2222  Economy / Services / VISUAL BASIC form to read market and send orders to cryptsy, others, with api on: April 28, 2014, 11:48:30 PM
Thats it.

Basically the libraries for cryptsy API are available and all the work is actually done.  All you need to do is create a form with buttons and txt boxes.

Thats pretty much it.

-listbox with all pairs available
-retrieve balance for selected pair, bid ask price
-box for order size and price, buy/sell
-start button to send order

-oh and while we are at it have a timer to check the market bid price every hour or so and if the price is higher than the buy order, cancel the order and post an order at that price (just want a bit of logic in there nothing fancy)

if you are interested in this educational project please inquire, and how much you bid for this project.  pay can be in altcoins

Reason for this project is to have fun, but i need a starting platform first

Also reason its VB is because thats pretty much what ive ever programmed with (simple stuff), and i want to learn and play around.

2224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Doge coin is bad on: April 28, 2014, 03:28:41 PM
you guys are fucking idiots.

Everyone initiated to Doge gets initiated to crypto, BTC, and other altcoins and exchanges.  They also initiate their friends.

WHAT IS GOOD FOR DOGE IS GOOD FOR ALTCOINS AND BITCOIN

And doge is going on nascar.

When was the last time your "legit" coin (which has no purpose other than exchange and has no value other than the value users give it) did something for someone else?

where is the give water to the thirsty btc campaign?
roof and shelter for homeless campaign?
etc, etc

all i see is greedy fucks.  grow the fuck up, it is you who is limiting the crypto world, not doge

2226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][QBC] Québecoin - A currency for the Québec nation - X11 - DGW – IPO on: April 17, 2014, 02:15:10 PM
Why do you frenchies feel the need to be separate and unique? Why can't you just assimilate into the rest of canada like everyone else?
Does every State, Province and Town really need their own coin? How is that an evolution? How is that progress? Bitcoin took two steps forward and now you are taking one step back.
Bitcoin, used in all counties, nations and towns on the planet.
Quebeccoin.... used in quebec. Must be exchanged to bitcoin if you want to spend it anywhere else.  Roll Eyes

PROGRESS!

Assimilate?  Over my big dead ass.
2227  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: US Mining Hardware Deduction/Depreciation on: April 04, 2014, 04:18:39 PM
Is there anybody out there with real advice on the basics on how mining hardware could properly be deducted for US tax purposes?

Standard depreciation schedule ideas seem completely insane for the cost of hardware that gets bricked within well under a year.

Any legitimate advice, even on how to properly explain this to a tax professional, is greatly appreciated, as I'm sure lots of people have this same question.

Please no general conspiracy theories or bitching, because I understand it's nice to have political opinions, but what you think about the IRS is not helpful to people trying to actually accomplish something.

By the nature of capitalizing equipment if it's not intended to serve a use for more than 1 year you cannot depreciate it. No matter how much someone may want to there isn't a way to depreciate something that will only serve a use for less than a year. Now, with that said, the outlook might change if BTC appreciates significantly in price, but your forecast of useful life is supposed to be based on historical evidence, and thus far ASIC gear shows no evidence of a useful life beyond 12 months.

In my own operation I am flipping old equipment anyways, so I won't even come close to a year. Purchase price of the asset is an expense, and the salvage value is what you sell it for and is recorded as a revenue. This is a line item against expense in the same year, and just added to revenue if the sale happens in the following year. Personally, based on my mining experience (which is what your accounting is supposed to be based off), the idea of putting any ASIC gear on a depreciation schedule sounds completely ridiculous.

keep it running and depreciate it like any capital investment, for example, a computer.

Are you guys seriously  blaming only CryptoRush, and disregarding the BC dev fuck-up and the unethical withdrawals?

There is no 'fuck-up' by the BC dev. Cryptorush was the only exchange with issues, ITS THEIR FAULT

this is the spirit of cryptorush:

insanely digusting

As a reminder R3wt is the guy who's exchange has been hacked twice so far this year. Talk about the blind leading the blind.

Or the guy who's learned valuable lessons.

At least R3wt (OpenEX) and def_ender (Freshmarket) are the only two exchange owners I know that paid their customers (almost) all coins back. Not by chance they were open and honest about their security issues as well. Erundook, Coinmarket.io, Mt. Gox, Ecrypto and other hacked exchanges can learn a lot from these guys. I am afraid R3wt is more thrustworthy than Erundook. Don't really understand why the Coinmarket.io witch hunt seems to be much bigger than this one. Always thought CoinEX was one of the biggest players around (in contrast to Coinmarket.io).

FRESHMARKET PAID BACK EVER SATOSHI OF EVERY DAMN COIN I HAD THERE.

Freshmarket was an awesome site and I still curse the hackers that made him close to this day.

2235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin insurance on: March 21, 2014, 06:28:52 PM
Is this going to be like a bank that would store bitcoins?  Or like an AIG where you're selling insurance on a loss in value of BitCoins?

AIG that worked out great another fine product of Deregulation.

Then that's different.  Nothing stops someone from creating an OTC derivative contract say Mt gox credit default swap where if they default/failure to pay back users within x time frame it is triggered, and the price would be based on investors in that product's view on Mt gox credit risk.

only way 'insurance' here would work.  Hmm.  PM me then if someone is interested, i would see people trading this product based on all the chatter regarding being goxx'ed for example
2236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi was a "genius", then why do BTC transactions take so long? on: March 21, 2014, 02:51:30 PM
Around ten minutes to be basically "written in stone" is too long?

Sheesh...

uhmmmmm

YES THATS WAY TOO FUCKING LONG

Jesus

Jesus

10 minutes

maybe in 1994 that was cool
2237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin insurance on: March 21, 2014, 02:41:49 PM
insurance would be paid by.....whom?

the users?
the exchanges?

how much, what rates.....if the risk of loss is to zero, and that risk is high....then insurance becomes impractical

Hey Devs,

due to the altcoin crash in general, and the low price of the coin, and the low hashrate of the system

HEAR YE HEAR YE

Lets cut that inflation to near nothing, bring block rewards down, etc.  Should create value but most of all it will spur attention into the coin

my 2 cents
2240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: March 20, 2014, 09:21:39 PM
omg cant believe these new accounts spending so much positive about a website who has apparently no answer to what has happened to questions, which coins were stolen? which coins were not? If not all coins were stolen, then refund us? or at least make a list of who the fuck lost how much? is it too difficult? creating this bogus accounts to post positive things is a doubtful thing to see. Hope I get my 4M or 5M whatever I had of those zeitcoins.

im not a new account and thats because coinex was the best place to trade and have a beer.

good times

captainfuture was always in the chat ready to help anyone, but tickets kinda had a backlog...and before the site was slow as shit...but it was the best

lets just hope they figure something out
