221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 21, 2023, 11:30:12 PM
I was in argument with someone. His view is that people who gamble are those that what they have is not sufficient for them and so they try to make more money from gambling. He said if you have sufficient money to take care of your needs that you won't think of gambling. He made reference to some rich people, who don't gamble because they have sufficient money to even gift to charity but that those rich who still gamble are only addicted to it not just because of the money. Therefore, that the percentage of the rich gambling is very small compared to those in middle class and lower class.

So my question is, is the percentage of the rich gambling lower than the middle and lower class?

How can we know it? Do we have an accurate source regarding that?

Maybe that is something we don't really need to know or discuss. People have different reasons why they gamble regardless if they are rich or not. We will just give a headache to ourselves if we will think about that since again, we don't have anything like an accurate source to know the exact details about it.

The reality though is, many are really gambling regardless of people's financial status and capability.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $1,080 Billion powerball lotto winner in the USA on: July 21, 2023, 11:19:21 PM

What great luck indeed. As most say and one of the famous statements or quotes regarding the chances of winning the lottery, it's even more chance to get hit by lightning than winning a lottery lol. I can't imagine the feeling of these people who won big starting from what's the real deal and how to manage the winning money.

Surely, those plans prior to winning won't be followed out of excitement holding that kind of huge money.

anyway, it still really surprises me that if the winner decides to take the prize in one lump sum, they will only get half of the total price because of the taxes that will be taken out.

For sure, most lottery bettors already know the term and are just fine with it once they won.

To them, what matter here is winning that lottery. A half amount as a reward prize is still an imaginary amount that anyone dreams about.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is Gamble gaining more fans than Bitcoin? on: July 20, 2023, 11:54:47 PM
In the world to day gambling is leading instead of BitcoinBTC (crypto currency) and more are still wanting to join gambling because the minimum age to gamble is 18+ and lot of upcomings are waiting and this is the total amount of gamblers, so let's talk about the crypto currency (Bitcoin) we all know that Bitcoin is a good investment and it has changed a lot in the crypto world but the interesting part is that the numbers of Bitcoin investors can't be compared to gamble and my question is Why? or  is the risk involved in Bitcoin higher than gambling risk?

The comparison is not appropriate. Gambling and crypto are in different stages.

Aside from that, people also have different preferences. We can't just force or lure people into crypto even how far we explained to them the technical aspect of it and the promising good returns in terms of considering crypto as an investment. Gambling in general can somehow considered a form of entertainment and there is no doubt that if such a thing is entertaining, more people will be hooked on it - a social community.

Don't take it too much technical. The level of risks has really nothing to do with why people are mostly gambling instead of investing or taking part in crypto.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Stop Gambling Even If You're Doing Great If This Happens To You on: July 20, 2023, 11:41:15 PM
Will you explain to him that you are doing great and you are not a compulsive gambler
Will just stop gambling  and be practical and get that multi million inheritance
You'll just go on with your passion and just forget the money that your father will give to you as inheritance.

There will be no accurate (or even close) answer here even how far we discuss it because we don't feel the actual pressure on the situation. We don't know being struck with that situation and we can't understand how far the gambling addiction of that person involved is.

Others can easily say, to stop, to continue, or so on because it's easy to make a guess without any pressure.

For me just a matter of respect to our parents but as we know, we will surely have a different approach once we are in that situation for real.
225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mistake that prevented your big win. on: July 20, 2023, 11:31:02 PM
So my question is this,as a gambler what mistake have you made when gambling that prevented you from winning big.

I wouldn't call it or consider it a mistake.

In the first place, what if the other way happened instead and our luck direct hit us at that moment?

It's just that we take the risk of wanting a bigger prize in return. That's common and usual to happen when we do gambling. In most cases, we are struck with different options just to try our luck and hope for a better result in the end.

Regret does happen. It's not a mistake. Just charge it to our experience and take that as reference for a much better good decision making in the future.
226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 18, 2023, 11:41:45 PM
If that's true, then the 76ers management should think about building a really strong team before Embiid runs out of patience.

Actually, Philly is always doing their best to build a strong core around Joel Embiid every season. Even reshuffling the coaching staff is being considered. They are always active at trying to get into hot trades and actively fishing some good role players at the free agency.

The "Trust the Process" that is currently several years in the making now achieved 1 achievement, and that is Embiid now finally getting his NBA Season MVP award. The next and the biggest one should be the NBA Championship but will he be able to achieve it in Philly or elsewhere?

Chemistry issues indeed. Again as I mentioned, several times already where Philly tried to build a solid lineup around Embiid but nothing works effectively. Maybe Embiid can find it on another team but as long as he won't demand a trade, Philly should just try their best to find a good role players out there that will perfectly blend with Embiid.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 18, 2023, 09:34:20 PM
Doping should not be allowed in any case, I do not understand who is making such insane decisions. Using drugs can be risky for the players.
Yes, the performance and energy levels of the players may increase but in the long run, this is deadly for the player themselves. I guess the players should protest against this decision.

Mate, the purpose of the said event is to allow the use of such drugs. Therefore, it will be allowed.

The participating players here obviously accept the terms and are interested in using such drugs.

The only thing that can stop it is if most countries will oppose that event and won't allow that to commence no matter what.

I think the one planned by the organizing of this event that allow doping will have its separate set of athletes and it may not par with the Olympics in the beginning but I believe it will eventually catch up due to the possible huge funding that supports it.

Obviously, participating athletes here are separated from the athletes in the Olympics.

I doubt the event will be successful because for sure the organizers will face lots of legal issues especially if the said enhancement drugs do have a status of being "prohibited in general" and not just for sports. Anyways, let's see then at the end of the year if this will really push.
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling everywhere on: July 18, 2023, 09:12:28 PM
lot of people here do say we should use spare money to make a bet (stake) but we all know that there is nothing like a spare money if people save money for future use I don't think a well thinking person will also save money for gambling,

Don't make your gambling experience too technical and complicated.

Regardless if that money used in gambling came from so-called "spare money" and as you mentioned there's no such thing as spare money (I partially agree with you on that) it all depends on how responsible you are during your gambling session.

Spared money, saved money, money that you can afford to lose, etc., or whatever terms you want to name it, that is all useless if you are not responsible for managing it. In the world of gambling, managing properly the bankroll is the key to taking our gambling session in the long run without harming directly our own money in our pocket.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What kind of rewards/bonuses do you prefer? on: July 18, 2023, 08:51:52 PM
Though it's currently very common in online casinos to wager bonuses before they can be claimed, left to me I'll prefer to the bonuses to be claimed without wagering,

That's possible but yes, it's rare to find such a bonus.

I've subscribed to an email list at most fiat online casinos and most of them are offering good bonuses but obviously, there's a wagering requirement. If there's a promotion referring to No Wager bonuses, they are only giving out a few free spins and there's a deposit requirement.

For me, don't expect too much from that as there's a good and better way instead even if there's a wagering requirement involved. That is, bonuses should allow a decent max withdrawal amount especially if the wagering requirement or turnover is difficult to achieve. Sometimes I'm seeing only an average $50 max withdrawal for an x30 - x45 turnover. That was something hard to do and the reward for the effort is not worth it.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 17, 2023, 11:58:41 PM
I think it's a bold move by Phoenix to traded Cam Payne, I think they don't believed that Payne could really be a good guard for them. Of course he has been mentored by CP3, but since he is gone, then I guess they have to traded him too.

Aside from that, I think the move was also an advantage for Cam Payne as he will be utilized more in another team.

With the current stacked roster of the Phoenix Suns right now especially at the guard position, Cam Payne will not grow anymore on this team. It's a good move that instead of keeping him on the bench for long, used his value to get a good deal.

Both Phoenix Suns and Cam Payne do have a win and advantage on that deal. I'm expecting Payne will make a noise next season.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 17, 2023, 11:47:12 PM
The real spirit of sports lies in the stamina of the player. When they were allowed to use dope and other drugs, automatically the performance will be much on the drugs support and nothing comes out of the player.

No, there's still part of the support that naturally comes from the player. The use of doping will combine with the player's natural performance, therefore, crossing the limit of the player's capability. As mentioned by the President itself of this event, unlocking the true potential of that player.

Anyhow, looks like they are really determined and eager to push this event. I'm sure organizers will face lots of problems before it can be actually commenced. I wonder also if the event can comply with the required and necessary permits or licenses to operate knowing they will fail on the health-related concerns as the event is a sports competition. They should also follow the country's law on wherever the event will take place.

But to rival the Olympics? Hell no. This is just an ordinary event for me if push.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 17, 2023, 11:37:40 PM
Definitely agree with that. There is no reason in the first place why this fight should happen because aside from the fact that both sides are already a successful businessman, they are also wealthy and famous already. And so it brings us again to the question where we will ask what more they want.

That was just a product of frustration that's why it ended up in that kind of challenge.

I already mentioned before that I don't think the fight will happen for real as both billionaires obviously know what's the best thing to do to settle the score. They will surely fight in the most appropriate way which is filing a lawsuit against each other and that's it.

Aside from that, even how they aggressive they are to push this fight instead, their respective camp will surely always talk about health concerns and that will be a big reason not to push this crazy idea just to settle the problem. There will be no solve case even this fight will push.
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: July 16, 2023, 11:55:25 PM
Consistent winning is not at all possible with gambling. Even the expert who doesn't care about the wagering amount fails, people use different tricks and strategies. These things doesn't work all the time. For this we need to be lucky and even the luckiest to win big jackpot losses. This is how the platforms were developed, if not within short time period these gambling houses would've gone bankrupt.

If we talk about luck-based games, obviously there's no such thing as expecting consistent wins here since everything depends on just luck, that's it. However, if we talk about sports betting, somehow a bettor doesn't need to rely only on luck as there are ways to increase the chances of winning here.

But there's a friend of mine that takes gambling as his main source of income for several years already. Not with playing slots, roulette, etc., or being a sports bettor but he's really damn good at playing billiards. Even way back during our younger days, he is seen as having potential at that sport and is currently, now one of the most skilled and popular billiard players here in our community. He always has a match every day and it involves a big stake. Playing gambling on that sport for many years, he already provided a good life for his family.

However, my friend's success in gambling as his major income is not surely possible for anyone. It's possible to take gambling as a major income but surely, it requires special considerations that would be hard to achieve by most people who are eyeing that goal.
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling effects on LGBTQ+ People on: July 16, 2023, 11:30:10 PM
The more important concern for the LGBTQ+ people is that they are being treated differently in a casino which may come under harassment. Also, the study says that people at the casino, the staff plus the public have shown discriminatory behavior towards these people.

Does the research tell, at least, an accurate source of that data about the harassment of the LGBTQ in a physical casino? I mean, how it can be determined? Only thru surveys? What kind of harassment that these people are experiencing inside a casino?

As far as my main understanding is concerned, maybe the research only focuses on a few locations but the result obviously can't be generalized.

Honestly, as involved in gambling for many years, I never encounter news or related things that members of LGBTQ are being harassed within the casino premises. I believed most casino gamblers only care to win and do not bother with that kind of stuff related to LGBTQ. We can even notice a great social activity between fellow gamblers and staff.

Most casinos staffs also cared for their profession and casinos are strict on the part of how to entertain guests and customers as these staff are carrying the name of the said casino. For sure there are bad or worst casino staff but not to the point that the case of harassment is only focused on LBGTQ.
235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 16, 2023, 11:09:58 PM
Yeah it is on a bigger stage but sadly they are not the main event.

Regardless, even not a main event, what matter is, it's a title fight.

Not that really a big deal that from an expected main event, it will now be part of the undercard of the mega bout between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. Promoters did a great job here to boost the PPV sales after the changes happened on the original undercard list.

Nonito has a great chance to be included again in history if he will win against Santiago.

If he wins against Alejandro Santiago, Nonito Donaire Jr. will top his previous achievement of being the oldest bantamweight champion. He got it at the age of 38 when he defeated Nordine Oubaali in a 4th Round KO win and become the WBC Bantamweight World Champion, his third time being a bantamweight title. Now at age 40 (turning 41 this year in November) another milestone in his career will be achieved; the oldest bantamweight champion at the age of 40 and a 4th-time bantamweight title holder.

Almost the entire advantages are on Donaire. It's now up to Santiago to defy all the odds and take advantage of his young age.
236  Economy / Gambling / Re: Odds providers to crypto books on: July 16, 2023, 10:48:11 PM
What are some cheap providers to become a bookmaker without a license?

Regardless of the purpose, as far as I know (and anyone can correct me with this), being a licensed bookmaker is one of the main requirements for getting Sports Odds Providers service. In other words, the site will be subject first to checking before granting the service.

Out of curiosity, do you plan on building a sports betting site? Even if there's a cheap provider available or maybe close to being free (I believed there are), I doubt you can lure bettors on testing your site. It's obvious that in building a betting site, you will really need to spend decent capital to start with.

If you can't afford to spend on the "priority" things that a sports betting site should have, then it means you are not ready yet.
237  Economy / Gambling / Re: Loophole in stopping Money Laundering through Wagering on: July 16, 2023, 10:28:27 PM
As we know that most gambling sites will require you to gamble and wager your whole balance once, before you can cash out or withdraw from the gambling site and they take this measure so people do not do money laundering whereby deposit and withdraw without gambling.

Correction, it doesn't need to wager the whole balance. Just a percentage of it e.g 20% of the deposit amount or in most cases, ranging from 1x to 2x turnover, etc. But honestly, just come to think of it, why users will just deposit an amount on that gambling site and then later on, will withdraw it without even playing? It's already alarming and will really lead to suspicious activity.

Aside from that, anything about AML policy is one of the requirements that a centralized gambling site should comply with. No choice but to follow.

Now the point here is that on the gambling site, there are many easy winning bets with odds like 1.01x etc. If the money lauder is sensible he can easily be wagering the whole amount by placing a few bets where the odds are very low and the winning chances are 99%.

It's a wrong mindset to think that odds like 1.01x is a sure win. If it does, you should have already seen that as an effective strategy on most sports bettors. Specifically referring to saving the ass on the purpose of doing money laundering, kind of risky for me to just bet on that kind of odds to make the plan succesful.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 15, 2023, 11:02:19 PM
Rest assured, medical team should be ready anytime and definitely have the right equipment to give the participants a first aid or whatever they need because I know that this event will be a bloodshed.

I believed the presence of a medical term is already a protocol at any sport events.

Referring to this particular event in the subject, not because for the sole reason of the doping effects but rather accidents do happened unexpectedly. It's mandatory and standard protocol that medics are always there.

Anyways, if we talk about the effects of these enhancements drugs, the side effects occur mostly or being shown after a long term of usage. It can't be seen during a live event since for sure athletes are being checked if they are capable to play.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This is not Practical on: July 15, 2023, 08:03:39 PM
Hey gamblers my question is to you now is, the money you currently plan to use for gambling is it money that you can afford to lose?

It's not that I afford to lose those money I used in gambling but regardless, be responsible enough to know our limits. Technically, there's no specific amount we can consider as an amount that we afford to lose. We always breach our set limits because temptation to continue is always there either we win because we feel luck and we chase losses during the losing streak.

There's no such thing for me as being practical in gambling because in the first place, how the hell we want being practical to our money but will used it on gambling. It doesn't make sense.

Again, just be responsible enough to know our limits.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 15, 2023, 02:11:47 AM
Although there is indeed a chance for Spence to make a fool of himself by making excuses like an injury.

If I remember before, during the rumored (or supposed?) fight between Spence Jr. and Keith Thurman at 152, the former's camp claimed that their boxer is not that fit anymore or in good shape to fight at 147 and consider it as one of the reason why Spence will moved up weight and won't fight Crawford. Regardless if that's true or not, still props to him for finally accepting the fight with Crawford and now finally settle the deal that takes several years in the process.

I can't say that both boxers are still at their respective peak, like the way they performed during their prime, but referring to being in "good shape", I think Terence Crawford do have much of that characteristic. Not spoiling the fun or being negative but as I previously said before, not until the day of the fight, there's still a chance that this fight might lead into unexpected scenario "knowing how Spence's camp drama and behaves" since then.
