jk_14 with the crazy outdoors rig !!!  Congratulations and thanks to everyone for playing this silly contest, brought to you by cryptominingtalk.com and the referral/ad money it gets.  I might have more contests coming up for fun, let me know if you have any suggestions !!!

1222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v8.0 (Windows/Linux) on: March 08, 2017, 02:28:04 AM
Guys, While mining ethereum, 1 think i do not understand:

I have a Sapphire RX 480 nitro oc+ 1342 MHz.
With original bios, I get about 24.5 MH/s. With timings bios, i get about 28.1 MH/s.
Wenn ich change the mem frequence from 2000 to 2200 MHz, there is no change.. although some guys in forum were getting more than 30+ MH/s.
Any idea why ?

Thank you very much

change memory clock, then restart the computer.  It will work after.

Ok people, I'm going to end this contest on Saturday EST, noon.  These are pretty much all really good rigs so its going to be hard to find a winner.  I might just randomly select one out of the ones I pick.

edit: ill announce and PM the winner tomorrow, kinda busy.  So I chose 5, and I'll do a random draw or something.
1224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 06, 2017, 01:41:12 PM
By the way, don't want to seem like a beggar here (lol), but there is a 4btc contest going on at forum.bitcoin.com.  You can only vote if you already have an account there, but if you do, vote for "Mining Support and why you should mine."  If I win, the prize for this contest shall suddenly be VERY interesting.  I can still dream.
1225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 06, 2017, 01:38:41 PM
Talking about rigs and cooling solutions is allowed.  If you use evap cooling, monitor humidity but It should be just fine.  Dry air is a problem for home miners, especially in winter.  Man we got some clean and tidy rigs and the "explosive man" rig Smiley hahahahhaha.  The aluminum rigs are so clean, but those supplies are pretty expensive where I live.  Maybe in the USA they are cheaper ?  And AxeS89 don't worry if you can't insert a pic.  Some of these rigs are works of art.  Some are contemporary art Tongue
1226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 05, 2017, 02:27:10 PM
Wow a lot of crazy entries........!  Oh yeah I took down the advert of the rack case gpu mount, I agree it wasnt really appropriate.  I mean, he can show it off in the contest if he wants, just not as an overt advert...And yes, building your own will always be cheaper !  Buy parts on sale, buy second hand what is less important warranty wise and ROI will always be better.
1227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 04, 2017, 04:53:55 PM
Aries....Well you aren't eligible for the contest Smiley  I'll keep your advertisement on the thread, because it is a very nice rig.  Although I advise people to visite my site if they need help, and to build their own rigs, which is kinda the point of this thread too.
1228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did I just send 0.2 BTC into the void? UpHold Concern... on: March 04, 2017, 03:32:57 AM

Home made wood cabinet, takes a lot of effort lol.  nice.

And I deleted the last comment.  You can speak your mind, but i'd prefer more than a few words to explain your thoughts.
1232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 02, 2017, 05:17:15 PM

1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 02, 2017, 02:16:34 PM
wooo0000 good stuff, this competition is going to be tightttttt.

-Really like those usb fans, thats quite original !

-...Is that...Is that a dishwasher rack for drying dishes ? Smiley

-Rack mount rigs are getting quite popular these days.  Good for you for using blower type gpu's, they exhaust out the back.

-Oh damn GPU's with home-made fans on the heatsink, thats awesome.  I have one card like that.  cooling is so much better.

I've edited the competition info, instead of end of march, I may decide to end it early if we get enough submissions.  I also may do 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place prizes too.  Depends on how many people post their rigs.  Happy mining !
1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 02, 2017, 02:19:38 AM
nice !  I like how you "planted" those usb risers on the wood block.  Plus it looks like your daily computer, extra points lol

1239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! *ENDED* on: March 01, 2017, 06:44:08 PM
Time to get Schwifty Smiley  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ctK1aoWuqY

Ok.  Here is a new contest, brought to you by the good folks at www.cryptominingtalk.com (...well..me).  This contest is funded exclusively by ad revenue (people clicking on ads) and mostly by the amazon referral program, where you can click on the amazon link and then buy your stuff.  The website typically gets a small cut of the purchase, and I decided to give it back to the community.  So if you want to help out, there will be bigger prizes in the future Smiley  Thanks in advance.

I am also giving some prizes away in another thread by Philipma57 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1774597.80;topicseen).  He has given away a lot in diff guessing contests and I wanted to help out a bit.  Feel free to join and participate.

There is a lot of greed in the crypto world, but also a lot of good will.  Part of the fun and attraction of cryptocurrency is the mining part - the building, experimenting, tinkering and just "making it work".  So in the spirit of sharing, I hereby open thy contest.

-You must post a picture of your GPU or ASIC mining rigs, and/or cooling solutions.  It doesnt have to be flashy and well organised - It can be improvised and home made.  Points are given for originality, function, and mostly effort.
-I will decide the winner.  If there is no clear winner (probably wont be, since this is quite subjective), I will choose a number of submissions (probably 5), and choose the winner randomly.
-At the same time, feel free to discuss your rigs with other members, help out others, etc.  If you see unsafe setups, please don't hold back.  Safety is number one in mining.

Unfortunately I have decided to open the contest to everyone, except newbies.  sorry.  To prove that the rig you are posting is indeed yours, you must have some sort of identifier (a sign saying cryptominingtalk contest or your username for example).  Although this isnt mandatory.

Prize for the winner is:  1x USB Riser, one of the latest versions, shipped to you (Canada and USA only).  If you live elsewhere or don't want it, you can choose to receive 0.01btc.  Contest ends on the last day of March.

edit:  If a lot of people post their rigs, I may end the contest earlier than in one month.  I also might do 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place prizes.  Or maybe Most original, Most functional, Most ghetto, etc.
