2201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which casino site is the best on: March 08, 2018, 02:53:07 PM
My favorite is obviously Crypto-Games, most other casinos don't even come close in my opinion.
Just the fact that they accept so many different altcoins and offer instant withdraws is enough reason to play there.

They also have one of the highest value faucets of all bitcoin gambling sites, I've won more than 0.02 BTC through that faucet many times.
2202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RED EVERY WHERE. on: March 08, 2018, 02:32:16 PM
After every drop we see exactly the same topics, if you don`t stand the game why do you play it. Those are just some momentum number which will increase by the end of the year, by the end of the next year, which are increasing every year more and more, feel happy that you are in the mix early and relax.

Yeah, if you've been a part of this community for a couple of years, you'd know that this isn't exactly out of the ordinary for crypto in general.
Usually it's all red in the beginning of the years and it only starts going up again once we approach summer.

Of course it's not guaranteed that that will happen, but we're still seeing a long term up trend.
2203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Men only. Are you daring enough to have a boob job to complete a bet? on: March 08, 2018, 01:29:56 PM
I would definitely not do that to my body for any amount of money.
Think about it, if you're willing to basically scar your body just for a bet, seems just a bit sad to me. Money isn't everything...

Then there's also the risk of having surgery, 100k isn't worth it to risk dying over.
2204  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin stolen from Electrum wallet on: March 08, 2018, 01:07:17 PM
I downloaded from the official website, but I found a malware "remcos" on my computer, and they keylogged everything.

I traced the stolen bitcoins to Binance, unsure what I can do from here.

It doesn't cost you anything to inform Binance and see where it takes you.

Regarding malware, I'm gonna guess you're a Windows user.  Stop that and switch all your crypto activities to Linux.

While I really love Linux, advice like this doesn't accomplish anything, makes you sound really elitist.
You can safely use a hardware wallet and be a Windows user. Even using desktop wallets is fine 99% of the time, if you take some basic security precautions.

Usually wallets get hacked because the user installed malware that he downloaded himself, direct attacks are very unlikely, especially if you don't have a big amount of coins.
If you have a big amount of crypto assets, invest in a hardware wallet.

Another important thing to note is that an unconfigured Linux desktop might be a bit safer than Windows by default, but it's not completely safe either.
An uninformed Linux user can do much more damage to his own system than an uninformed Windows user
2205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Walk of Shame on: March 08, 2018, 12:21:37 PM
You can only hope that the experience was powerful enough to make you reconsider the choices you'll make in the future.
If you've hit rock-bottom so to speak, it can be a great motivator to finally take your addiction seriously.

Not that it makes quitting any easier, it just helps to give you the jump start you need to finally do something about it.
I hope you can really do something about your addiction and that you don't relapse.
2206  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: RANSOMWARE - LOST WALLET.DAT - $5000 bounty on: March 08, 2018, 11:51:01 AM
Hi
No reply from anyone at the attackers email.Just to answer more questions this Bitcoin was my savings. I heard about it , got some , and kept it.

They system they where on got infected by ransomware so I just pulled the wallet and a few other personal things off the system and formatted it.

It is my wallet I have the password. Not sure when it got infected because it was a semi old system that I never switched on much. I only used it for SEO software now and again.

Google has zero information on this problem , I tried searching every keyword I could find on that TOR page. I have got 0.1 BTC and maybe thinking about trying to crowd fund the rest ? I am running out of money fast so the BTC I have I may need to spend for food and fuel.

I see someone called ognasty is very trusted here. I could give him my wallet file and password. Do you think people would send money to him ? we can work out a deal for who gets what amount based on who donates what amount ? Does anyone know ognasty , can we call him into this thread.I am not from this community so if you guys know anyone else who I can trust with 10.5 BTC just let me know. I will trust the crowd.

any help you can offer is amazing and I thank you all so much.I am no Bitcoin expert , maybe not even a novice.

PS. There is some other accounts in the wallet.dat with bitcoin. Not sure how much but its more than 10.5 you see in the one wallet.

I'm really not buying it, I agree with what DannyHamilton said and I think it's option 2. I would really advise against giving this guy any money.
OP, if you are somehow telling the truth, you shouldn't be trying to beg for money on this forum.

For all we know, you could be the one in control of that ransomware deposit address. I'm sorry if you are being honest OP, but even then you should pay for this yourself.
2207  Economy / Economics / Re: About Technical Analysis. on: March 08, 2018, 11:27:43 AM
All Warren Buffett's knowledge and skills relate only to the use of Fiat. He has great political connections and resources. He can have information before others and it helps him to earn millions. With cryptocurrencies, everything is much more complicated. Therefore, his opinion and various technical analyses have no prospects. It doesn't mean anything to me.

Why do you say that everything is more complicated with cryptocurrencies? I can kind of agree with that in the sense that it's often more difficult to predict value of specific crypto over the long term, compared to predicting the value of a stock for example. But we also see much of the same practices in both crypto and traditional trading.

Crypto is definitely way more accessible than the stock market for example and I doubt that the trading itself is more complicated.
2208  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ❗ Attention Binance users ❗ on: March 08, 2018, 11:18:16 AM
I must say that Binance has really handled this in an excellent way. I also hope this serves as a reminder to always check the address of the website you're on before logging in.
Can't believe that so many people still get hacked through phishing. Also, keep 2FA on at all times.

I really hope that this news gets picked up by some of the bigger Bitcoin news websites.
2209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best wishes Crypto Women! on: March 08, 2018, 10:35:09 AM
I have a couple of female friends that are really getting into Bitcoin and crypto in general.
More people joining the community is always something positive and I'd be very happy if crypto became a lot more popular among women.

I would also hope that most of the community is friendly enough to make it a welcoming place for everyone, regardless of gender.
2210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vote for the most promising altcoins of 2018 on: March 06, 2018, 12:48:21 PM
I would definitely say Steemit, but I have to admit that I'm biased since I'm blogging there.
Steemit currently has the highest amount of daily transactions and they have no scaling issues at all.

Their service is in constant development and +10k users are joining every day.
Once SMT's are implemented, I can really see it grow even further.
2211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pinnacle is accepting Bitcoins on: March 06, 2018, 12:37:15 PM
Great news and I reckon we will be seeing more news like this in the future.
The market for Bitcoin gambling is just too big for traditional casinos not to take notice of it and also start enabling Bitcoin deposits.

The things is though, I'm not sure if traditional casinos can actually convince crypto gamblers to come play at their casinos.
We're pretty much used to the service we get at our regular crypto-exclusive casinos, which is a lot better in most cases. (Instant withdraws etc.)
2212  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-05] BTC Transaction Volume Reaches Two-Year Low on: March 05, 2018, 02:50:37 PM
Up until very recently, Coinbase didn't even batch transactions if I recall correctly.
Coinbase still doesn't batch transactions when it comes to external withdrawals. I am not sure if they batch transactions when it comes to their internal structure, but I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did happen to do so.

The point is that the media sources need juicy articles and subjects, especially in times where there isn't any negativity to report about. It's them stating the very obvious, just so that they technically are right.

People should pay attention to the massive spam attack we experienced last year, which was one of the main reasons the fees literally exploded. Spam attack + hype + a lot new users coming in = temporary 'usage' peak.

If I look at the current fees, it almost feels like I'm robbing someone without actually robbing that person, lol.

Huh, Today I learned... I would have thought that they had started doing batch transactions by now, since they made the announcement a couple of months ago.
Further research indeed shows that they still aren't doing batch transactions.

You're right that the media often sensationalizes news like this, just to create drama where there isn't any...
2213  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-05] BTC Transaction Volume Reaches Two-Year Low on: March 05, 2018, 01:31:26 PM
I've read another article that states that the lower transaction volume might be due to more transactions being batched.
Up until very recently, Coinbase didn't even batch transactions if I recall correctly.

It's pretty logical that transaction volume decreases when many transactions are just combined into a single one.

Anyway, here's my source: https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/03/04/bitcoin-transaction-volume-decreases-batching-not-due-lack-demand/
2214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and XMR on: March 05, 2018, 12:10:54 PM
You haven't even listed the most active coins, XMR isn't even on top of that list.
Steem is actually the most active blockchain with the highest amount of transactions each day.

Source: https://blocktivity.info/

Is there any cryptocurrencies other than BTC and XMR that people are actually using?

Sure. The most popular currency for actual use is Ethereum. They had 704,590 transactions in the last 24 hours. Bitcoin only had 169,048 transactions.

Bitcoin is going backwards in terms of adoption and use, but Ethereum is going from strength to strength.

Where's your source that it's the most popular in terms of actual use?
2215  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ Crypto-Games.net ★ 10 coins ★ Since 2014 ★ 7 games ★ 103 ETH Jackpot ★ on: March 05, 2018, 08:57:11 AM
All users have new segwit deposit addresses. Withdrawals to bech32 addresses are also possible Wink
That's super good news, I didn't even notice when I deposited the last time.
I think it's time for me to use Segwit addresses exclusively, might want to change my signature campaign payout address now that you're using segwit deposit addresses.

I'll send you or Lutpin(?) a pm when I get a new segwit address created and backed up.
2216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India taking measures to control crypto on: March 05, 2018, 08:50:02 AM
As long as you don't know what kinds of measures will be taken, you can't really be sure if it's good for crypto or not.
Regulations can also be a good thing in some cases, some people just need a good legal framework to be able to use and invest in crypto.

Just look at what happened in Japan when their government regulated crypto, usage went way up.
While in China it had more of a negative effect, I think

It all depends on the measures in question.
2217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Make Your Own Custom Excel Coin Tracker using Coinmarket Cap APIs on: March 02, 2018, 02:40:14 PM
Dang, that really something nifty you created there, I'm impressed.
Now I can check coin prices in stealth when I'm working in Excel, pretty handy actually.

Thanks for going through the trouble of figuring this out!
2218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Revival of Bitcoins and alts and your strategy. on: March 02, 2018, 01:12:23 PM
Dude moved 430 million $ with a 1$ fee
https://blockchain.info/tx/92785a57f6e9e9eb9d37a00e6e8be7f888376f65fa2b8f868db261cbf6cca7b0

And you're complaining about high fees  Huh

I reckon he could have even spent less, 5 sats per byte usually gets through the next block as well.
Good to see that more and more people are using Segwit, it really saves you a lot in transaction fees and more services are starting to support it.

Let's hope it stays this way as the transaction volume increases again.
2219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges are starting to reduce their bitcoin withdrawal fees at last on: March 02, 2018, 12:32:42 PM
It's about time, but I still think Kraken can do a bit better than that. I would really like to gather all my dust from exchanges, once they start charging the actual fees.
Exchanges should only make profit on trades, not on deposits or withdrawals, but that's just my opinion.

I'd probably have around 0.02 BTC if I could withdraw everything from Kraken, Hitbtc, Bittrex etc.
2220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is anyone active on Steemit? on: March 02, 2018, 12:13:22 PM
I've been pretty active on Steemit myself and I was wondering if there were other members of Bitcointalk on Steemit.
If you want we could post our accounts in this thread and check out each others posts.

I'm pretty happy with my earnings already, but growing a large following is pretty slow.

Be sure to also share your experiences there.

https://steemit.com/@daan

I once wanted to create an account on steem.it and share content there
I mean first to build an account that provides information to gain popularity,
but i failed. even the content I share does not quite entertain me
share your experience in writing content on steem.it
so I can be a talented writer like Arthur Conan Doyle

Well for starters, it helps when you practice your English a lot before you start writing there.
If your articles aren't well written, you'll probably never earn something with it. There are many free online courses to improve your English skills.

I'm personally very happy with how much I'm growing there, great experience overall...
