No, I buy shot and sell .999 bars on eBay in denominations like 5 grams, 1 gram, etc. For some reason people on there love the fractional amounts. And I'm not complaining, I get a better premium on those than 1oz.
1222  Other / Archival / Re: Want to Buy .1 Bitcoins for $11 USD via Verified Paypal Acct [TRUSTED ONLY] on: April 01, 2013, 01:34:27 AM
I can sell 0.1 BTC.
Do I think I have to send first? At what address? My paypal: fsb4000@yandex.ru
Sorry, I was about to type "Closed" on this thread. Decided it was just easier to cash-out my PayPal debit card (which costs $2/transaction, fucking PayPal) and do MoneyGram via BitInstant. So, I got what I needed.

But if you're interested I'd be interested in exchanging PayPal for BTC in the future, I usually have a pretty sizeable PayPal balance from eBay and sales on my site.

But thanks!

Hi,
I'd like to buy just .1 BTC (to fund a bill for a gift). I will pay $11 USD via my Verified PayPal account. I am an established seller on eBay and my trade history on here is solid. Seriously no BS, I just want .1 BTC. I would like to deal only with trusted members. If you have a more established record than me, I will send first. If I have a more established record than you, I would ask that you send first. I will send the $11 as "gift".
1224  Economy / Goods / *RARE COIN* 1853 3 Cent Silver Coin [Illegally Minted] on: March 31, 2013, 11:59:10 PM
Hi,
Up for sale is an 1853 3 Cent Silver coin. The story is, at the time, the US Mint was producing coins with large silver and gold content. A Jewish community who wanted to hold onto the coins, realizing their precious metal value, minted and exchanged their own coins, which were still made of precious metals but were MUCH smaller.

This one is fairly rare, but there are others that go for thousands of dollars. For this one I'm asking (including shipping anywhere in the US-if you are international and wish to purchase, please PM me), which I think you'll agree is a fair price after doing some research.

Buy something new and rarely offered for sale for bitcoins-rare coins. Their value can only increase, as obviously there are no more being produced. In this case this one is made out of silver, so it has precious metal value as well. But another great thing about rare coins is that despite the price of precious metals they will always have numismatic value, and there will always be a collector willing to buy it at an ever-increasing price. This one, with the story behind it and its modest price, is a great one to start any collection.

Thanks!

All I have to say is, since everyone is so confident of their idea, they should put their money where their mouth is. There are a couple of BTC sites that facilitate the process and make it easy as pie.

I take it you've never read a single post of his?

Haha no not at all; lolfest?

1230  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Beef with BFL (Constructive Criticism Only) on: March 29, 2013, 04:25:25 AM
I fear that the BFL "scandal" if you want to call it that has the potential to seriously hurt the bitcoin community-in a similar way (but hopefully smaller-scale) a government sanction against bitcoins would.

But seriously, I think above anything else it shows you just how much people hate central banks and what they do to our countries, it's one of those things where it's so universally hated everyone will immediately hop over to the alternative to prove a point and I think that's what's happening here.
I'm with you there, but I think you might be giving the [ignorant] masses more credit than they deserve :/
1232  Other / Off-topic / What's the Deal? on: March 28, 2013, 10:10:56 AM
Seriously? Why are Bitcoins so high? What fueled their rise recently? What does the [near] future for bitcoins hold?

These are probably all the questions people share now about the state of bitcoins. I like to check out the speculation trend every once in a while just because it entertains me. I find it depressingly hilarious that there are SO many 100% contradicting opinions backed by SO much enthusiasm/confidence.

More often than not, these speculations are based on no/weak facts. People are saying the bitcoin bubble will "pop" any day now. Is this just because they continue to climb, and people just figure they have to drop some time?

And in the long term, can much speculation even be made? Bitcoins are deflationary, so when all of them are in circulation their price can only go up. That is, unless some outside force acts (government action against bitcoins, etc). What do you guys think about this-are bitcoins truly too far to fail now? Should I just hold onto mine for years until all are in circulation? Is it possible a new crypto-currency could overtake Bitcoins either now or before they are all in circulation?

I apologize for the ranting here, but these are things that have been on my mind.

1235  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone got Bitcoins? I wanna go short! on: March 28, 2013, 09:26:09 AM
I have a very strong feeling that Bitcoins is gonna go belly flop, so I wanna short them.

MtGox and those other bitcoin exchanges don't let you go short so I have a proposition for anyone that owns bitcoins. Heres how it works:

I "borrow" the bitcoins from you and sell them on the open market. For this privilege, I pay you a negotiated fee. On some agreed upon date in the future, I buy them back from the exchange and you get back your bitcoins.

Your profit: The money I pay you as a fee for borrowing your bitcoins (this is not dependent on the price of the bitcoins themselves)
My profit: The price difference between selling them initially and the price I can buy them back at (this is extremely dependent on the price of the bitcoins)

If you are unfamiliar with this concept, here is a video:
http://www.investopedia.com/video/play/short-selling/

Ideally, it would be great if you had 100 or more bitcoins.

This is not a scam. We can do all necessary paperwork to make this a legal transaction. If you are in the Bay area, we can meet face to face. I will share my phone number and all other required info.

Let me know if this sounds like something you are interested in and have some bitcoins laying around

Why do you feel this way, exactly?

I've seen posts by "gweedo"-haven't noticed any pattern in them though. Whats his deal? If he's a character (like "Dank") I could see the humor in this too.
1239  Economy / Goods / [WTS/B] Coins of Numismatic Value: US and World on: March 28, 2013, 08:20:22 AM
Hi,
I am a coin collector and have yet to really find someone to trade BTC/Numismatic coins with-everything is just bullion. My collection is primarily old US Silver, but about 30% of it is World Coins. Also, about 30-40% of my coins are graded (PCGS, NGC, or ANACS only!).

In terms of US coins I have dimes, quarters, and all halves of all series (Bust, Seated Liberty, Barber, Walking Liberty, Mercury, Morgan Dollars, more modern, etc). World-coin wise I seem to collect primarily historic coins of communist/fascist nations.

I don't have a list of my collection (its far too large for that), but odds are I'll have either what you're looking for or something similar, and at the very least something cool that you are happy with. Also if there's a coin you really want and i don't have it, odds are I can get it for you via my knowledge of brokers, numismatic forums, etc.

Even if you are not a collector, from a financial point it makes sense to own some numismatic coins. Most are silver, so at the very least they will increase in value with spot price. And if silver spot goes down, your investment is still secured, as you have something of constant value to collectors.

Finally, if you are interested in starting up a small collection, either for personal or financial reasons, I would be happy to point you in the right direction so you get the best investment for your money. Even if you don't plan on buying any coins from me, if you are interested please feel free to message me. I love talking coins.

Hope to hear from you!
1240  Economy / Lending / CANCEL Requesting Small Loan of .35 BTC, to be Paid Back Within 4 days @ .4 BTC on: March 28, 2013, 03:53:28 AM
CANCEL, thanks
Hi everyone,
I am requesting a small loan of 0.35 Bitcoins so that I can pay for something (damn shipping) I want to buy tonight so that I can get it ASAP. I will pay back 0.4 bitcoins possibly as early as tomorrow, as my [non-escrow] auction ends (https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/21333-1886-p-morgan-silver-dollar-slabbed-free-shipping) tomorrow. I just say 4 days in case the winner of the auction doesn't pay right away. I have only received (only asked for) one loan before, for 18 BTC, and paid it back a few days early. Also my trade history is solid. Please PM me if you can help out.
Thanks!
