1161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next crypto craze? on: December 28, 2022, 06:22:40 PM
None of the Metaverse projects had yet released thier full platform yet. The ones the I was trying were Dacentraland but this also is yet not.
Play2Earn could still come up in the next craze since there are many developers that are developing games.
And then Defi which some platforms are trying to develop new algo for stablecoin and I think Defi will still be attractive soon because even the CEX nowadays are still doing it like the staking.
Maybe that is the issue with the metaverse projects? I mean they can't really be ever over, because if you say "this is it" people will start to mock it and leave easily and the ones who are haven't entered yet will have a good reason not to enter at all. I have seen better graphics on single solo developer built games than what decentraland had, so it is quite possible that it would never take off.

I understand there are some "game" games, like NFT and metaverse all combined and people hope that you could live there in the game 12-15 hours a day and make enough tokens to sell and make a living like that. But to say that metaverse would be an alternative reality where you will live? You need better graphics for sure.
1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX collapse: Good or bad for crypto in the long run? on: December 27, 2022, 08:43:40 PM
I personally think that the FTX collapse will be good for Bitcoin, as customer deposits will no longer be liquidated and spent on shitcoins while faking a BTC balance. That being said, I think it will be horrible for shitcoins like SOL & ADA, as suddenly they won’t have money from Bitcoin customers funneled to them and the companies trying to pump them are forced to liquidate their holdings.
Are we 100% sure about that? I mean you are assuming that exchanges learned their lesson and won't do it anymore after FTX bankrupted, but if FTX can't then some other could still do it? I am not saying it didn't stop some of them, I am sure some of them learned how dangerous it could be and reversing their actions nowadays but that is just a guess on how many because I do not believe that all of them stopped, only some of them probably stopped.

This is why I am guessing that the best thing we could do right now would be hoping that we are on the right exchanges that doesn't do it and not on the ones that are doing it. Maybe it got lesser compared to past, but it must be still around and still being done by some.
1163  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid running into financial ruin this Christmas! on: December 27, 2022, 03:30:25 PM
For sure some of them are spreading a lot of money because this is a once every year happening and I guess well deserved of all people treat themselves to have this enjoyment with their family with some gifts, after that of course you will grind again to get back those losses but of course, if you know with yourself that you don't have the capability to make spend a lot of money still give some for your family and make all those budget organize. Still use your money wise.
Honestly, I haven't spent "that" much on Christmas, I just spent good enough, like some gifts, small gifts at those and some food and wine and so forth which were all come to like $200 at most and that's it. If that is a lot then it is a lot and I don't care, because I have very few days when I can celebrate with the group of people I love, and that didn't really disrupted my finance a lot neither.

Sure I have to postpone one of my debts just one month further but that's really not a big deal if you consider everything together, it is still a fine situation. I have to say time and moments are a lot more valuable than money, because you can get the money back, you can't get the time back.
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should be very careful with alts on: December 27, 2022, 05:15:46 AM
Crypto is a perfect engine for scammers because it's still unregulated and it's also the wild west when it comes to making money quick with less efforts. .
I say NOT really a perfect engine for scammers but we can't deny that it was one tool for them to fool people and take advantage of the situation as they can be anonymous. Yet, many scammers have been captured and put in jail while using cryptocurrencies and it was because of the participation of the community.

I see that people are not learning how these scammers do, yet some people still fall into their hands because of their greed. Generally, they are now cautious with their actions and decisions when it comes to choosing coins to invest with.
People are acting as if scammers do not exist in the fiat world and that is the thing that bothers me the most. I mean fiat world has a lot more scammers and it happens every single day, so much so that there are companies out there who scam people constantly. This means that crypto of course has scammers, because everywhere and every currency has scammers, even non currency related stuff could be used for scamming as well, like scamming for influence or power as well.

All in all, you are not going to stop people from lying to get more. That is the nature of humanity and it will continue to do so until end of times. I am guessing that the best thing we could do right now would be just focusing on ourselves and how to prevent getting scammed.
1165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 26, 2022, 09:22:26 AM
Love the interview with Nikola Jokic asking him if he could pursue Aaron Gordon to join the slam dunk contest again. He should try.

The best game was in Denver, well that was expected but when Booker could not return to the game it changed my perspective.
And then, two Suns bench players stepped up their game. Landry Shamet (31 points 7/17 3-points, 6 assists) and Damion Lee (18 points, 4/5 3-points, 8 rebounds), these guys made the Nuggets suffer to claim a win at an easier path even without Booker.
But, Aaron Gordon also stepped up his game, Jamal Murray found his rhythm, and the Joker being his normal triple-double monster game.
Jokic set a record for the most points in a triple-double in Christmas franchise history. 41/15/15
Aaron Gordon doesn't dunk the way he used to, most people who dunk amazingly back in the day, become not so great players later on, like aaron gordon or blake griffin or westbrook. I know this is a sad thing to say, but the guy we all love and think as a big all-star name right now, Ja Morant, will be the same as well.

He looks great for not, but he will lose his hopes in 7-8 years and will become a boring player to watch eventually. Shooters keep staying good, rebounders too, passers too, but if all you do is jump super high and be athletic then you are going to lose that in no time and will become a player that is slow and useless.
1166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: December 25, 2022, 01:46:51 PM
We are talking about Biden, Trump, Harris, etc. But we are also ignoring the surprise candidates who could suddenly appear and take over the parties candidatures, I think Obama did so back during his first presidential campaign. I would expect to see some young candidate appearing out of nowhere and start gaining traction within the democrat party. It would be something which could put everyone's bets in disarray.

Also, the fact the Republican Party isn't calling out Trump for his latest behavior just shows they still fear a big come back and takeover.
Yes.. we can't actually discount that possibility. There is a good chance that some surprise candidate may popup. Trump himself surprised everyone in 2016, when he announced his candidacy and then gained a lot of momentum in short time. And back in 2020, it was Michael Bloomberg and Pete Buttigieg who surprised everyone during the Democrat primaries. And we don't know what will happen in 2024. Trump is more like a headache for the Republicans. They need to find a way to deal with him. As of now, Trump is more of an issue for the Republicans when compared to Democrats.
It is quite difficult in this circumstances, that's why it is not talked about all that much. During Obamas first term, he ran against all clean slate opponents. Bush couldn't be elected again, so Republicans had to pick someone that could win, they had to provide a brand new nominee, and same with democrats as well. So both sides had to find a "new" person, and the "first black president" made everyone go out to vote, he got the highest votes out of anyone until Biden did this last time.

So, it is clear that we are talking about a bit of an advantage there. Now? We may have 2 presidents running for re-election, it's hard to crack that.
1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 24, 2022, 08:20:23 PM
In the 14th Match Hobart Hurricanes vs Melbourne Renegades the game of these two teams has started. Hobart Hurricanes won the toss and decided to bat. Scored 85 runs in 13 overs. And Hobart Hurricanes lost 7 wickets. Melbourne Renegades are bowling very well. David Moody  He took 3 wickets with 16 runs from 4 overs. And Andre Russell took 2 wickets with 14 runs from 2 overs.
I was very surprised with the performance of Renegades in this match, their batting line up fully destroyed by the bowlers of Hobart Hurricanes. Although the Hobart Hurricanes haven't done too well either. Even so, I thought Renegades would win, as they have not lost a match till now  in their last five matches so far and they are also standing in 2nd place of the table. I think this match is one of the bad performance of them
Really entertaining match by these two with Renegades faces first defeat in this season with fail to achieve target like 122 is surely a big setback for them because early their bowlers done amazing stuff and restricted Hobart Hurricanes by this total Akeel Hosein and David Moody were the heroes as both done good stuff with not allowed any Hobart Hurricanes batsmen to play freely but in reply Renegades batting also faltered by Shadab Khan, Riley Meredith and other bowlers those restricted them and win their second match of this season which is really amazing stuff for the Hurricanes.

Now tomorrow we will be having off day in BBL due to 25th December things could be again on their best with Boxing Day matches which could be full of entertainment for the fans around the world.
1168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should your wife or husband know your seed phrase? on: December 24, 2022, 09:33:02 AM
...which I think depends on their own personality and family situation, and every family structure is different.
Glad you said it - every family structure is different.

The advice given in this thread will not work for everyone. People need to make a judgment for themselves whether they can accept sharing mneumonic phrases with relatives and/or loved ones.
You are right on the topic that you may not want to share when you are alive, that much is true, it all depends on the family situation. I am happy to share it with my wife, not that share cares lol, but at least I could share it and let her know how to cash it out in case of anything bad.

But, some other person may not feel comfortable with it, and there are even people who sign prenup before they get married, meaning they won't even pay money after divorce. However, letting someone know what to do, your wife or your husband or children, or even lawyer if you have to is important because otherwise that money is forever gone, and that would be a shame.
1169  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin high prediction 2023? on: December 23, 2022, 03:23:52 PM
The $30k prediction by the end of 2023 is much more feasible than the one that will happen later this year or mid-2023. Personally, I also predict that war or economic inflation will have positive signs and will recover from the end of 2023, and in 2024 we will have explosive development steps again. That time also coincides with the halving, so it is very appropriate to expect a bull market and it can be a super cycle because there are strong catalysts like economic growth.
I agree, it's quite reasonable amount to expect to be, it's realistic and it's not fantasy levels neither. I believe that it should not be that much of a trouble if we just go on a short bull run burst, it could possibly happen the way we want it to happen and I am guessing that it's not going to be too tough on anyone neither.

I am pretty sure it's going to be something that is a good level above 20k, because we have been under 20k for a while and everyone wants to see it go above, and not enough people are willing to keep it down, it's obvious from the fact that they can't keep it under 20k financially anymore, so they create chaos and gossip and rumours on media now to keep it under, which won't work for too long.
1170  Economy / Economics / Re: Is long-term employee retention a losing battle? on: December 23, 2022, 05:31:18 AM
If I was an employer and I would have to select one of employees that apply, I would take a person whos long term working experience in one company in his record of service, instead of a person that has changed 8 jobs in a single year, plus he probably has something unofficial. I value loyalty more, compared to how huge professional other employee is. I see no point in teaching, giving experience to a person, that tends to change jobs often. There are persons that aim on a result, try to build a career. You cant hold them forever with bonuses, high salary, free coffee and etc.

But in general a lot depends from a person. I know a guy, who works in a company since it was created (for 20+ years), his boss treats him and everybody like crap, he is in a bad relations with the boss, many people have left that company, that guy can also quit, but he keeps working there.
This is a wrong approach, and could be the worst one that I have seen in a long time. It is not the amount of jobs a person had, but the quality of the job they do which an employer should care about, because if you can find that one worker which could do what is asked, and do it perfectly, and even take incentive to do a better job than being asked, provide higher quality results than expected, then you do everything in your power to keep that person.

The reality is that most work places offer everyone the same amount of money, and offer a promotion as a promise, and people leave because of that, if I am 10x good and someone is 1x good and we get paid the same amount of money but I have a higher chance to promote, that's not good enough. I changed 7 jobs in 4 years before I found my latest job, been with the same boss for 6 years now. Shows you how it matters to reward the worker who works hard.
1171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Destroy Crap Altcoins? on: December 22, 2022, 11:31:41 AM
I am a supporter of a theory, that Bitcoin does not destroy crap altcoins, not does any effect on them, but all those crap altcoins destroys themselves, or die itself, or have a very-very short life. Why even bother, if there is nothing behind those altcoins. Ideas isnt new or primitive. It looks that all those crap altcoins kill each other while fighting for a spot on the market. Like there is a Bitcoin that lives his own life, and there are all others that live, fight, appear and die somewhere in other place, despite everyone is being in the same crypto market.
That is sort of true. Bitcoin gives people an out from those dying ones, so it is playing just a bit of part but people would get out of them and would go into the fiat world if there wasn't bitcoin, only handful of people would stay with the dying altcoins if there was no bitcoin, and they wouldn't go to fiat. So that means all those shitcoins that die? They die because they are terrible and there is nothing that we could do to make it change in any way or shape.

That is why I believe that it is important to pick the right altcoins, if you do not know what you are doing then you are going to end up with one of them of your own and you are going to regret the day you didn't do your research well enough.
1172  Economy / Economics / Re: Employers are Deflating Salaries in Job Ads to keep Pay Down on: December 22, 2022, 10:46:23 AM
Really crazy things are happening out there. Now to you the reader, supposing you have worked for the past 5 years your current organization and you find out accidentally from the HR in your organization that what you are being paid isn't the highest amount for your position. That is, you are being underpaid, would you ask for a raise or look for another job knowing that with your experience level you'd get a higher pay in another organization?
Some time ago, I was laid off work due to the recession. I already had a good number of years at the organization and had become proficient in my area of practice. I dusted up my CV and started sending it to recruiters on LinkedIn and on other platforms. Some organizations were impressed with my CV and I got a good number of calls of interviews. I got for offers for the same position and ended up picking the organization with the higher pay. I will always go for a higher pay because from experience job security is a myth.
Wow, good for you but I think if your boss didn't lay off you, you won't have an idea to look for another company right? The recession that came, must be a blessing of disguise to some because there are better opportunity that awaits them but I know not all are like that. Not all will end up in a happy ending. I feel sorry for them but these people shouldn't give up.

I hope they can find a replacement job soon even the pay isn't that high enough. What important is that they can have something to get to survive in this tough life. The last thing that you said is not a myth. A lot of people do really want a secure job as this can give them a peace of mind.
1173  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: December 21, 2022, 09:01:59 PM
I can understand your reasoning behind it, but I never auto cash out on Crash. It is a lot more thrill to always manually cash out but I never dare to really let it go so I always cash out pretty quickly; I think my max was like 3x lol.
With crash it is really hard to make wins, because in an event we could cash out at 3X or something. During that run it reaches 50X, and when we just leave it to crash automatically we'll experience the crash happening in less than 2X. Crash is enjoyable when spend with minimal bet values which won't hurt even if we experience continued loss.
I have played bustabit which is a similar version of it years ago and quite consistently as well, for hours per day everyday, and I can tell you that most people there had multiple bets going with multiple accounts.

Now that it is not allowed it is harder, but the idea was to cash out at 2x each time, which would be hard as it is, but at least keep it going and possibly maybe make some money, and use a small amount to not cash out at all and be the last one to get out, meaning doesn't matter how high it goes, could be 3x if everyone is out, could be 300x and still going if there is another player. That way they balanced the higher level and lower level together.
1174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Rank positions on CMC changes every bull market? on: December 21, 2022, 12:38:11 PM
What is the crypto projects in top 20 that will fail to retain their position in the next bull market? There is a saying that in every bull market new projects will take over the top 20, do you think another project can rob the positions that Avalanche, Matic, Polkadot and Solana tomorrow?
Lol look at those new project that you are calling to be changing the market , are they successfull in long term? or just for short term?
I may trust new project but for short term only and not for Holding , I have seen them growing and falling so my trust will remain for long time running coins like Bitcoin and of course Ethereum and Binance , also considering Ripple even there are lot of problem facing.
Probably they only climb up the ranks because of hypes but once it dies down, their ranks can also fall again and the old top crypto can go back on their previous positions but there are top coins too who can go bad or can turn into a scam same with luna where they can lose their positions permanently.

Coins that are above them are now going to move in their position. New coins that are sincere (non hyped) may take some time to climb the top ranks but it's worth it because they can sustain their positions. I think cmc ranking can change at anytime depending on the coins performance, and doesn't only change right after every bull run.
1175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 21, 2022, 12:06:21 PM
Without an all-star beside Luka, he will never win a title. That's how NBA is right now. In order for a team to win, you need to have at least 2 all star player on the team. You expect them to be in the play-in tournament. I believe they might make a roster change or make some trades this season, and maybe that might change the tempo of the team. I expect them to be at the 5-8th spot. Slightly higher than your prediction.
They truly need to do quick action about it because they making some huge mistakes right now about how they play and it's not effective enough to secure a top 6 spot in the current league nowadays. The western conference is truly wild random play nowadays and some straight wins these next few days will lift them up to the top and might gonna hold it well if they managed to change their line-ups and the way they play right now of course. Surely Luka is a star player but he really needs someone to rely on to take some contested shots and clutch shots whenever he is doubled.
It's not easy to build a team around someone, look at the old Mavs when they won the title, Dirk was amazing but he didn't had superstars around him, Tyson Chandler, older Kidd and Jason Terry if I am not mistaken, these were not star level players, they were decent to be fair but they were old players that played good on their roles.

I think Luka will have very hard time waiting until a team is built around him, so he needs to start doing some recruiting himself, he needs to make sure that some other superstar wants to play with him. I always assumed that someone like Trae would be great because they are friends, and they could play well together, and a great defender at wing or even at centre.
1176  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat and crypto and stock is bs, but property is real on: December 20, 2022, 08:54:53 PM
Fiat and crypto and stock is bs, but property although is just concrete but it is real.

I know all stock investor loss money and some of them are killed, but not all property investor loss money, when Elon Musk said crypto is as bs as fiat, I challenge him to prove me property is anything resembling bs.
I get the people who like to go with the traditional route, but crypto is crypto, the profit you make is the same whereas property is not exactly the same everywhere. Buying a house in Toronto, and Detroit is VERY different and yet they are side by side, biking distance, same goes for every nation everywhere, buying property is not exactly the same method and it doesn't allow you to make it work like that neither.

This is why I have to say that it's true for some nations with some laws and such, whereas it's not true for some other nations because it's a lot more strict and problematic as well. You can talk about whatever nation you are in, but this isn't globally true.
1177  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will BTC's market price go? on: December 20, 2022, 03:43:31 PM
I love your bullishness, we need more of it in these gloomy times.

IMO we won't see anything above 22k for another year, but I prefer to be ready for the worst if it's even possible.

I'm 100% sure of a couple things though:
We'll see another bull run in less than 3 years.
Next bull run will take us above the previous all time high
Bitcoin will never again go below the last bear market lows of 3k USD.

Knowing the above, I'm ready for whatever else I have to endure due to FUD, government attacks, market manipulation and all that. I know I've already won by holding bitcoin and I can only win more in time. There's no way for me to lose.

Make sure you hold as much bitcoin as you can and wait out the fear, as it will pass.
I disagree with that and I agree with the guy you respond to. I think bullishness is the way to go because we have been low for a long time and it is time that we start going up a bit more. I get that we have seen lower and lower prices for the past 13-14 months and that causes people some hopelessness and I get it.

But, I never give up hope on bitcoin and the bull run that we are going to have, and I believe 22k is not a year away, I think at most a few months and we are going to see that. Which is why I am fully invested, I do not have a dime that I can spare, all of my spare money is on bitcoin right now and I only have a bit left to live, because I believe it will go up a lot.
1178  Economy / Economics / Re: 2022-2023 Are Crisis don't ask or wait just do it print your own money on: December 20, 2022, 09:34:03 AM
This is not making much reasonable to me. Are you comparing cryptocurrency and fiat together, like people can go everywhere making their own fiat and using it as a family money creating their own value for it or they make it for the public and whole country to use it and another individual having his currency and we have 8 billion fiat currency in the world? You see that not making any reason. To cryptocurrency that some made they are crap and shit that not worthy staying on exchange. Shocked Grin
Making your own currency in the real world is prohibited but this is more possible in the online world or here in cryptos because we are decentralized here. Many people already think of it. They create their own coin in hopes of making a profit but most of this coins are still not being used by the majority.

What people need here in crypto are coins with real utility and not just the coin can be used as a currency because we already have that starting from the main coin Bitcoin. There are still other ways to print money here in crypto. We can do investing and trading. We can also apply for in-demand blockchain/crypto jobs. Sky is only the limit on here.
1179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: December 20, 2022, 07:48:01 AM
Arsenal is considered the biggest team in the  Europa  league because they are the most consistent team. Gabriel Jesus is not the reason,  if Gabriel doesn't recover quick as the league is beginning it won't stop them from performing well,  because they still have good players.
We have amazing performance from Arsenal in both Premier League and Europa Cup which is clearly giving impression they are fighting hard for the success in any event which is good after long time we have good strategy from the Arsenal for winning title even now with the injury of Gabriel Jesus things looking not easy, but we have nearly 5 to 6 weeks which are enough for recovery and Arsenal management is also working on few players transfer as they are feeling bringing quality players will help them for having improvement in positive results staying into hunt for the title race as well.

As right now few players are in media for their transfer into Arsenal surely look like management is ready to spend big amount which will bring quality players and results will be surely also good.
1180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: December 19, 2022, 09:51:32 PM
I think from the two Mick has made a very good choice as we all know Hamilton cannot race for more than 2-3 upcoming seasons at maximum performance,he can race for much more but his performance would be on the downside rather than on the upside and Mick is just waiting for his time to come to show his skills.I see a big future for him at Mercedes and most probably at Mercedes believe in him too otherwise they would have not signed him up.

Ricciardo I think was forced to go there as he had no other options and I see him as a driver which has already gave his best in F1,he is a winner of races and even won with McLaren but unfortunately he could not get a seat for next season so he settled at Redbull once again as reserve driver.
And you imagined that Mercedes would replace Hamilton with Mick? There is absolutely no way that Mercedes would hire him, they would be able to get anyone aside from maybe Charles and Max, all other racers are fine for them, get Norris if you want, young talented driver after all.

The idea that they would get Mick to replace Hamilton is impossible, so much so that there is a chance they won't even keep him at reserve driver spot until Hamilton retires, they may get a younger better guy there as well. I still think reserve drivers should drive for F2 though, that would be a lot better and all should be there, it would definitely improve the chances.
