221  Economy / Goods / [WTS] (Small Pieces of) Gold! on: December 16, 2013, 05:36:16 AM
Hey everybody,
I know its not a very wise time to sell gold (with it being so low and bitcoins being so uncertain), but I want to give Bitcoin "Gift Cards" for Christmas. So, here I am. Prices include shipping and the cases you may see. Anyways, I have the following:

1) Mexican 1945 "Dos Pesos" Coin: SPOT - contains .0482 ozt of gold, use the "Ask" price at http://www.kitco.com/market/
2) Andorra "2 Diners" Gold Coin: SPOT - contains 1 gram of 999 gold. Again, use the "Ask" price at
http://www.kitco.com/market/
3) 2 x Ronald W. Reagan PROOF January 20, 1981 (Inaugural) Commemorative Coins 24K Gold: (I found for $39.95+ on eBay)
4) 2 x "Katchy Kards": American Numismatic Convention. Each card contains a 10 grain peace of gold in a holder with information. These are older, collectible cards:
I am always willing to hear offers, so don't be afraid to make me one.

Thanks!

Speaking numismatically your design is very nice. Because of the high relief it would technically be known as a "medal/medallion". The US (but mostly private ones) Mint produces commemorative medals that look much the same. I think its cool to have something that looks so traditional be bitcoin-for a change. The premium is super high though-I imagine primarily to cover your production costs which could not have been cheap. Good luck!

228  Economy / Goods / Re: Are redeemed coins valuable or a waste of an investment? on: December 12, 2013, 07:52:30 PM
If you have any redeemed coins please contact me-I'll give you 1 oz+ per basic coin, more depending on what you have.

I will tell people on here (since its a community) that it probably isn't worth it to buy a redeemed coin as a collector's item. Why? You won't find them for cheap anywhere! I collected redeemed coins starting a long time ago, foreseeing a desire for them from eBay bitcoiners (aka n00bs x 1932423). Sure enough, I've recently sold 3 BLANK, redeemed coins on eBay for over $100/ea. They read about bitcoins in the news and they want to grab their piece of it. Little do they know : /

Please feel free to post your bid below and I'll get in touch with you if it sounds good.

232  Economy / Services / Anyone want their [Casascius] coins graded? on: November 28, 2013, 10:58:27 PM
Hey everybody,
I've posted about this before but will try again. ANACs is the only reputable grading company that will touch Casascius coins. Its rather expensive to have a single coin graded. You get a pretty good price-break if you submit 5 coins (check their site). I have a coin I'd like to send in to get graded. Anybody else interested so we can make it 5-save some money?
233  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB]: One fake 10oz Engelhard silver plated bar, one 1oz fake Engelhard bar on: November 28, 2013, 10:54:44 PM
Nope. Cupronickel alloy with a tiny bit of iridium. And a silver layer.
makes sense. amazing how similar the size [density] was to a real bar, don't you think?

I got em for him, just because he's going to make a movie comparing them to the real thing. Educational.

Yeah, that's the plan. Smiley  Though work/life/travel then snuck up and has swamped me.  Hoping to have time later this week or this weekend to pull them out.  I did get the composition data on them.
Copper with an extremely thin silver coat?
238  Economy / Goods / [WTS] 1896-P Morgan Silver $1: AMAZING END OF COIN-ROLL RAINBOW TONING! on: November 27, 2013, 11:20:35 PM
Hi everybody,
I am offering one of my most prized Morgans for sale. Its an 1896-P. Its true value lies in its incredible toning. My educated guess is that it was the end of a bank roll of Morgans. The reverse is 100% Rainbow toned. Its a different color from every angle-absolutely beautiful. The front is beginning to take on the rainbow toning as well.

People try everything to tone their Morgans-from using chemicals to using heat to storing them for years in old envelopes. The rainbow Morgan is an EXTREMELY sought after one-one look on eBay will show you that. So, even if you're not a collector, this is an awesome coin to have. Considering the popularity of Morgans among collectors, I would consider it about the perfect numismatic coin to own if you're only going to have one.

I'm not looking for anything out of the ballpark on this one-I promise. So, if you are interested please just send me a PM and we can go from there. I am willing to ship internationally.

Thanks!

(the camera on my phone really doesn't even do the tone justice)

240  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Genuine Exlusive Chinese Cultural Revolution Propaganda Prints on: November 23, 2013, 11:32:02 PM
Hey everybody,
I have a few pieces of propaganda art from communist China during its hayday (pun intended). I have three prints that I got from the family member of a Chinese government official who defected to the states. They are prints from the Cultural Revolution circa 1973/74. The person I bought them from didn't have the complete collection (I doubt they would have been selling them individually if they did), but they had an entire ledger full. I found out they were issued to higher-ranking members of the Propaganda Department. The ledger contained a print of all the artwork painted and commissioned to be hung throughout the country during those years. They are 100% authentic and I will lend my full name and expertise to that. I had pictures of the ledger but lost the phone the pictures were on. I want to find someone to take them to to be *officially* (my mentoring professor corroborates it and even bought a couple of prints herself) authenticated. Anyways, these are the three prints I have. Let me know if you are possibly be interested in any of them.
(they are just smaller than 8.5'' x 11''. I can't find a ruler around but I'd say they're about 7'' x 11'', although they're in centimeters)

P.S. If you can understand Chinese it would be awesome if you could tell me what these say. I have some idea but would like a better one. I know the characters in red are the "motto" of that picture. I believe the smaller characters in blue are the name of the artist.
