WOW, what a 3rd quarter by the heat.
~
That 3rd quarter alone made 2 histories for both teams.
- 46 points was the most number of points in any quarter for the Heat in the franchise playoff history.
- At the same time, that 46 points was the 2nd most number of points that the Celtics allowed to their opponent in any quarter in franchise playoff history.

I will not forget the taunts that the Celtics, and I will mention it here. The Bang-Bang taunt coming from Tatum, the Flex-a-Muscle coming from Brown, and the Timeout mock coming from Horford. How in the hell they can mock their opponents like that, and in the end they will lose? Do they know that they are facing an 8th seeded team that defeated the top 1 team in the NBA, and the favorites to win the title? They lead as many as 13, and they lose the game. What's worse is that Tatum didn't made a single field goal in the 4th quarter, and that's 5th for them all throughout his career. To add it up, he also made 3 crucial turnovers in the final minutes of the game that caused them the victory.

Now on the other hand, the only thing that the Celtics can do right now is to pray that Jimmy Butler will be having a bad night because they can't stop him. I mean no one can stop him. Even Horford who stopped Embiid in Game 7 can't stop him as well. Playoff Jimmy Butler is now activated. It's good that Coach Spo didn't give much minutes to Duncan Robinson because he knows that the Celtics has a good defense, so most probably he will just be a liability inside the court, and he might not make those threes.

Just for context only, with 14 Game 1's that happened in the playoffs, the team that wins in Game 1 series ending up winning the whole series (12/14) 85.7% of the time. I'm not saying that the Heat will win on this one since they won Game 1, but numbers don't lie. Smiley

Just like what I've expected that the Philly will be forced to have someone to take the blame and now they have joined the trend, sadly it turns out that it is Doc Rivers.

Quote
The Philadelphia 76ers dismissed coach Doc Rivers on Tuesday, the team announced.
~
As of now, there are 5 franchises in the league that got an open slot for head coach namely Bucks, Raptors, Pistons, Suns and then we have the 76ers who just joined the party, who knows there might be some additional in the following weeks.
This is quite unfortunate to see but I understand the Suns and Sixers situation because they have been going back and forth in the playoffs now with no benefits at all.
Like I said in my previous post, I will not be surprised if he will be the next one to get fired after what happened to Coach Bud, and Coach Monty Williams. I guess it's a good decision coming from the Sixers management knowing that Coach Choke Rivers already has 10 Game 7 losses (more than twice as the 2nd most which is Pat Riley with 5). Now the Sixers are in the list of teams who don't have a coach right now after the Bucks, and the Suns. The off-season is getting more, and more interesting aside from the trades that might happen at that time.

How many wants to put money on Miami heat?  Grin
That is one big image you got there. Should've cut it down, it takes a while to load the whole thing. Grin

I am putting my bet on Miami Heat on one of the first two games in Boston. Maybe Game 2. Then, I will bet the 2 more in Miami for the Heat. Game 5 will be forced by the Celtics for 2-3 and Game 6 is where I think it will end in favor of the Miami Heat. But that is just my prediction as I think the Heat are stronger with Adebayo and Butler combined and they have a deep bench too with good defensive rating. This will not just be a battle of coach's strategy and adjustments, but stamina will also be a huge factor to win the game.
Maybe he don't know that you can resize it thru setting it's width, and height.

Anyway, it's trilogy between the 2 teams. First match-up, Heat won in the Bubble. Second match-up, Celtics won by only a missed three-point. Now is the 3rd time they will face each other in 4 years. I wonder why the Heat only has 3% chance of winning against the Celtics after beating the Bucks who is the top favorites to win the title before the playoffs in 5 games? One thing also is that, these teams faced each other 2 times already in the playoffs, so they know the strengths, and weaknesses with each other already.

Nevertheless, I expect Butler to play like what he did against the Bucks. I expect the Playoff Butler to come up again. His performance might've went down during that series against the Knicks because of the injury that he got, but him, and other players like Bam, Lowry, and those undrafted players will help him for sure. Like you, I will also put my bet on the Heat here. I would want to see them make history as the 2nd 8th seeded team to clinch the NBA Finals in NBA history (1st is the Knicks back in 98-99). Heat in 6. Cheesy

I guess we need some laughs here, did you guys saw how Dwight's video making fun of inviting those that have been eliminated already like Julius Randle, Klay, Ayton, Poole and there are others. Well, it's actually funny how he's inviting them to play on T1 League in Taiwan. For the reference guys, I've seen it on this page on Facebook "Ballislife".
Howard's humor always, always make me laugh. Cheesy

I'm pretty sure that this is just a random video, and he wasn't serious about it that's for sure. Just think about it. Do you think that anybody in one of the players he mentioned in that video would like to really go to Taiwan? Cheesy
1263  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trading be my sole source of income? on: May 16, 2023, 03:11:35 AM
As a young person, I am overwhelmed by my curiosity in trading Bitcoin, but I'm not sure if it is appropriate for me to resign my white collar work and return to trading exclusively Bitcoin.

This was a conversation a buddy of mine and I had yesterday, and I felt compelled to bring it to this illustrious platform for the best types of advice and counsel.

Is it safe for a Bitcoin trader to quit their jobs and focus solely on Bitcoin trading if they can devote their time and attention to maximize the benefits in the Bitcoin world?
Yes you can, but the question is how knowledgeable, and profitable you are in Bitcoin trading.
Are you making the same amount that you're getting in your white collar work on a daily basis in Bitcoin trading? If yes, then are you consistent enough to gain profits on a daily basis? If yes then you're an expert then because you aren't losing. Cheesy. Are you ready just incase you experience losses because even experts experiences losses in trading.

Like you, I also thought of the same thing when I was starting in trading. What if I stop my day-to-day job and just focus on trading? I also have the same questions as you are. Few weeks after that, I started trading in futures because I know that I will not earn that much in spot trading. First few days I was profiting, but after that, I made one wrong entry, forgot to put a stop loss, and got liquidated. My days worth of profit just vanished in one wrong entry.

I'm not saying that my experience will happen to you because we are different. I'm just saying that there's a chance that it might happen to you, and if that happen, are you ready for it? Are you capable of letting your emotions go because sometimes, people let their emotion decide for them. Market don't care about your emotions, and if you lose, nobody cares.

Now to answer your questions, quitting in your job, and solely focus on Bitcoin trading isn't safe at all though I'm not saying that it's prohibited. I'm not recommending you to do it as well. I would suggest to just do both if you can. Continue on your day-to-day job while at the same time, doing some Bitcoin trading. Try trading first before deciding on quitting on your daily job or not.
1264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 15, 2023, 12:18:08 AM
Game 7 Boston is different. They finished the third quarter very well and widened the lead. Tatum plays amazing. I was waiting for this to be over at TD Garden, I think I wasn't wrong. The Sixers should have won at home in Game 6, it was clear they were going to have a tough time in Boston. I would prefer Boston to make it to the Conference Finals anyway. It will be an interesting series with Heat. Of course, first of all, Boston needs to complete the game without making any mistakes in the final period. The Sixers don't bode well, Embiid, Maxey and Harden are unbelievably bad today. They only scored 10 points, I don't remember seeing such a bad 3rd quarter performance from any team in play-offs.
They managed to stop Tatum in Game 6 temporarily because he became a hero in that game, scoring most of his points in the 4th quarter, and lead his team to victory. Now in crucial Game 7, he did it again as he broke the previous record that Steph Curry did, and scored 51 points, the most points in a Game 7 playoffs in NBA history as they won and will be facing the Heat in the Conference Finals. I just saw this in Facebook, but we are seeing the same teams facing in the Conference Finals during the 2020 Bubble. Lakers facing the Nuggets while the Celtics facing the Heat.

Just so for context, Joel Embiid is 0-3 now in Game 7's in the playoffs, and Coach Doc "CHOKE" Rivers did it again, and now has a record of 17-33 in closeout games all-time. He CHOKED again.  Grin Grin Being up 3-2, stealing one at the road, and I thought that they have the control already, but he choked, and so as the Sixers. He did it in the Clippers, and now he did again in the Sixers. I will not be surprised if he's the next coach to be fired this off-season.

Well, the Celtics manage to stop the big 3 of the Sixers because of their good defense. Anyway, good game for both teams. Celtics Vs. Heat in the Conference Finals again. We've seen these 2 teams matched up last season, and the Heat are just one Jimmy Butler's three only to win on that series. Will they get their revenge now, and will make a history.

I think Dennis Schroder is the best for a long time this is for the future of Lakers
Yeah, that was a good acquisition back for them and good decision for Dennis. Well, if he has just taken the old contract offered to him that's giving him lots of money, he should have some other extended contract now but let's see if there will be a better compensation to him after this season.
Well, I just hope that he will not demand more money again like what he did in the past where he demanded 100M$ to the Lakers. If I'm the GM, I'd rather spend more on Reaves than Schroder because he's the new star player in town.
1265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend's investment in Bitcoin on: May 14, 2023, 04:03:17 PM
He wanted to know what bitcoin is? I was telling him that bitcoin is a digital cryptocurrency coin launched in 2009 by a man named satoshi.
Man? So you think that Satoshi is a male? Where did you know that thing?

I tell him Bitcoin has been around for 14 years. I give him more idea about Bitcoin. At one point he expressed his interest in investing in bitcoin, I told him that there is a possibility of not only profit but also loss from investment. To invest you have to take risk. My friend invests in bitcoin knowing profit loss. He works for a salary of about $400 per month. He invested about $500 in Bitcoins. I didn't show my friend interest in investing in bitcoin. He himself knowingly invested in bitcoin.
Did I give my friend the right advice?
Well, I guess there's nothing wrong in helping your friend. The problem lies when you don't share the possible risks and consequences that he might face when investing into Bitcoin. As long as you shared the pros, and cons of investing into Bitcoin then you did the right thing.

I guess it's good for me that there's no one that's interested in Bitcoin here in my place. I'm the type of person where I don't want to just open a topic regarding Bitcoin out of nowhere, but I'll let them open the topic about Bitcoin (if they heard it), and from that I will answer their question thus, helping them to have more information.
1266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the fate of BTC payment now on: May 14, 2023, 03:18:22 PM
For the first time since 2022 I have officially put an end to Bitcoin payments on my business until further notice, I have gave few people some discount advantages to spread news about Bitcoin and now I am not so sure anymore, I can't even afford $5 per Bitcoin transaction, and also my customers that are surety when it comes to Bitcoin payment have all halt.
I guess that would be the better decision because in the end, your customers will also not want to give additional 5$ just for the transaction fees aside from the amount of the things that they will buy. I guess for now, it would be better to accept altcoins that has lower transaction fees, or let them transact using Bitcoin on weekends only since there are little transactions at that time. Currently, Bitcoin's transaction fees starts at $1.02 (27 sats/vB), and comparing to where it was a few weeks ago, that's already low.

Ordinals looks like it's here to stay, I don't believe that Ordinals is like ICO because they are different. And Ordinals came in a bear market, imagine what this will do to Bitcoin in a bull market.
If it will stay, I guess we expect high transaction fees again once the bull market starts.
On the other hand, this is just a theory, and anything can still happen. What if Ordinals will not be that popular in the future?

Is there any business owners accepting Bitcoin still? How are you doing it? Is there any way to go around this? I will appreciate, because I don't want to stop accepting Bitcoin, I have my long term plan and accepting Bitcoin as payment have helped so far.
I guess some business owners who are doing the same as you shared what they're doing here already.
Better to stop it temporarily, or if you really don't then it might be better if you find an alternative like an altcoin. On the other hand, you can still try and convince your customers to pay in Bitcoin, but don't make it mandatory. I mean let them pay if they wanted to because there might be some of your customers who still wants to pay thru Bitcoin despite of the high transaction fees.

One more Coach down.
Suns fire head coach Monty Williams after NBA playoffs elimination
https://sports.yahoo.com/suns-fire-head-coach-monty-williams-after-nba-playoffs-elimination-013546547.html
Quote
The Suns fired Williams on Saturday, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, two days after their elimination by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals. That disappointing exit left the Suns with some uncomfortable questions, one of which has now been answered.

I said this to my friends after Game 6 ended on Friday against the Denver Nuggets. Coach Monty will be fired. No questions. And it did happen.
It's too obvious because the team sacrificed two good players Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson in exchange for Kevin Durant and TJ Warren, so they will be expecting a better ending than being eliminated in the semis. They want a ring, a championship but Coach Monty cannot provide so he will be gone.

But rumors tell this might not be the end for him.
Milwaukee Bucks needs a new Coach and he might be one of the candidates with Kenny Atkinson, and Nick Nurse. Although I would like to see if the Bucks will try to make history and hire Becky Hammon and earn the first woman to coach an NBA team.

This is what? The 4th coach down? Correct me if I am wrong.
New owners typically want results. Unfortunately, the Suns had injuries at the wrong time. Monty will find another job pretty quick, but he should have never been let go.
After being blown out by more than 25+ points in 2 consecutive closeout games, I'm pretty sure why the Suns fired him.
Yes he's been a coach of the year a few years ago, and has been in the playoffs ever since he coached the team, but that don't matter if you lost 2 times by 25+ points in the playoffs.

Some notable coaches this season, and in the past has been fired. Coach Nick Nurse who gave the Raptors their first title has been fired. Coach Vogel who gave their title back in the bubble has been fired. Coach Budenholzer who gave the Bucks their first title got fired, and now Coach Monty Williams who has been COY twice has been fired as well. Well like you said, the Suns had injuries, and let's face the fact that the Suns have the worst bench players out of the playoff teams right now, and it's pretty obvious because Durant and Booker played more than 40 minutes in most of their game. If they are having a bad night (like what happened in Game 6), no one can step up with the team offensively.

As for Coach Monty Williams never been let go, we know that the Suns owner Matt Ishbia is hungry of winning, and he can let go anything in the team. No one is safe from them. The Suns will build a team around Booker, and Durant, so chances of Ayton and CP3 being trade might be high if it will help the team to win that title. I'm not surprised either to see Coach Monty Williams letting go after his performance in the playoffs in the last 2 seasons. Now the question is who will replace him as the new Suns coach. TBH, I always wanted Coach Mike D'Antoni to coach again in the NBA because of his offensive mindset.
1268  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can copy trading be profitable on: May 14, 2023, 02:00:20 PM
Is copy trading worth it

Can I make 20$ per day if I have 2000$
Didn't try it yet though I'm thinking of trying it years ago already, I just don't have the funds that I can be used for copytrading.
I saw this copytrading feature on eToro, but never tried it.

I think that copy trading can be profitable depending on the person you are copying with. There are times where the top traders in a particular platform have some bad days as well. As for the OP, 20$ per day might be achievable, but the question is how consistent the trader you will be copying is in terms of profits? There might be times where you can achieve this especially when it's on futures trading, but on a consistent daily basis? I don't think so.

Top traders have good times, and bad times as well, so if you will just go on the easy route, and just copy these traders, and you just sitting there watching Netflix, and not watching charts, chances of you losing your money might be high. Better to just learn trading by yourself, and you might get more than 20$ per day if you became a successful one.
1269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still do business with them? on: May 13, 2023, 09:59:17 PM
On May 8th the crypto community was greeted with the news that Cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex filed for bankruptcy. It was one of the biggest crypto exchanges to exist before Binance. It joins other crypto exchanges like FTX, platforms Celsius Network, Voyager Digital, Three Arrows Capital and BlockFi that filed for bankruptcy in 2022. Unlike FTX, Bittrex informed her customers to withdraw their funds before April 30th and even those who didn't would still be able to get their funds back in full.
This is the first centralized exchange that I've used back when I'm just starting to learn cryptocurrency. Been used Bittrex as well for spot trading when I was a newbie.
It's kind of sad for me (a little bit) to see a centralized exchange going bankrupt, but that's pretty normal already knowing what happened last year where so many exchanges filed for it as well.

What's good is that, they still informed their customers to withdraw their money unlike what other exchanges who filed bankruptcy did where they didn't inform their customers whatsoever. I don't know if there's a reason behind this, or maybe we might see them back into business anytime soon, and they don't want to destroy their reputation thus, they did this.

I know that many other centralized exchanges may declare bankruptcy - but let's ignore this for a moment and assume that these companies gets back in business would you patronize them? Would you still do business with them? I know the whole talk of move your bitcoin off centralized exchanges but we cannot denial the fact they that they still play an important role in the crypto community.
In this situation, NO.

With the emergence of Binance, I think that I will stay in using Binance, and only Binance. I'm not a fan of storing coins in CEX, but Binance has many features already that is very helpful to the user of their application. Like you said, CEX in general play a big role in the community especially in terms of buying, and selling, and earning passively (thru their Earn feature). As for Bittrex, I will not be surprised if they will come back to business in the future, but I don't know if they will be having that much customers still because some Bittrex users might switch to a different CEX, and when they are comfortable using it, they might stick with it.
1270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 13, 2023, 09:37:03 PM
People are underestimating Lakers a lot, we may see them go to finals. Remember the time Lebron lead a series in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks all at the same time? I am not saying he will do that, but we all know what he can do if he has to carry and not like he lost a series before, he did, and he may lose this one too, Denver is amazing and all and Jokic is unmatched and can't be guarded but Lakers is Lakers and Lebron is Lebron.

I think if given enough chances then we could end up with a good series. I do not see any clear winner here, I think it will be a close series that may end in 6 or 7 at least. That means even though it might be won by Denver, at least it will be close enough, or maybe Lakers will shock you all and win the series.
TBH, I'm one of them that are underestimating the Lakers, but after this series against the Warriors, I still don't see them winning the Western Conference, and going into the NBA Finals. Cheesy I have respect for Lebron though because he's one of the greatest basketball player in the NBA history.

The Lakers with AD and Lebron healthy plus good role players makes them one of the formidable teams right now. They're also the best defensive teams after trade deadline last February. They also became number 1 in free throw attempts after trade deadline. However, the Nuggets are at the top of the Western Conference for many reasons. They have good bench players who can step up if needed. They also have Jokic who might not that good in defense, but his all-around skills are just out of this world. I will not be surprised if Jokic will focus more on passing rather than shooting because he will be guarded by Davis most of the time.

Nuggets in 6. That's my prediction. What the Nuggets need is to defend their home court in the first 2 games because that's the key for the Lakers in winning their last 2 series. They stole Game 1, defended their home, and got the victory.
1271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 13, 2023, 01:16:57 AM
Ayton might be traded as he's not performing the way he was before when they reached the finals, not sure about KD and CP3 as they
are aging now and prone to injuries.

I like the athleticism of Booker, but he always ended short. Maybe they needed a much deeper squad to help him and KD for another try chasing the title.

This season is not for them as both Ayton and CP3 are not available and the executions of the plays for Nuggets are
really working well. Core players are all showing eagerness to win.
The Suns pursuing Ayton in the last off-season will be a burden for them. The Suns matching the Pacers' offer for him will be a problem for them. I mean last season, Ayton already wanted to go out in Phoenix to find another team. Pacers wanted them, but Suns matched their offer to retain him. Now their action backfired on them.

As for CP3, I will not be surprised if the Suns will trade him, and I guess he will be joining Barkley and others as the all-star players who didn't won any ring. As for KD, I'm pretty sure that the Suns will build a team around him and Booker. They just need better role players... or they got it already. I guess better bench players.

As for Nuggets, congratulations for them in clinching the Western Conference Finals, and they are waiting for the winner of Lakers/Warriors series. Just for a trivia, Jokic is the first player in nearly 60 years to average 30 PPG, 10 RPG, and 10 APG in a playoff series. On the other hand, the Suns are the 3rd player in NBA history to be defeated, and eliminated by 25+ points in consecutive playoff series.

They’re saying Chris Paul is done in Phoenix. Vegas currently has the odds on Chris Paul being with the Lakers next season. This wouldn’t surprise me at all as LeBron has always wanted to play with Chris Paul. I’m not sure having an injury prone Chris Paul on the roster with Anthony Davis will be great for the postseason. They’ll probably talk about it during tonight’s game.
It's good that CP3 has unleashed the potential of Booker, and Ayton because when he joined the Suns, the impact of him has been felt already by honing the skills of these 2 players. However, when the team needs him in times like this, he is injured. I will not be surprised if he will get traded. With Lakers? I don't remove the possibility of it to happen, but I don't think that he fits there TBH.

I can’t wait for this Lakers Warriors game tonight. I’m pulling for the Lakers because I can’t stand Curry, but I’m worried if that Lakers can’t pull it off tonight, they won’t be able to win game 7 at Golden State.  Thankfully Anthony Davis is playing tonight.

I hope Wiggins suits up as well. I don’t want either team to have an excuse for not winning.

Will be placing a bet on LA at -3.5

The match will be close,if Lakers dont win today i think they dont have a chance in Game 7 against the Warriors. I think Lebron and Davis need to be playing at their very best so that they take the win. If Curry goes into his scoring mode i dont think they will be able to stop the Warriors. But overall expecting a close match.
We saw Curry, and how he demolished the Kings in Game 7 where he made a history by scoring 50 points. I believe that he will do it again this time, in the road again to force a Game 7 on their home.

There are 2 streaks that are currently active in both teams.
- Warriors have 28 straight playoff series with at least 1 road win, and they are finding their 29th one. Can they do it here?
- The Lakers never lost in their home this series, and Lebron James won the last 15 potential closeout playoff games. I wonder which streak will end tonight. Cheesy
1272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: May 12, 2023, 07:56:32 AM
The first thing that came to my mind after reading this was that one should not talk about his crypto investments with strangers or friends as it can pose various risks. If you are active on forums like bitcointalk and involved in trades, you should not give information which can help others relate to your identity.
Partying together. I guess he accidentally spit out his investments, or his crypto-related business. Another one is that, one of the captors already has a past crime record. He trusted the wrong people I guess.

Now with regards to sharing sensitive information here, I've been in the forum for quite some time already, and I didn't shared any personal information or trades, or anything that might affect my privacy here. I mean why would you share personal information here in a platform where you don't know any user personally. I guess a gullible newbie who can easily get tricked is the one that might do it, but for those who've been in the crypto for a long time, they know that sharing information here is a no-no.

For me, I have told to some of my relatives that I'm holding some cryptocurrencies, but I never told them the total amount that I have. I just feel very uncomfortable to share with them the total portfolio that I got, and I guess just telling which coins are you holding is good already. For those who are holding huge amounts of cryptocurrencies, or even just a small amount, don't ever share it to other people because it might be a reason for them to make something bad to you like what the captors did to the investor in the article the OP shared.

Jason Tatum became the hero of the 4th quarter to steal one on the road, and extend the series to a Game 7 on their home.
After being miserable in the first 3 quarters scoring only 1 point, he scored 18 points in the 4th quarter, and he scored 13 in the 14-1 run in the final minutes of the game to win on the road 95-86.

The Celtics lead most of the game with the highest lead of 16 in the 2nd quarter, but the Sixers cut it in the 3rd quarter, and got the lead in the 3rd, and 4th. It was a see-saw battle until Tatum's threes. Points on the Celtics has been spread, and it's unusual to see a low scoring game like this coming from the Celtics who is one of the top in terms of three-point attempts. Anyway, they forced a Game 7 on their home. It's a do-or- die for both teams. Sixer fans out there are frustrated and disappointed on what they saw. Harden, Embiid, and Maxey played more than 40 minutes, but it wasn't enough for them to close the series.
1275  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of bitcoin is not rising soon!. on: May 12, 2023, 12:49:00 AM
The movement of price index has clearly show that the price will not rise this year, is almost half a year now since the price drops, this is far beyond inflation and fiscal policy of the government, I think bitcoin is suffering heavy weight withdrawals and it might end up been this Stuart for the year.
The market has been up by 86% already at it's peak, and currently it's up by 64%. Do you know what you're saying OP??
We are only at the 5th month of the year, and we know that anytime soon, Bitcoin can go up even more. If you will say that the reason why it will not rise this year is the Ordinals, or BRC-20 hype, it might affected it's price negatively, but I believe that when the hype is over, Bitcoin will start to rise up again soon. It already reached the $30,000 price a few months ago, and it will happen again.

I will ask you OP. When do you think will Bitcoin rise then if it will not be this year? Another one is, for you what is the definition of "rise" because I believe that it happened already since we've seen Bitcoin up 64% already year-to-date. I think that the reason why you created a thread like this is because you are one of the investors who are panicking on what's happening on Bitcoin right now. Cheesy

The Warriors won by 15 points. That was awesome, and now the series is 3-2. They will still be on the edge in every game, but they have a chance to win the series, especially if they win on the road, which is difficult.

Green and Wiggins made great contributions, but Thompson hasn't found his rhythm yet after having a great Game 2 performance.

The top performers for the Warriors were:

Curry: 27 points
Wiggins: 25 points
Green: 20 points
Yes, and it might be scary because we might see Game 6 Klay at Crypto.com? And I think it's the contribution of Green who really covered what the Warriors is missing on Thompson right now. Although there are reports that AD might not play in Game 6 because of concussions, but I think he will though, he just need to take a rest.

Now the Warriors won on a must win at home, can they do a must win in the road or as the predictions of 6 games for the Lakers will happen next game? Lakers now, opening at -1.5 at home as favorite.
Draymond Green is the catalyst of the Warriors. He boosts the morale of his team with what he is doing when he's on the court. On the other hand, I just hope that AD will recover after that elbow show coming from Looney. I don't want to see the Warriors winning against the Lakers because Davis didn't play in Games 6 & 7 (if necessary).

Just for a trivia. The Warriors under Coach Steve Kerr didn't lose to any Western Conference team in a playoff series (19-0 record). Maybe this will be the first time that he will be losing if they will lose in Game 6? Or the Warriors might force a Game 7 on their home. The pressure right now is on the Lakers TBH because they will be thinking of ways how to win against the Warriors which has lots of experience in this kind of situation.

Davis is the key for the Lakers to win. The Lakers as a whole have a net rating of -10 if Davis isn't on the court, so you can really feel the decrease in production when he's out. The Warriors are having a hard time defending him, but the good thing is that the Warriors are able to decrease his production in the 2nd half in Games 4 & 5. In this game, he played really well in the 1st half, but scored only 5 points in the 2nd half.

Let's also take note that in the history of the playoffs, teams who have 3-1 lead wins the series 95% of the time, so in short the Lakers have 95% chance of winning the series while the Warriors have only 5%. Still as a Warrior fan, I still believe that the Warriors can win in Game 6, and will force a Game 7 on their home.

The rate of inflation differs depending on the country where you are living in, and I know how you feel because I also felt it as well.

A few years ago, I was dreaming of buying a new home for myself. I know that I was far away from that, but I already saw the price, and start saving, and investing some of it to fight inflation. Then the pandemic came, and all was affected. From price of construction materials, to daily wages of the laborers etc. etc. The price of the dream home that I saw a few years ago went up by I guess at least 20%-30%.

You can fight inflation by investing that money into different assets that can give you interest higher than the inflation rate base on your country. It's just that, the rate of inflation for the past 2-3 years has been high that all of us who are earning bare minimum wages are greatly affected. I also want to question you. Why didn't you invest the amount of money that you saved instead of just saving it? You know that the inflation rate will be that high right? I'm not saying that you must've invested it into Bitcoin, but at least try to invest it into different assets instead of you saving it knowing that inflation is that high.

Your heart sunk, and I know the feeling. However, you must've been aware of what's happening with the economy like the inflation rate. There's nothing wrong with saving money because I'm saving a bit of my monthly salary as well. It's just that the inflation rate is very high at this moment that saving most of your money is the worst thing that you can do.
1278  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you Spending Money the Wrong Way in Pursuit of Happiness? on: May 11, 2023, 06:58:23 AM
I agree with some, but there are some parts where I disagree, or it's a subjective one.
  • buy more experiences and fewer material goods
I guess I will not disagree with this one. Though there's nothing wrong with buying material goods for your own happiness, spending your money to gain more experience, and knowledge is for me the best place where you can spend your money with. A happy person is willing to spend money just to fulfill their happiness.

  • use your money to benefit others rather than yourself
This is a very subjective thing, and for sure not all of us will agree on it.

How can you help others if you can't help yourself? At least before helping others, help yourself first. I know that helping others is a very fulfilling thing because I have done it as well in the past, and that's the best feeling that I ever had, but at least before helping others, make sure that you will not be having a hard time after that. There's nothing wrong on helping others, but if that's the reason that you will be poor, or can't afford to buy something in the future then I guess don't do it first.

  • buy many small pleasures rather than fewer large ones
The more the merrier I guess. Cheesy

  • pay close attention to the happiness of others
Different people have different levels of happiness, and we can't force a person to be happy if they don't want to. Why pay close attention to their happiness? I mean they can be happy if they wanted to right? Even a poor person can be happy with simple things. Even a homeless person can be happy with us not paying a close attention to them.
1279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: with the high transaction fees btc makes me stronger to hold btc. on: May 11, 2023, 03:33:07 AM
1: having expensive btc transaction fees makes me stronger to hold on to btc because I don't want to waste my money on expensive transaction fees.
Well, many see this as a problem while many see this as an opportunity for the holders to hold even more because of the expensive transaction fees.
However, I don't like the mindset where you will just only hold Bitcoin if the transaction fees are that high. I mean if you really want to hold Bitcoin, regardless of the transaction fees you will hold it. If you really want to sell your Bitcoin, then sell it if needed. Overall, regardless of the price of Bitcoin, I will not change my way of using BTC which is to spend regardless of the fees, and to hold it for long term.

2: my goal of investing in btc is for a long term investment so with expensive transaction fees
makes me stronger holding btc, because my goal is to invest in btc for the long term.
I just hope that you are stronger enough to hold your Bitcoin when the transaction fees of it goes down after a few months. Like you, many are holding Bitcoin for the long-term (including me), but like I said above, I will not change my way of using Bitcoin even though the fees are that high. It's good that you are buying Bitcoin for long term.

i want to hear your opinion,,,
and are you freaking out about the high btc transaction fees...?

but in my opinion if transacting btc it would be better to use a cheap transaction method.
I've seen this kind of scenario in 2017 where transaction fees of Bitcoin are very high. I was a newbie at that time, and I don't know what's happening, but looking at the fees at that time, I'm not surprised nor freaked out, and same here. At that time, I also saw the transaction fees going down after weeks and months, so I believe that it will happen again this time. They hype with regards to BRC-20 will go down as the days and weeks pass by. No need to freak out, and just focus on holding your Bitcoins.

If you really want to transfer coins, then like you said, I would suggest converting it into some trusted altcoins out there that has relatively lower transaction fees then transfer it.
1280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 11, 2023, 12:47:33 AM
Its impressive triple double performance plus a win for Jokic and for sure they are hype for the fact that they can able to handle this super team and now they are 1 game away to advance on next round.

You'll be impressed with Jokic every game as that's become normal for him. With the game now back in Phoenix, the Nuggets have momentum, and I think the road team may finish the series.

In the other game, the 76ers have surprised the Celtics by winning Game 5 and taking the lead in the series. I hope we won't see a repeat of last postseason, where the Bucks faced a similar scenario.
What's more impressive with him is his stats in the first 10 games of the post season.
In the first 10 games of this playoffs, he averaged 30.6 PPG, 13.1 RPG, 9.5 APG. In the league history, there are only 2 players who made that stat line in the first 10 games of the post season. Jokic, and Oscar Robertson way back 1963. That's how impressive he is right now during the playoffs.

The Nuggets are the best all-around team right now in the West, and even in the NBA. They have one of the deepest benches right now in the league, and to see them defeating one of the considered super teams right now by double-digits is just good to see. Now the question is can they break the record where the home team wins every single game, or they will steal one on the road.

Same situation with the Miami Heat, the team fought their way to clinch a play-in spot and who could've thought that with Butler's persistence and a little bit of help from the remaining roster, they are upsetting the favorites all the way up until now that they are going against the New York Knicks. Both play-in team in respective conference is still alive and have a 3-1 advantage over their opposing teams which are currently favorites. Now, that is really unexpected.

The Miami Heat is in the 8th seed creating a great performance against the 5th seed the New York Knicks if that isn't weird enough this season has provided us with definitely good entertainment the Warriors in the 6th seed upsetting the 3rd seed Kings, while the 7th seed Lakers upset the 2nd Seed Memphis Grizzlies, but maybe the Lakers on the 7th seed could upset the 6th seed Warriors that is what we are seeing right now,
Right now, the Heat are on the road of doing a bit of a history.

They're one win away from reaching the Conference Finals. There is only one team who won the Conference Finals as the 8th seed, and that's the Knicks way back 98-99 season. Though they lost in the NBA Finals, they still made history. With how the Heat are playing right now, they're on the road to become the 2nd team to do it. I just don't know if they have the capabilities to win against the winner of the Sixers/Celtics match-up. Overall, the Heat are playing very impressive in this playoffs, defeating the top favorite to win the title which is the Bucks, and now one win away from clinching to the Conference Finals.
