1221  Economy / Gambling / Re: 💰💰💰💰BITCOIN Lottery Ticketing💰💰💰💰 on: November 15, 2018, 11:57:52 AM
Don't fall for this, the list of winners is clearly fake.
As if someone actually won a jackpot of 5611 BTC, I mean the website looks like it's someone's first web development project.

Show us a wallet that you own that has over 100 BTC in it.

The website mentions that it's owned by Multi Pay N.V.
So, you also own Multilotto then? (https://www.multilotto.com/en/casino/?ml=ASKG)
1222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've made this portrait of Hal Finney made of USD ripped bills on: November 15, 2018, 10:55:56 AM

a few people i know seen the hal finney you made and said. 'what does pierce brosnon'(previous james bond)'have to do with bitcoin'.

Oh god damn it, now I can't un-see it. Indeed, this would make a very good Pierce Brosnan portrait.

Just for reference:

and

Was about to report you but you might actually be the real artist lol.

Why would you do that? He added his sources, so you wouldn't have to report him, even if he wasn't the original artist.
1223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If an ICO team is anonymous, is it a scam? on: November 14, 2018, 05:07:08 PM
For an ICO without any working product, yeah I wouldn't trust that at all.
Now to be honest, even if they weren't anonymous and didn't have a working product, I probably wouldn't trust it either.

Sure, Satoshi made Bitcoin anonymous, but he wasn't asking for funding and he was putting out code.

I don't understand why you would invest into something that's basically just a promise to build something in the future.
If they have nothing to show for it, I'm out by default.
1224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best gambling website to invest into? on: November 14, 2018, 03:41:50 PM
I know Crypto-Games has already been mentioned, but I just want to add that that's generally a very safe option for investing.
Their payout limits on the games they offer are not too high, so that removes a great deal of the risk of high losses for investors.

It might also cause you to profit a little bit slower, but definitely safer.

1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here since 2013/2014? on: November 14, 2018, 03:29:55 PM
I definitely own less than I did before, but I've also diversified my investments over many different altcoins.
Just from spending Bitcoins pretty regularly and cashing out into fiat. I do try to use Bitcoin as a payment method, like every time I order food through Takeaway.com for example.

I also have no regrets, I sold a bunch when Bitcoin was at an ATH, so I've definitely made my "profit" already.
1226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you most interested in learning about? on: November 13, 2018, 03:57:13 PM
Haven't actually voted, since there's not anything on that list that I'm interested in.
Ideally, I'd like to get more into the technical aspects of certain blockchains, to be able to build dApps eventually.

I just don't think programming is for me though, last week I was struggling immensely to do some simple SQL queries Tongue
The extent of my programming knowledge is writing simple Bash scripts for automating certain functions on my Linux machine.
1227  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: HODLER Wallet - The Only Open Source Multi-Asset Wallet on: November 12, 2018, 04:25:58 PM
Just upvoted and resteemed your post on Steemit.
If you want, I'd be willing to write an article about Hodler wallet. I have around 700 (real) followers on Steemit, so that will give you some more exposure.

Any idea when you'll add the ability to lock funds? I think that would be great to mention in the article.
Ballpark ETA will do Wink

My Steemit blog: https://steemit.com/@daan

Can also help you with a free Steem Power delegation if you ever need it.

Also, it might be worth joining Utopian-io with your project, so you can get paid for your own contributions.
Check: https://join.utopian.io/ & https://steemit.com/@utopian-io

It's a project on Steemit that rewards open-source contributions, you get around $20 - $80 per contribution made, depending on the quality/difficulty
1228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you earn a cryptocurrency now? on: November 12, 2018, 01:05:36 PM
Really? You're saying that MLM and bounties are the best ways to turn a profit with cryptocurrency?
Complete and utter bullshit IMO.

There are way more people who are just earning pennies with bounties, than there are people who actually make a decent amount of money with it.
If you want to earn crypto, maybe work for it by providing a service. That's the easiest way to actually earn some decent money.

A year ago, I dived into Steemit, writing articles every day and I was earning pennies too back then.
Slowly but surely, I got more into the community aspect and started to gain a following there, finally making more than pennies per post.

Nowadays, I can post just about whatever I want on there and I'll get around $5.00 for it. I've been doing that for a year, so do the math...
Then add some paid articles, earnings from curation rewards and Steem Monsters card sales, which makes it around 30 dollars worth of Steem earned daily.

Just saying that there are far better ways to earn money than MLM and bounties.
1229  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ Crypto-Games.net ★ 4 Years Old ★ 58.000$ wagering contest ★ on: November 12, 2018, 12:55:48 PM
Playing in CG for almost 1 year and made good profot with it. Also They have some Nice chat Mods Cheesy

How much profit are you at overall? It's definitely one of the best crypto casinos, but I'm currently at a loss Tongue
Slowly turning a profit with Litecoin though, but I have a very long way to go Smiley Still at -79 LTC
1230  Other / Meta / Re: My thoughts on why threads that are spam-flooded should be deleted on sight on: November 10, 2018, 01:40:00 PM
Oh what I would give to be able to clean up the entire Altcoin Discussion board...

It's not even worth it anymore to spend more than 5 minutes on writing a thread there, since most people just reply to the threads that have 1 measly sentence in it.

I've mostly given up on creating new threads in Altcoin Discussion, I usually post them to Altcoin Service Discussion instead. (that category usually applies as well)
Way less visibility of course, but the replies you're getting are generally better quality.

Bitcoin Discussion on the other hand has gotten better I've noticed. Sure, spam still gets posted there, but it's usually removed pretty quickly.

I do generally agree with your post, but if you report those kinds of posts, they usually get deleted.
Maybe just the Altcoin section in specific is dealing with a lack of moderators.

Or there's just so much crap, that people feel a bit overwhelmed to report it?
1231  Other / Meta / Re: Encouraging users to lock threads on: November 10, 2018, 01:27:20 PM
There's a much easier solution for all of this, one that can be applied today even.

Just report the thread in question for being a spam-megathread, I've done so in the past for a few threads and I'm pretty sure that they were locked or just removed.
Just look at the last couple of pages and see if they mostly contain spam replies. It's usually the case with those threads.
1232  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Social Journalism - CoinScribble on: November 09, 2018, 08:51:35 PM
Great job! I hope my article helped a little bit with that at least.
I've gotta say that I've been visiting your website practically every day now, so you must be doing something right Wink
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is better in poker: bluffing or playing only with good cards? on: November 09, 2018, 05:42:41 PM
Along with playing with normal cards, players have to bluff sometimes, and they must be good at it. This is because a player cannot get good hands every single time, or even sometimes it takes quite long to get a suitable hand. Gamblers have to bluff in the game of poker and rest is on his/her luck. Often I have seen real games where attitudes worked like a magic and the player bluffed like a king.
If you are a good bluffer you will have good cards all the time. So it is not a problem that you have good cards or not but keep in mind that bluffing is important in poker games. If you don’t have any bluffing experience, you should not play poker games. You can try your luck in some other game. There are many games for gambling. I mostly bet on sports game.

That's just not true, there are many people who play tight-aggressive and still get +EV.
You don't need to be a good bluffer to pull off a strategy like that, especially when you're playing online poker.

I would say it's not a good idea to bluff too much, especially when you're just a beginner.
When you're more experienced, you might want to play loose-aggressive though.
1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters are not beggars on: November 09, 2018, 05:27:51 PM
I wouldn't call it begging, but some bounty hunters do operate under some very questionable ethics.
How much spam is being generated by people just looking to get a dollar worth in tokens?

This place has seen the effects of these bounty spam campaigns first hand.

Yeah, bounty hunters might not be beggars, but the majority of them certainly ar spammers.
1235  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bounty/ Airdop so Low you cant trade it, Gas is even more expensive on: November 09, 2018, 04:30:04 PM
Why do you even participate if they're giving away something that isn't even worth anything?
I mean, you know beforehand that you're receiving X amount of tokens, right?

So you should've seen it coming that you are basically receiving nothing from the bounty campaign.

These ICOs are doing it because they don't care about their promotors. They just want the quick and easy money.
Of course they're going to accept as many people as possible...
1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: HOW BLOCKCHAIN WILL DISRUPT GAMBLING? on: November 09, 2018, 03:53:32 PM
Blockchain give so much conveniece in life so in gambling i think this will spread more we know that there's a lot of people who want to play even not here so if they have knowledge about crypto gambling like casino and more of course they will use this too another thing crypto run with a lot of risky things so this is like gambling
I would say convenience as well as anonymity is one of the two major areas that blockchain is already disrupting gambling. Usually, with the way things have always been in the past, there is always a strict regulation with gambling in some places and since you will have to always make some sort of transactions with the bank, you can always be traced with your transactions with anything that has to do with gambling.

Moreover with blockchain, a lot of that has really changed, and even now it has been able to give a lot of people the chance, both young and old, to be a part of the gambling system without being traced. Not sure if that is going to be a huge problem in the long run or if it isn't already.

Not only that, I'd say that gambling has also become a lot more fair, just because most cryptocurrency gambling websites offer provably fair results.
I had never even heard of the concept before, when I still played on regular gambling sites.

They also list the house edge, but you could never be 100% sure that they weren't cheating you.
1237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Hunters should analyze a bounty campaign to maximize rewards on: November 09, 2018, 02:21:42 PM
I'd have to agree with you that writing articles is probably the best way of earning decent bounties.
In the meantime you also grow your social media following, just be sharing your most interesting articles on there, which will also pay off in future bounty campaigns.

I've also spent quite a lot of time growing my following on Steemit and do paid publications sometimes.
I never work exclusively for tokens, always charging payment in Steem or Bitcoin upfront.

Good luck with your future campaigns!

1238  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam website. on: November 09, 2018, 02:03:57 PM
I don't know if you would actually have a case against them. You've basically just broken their own TOS.
Which laws have they broken exactly? I'm a little bit confused about that part.

Anyway, I don't think anyone in this forum knows enough about this particular legal subject to be of help to you.
You should talk to a lawyer and get their opinion, though I don't think you even have a case here.
1239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Isn't SEC Demonstrating it Hates Anything Decentralized? on: November 09, 2018, 01:56:32 PM
Quote
According to SEC, Coburn consented to pay USD 300,000 in disgorgement, USD 13,000 in prejudgment interest, and also a penalty of USD 75,000, “without conceding or denying the discoveries.”

what the hell?!!!
I am not really familiar with EtherDelta, I have only heard of it and read a quick description but if it is truly a decentralized exchange then why is the developer paying SEC money? that doesn't make any sense!

Yeah that also struck me as very odd that they just paid a fine to get out of it.
Don't know if it is technically a fine, sounds more like a bribe to me honestly.

Wouldn't this set a very bad precedent for other decentralized exchanges though? We know that the US isn't afraid to go abroad to bring individuals to justice, I wonder if DEX founders in general are safe from this.
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTOGLYPHS – A new way of imagining The Bitcoin Blockchain on: November 09, 2018, 01:09:40 PM
WOW! I really like the idea of this and it's clear that you've put a lot of work into making this piece of art.
With the description, it's quite interesting to see which existing Egyptian hieroglyphs you've used and adapted for this drawing.

I'd give you a bunch of merit, if I wasn't out already. Next month perhaps when it replenishes again.
