2141  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS - 4 Antminer S1 boards only - untested on: October 20, 2014, 02:57:32 PM
Maybe I'll just turn this into a giveaway or something.

Want any hurricanes or fury's

I want your fury's. If the OP doesn't.
2143  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS - 4 Antminer S1 boards only - untested on: October 20, 2014, 02:18:32 PM
Do they have the heatsinks?
If so, I'll give .1 and pay for shipping.

No heatsinks, just boards.
2144  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS - 4 Antminer S1 boards only - untested on: October 19, 2014, 01:37:32 PM
look at this project, its about connecting hashing boards up, right now we are waiting for pcb to arrive for the first controller board

Not quite sure what you're talking about, but sounds interesting!
2145  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS - 4 Antminer S1 boards only - untested on: October 19, 2014, 01:36:34 PM
do you have the controllers board / where do you ship from / any pictures ?

Also, do they have the PCI-E connectors ?

Thanks

They're all hash boards, all the same, have PCI-e connector, one per board. I can take pics in a bit, watching the baby and on my phone right now. I'll take pics when I can use the PC. I ship from Reno NV USA.

I think it's just the fact that you're competing with large pools. It even takes out small-med sized pool a while to find a block... I know that Uray's pools find a lot and so does the dev's v2.
2147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New version 1.1.4 on: October 19, 2014, 02:27:32 AM
11 Days without a block with 9TB - what is going on with this thing? Was finding a block every day or two at most for the last 50 days until the 8th of October. Everything running as it should.

There's a spot of bad luck and then there's this.

9TB is not enough to solo mine IMO. Why don't you come join us at mine.burstcoin.info? I'm still doing my giveaway of 1600 burst for new miners.
2148  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Various Corsair/OCZ PSUs on: October 19, 2014, 01:56:52 AM
interested in one of the corsair 1000's. What price are you looking for here?
2149  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS - 4 Antminer S1 boards only - untested on: October 19, 2014, 01:47:23 AM
I bought these sorta on accident, thinking they were full S1's... but they're just the hashboards, so I have absolutely no use or desire for them, so I will sell them. No clue what they're worth. I'm sure I overpaid because I was thinking they were full miners... but it is what it is...

throw me an offer. Thanks!
2150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AntMiner L1 for sales $5/MH/s ships in December on: October 17, 2014, 10:44:28 PM
This thread is the funniest thing I have read in a long time.

That being said, if this L1 (mining x11 or not) isn't sold by the middle of next week, I want it. With escrow of course. Wink

Edit: My bad I didn't realize I had been derailed into the Altcoin mining section announcement page, lol.
2151  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Complete 7+ TH Mining Setup for sale on: October 17, 2014, 02:25:20 PM
No one is going to buy this from you at eBay prices if you're not going to split it up. It'd make more sense for someone looking to purchase a specific item to just go to eBay then, and buy that / those items. Why not offer to split the items up and ship as multiple parcels? You obviously have people interested.

+5

Just as I said man. The market you're looking for is not one and the same, you'll need to split this up to sell it almost guaranteed.
2152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 17, 2014, 02:20:45 PM
We are still looking for people on the pool, we've got about 50, but we're looking for 3 times that at least. We are constantly adding power, and the pool has been very solid.

So... I've decided to extend my giveaway, and up the amounts, the next 25 people to Jump on the pool, have me see them in the stats submitting shares, I will send 1600 burst!

PM me with your BURST address and once I see you in the stats submitting shares, you'll be paid immediately. I would prefer if people stayed for at least a day, but it's up to you if you want to take my money and run, if you are okay with doing that, that's on you!

I participated in the previous giveaway and received the incentive quickly. I recommend the pool and have been mining on the pool ever since. Besides the one downtime the pool has been stable. hopefully more people will join this great pool. The devs of the pool seem to be really active

Thank you. I appreciate your kind words.

Yes, the owners of the pool (Myself, Irontiga, fanepatent, and BTR) are very active. We do our best to make sure everyone is fully accomodated, we have issued our asset for purchasing new hardware to mine on the pool, and have already purchased 10TB that mines there. There will by many more purchases, and our pool will grow, we could just use some of your people's help, simply by mining on our pool and helping us grow.

Depending on the success of this pool, I will consider opening another US based (this time) pool with very low fees, and/or another asset with more rewards for mining, and different incentives. We are trying to better burstcoin, and we will.

Thanks!

-ANNOUNCEMENT-

The pool at http://mine.burstcoin.info needs miners. There is also an asset you can buy into there that will provide you with extra income. The connection was killed at a very unfortunate time, and thus the pool lost quite a few of it's miners. Now I am going to do this in order to get some back! So, here goes...

The next 25 miners to join the pool, PM me with their burst address, and wait for me to see them on the list of stats on the pool, will be sent 1,500 burst!

The 25 after that to do the same thing, will receive 1,000 burst.

The 25 after that will receive 750 burst.

We will start with that, and see how it goes. I am more than willing to do more giveaways.

The pool server has been solid now for a good while since the incident with the storm, and we shouldn't be experiencing issues like that again. So, let's get our power back and become the pool that we can be!

**Note, I also have another pool that's unofficially related to this pool, but it's private and no fee, and located in the US. If you're interested in that pool you can PM me. Not sure how long it will stick around, or if I will merge with the other pool, it all depends on the miner count and blocks found, etc.**

Burst forum.com is a well designed, awesome forum. Really intelligent people there willing and friendly to help. We are for the betterment of burst as a whole. Let's do it.  Wink

Pardon my phone spelling... Ffs.
2155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 17, 2014, 02:53:06 AM
What is the point of Burst if the hard drive space of the network can't be utilized? I see no mention of any development in regards to actually utilizing the storage space on the network for file storage etc.. on your website or forums.

Why not? It seems like this is the most obvious use for Burstcoin, and without being able to use the HD space then this is pretty much a clone coin with a different consensus algorithm.

For a consensus algorithm to work, you have to force some kind of commitment of economic resources to solution of a randomized problem.  It may be possible to force solutions to useful stochastic algorithms, but it's tricky.   The only viable coin I know of which even sort of does this is Primecoin, but as bitcoin shows, you don't need the consensus algorithm to be independently useful for the coin to be useful.

The burst consensus algorithm is much less energy-intensive than bitcoins, though.  This means that once a hard drive is committed to the burst network (a significant upfront cost), the marginal cost to keep it participating in the consensus is much lower than for bitcoin.  This means that transactions are always going to be cheaper in burst than they are in bitcoin, especially once the mining rewards run out, and that financial coordination of resources is always going to be more efficient in burst than in bitcoin.  Of course, proof of share consensus is even cheaper, but distribution of wealth means that PoS and even PoW will probably never be as democratic as proof of capacity (it's hard to see how there could be orders-of-magnitude efficiency gains in specialized hardware for burst mining, though I could be wrong), and this is why burst is exciting even though it's a "clone" of NXT, which is PoS and 100% premined.   The democratic nature of burst's consensus algorithm is not just ideologically appealing, either.  It means responsibility for the consensus is spread much more uniformly across a much broader audience, making collusive corruption much harder to pull off.

So no, I would say that the consensus algorithm alone makes this more than just another "clone coin."  In fact, being a "clone" of NXT is a huge advantage, because the NXT premine is funding all sorts of cool development, which Burst can fold in relatively easily while at the same time providing much more trustworthy security for its blockchain.   And that's not to say there aren't cool things being independently developed for burst.  There are.

VERY well written. Well said. Well done! You sir, should definitely be a promoter for burst, you're able to accurately portray burst AND come up with reasons as to why it's awesome other than just saying "you can mine with hdd." We definitely are lucky to have people like you in our community. Thanks.

This might be perfect timing...we are raising donations for promoting BURST coin.  This is a first of its kind type coin that is mined using HARD DRIVE SPACE!

I would post over there with your info.  I hope this works out, it looks like you do great work!  - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731923.13780

I'm all over this, and so far one of the biggest contributors for the bounty we're collecting. I would be more than willing to donate more to promote burst. this coin needs to be in the spotlight, it's the future of mining IMO.

No escrow needed with this guy. Trust ratings say a lot. Thanks xjack!

Very good idea, maybe we could start something like a poll to find a/some promoter/s and offer them a contribution in burstcoins.
A platform like reddit is necessary, without a dedicated community, something like that isnīt going to happen.

But on the other hand, watch Doge, much community such promotion and decreasing in value just like burst, wow.

Exactly....Most of the guys on burstforum are very dedicated and hope they are welling to back up this idea...

I will donate 100,000 BURST to a LEGIT promoter who actually does good work.

I will also help in any way that I can.
