
2111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will cryptos go into Bull season? on: January 20, 2022, 09:30:59 PM
This is how the crypto market situation is and we are familiar with the current situation, although many coins are in decline but we do not panic too much but take advantage of the current situation to invest, although we do not know when the bull run will return but we must be sure that all of it will definitely happen, and in the future the value of ETH will certainly approach the value of bitcoin at this time but it is all process laborer because ETH is one of the coins Which is much attracted by investors.
That is what the veterans of the market are doing right now, not everyone. If you haven't been paying attention to market then you will not be like us, you will be scared and selling all that you have. I personally do not worry about the current situation because I know what I should do, that is how you grow your capital and that is how I see my money, as my capital because I am going to keep doing stuff with it.
2112  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cryptocurrency status at the beginning of the year on: January 20, 2022, 08:51:14 PM
Yes, at the beginning of the year the cryptocurrency situation is a bit miserable. This is because at the beginning of the year, the price of all the coins in the cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, is a little lower. There is no reason to be discouraged because it is miserable every year at the beginning of the year. Later, the market's momentum picked up again.

Cryptocurrency is going to pass two weeks so far this year but still no positive is found. I think it could be even longer. In other words, it will take some time for the market to get better.
Any one who has been in the crypto space for a long time should understand this and not see it as a problem, because it has continued to happen almost every year. I don't think anyone should panic over this because bitcoin has proved itself formidable over time. The current situation of market is indecisive. It means market will become bullish at any moment because there is no impacting negative news are around and in all such situations bitcoin market is known for becoming bullish hence this time may not be an exception for sure.
2113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It won't hurt on: January 20, 2022, 07:08:38 PM
It won't hurt to have 100,000 shiba inu coin in your wallet you know, I'm saying this because I used to have 1,000,000 doge coin in my wallet but got tired of holding it and sold, we both know how much that it today so we can't say if shiba can make its way to where doge coin is right now, it won't hurt to have some in holding
Even you are making sense, there will be no guarantee for shiba inu to follow dogecoins after some years.  It means the amount that I am investing right now into shiba inu my turn into zero over the years but if I invest that same money into bitcoin then it will definitely will grow at least 10x. That is the basic difference I am seeing right now even the money I am going to invest into shiba may not be hurting me.

Dogecoin was a first memecoin hence it became successful even after some years; this may not be true for all other memecoins including shiba inu.
2114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I Don't Use Brave Browser on: January 20, 2022, 10:30:28 AM
It's also effective to have no ads while watching some YT vids.  Cool
Adblock exists.

Maybe a little bit biased but I'm using Chrome as my main browser because as a web programmer I need developer tools to help me debug my application and Brave browser is nowhere close to Mozilla and Chrome in terms of usage of dev tools, Mozilla and Chrome are simply the best for that case. But, it's just up to you to earn something while browsing I guess.
That’s why everything is all about personal preferences, if something is working for you then you can choose that, but if it doesn’t fit what you’re really looking for, you can leave it to look for something that is. The same thing with me, I am also making use of the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers, and very much satisfied with these two browsers‘cause they work perfectly for me.

The brave browser is quite good to an extent, but it doesn’t really work that well for me in some cases. So, that’s why I decided to leave it and continue making use of the other browsers that I have been using for longer now.
2115  Economy / Speculation / Re: are we going to have "fear" months? on: January 20, 2022, 05:55:45 AM
In fact, when February is the month that makes crypto prices dump, I would assume that it is a discount and a sign to buy. however, if we look at the history from a few years ago, when the bitcoin price dumped, it would definitely pump up within a few months or years. when the price dumps, it becomes an opportunity to accumulate assets. fear or not, it depends on how you look at it.
I guess you will get misguided if you follow different-year-month-wise trend of bitcoin market; because of example, November month was highly bullish month for all cryptocurrencies but 2021's November month was a different one hence there cannot be any pre-defined market trend for bitcoin market overall. It is like as usual market may surprise us at any time.

I am not expecting this January and February months are going to be bearish but might be sideways to bullish as per my speculations still buying the currently available dips will surely help you to maximize your profits by holding long duration enough.
2116  Economy / Speculation / Re: Always have an exit strategy on: January 19, 2022, 08:36:49 PM
I think it is even worse than what you describe, if someone bought a coin and was expecting a miracle at least they will know their expectations are out of place and that such results would be odd for someone with their level of skill and knowledge, however that is not what we see, most of the time those that come to the market with no strategy invest in a coin and expect great profits as if it is just a given that they will get those results and then claim the whole market is a scam when this does not happen, not understanding there was never a good chance to achieve their objectives.
People who expect something unusual to happen are usually the people who end up not really doing the "I sold because I got scared" thing neither. I mean they were expecting the unexpected so it is normal for them to feel a bit more calm whenever things do not go their way. That was their plan all along, they imagined that it would be a bad investment most probably, but there was a small chance that they could make a really big amount if they are super lucky.
2117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Bulls Are Coming Back Soon, Are You Ready To Ride? on: January 19, 2022, 07:48:14 PM
Bear or Bull, it wouldn't matter as long you do know on how to ride.
No, I am not such a swing trader who will be preferring to ride on either direction of the market. Like most people here I am also a long-term holder hence I am always preferring to have stronger bullish trend to have better benefits. I read that swing traders are making more money than long term holders but not sure about their level of technical skills to trade on both the directions of market but for me it's always better to hold rather than trying any type of trading.
2118  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: DCA instead of stop-loss on: January 19, 2022, 07:21:06 PM
Admittedly, sometimes it takes weeks before that opportunity shows up, but it always does - I just need to be ready for it and have the required funds available.

It requires a lot of reserve, but hey - it goes to show that the 'up to 5%' rule really makes sense.
How about doing DCA with a shitcoin? Because, I have seen many coins which never bounce back but do keep on decreasing in value over the time. Not just week, I have been holding few coins like that for years; one good example for such a coin is RDD.

When you are confident about bouncing back then arranging new funds for the purpose of DCA may not be a problem for many people here. But the only thing we must need to make sure is that we are keep buying a  highly potential coin or not.  I never recommend anyone to go for DCA with any other coin except bitcoin. Overall, I mean where you are into DCA is more important as DCA may not work for all assets unlike stoploss.
2119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Greed Comes First in Trading, the Result is Bankruptcy on: January 19, 2022, 06:34:10 PM
Usually a trader will make profit if they move the opposite of the trend. Meaning they buy when the market falls and sell and when the market rises. For a newbie in trading, these basic things can be tough to comprehend
There are lots of similar techniques are available everywhere for better trading and when traders are adopting such a strategy along with being greedy may not harm them. But, entering positions and then trying to profit booking without proper plan and strategy but only out of greed might be very dangerous and definitely such type of trading habits will lead to bankruptcy in the end.
2120  Economy / Economics / Re: Digital asset is for holding on: January 18, 2022, 02:26:33 PM
Not each person has the ability to be patient in holding digital assets, some prefer to do a job that can give them a result instantly. For this type of people, they can focus on trading, especially day trading.
For those who are not having the ability to remain patient, even trading may not be a right option for them because, for trading also they need to be patient; moreover when some people are not having the basic needs of investment world, I guess they need to depend on their regular income stream only.

Yeah such people are not deserved to enjoy all the benefits of investment opportunities. This may sound harsh but in reality the benefits of crypto investments are only for deserved people.
