1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] - NEW BURST OP - MINE WITH YOUR HDD - ATs, AE, P2P MARKETPLACE, and MORE! on: February 05, 2016, 07:36:14 PM
Guys - after the fuck up with the marketing stuff previously perhaps look at trying to get an article about AT ACCT published via this: http://cointelegraph.com/news/cointelegraph-aspiring-authors-and-bloggers

Also please give @vbcs your support - I have provided him with a new design for AT ACCT that will kick ass but he isn't feeling very loved at the moment (so the work just isn't happening).

You should also keep in mind that Qora is your partner in AT and that the two projects should be trying to help each other (not trying to create any controversy - people can decide which platform they prefer - but if people work together it will benefit all of the platforms).

Hey Man, good to see you around! Absolutely, I'll see what I can do about writing something to them (unless anyone has an objection to be doing so? I feel I'm a fairly decent writer...)

I fully agree with you that working together will benefit everyone, and I'm always an advocate for it. Thank you for your tireless work! If you post a few donation addresses, I can give you some BURST, and pretty soon, some BTC, and I can also give you some of my ByteEnt asset that pays monthly, so you can get a partial salary of sorts for everything you're doing for BURST! (and others, namely QORA)

Wonder if I could go into QORA thread and get some people interested in coming to our community as well, and vice-versa. I very much enjoy a good partnership/team.

Once again, good seeing you, and hope to see ya more often!
1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | Hybrid Security | 25% PoS on: February 05, 2016, 03:54:23 PM
DMD Multipool / DMD CLoudmining is down until issues with hosting company are solved

it seems running cryptocoin services in their network is forbidden by their terms of use

in case we find no solution with them (which im afraid will not happen....)

we have to move to another hosting provider

i keep ya updated

DMD Multipool and DMD CLoudmining income is not affected

only the frontend logic and process payouts was managed by that server

as soon as we open server at new place again we can process all payouts and nothing will be lost

If you need some help with hosting, I myself have some space available on a server or two I own. Then I have a friend in the BURST community who will very soon have an INSANE setup going in with his colo, and I'm sure I could work you an awesome price on a portion of that. Just let me know!

I don't think my host has anything bad to say about crypto, as I've been running my pool there with over 2 petabytes (sometimes up to almost 4 petabytes) of mining power for over a year. I think I'd have figured out their dislike of crypto by now!  So yea, let me know, and I'm sure I can help out in this regard. Smiley

------- on an unrelated note --------

PS... if there's anyone here that would like to do a straight up trade for BURST to DMD, let me know! I am looking to buy, but until I can re-buy my sold BTC from the past few months (until receiving my child-tax awesomeness awesomeness this month. lol) I am sitting on mainly BURST with which to trade... and I hardly ever sell much there, I like my stash. But I really want to pick up some DMD...

So anyone willing to trade, for BURST (I think I have maybe .25 BTC or so as well I could get rid of) and also, some BURST assets that payout monthly (based on my pool's fee, and a 30+ TB miner I run, plus a few other random sources) and has been paying out monthly over a year and never missed a payment. It will never miss one. Just let me know, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!
1183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] - NEW BURST OP - MINE WITH YOUR HDD - ATs, AE, P2P MARKETPLACE, and MORE! on: February 05, 2016, 07:34:05 AM
I've been following Burst since 2014, but always had trouble understanding it with Linux and multiple drives.
I have a main SSD OS drive I don't want to mine on, then a platter 2TB HD(going to add more)
I have a 4770K for the processor and 750Ti for the GPU.  What is the best method you think of going about all this?
I assume I should pool mine?  How long does it take to make a 2TB Plot on CPU vs GPU.
What about 50TB?

My suggestion is to check out my video in my signature and on the main OP, it will explain how to use the GUI for Windows.

This is BY FAR the easiest way to get started mining BURST, thanks to daWallet, our awesome developer of that project!

This, is in my opinion, what has made BURST something that anyone can do now, when, as you say, it may not have been that straightforward at first. The reason for this, I think, is that it is not the same as any other coin... But, this is also what makes it so great! It's unique! It's amazing!

So yea, definitely give the GUI a shot, the link was made when the initial version was released, but the installation process shouldn't be any different, and though the sound on the video sucks, it should still be relatively identical to the way things are done in the new version.

I will soon make new tutorials on how to use all of the easy to use components available in the network now. I will be posting links in my cloud for those, and giving out more free accounts for my beta release. (which also includes the BURST web wallet integrated, but not the fancy password manager that is in the GUI, which I love! and use all the time!) But I think at some point I will talk with daWallet and see about getting the entire GUI put into my cloud.
1184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] - NEW BURST OP - MINE WITH YOUR HDD - ATs, AE, P2P MARKETPLACE, and MORE! on: February 05, 2016, 07:19:37 AM
So no one else is having an issue with the block explorer?

block.burstcoin.info

Displaying no information on transactions.

Same problem here.

Wallet issues, vps got suspended for some reason which corrupted the Burst DB. It's resyncing atm.

Why don't we move this over to a better host? We've got a whole crapload of options between haitch and myself, no reason to be running on a vps that could be 'suspended'. That's... kinda silly.

On another note, I'm sorry for the delay in the payouts for ByteEnt, I've gotten about 8 hours of sleep so far this week O_o. I guess you could say, "Time flies when you're having fun..." or "Time flies when business is growing", either way! Good things though!

But anyway... Payouts will happen soon... *glances in tiga's direction in hopes he'll bug me tomorrow and take my focus off whatever I'm doing for 20 min and remind me to get payout cash together.* lol.

But either way, it is going to happen, even if I end up doing it myself, seems to have gone alright last month xD.

I will have updates on some of the other things I've got in the works, and the issuance of my new asset as well, and for those of you who have yet to read the pre-release papers, here's that link...

https://docs.google.com/document/d/12o7gnqFWqnJFb1mPNDTwgdsCqoxavkdvJx3hF7LvCXo/edit?usp=sharing

Please feel free to comment. Thanks!

I think I will modify it very shortly and put the dates into a more solid setting. (Yes, that's my not-sleeping-much-watching-a-movie-at-the-moment way of saying I think I'll put a release date to it, or at the very least, think of one, and modify numbers if need be, you know, get prepared!)

So, a question...

What do you all think of me using a service to help promote the release of either my asset or various other projects? Something we should give a shot or is it a waste of money?

Another...

If I were to offer a US based contractor position (yes, as in a job) that was commission based (with great commission) how many of you would be interested? Or is this a ridiculous place to offer something like this? What if I were to add the stipulation that I would either devote a certain amount of the commissions to buying BURST or assets, and/or making more assets or projects?

(The commission here would be very long term, and a great percentage. Something that will definitely require a bit of effort, but would be greatly rewarding, for a long period of time afterwards.)

Thanks for taking the time to answer!
1185  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I am out of the mining game :( on: February 02, 2016, 01:39:27 PM
Sad to hear you lost money on that one. I guess that with the current prices (that are somewhat low) it is harder yet. Have you tried POS coins? You can invest a little and not risk much. I love NETcoin for example, that provides some interest in the form of newly staked coins every few (six) hours.

Now that you mention PoS coins, a good way to earn some good profit is by investing into Tekcoin. Its price has gone down drastically which makes it a great choice to buy a huge stack of them while you still can and earn some pretty good stakes. The good thing about Tekcoin is that once you have some coins, just wait every 30 days for them to mature and earn some stakes.  Smiley

POS is a great option the only thing is you have to have coins to start, but you could do that, or... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1323657.0;topicseen

PoC Wink you can in almost every scenario mine with something you've already got, takes almost no power (just like PoS) and has a more 'mining' feel to it, because, well, it's mining!

hell, do them both! Smiley

you can go big, you can go small, doesn't matter. If you run your PC anyway, no reason not to. We even have a GUI miner/plotter/wallet now. Give it a shot!
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | Hybrid Security | 25% PoS on: February 02, 2016, 01:28:37 PM
Sounds identical to BURST in many aspects, pioneers, working tirelessly, and fair rollout are all familiar terms to me Wink

I am hoping to be able to do exactly the above, tell an amazing story in the future, and hopefully be involved directly, with a project that changes the way things are done entirely.

I think I should fit right in here. Absolutely. Gonna go run off and buy my first coins, then take a shower, and get ready for another day.

One that should be fun, as I was literally up all night, working then deciding whether to sleep or not, then getting sucked into the forums and discovering new areas I may enjoy...lol... and based on what I'm seeing here, it's absolutely the right decision. Can't wait to chill more and get it completely figured out.

I've just recently released another asset, based upon my own real company, that I hope will be start of something pushing people into thinking more outside the realm of crpyto when considering a basis for a crypto based asset. I mean, just because you're on a blockchain, doesn't mean you have to be a mining power based investment.

There are so many directions to go within this new exciting realm we all love, just have to decide how you'd like to get there, and run with it. So much freedom, so much joy and fun! I truly anticipate 2016 as the year where the truly powerful newer projects shine, and I wish you here in DMD community great luck, as just the same to my home community of BURST.

Wonder what a DMD based BURST asset would look like.. That's already running through my mind, though it WOULD be crypto based crypto asset, I still do enjoy those types of mutually beneficial scenarios, and there are always ways to add to them, even if started as a more 'normal' asset for crypto scene.

So, staking AND mining huh? That's very interesting, I'll need to look into that, I've got a few extra SHA ASICs that are burning themselves out, I can run them to death here, a fitting and triumphant end! hehe.

But if I am able to get the coin together to pick up one of these bids, is this something I may be able to base an asset on? it allows for staking, but with some sort of magical bonus  or some such, yes? xD

1188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: February 02, 2016, 12:43:06 PM
Spend fortunes on Cpu / Cpu / ASICs and now it's time to spend on HDD:  NVIDIA - AMD - WD - SEAGATE SAMSUNG, TOSHIBA,  etc ... all happy and rich. You, me, ( WE )  in poverty, with dilapidated equipment, spending hours configuring plots, sad.

By the way. What is the value of each "minted" coin?

Yes, because god forbid you have extra HD space... what would you ever do with it? Get real man. HDD mining is NOTHING like GPU/ASIC, in any way, at all.

Get your facts straight before you come in here spouting off a bunch of nonsense.

HDDs are not only able to be used for multiple purposes, they're relatively inexpensive, and hold their value better than almost any other computer component. Then you add the fact that running one barely takes any power, and what do you get? That's right, nothing like GPU/ASIC mining.

Let me give you an idea of the difference...

I run at my house right now...

2 BURST mining machines, one a custom built water cooled i7 extreme edition, 32 gigs of RAM, etc, with 40TB in external HDD space mining BURST (to which I could easily add another 120TB before this computer starts using even a 5th of its power... The machine literally idles all day, using barely any of its GPU with which to read the 40TB in drives in around 45 seconds total (with unoptimized plots, could be much lower...) every 4 minutes or so. Essentially, since I left this computer on all day anyway, it costs me basically nothing

I then have a rackserver that runs 16 opteron cores, 32gb of ram, and another about 35-40TB BURST mining power. This machine is completely unnecessary really, as it is less efficient, and uses more power just to run, and I could easily put these drives on the i7 machine, and still have plenty of power to spare, and read the plots faster with the GPU... but, I still run this useless machine for no real reason whatsoever. Eventually I plan to add more power to it, and a GPU, but currently it uses its CPU to run the mining, in the most ineficient way possible, but STILL... I don't really notice much of a hit to power bill.

The two machines above, since they ran all the time even before they were  mining BURST, basically didn't increase my power bill at all when I started using them for BURST. My power bill was around 220 dollars give or take per month, and maybe 250 with these machines mining, in one of the most inefficient ways, (probably less) and not optimized at all as far as plots...

NOW...

I also have 3... yes only 3... of the Antminer S3 (not too old, but not that new either) that give me just over 1.4 TH of BTC SHA mining power... I can only even attempt to run these things in the winter, because the HEAT KILLS ME, and I refuse to even attempt in the summer. Then, I make use of them if I can as heaters in locations in my house that I don't mind the NOISE, and have to make whole special setups just for them, with dedicated wifi adapter, and extension cords/thick industrial power cables, etc... and make sure they're not getting too HOT in the location, monitor them for quite some time, then finally say "okay, they're decent"...

2 of them, I have no place in my house to run them, so they don't even get to be heaters, because even these small machines are so LOUD that I can't stand to have them even across the room from me. Drowns out conversation... So, these are running in the garage, nice and cool considering the 20 degree temps here lately, but not able to use their excess heat like I do with the other, to heat a particularly cold upstairs room in my house, which I do find I like...

HOWEVER...

These 3 small miners, draw about the same amount of power as my entire house, including the BURST miners. Since part of the power is paid a bit by using them as heat, I'll just say that they cost me 175/month or so... hell, I'll be generous, and say 150 though I'm certain it is more.

If I were to cash out my btc mined each month, it would pay about 120 of that... leaving me mining at a pretty substantial loss. Luckily, it isn't a big deal to me, and I want to get use of these LITERALLY USELESS FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN THIS, machines. Their value is basically nothing, when only a year ago they were considered fairly valuable... My drives for BURST, are worth about the same as I paid for them over a year ago...

So... you tell me, which is smarter? Which makes more sense... should be pretty obvious.

I think I'll max my i7 out on BURST mining power just to see how much I can  make it handle. To really show how big the difference really is.

Thank you all for the warm welcome Smiley

I hope all goes great as  well, and I'm sure it will.

I generally watch and learn for a while, but eventually I will end up providing services of all types, and doing bigger things, just as I've done with BURST. So I'm hoping that this project will allow me even more to work with in the realm of crypto Smiley

Teach me everything! heh.

I really like the idea of this coin.  It keeps the Proof of Work spirit of building awesome rigs, yet uses a fraction of the power.  May grab an extra HDD for my computer and mine, have missed having rigs around since selling off most my hardware Smiley

That's not all it does, but yes, it's very exciting in that regard as well, please do stick around, you've not seen anything yet!

Cheesy This goes for everyone. Wink

BURST is just a little late in getting recognized as it should, but it is going to be.

The mining in the traditional sense people, are going to eventually realize that it is too much hassle, they're the ones who love it obviously or they would've stopped a while ago (I still run SHA miners for heaters... lol literally...) these are the people who will find BURST, realize the above, and start building a farm, even if the profits aren't insane right now.

More and more people will do this...

Then, people will start realizing all of the other BURST features and what is truly capable with what BURST has... more and more services will be developed, assets released, and overall growth will greatly improve.

Then, it will happen...

Overnight, it will explode. Some big investor comes along and likes what they see, and decide to invest in the technology, and/or one of the projects based on the chain, and BURST goes down in history.

At least, that's how I see it anyway, but you could say I'm just a little biased. xD

Well, I finally decided to get myself a dmd wallet.

Thinking about throwing some SHA power (only 1.5 TH) and maybe a bit of random gpu at this for fun... but I'm really here for this coin's interesting properties, I'd like to do a bit of studying on it and see if I would like to get in on this auction you've got going on, because after all, who doesn't like being legendary? heh.

Anyway, hello dmd community, how's it going?

project looking inteesting right now!
bought some coins  Smiley

Thanks!  We're doing everything we can to make sure as many people feel this way as possible. Smiley If this is your first BURST purchase, welcome to the community, hope you stick around, as there will be many new and exciting things to come!

I'd like to take this time to personally thank every member of the BURST team. Without you guys, we'd have nothing. You're the best. Thank you for your selfless efforts within the coin, even when there seemed no hope left to some, you didn't let that affect you, and for these reasons, and many more, you are to be praised! You guys are a true bunch of badasses. Not many people will work as much for free as you have, for the glimpse of joy at the end of an arduous and trap-laden rainbow.

To the BURST team! Here's to 2016 and beyond, the year of the GREEN currencies, the year of the awesome technology realizations, the year of the change in thought process of many, and the gathering of the masses in support of projects that make sense. Down with the scams, down with the needless burning of power, and possible house fires!

Up with innovation, decentralization, and the way of the most sense. The way that makes people understand the things that before seemed impossible, and the way that leads to success for the ones who knew how to make it such.

Join the ones who are doing this, be one of the few not sponsored by millions of dollars and hype, build a foundation of awesomeness, and strive to make it more, and make it accessible, loved, and made use of to the ones who could not before even know where to find it, let alone understand and use it! Get there with the help of an awesome team, and feel good about it, because it is awesome.

Okay, carry on...

Still looking for more comments and suggestions, etc, on my pre-release asset draft papers...

https://docs.google.com/document/d/12o7gnqFWqnJFb1mPNDTwgdsCqoxavkdvJx3hF7LvCXo/edit?usp=sharing

Excellent job. Lookin forward to read full release

Thanks, and honestly there shouldn't be all that much of a difference between this and the final version, aside from dates and numbers finalized, etc. I want to make sure to give everyone enough time to review, make decisions, etc. Also, the longer I wait it's just the more I have to show for what I do during the time. So I'm not in a rush to get this out by any means.

That being said, I do hope to have the final done and at least have dates set, and numbers as close to final as possible, within a few weeks or so. I think something like this gives people real investment options, as it is a real company, and real share style investment option, so they're likely to need more time in which to talk to their people, and come up with the plan that they believe is best for them in regards to the asset.

If anyone has any sort of suggestion within any aspect of it, simply comment there on the doc itself, or here, or in the thread I opened specifically for it, and I'll be more than happy to check them out, and make changes if they're something that makes sense. Also, if anything I've written seems unfair in any way, or if you'd like expansion on some aspect, let me know!

I'm looking forward to the year, it will be very exciting to say the least! I have a few other ideas as well, on my own, and with multiple partners, and one with a partner who has no idea he's going to be doing this aspect of things too, but he will! So be on the lookout for many exciting projects coming from my direction and that of my close team and partners.

On another note, I've found irontiga. I figured he'd come back randomly, and that's exactly what he did. This means that soon enough we'll be modifying the links on the info site, and whatever else eneds done that we were unable to do without our beloved metal cat.

BURST remains profitable to mine, and hardly takes any power at all, you can run 40TB of HDD space, with a single decent laptop. You can even mine with raspberry pi. Which I think will run 8TB... and drives will cost you nothing in power, are relatively inexpensive to purchase, and have great resell value. So it's kinda funny that people aren't jumping all over it.

But... the time is near. I see the people who used to support hardcore BTC mining, dwindling in their support of it, I see the people who used to love BTC, moving on to love a new tech that makes mores sense as far as sustainability... I mean really, do we all think that when EVERYONE knows about crypto, that mining with ASICs is still going to make sense?? Where is all of this power coming from? Or are we going to give in and just allow a few central authorities to run the entire network? Then if so, have we even gotten anywhere with this whole venture?

BURST has everything that BTC  doesn't, and so much more. Not to mention working Automated Transactions before anyone else, and without any funding whatsoever. While ETH was still thinking, and collecting millions to help, BURST had proved the existing  ability to make use of its Automated Transactions.

Don't get me wrong, there are a few other projects that will be amazing as well, but BURST is definitely one of them.

Running a hard drive for 60-120 seconds every 4 minutes or so, and a CPU or GPU at partial capacity to read that HDD, is nothing. It is basically the same as running your computer, without mining.

If you disagree, I challenge you to try it.

If you like mining, what have you got to lose? Not power, maybe a few hours time in learning an awesome technology? That's sad, why would you want to do that... lol Wink

Let me do any sceptics here a favour as to where things are going to go during and after the show tomorrow.....

The updates/news I drop will be the biggest I have ever achieved with promoting Viral and contributing to the progression and workings of Viral.

I have been very hard at work, meeting with some very high calibre people when it comes to Viral and those very interested in Viral that have big stakes to bring to the table. 2016 is going to be an epic year of history in the lifetime of Viral. The roadmap that everyone has been used to will look like a kiddy pool once the Olympic sized pool is open for a swim.

Anyone who is not stacking up VIRAL at these insanely low sats will be slapping themselves silly when the gates open........

My trust in you has never wavered bro, super stoked to hear what you've got to say, as if you're mentioning it in this manner, it's gotta be pretty big. Hopefully I will be available during the show and after, so I can hear it live. But I've been very hard at work myself, so I may have to get a recording from  you upon completion.

*waits with anticipation*

I've not sold a single V aside from the ones I did at very beginning to get my initial investment back, and I've been staking since day 1. I'm looking forward to what you've got to say there boss, good to see ya post, btw. lol.

If you're down, take a look at the *new* BURST thread, and you'll see some new things there as well, partially on behalf of yours truly Wink

I've got a damn good feeling about 2016, gonna be a good year bro, a truly good year. Smiley VIRAL and BURST are definitely two to watch!

Still looking for more comments and suggestions, etc, on my pre-release asset draft papers...

An extremely well written document. Cheers!

I strongly encourage everyone to read it asap.

Thanks m3ta, much appreciated. I've put time into it, just as I have with my company, and I wanted to make sure it was shown through the release (or in this case, pre release) document as well. Glad it is coming off that way!
1200  Economy / Securities / [Pre-ANN draft] Crowetic Computers - Investment op - REAL company, REAL asset. on: January 30, 2016, 06:11:27 PM
I wanted to get some more feedback aside from what I've received based on the very limited number of places that this has been posted, I've got the document open for comment, so please do so.

But please, this isn't the place for trolling, if you're the type to do that, if you could leave this particular thread and link alone, I would appreciate it. This is something that is serious, and I'm serious about it. I'm all for fun and games, but not here and not in my Pre-release draft. Thanks.

Anyway, to all interested in something that is going to be long-term, and based on a real company, I present to you the Crowetic Computers, LLC. asset. (Asset is based on the BURST chain, but it isn't absolutely necessary that you purchase with BURST. Though, you will have to at least have a BURST account, with which to hold your asset and receive payouts. The ease-of-use within the BURST wallet, makes it as easy as copying and pasting a phrase, (or how I would suggest, use the encrypted passwords manager within the Windows GUI wallet) and logging into the wallet. There are web-based wallets that allow for no need to download anything, and you can easily switch to a new wallet at any time, transfer over your asset holdings, and you'll then get paid to that address.

I am open to comments and suggestions in all aspects, so please do so (without immature nonsense please.)

This is something I've been thinking of doing for quite some time, and the productivity and growth I've seen within my business in the short time since I've decided to really start pushing things and going back out doing local and actual IT services, is happening a lot quicker than I had initially expected, and I think things are almost ready to be setup now. I've written this doc for people to get a better idea of what my offer will be, and also in order to get feedback, and have the ability for people to gain more information on me, and why this investment is something that will give a good name to the crypto community, and show that there are many uses to many aspects of the technology, and provide more exposure to one of the most exciting and innovative projects (BURST ((my opinion here of course, but DYOR)) currently available.

This would be the second long-term asset I've released, first of which was just based on a project and some mining, but has been running solid for a year, never missed a payout, and is one of the most well respected and highest volume assets in the network. This one, I believe, will be MUCH larger, as it involves something that will bring a flow of money into the community, and likely bring more eyes to all aspects of crypto and especially the BURST (coin) project.

I will quit talking, and let you read and comment on the paper. Thank you for your time, and potential comments!
