So am curious to know if everyone is still holding or have chicken out and sold theirs.
Note ::get your coins off any exhange platforms if you are still on the hodl game
Is 2022 really a year of hell? Is 2022 year where people are panic selling? Is 2022 a year where people didn't do anything at all including to accumulate?

For me, 2022 is a whole year of sale. I mean it's like when we are doing some online shopping, we often see some items that are discounted right? It's how I see cryptocurrency last year as well. It's like I'm doing an online shopping of different assets like crypto and stock market.

I'm still holding and accumulated some Bitcoin and Ethereum all throughout the year 2022. Who will not get attracted when you see a crypto down 60-70% or even 80%? If you believe that the coin you bought will rise when the bull market comes then buy it, but research first still.

2022 is a bloody year for investors, but only for those who bought at the peak or near the peak and as for those who have spare cash and believed that crypto's prices will rise a few years from now, I'm pretty sure they bought some Bitcoin and altcoins.
2222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption growing stronger everyday on: February 03, 2023, 02:24:48 AM
Adoption is growing slowly but surely. Many people are starting to accept the fact that cryptocurrency is part of our financial system already. There are some people who are starting to accept Bitcoin and at the same time, there are people who are starting to use Bitcoin to pay for their goods or whatever it is.

Bitcoin adoption still has a long way to, but I'm sure that there will be a time that a huge percentage of all the people worldwide will accept Bitcoin as an alternative mode of payment. There are already websites who are accepting Bitcoin and more of them will accept not only Bitcoin, but maybe other coins as well.

On the other hand, there are some who doesn't want to accept Bitcoin especially some establishments because of how volatile it is.
2223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 03, 2023, 01:43:31 AM
The All-Star Reserves for 2022-2023 NBA All-Star has been released. These are the reserves from both East and West.

Eastern Conference
  • Joel Embiid
  • Bam Adebayo
  • Jaylen Brown
  • Julius Randle
  • Jrue Holiday
  • Demar Derozan
  • Tyrese Haliburton

Western Conference
  • Ja Morant
  • Lauri Markannen
  • Domantas Sabonis
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
  • Paul George
  • Jaren Jackson Jr.
  • Damian Lillard

New names in the All-Star game like Haliburton, Markannen, Sabonis, SGA and JJJ. TBH, there are many snubs with this one. Brunson? Edwards? Fox? Where are they? I mean they're better than most of the reserves out there numbers-wise right?
2224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum’s Shanghai upgrade is set for March 2023! Is this HODL or DUMP? on: February 02, 2023, 04:37:11 PM
I guess the quote "Buy the rumor, sell the news" is still applicable in crypto right?

In this case, it isn't a rumor, but it's official that Shanghai update will be implemented in the 3rd month of the year. When they released this update, the price of Ethereum pumped already (I just don't know when the news released). Now when this is implemented, there is a high chance that some will apply the "sell the news" quote therefore, they will sell it immediately.

On the other hand, there is also a chance that the implementation of the update might not affect the price negatively, but looking at the update where those who staked their Ethereum can un-stake them, there is a chance that they will sell the Ethereum that they've bought earlier at a profit. As for me, I'm a long term investor so any dumps for Ethereum is an opportunity for me so I want Ethereum to dump as Shanghai will be implemented. Smiley

Most newcomers ‘play’ with crypto with the aim of getting rich quick, not interested in the financial revolution, let alone blockchain technology.

is it really like that in reality? is it normally like that? and I'd really like your opinion.
How cryptocurrency is moving really affects the mindset of every investor right?
What if Stocks in the Stock Market are moving the same as crypto, will they just prefer investing into stocks compare to crypto because it's safer and it can make an investor rich in a quick way.

This is what volatility can do to ones mind. Because of the volatility of cryptocurrencies, people always think that if they will buy now and just wait, there is a high chance that they will earn money faster because it's volatile. It price move faster than other assets thus, they will get rich faster.

Bitcoin and other coins are being treated as an asset by most of the investors and that's the fact and that's a problem because they don't care about the technology behind it as long as they will earn money. As a matter of fact, that "Get rich quick" mindset will just make the beginner investor lose money more than what they can earn because they have a higher chance of getting scammed. As for the OP's question, at least don't stereotype all of the beginners because there are still some beginners who has a different goal when they invest into cryptocurrency.
2226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 02, 2023, 06:54:06 AM
2 games will be played today.

The first game is a battle of 2 teams who are still win-less right now. Phoenix Vs. NorthPort. It's hard to pick which team will win on this one because both of them are still winless. I'll put my bet on NorthPort on this one just because it's attractive and I believe  Munzon and Tolentino will step up aside from their import.

On the second game, it's the battle of a team which is winless and a team which doesn't have any loss currently. Converge Vs. Rain or Shine. ML odds isn't attractive at all so maybe a +7.5 spread on Converge (base on Stake) is more attractive. I believe that they will cover that one knowing how they are playing right now.

2227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 02, 2023, 06:39:18 AM
Friends, I might disappoint you by saying that Bivol vs Beterbiev fight is not going to happen in nearest future. The reason is simple - Dmitri Bivol is representing Russia. In November 2022, Mauricio Sulaiman, world boxing council, has removed Russian and Belorussian boxer from ranking and dont allow them to participate. So either the war ends before their potential fight (not likely), or he will make an exception for Bivol (also not likely), or Bivol would have to change his passport. Probably both will have one more fight before they might possibly meet.
I don't think all those options will happen. Damn war and politics affecting our beloved sports. Thanks for clearing that out though, it seems like we forgot there's a war happening out there.
Also according here, he has not approached WBC yet for an exemption.
Quote
“Bivol has not approached the WBC (to ask for an exemption)," Sulaiman told reporters and Izquierdazo. “At our last Convention, we were very clear about our position in relation to fighters from Russia and Belarus. And that is the case with Bivol."
Well, I guess we have no choice but to wait for that war to end.

We almost forgot it since it's been a year since these 2 countries are still bombarding with each other. Many Ukrainians are affected, heritages being destroyed and at the same time, sports has been affected on these 2 countries and that includes the boxers from Russia and Belarus which is a bit unfortunate if you are a boxing fan. I just hope that this war will end soon or maybe this year, and I also hope that this war between between 2 countries will not escalate anymore to the point that other countries will join the war.

I guess the best option for Bivol with the 3 options that he shares is to change his passport. I don't expect the WBC to make an exception for him just for the sake of money. Very disappointing, but understandable and it's beyond his control anymore.
2228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 02, 2023, 06:20:01 AM
I can't believe the Warriors lost against the Timberwolves, they are getting sloppy with their plays. I know it's the right ones but it doesn't click well especially when Draymond expects their cuts and he just throws the ball out of nowhere where the cutter should be. It's been happening a lot of times, Steve Kerr should start strengthening at those parts, I bet they all see this in the tape and regrets their mistakes. A mountain of turnovers again.
7-19 record on the road the their chemistry. That might be the reasons why they lost on the road.
With what you said regarding Draymond, I think it's their chemistry is the reason why it's happening a lot of times. We've known Draymond as a passer and if you are a teammate of him for a long time, you know that he will make passes like that. Just look at Steph and Klay. They know what they are doing if Draymond is holding the ball. They must strengthen their chemistry now that they have many newcomers in their team.

Ya, Boston is having their way with the Nets on ESPN right now. It shows you that when it comes to the teams they would face in the playoffs they need to ride Durant. Without KD I don’t think they’re a very good team.
4-0 sweep again in the playoffs? Cheesy

It surprised me that the Nets lost to the Celtics by almost 40 points. 46-16 first quarter? I mean WTF? Cheesy It's unacceptable for a top-seeded team like the Nets to score only 16 points in one quarter while their opponent scored 46. I agree with what you said as well that without Durant, they aren't that good team. Yes they are better compare to last season when Durant is out, but still him not playing is a big problem for the team. They are getting wins yes, but they have more losses than wins. Well, he is out for their next 2 games against Wizards and the Clippers, but he's expected to come back on the 8th of February against the Suns.
2229  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto YouTubers are all financial advisors on: February 02, 2023, 05:52:08 AM
If someone is not a financial advisor and still go live on Youtube or Twitch to talk about how they make money investing in a project or two what does that make them?
A mere Youtuber that's all.
Can you call yourself a financial advisor already if you are just sharing things about investing money or investing a project? These Youtubers aren't financial experts at all.

Dunning-Kruger effect. If you don't know the definition of this one. Here it is:
Quote
Dunning-Kruger effect, in psychology, a cognitive bias whereby people with limited knowledge or competence in a given intellectual or social domain greatly overestimate their own knowledge or competence in that domain relative to objective criteria or to the performance of their peers or of people in general.
In short, they don't know that they are overestimating what they know about investing that they are just sharing anything on Youtube, but the reality is they only know a little about it. Don't trust these Youtubers or Financial Gurus on Youtube who aren't experts.

Aren't they supposed to keep their financial advice to themselves if they don't want to be a financial advisor? Yeah, I think the perfect way to stay away from been a financial advisor is to keep your ideas to yourself, don't say a word about it.

Oh, I almost forget, it pays to be a YouTuber, you need a niche to talk about per se, and it's very easy to talk about a project even if they are going to ruin your life, the secret behind this people is you, the only ways crypto YouTuber makes money is shilling their crypto bags and waiting for new buyers, it's two ways to make money for them, YOUTUBE and CRYPTO BAG..
You've said it already.

Money is the main reason why they are doing it. There are some Youtubers who are sharing their information because they want to earn more money aside from the investment that they have. With regards to what you said that crypto Youtubers only earn money from shilling, they will also earn from ad-revenues from Youtube. How? They will create a clickbait-y title, a clickbait-y thumbnail for the viewers to click their video and that's where they earn from ad-revenues. They will also earn from shilling of course because there are still some investors who will follow what their favorite Crypto Youtube influencers are saying. As for me, f*ck them all. I'm not following what they are saying or what they are recommending.
2230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 01, 2023, 01:41:47 PM
Hard for me to believe that Lakers won in OT last night. Without LeBron and AD , lakers are really a total different team that can't even fight for playoffs but with them in the court , everything changes for Lakers.

Also , with this W from last night , their chances to catch playoffs are once again in their hands but still , if AD or Lebron will miss some games due to injuries , I'm afraid Lakers dream of catching playoffs will be crushed.

They need this win, actually they are leading in the last couple of minutes. But the Knicks were able to make a comeback but unfortunately, Randle didn't became a hero, missed that shot completely and then Lebron working on the OT and not let this game slip away from him.
Even the commentators are a bit surprised because Randle took the final shot and didn't take any shot at all which is kind of embarrassing if you are a Knick fan. I mean Brunson can be a better pick than Randle on that game because Randle shot very awful on that game. 6/19 from the field and Coach Thib picked him as the one who will take the final shot?

This is why I'm always thinking, why did the Knicks gave this player a huge contract where in fact, he is only good the season before they gave them a huge contract. He might be averaging at 20's and 10's, but his shooting selection is one of the worst (at least for me). He hold the ball, he will shoot it even though he is having a bad night.

As for the Lakers, they really needed it after what happened to them against the Celtics. Unfortunately, they are still at the bottom spot of the standings (currently at 13th) though they are just 2 games behind the 8th seed Timberwolves. Many are waiting for Lebron to surpass Kareem's scoring record that he held for more than 3 decades. I'm pretty sure it's not only the Laker fans or Lebron fans are waiting for this significant achievement to happen. All NBA fans around the world are waiting for this.

2- TNT 1.52 Road Warriors 2.36
If anybody aside from me took the risk and put the bet on the Road Warriors then congratulations to all of us. Smiley They won by only 2 points against the TNT katropa 110-108

Jonathan Simmons is an explosive import but Hudson got more support from the locals so i think NLEX will be having a hard time winning this game, as of this writing TNT is up 11 points but still a lot of time remaining, 16 minutes to play to be exact and i'm taking now NLEX +9.5 @1.76. Hope Simmons will continue to explode in the fourth and make this a close one.

Congratulations, that 4th quarter big run give you a win, not only that they cover that +9.5  but they win the game. they only need one quarter to beat the TNT because TNT has been dominating the 1st 3 quarters, nice game it was a very close one but the import of TNT has become predictable in the 4th quarter.
TNT is leading in the 42 minutes of the whole game and NLEX only lead by 6 minutes. Going into halftime, the TNT lead by only 7 points, but Simmons scored the first 14 points of the Road Warriors and carried his team until the end. He ended up with 45 points and 12 rebounds. Well, as expected for an ex-NBA player that played a huge role when he is in the Spurs.

It's a very close match that the game has a chance to went into overtime if only Pogoy hit that close range shot. Anyway, NLEX won that match already and the final game for Simmons will be on the 4th of February against the Phoenix which is currently winless still. In addition to that, the Road Warriors find another import replacement for Simmons already and that is Wayne Selden Jr . Another ex-NBA player again. NLEX really has some money to hire those ex-NBA imports don't they? Cheesy
2232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 01, 2023, 08:10:21 AM

I also bet for the Knicks on this one.

The Knicks are playing better on the road than on their home, but the Lakers are not playing that good when they are on the road because they are only 10-16 while the Knicks are 12-13 on their home. 1.78 Odds for the Knicks and hope they will win Smiley.

Sad to say the Lakers win, it was a close game and the Lakers are just getting good when you pressured them, and they just bounce back from the Sabotage they got from the Celtics lost,
I watched the whole game and what I will say is that:
Randle Sucks.

6/19 shooting, 2/9 from threes and a lousy defender. If he is holding the ball, expect that he will shoot wherever he is and he doesn't even care even he is shooting badly or not as long as he will shoot and shoot and shoot. That's the reason they lost in that game. It's good that Brunson did something for the team including that assists and that charge against Davis and that's the reason why it went to overtime though they lost.

I just don't know why the Knicks gave him a large contract where in fact, he's that awful both in offense and defense. Yes he got a double-double tonight, but his shooting is just awful. Trade him and just make a team around Brunson and Barrett. I'm not disappointed because I lost my bet, but I'm disappointed because of him. Cheesy
2233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you stacking up on? on: February 01, 2023, 07:46:54 AM
As we will most likely continue to see bear market for this year, what are you stacking up on and why? I would love to know so I can see what people are interested and there reasoning for it.

Smiley.
This year, I'm going to stack only 2 coins when it comes to crypto. Bitcoin and Ethereum only.
Why? It's because I just want to diversify and when I mean diversify, it means buying different types of assets and not only buying only one asset like crypto.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are the ones that I picked because, why not? I mean I know that there are some investors out there who opt to buy other altcoins because they're more volatile when the bull run comes, but I'm more of a conservative investor even though I'm at my mid-20's only. There's a saying that if you are younger, you have many chances to risk it all because you can still have time to cope up if ever you lose your money. I don't think that way. I only think that holding long term is the best way. Aside from crypto, I'm also buying different dividend stocks that I will hold for the long term. Passive income. Smiley

All of us have different strategies when it comes to investing, but we all have one goal and that is to profit from our investments.
2234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your take on this crypto gambling use case idea? on: February 01, 2023, 07:22:24 AM
Do you think it makes sense if a crypto gambling platform only accepts it's own token for gambling and gambling on it's platform? If the games they offer are one-of-a-kind, new, and addictive wouldn't this make the gambling token very valuable? I am asking on behalf of a friend who wants to build his own crypto gambling project on the blockchain. Will this work? Will this fail? What's your take on this?
It will depend on how successful the gambling platform/site will be.
If the owners have a good marketing team, and it really has addictive games then there is a chance that the native token of the site will be valuable.

The problem that I'm seeing with this one is how liquid the gambling token it will be. How will the gamblers convert it into other cryptocurrency they wanted to. Will the gambling token be accepted on many exchanges? What if that token will be a victim of a pump and dump scheme? That might affect the whole winnings of the gambler because if you are holding an X number of that gambling tokens worth $500 and then suddenly, it became $400 because of pump and dump then the gambler already lost money just by it's volatility alone.

After all, I don't see any popular online gambling sites right now that has their own native token. I'm not saying that it will be bad, but having a native token doesn't increase the chances of the website becoming successful.

Cheesy

A bad day, I'm not addicted as you think. I just spend in $1 and $2, but at some point I missed my control. As you've said I should realise and should understand what needs to be prioritised. A big learning and the same won't happen again, and I've managed the financial difficulty.

Thanks for each and everyone who took time and felt bad for my act of gambling at the wrong time. Even users who go through it too can have it in mind while gambling.
My apologies again for me getting too harsh about your decision. I might spoke bad at my post, but I just can't imagine you did it.
Well, what's done is done. The best thing you can do is to just adjust onto it, think twice or even thrice before deciding and learn from your mistake.

I just hope that you will not do this again because I believe that you aren't addicted. It's just, your loneliness ate you and you find a way to make yourself happy and the first thing that came into your mind is gambling which is a bad sign at least for me.

Learning really is expensive isn't it? Cheesy At least you learn from this one and that's more important. Good thing that you've managed to come up with a way to manage your financial difficulty. Smiley

Most new projects listing on CMC are now having _____ AI name, for example AkitaAI, StableAI etc, there is nothing to be expected of these new projects, they are here to grab some attention that won't last and they will make tons of money doing so, it's always the money race.
Scammers are always there. Whatever the hype is, they will follow because they know that a huge amount of money can go there since investors really don't want to miss the train thus, they will invest in what's hype currently.

From NFT's to ICO's to DeFi's to Meme coins and now AI. Investors wanted to have a piece of it hoping that they will make some money and because of the desperation to make money, they often fall into the traps of these scammers who have a very attractive sales pitch attractive enough to get some newbie investors out there. That's why scammers are still scamming because there will still be investors who will get scammed on their end.

As for me, F*ck those scammers. I will not fall into their trap. I've seen numerous scam projects already especially in crypto and I've already built my own basis into whether which are scams and which are not. I'll just hope that only few investors will fall into these A.I scam coins.

Let's make a fun poll, we haven't changed it for a while.

When will LeBron pass Kareem?

Feb. 4: at New Orleans Pelicans
Feb. 7: vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Feb. 9: vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Feb. 11: at Golden State Warriors
Feb. 13: at Portland Trail Blazers

https://www.nba.com/news/lebron-james-scoring-tracker
I guess it will depend on how many points he will score against the Knicks which is live already.

He didn't play on their last game against the Nets because of an injury so maybe there's a chance that we might not see him playing in the next games. Well, if he will play and will not sit down, my best choice is against Thunder or against the Bucks. Lebron averaged more than 30 PPG on his last 5 games so just basing on that, you will have a guess on when he will surpass Kareem's scoring record.

In contrast, I want Lebron to surpass Kareem's record at the Chase Center against the Warriors. I don't have any reason, but I just want to see Lebron surpassing Kareem's record in front of my favorite team's fans. Cheesy

New York Knicks VS Los Angeles Lakers

Stake odds for this game are 1.81 for the Knicks and 2.05 for the Lakers,
I also bet for the Knicks on this one.

The Knicks are playing better on the road than on their home, but the Lakers are not playing that good when they are on the road because they are only 10-16 while the Knicks are 12-13 on their home. 1.78 Odds for the Knicks and hope they will win Smiley.

Maybe I’m a fool for this but I plan on betting on my Chicago Bulls tonight.  They are playing the La Clippers, who’ve got a winning record and are pretty good but the Bulls MO this year has been beat good teams and lost to awful teams so I think I’m going to try and stick with betting on that theme, and they are +2.5 tonight so throwing a few Satoshis down on the game.
Who knows. They might be the team that will end that streak. Cheesy

Also take note that the Bulls are the ones who ended the winning streak of the Nets that that's with Durant and Irving so anything can happen. Just stick with your team if you believe they will do it.

I'm furious at myself for not purchasing bitcoin sooner. Though I'm a happy man now because I can now smile at my wallet.

Invest now, so you will not regret it later.
You know what's the worst thing an investor can do in his investing journey? Not investing at all when people are scared of investing into it.

You're a newbie at that time and it's quite normal that newbies have some doubts into their minds when they see something for the first time especially when there's money involved. It's normal that they will be afraid at first because their hard-earned money is at stake.

As for you, no need to be furious about. There are some investors out there who also experienced the same as you are. They also have doubts in their mind when they first heard about Bitcoin. Anyway, you can't bring back the past anymore. The only thing you can do is to just move on, move forward and continue accumulating. After all, you started it already. Just continue what you are doing and for those newbies out there, OP said to invest now, but that doesn't mean that you will invest without any proper knowledge at all. Do a research first before investing.
