for the guy with the Geforce 610....1gb....ouch well its not going to work for ethereum i'm sorry.  But there is hope, fear not, the simplest thing you can do is download nicehash miner software, and see if it works with that.  If it does work, then you'll be able to see your speeds for a bunch of different algorithms, and after that you can choose a coin you want to mine.  you can try sgminer, ewbf's miner too.  good luck, but its better to get a newer gpu Smiley

Just for your information, you can put set instead of setx, basically the difference is set is changed only for the duration of the program.  setx is basically a universal change.  Good to see your gpu's are working, sometimes its the little things...

Ok thanks! Will the settings, that were defined with setx, be reset to default upon restart of the pc?

no, they will not reset. the values persist through reboots with SETX. with SET it will only be used in that CMD (or .bat) session and be reset when it closes or the machine reboots.

i prefer environmental variables to only be used for the duration of that mining session in case some other program i will fire up at some point uses those values and behaves unexpectedly. not that i know of any but you never know.

I'd prefer temporary environmental variables too. You don't happen to know what the default is, do you? XD (I already used the setx commands)

Edit: Nevermind, I found that they are stored in the registry and did a quick comparison with another pc. I think you can just delete the entries without any issues

yeah I think you can.  You can go I believe in advanced system settings, system properties / advanced tab.  then its the environment variables button.  You can see everything from there.

1384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire RX 470 cards modifications. What is the difference on: January 25, 2017, 01:56:45 PM
Some have hynix memory, 8gb some have samsung memory, some have elpida memory.  I guess they change up things a bit depending on input costs and what is available.  For example early nitro's had hynix, and the latest one I got had elpida.  But they are all good anyways, the hashrate shouldn't change that much.  just your memory timings may change if you have elpida.
1385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: January 25, 2017, 01:53:00 PM
I believe the technology of bitcoin is the future of money.  Unfortunately, what will probably happen is central banks and such will create their version of bitcoin, controlled by them, and then that will replace bitcoin in the normal economy.  they will try to marginalize what they cannot control.  I know Bank of Canada and bank of england all have interesting papers on blockchain tech and bitcoin.
1386  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining Taxation in Canada on: January 25, 2017, 01:48:53 PM
There is a soft limit in Canada to declare income, for example you can make 1000$ shoveling snow, and you don't have to declare it.  Its not very high though.  I suppose you should keep all you bills for mining gear, and calculate depreciation, etc.  If its in your home, you will deduct the % of your home used for mining, so lets say 15% of the home including your "home office", where you have your computer.  Speaking of computers, that will be included too.  You will also deduct your home internet connection.  You will deduct that % off your mortgage interest payments.  Also calculated electricity cost for miners.  So if you do it properly, the business should not make profit, or just a little.  Just how it works.  did you drive to buy a GPU ?  deduct that.  So get a good accountant if you want to go that road, and be as pointy as the taxman.  Its just following rules to the letter.

edit:  If you do run it from your home, then you may have problems with your home insurance, some don't like you running a business.

Cyptominingtalk, I think this is a good forum for discussing more specific about the world of mining.
The miner does require a special place to discuss issues related to mining yes especially altcoin mining and the like.
and I am very happy to join because I needed greater knowledge about mining, because I am still a novice but I really like mining.
Thanks Sato$hi, if you are new to the world of mining, this forum is a great place for information too.  For more specific info on how to start up, check out cryptominingtalk, but the best thing you can do is get involved with people here in the threads that interest you most !  Welcome to the club and good luck Smiley

16.11.4 I believe.  But you really need 6GPUmod

I've said it before but let me say it again.

"Error 43" is usually caused by the onboard graphics card being read as the 6th gpu. 6 GPU mod won't help him. He has to disable his motherboard built in graphics.
Yeah its a good idea to disable onboard graphics.  Although mine are still enabled and it works.  Error 43 and that yellow triangle I think means the system cannot allocate resources to that device, so it doesnt work properly.  so yeah those resources could be taken by onboard graphics, hd audio or whatnot I guess.

Looks like a really good project to be honest.  Too bad the french translation was already taken, Its pretty much the only thing I do well, since french is my first language lol.  Anyhow I checked the page and well......well I mean google translate does an O.K. job I guess (not really)...kind of shitty thing to do honestly.  anyways I'm looking forward to see more "concrete" applications.  Good job guys.

feel free to go 1100 and -96mv, if it crashes, just bring the voltage up a bit.  but it most likely wont for zec

6 rx models work just fine with win7, just install 6gpumod, and put force and rewrite the registry.  Maybe it helps too when you install the drivers after DDU to not install HD audio.

Question for all...

I have an issue I've never had before.  I have 12 rigs running, half msi 480 x 6cards and half R9 Furys x 5cards.   Two of my Fury rigs have some type of oily liquid leaking.  It's coming from one of the cards on each rig. Ever since I switched to 11.1 and started messing with the intensity did I notice the leaking.  I pulled the cards and am going to RMA them, was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them.  The temps of the cards aren't even close to the max rated so I'm not sure what the cause is.  The ambient temp in the room has been the same since I started mining 2ish months ago, fans blowing on all rigs.

could be flux.  I wouldnt worry too much if it hashes correctly.  Send an email to the manufacturer and ask.  Or as the above poster said, gel.
1396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptominingtalk on: January 23, 2017, 05:10:50 PM
Nice website that you have there, I was searching for mining info but when I search in google it seems almost all sites are obsolete, hopefully this not your case at first view all the information is updated.

Yeah well that's because in the dark times of 2014 for gpu mining, a lot of people stopped their work !  (when litecoin died for gpu mining, and of course, the great bitcoin crash).  I'll try to keep everything up to date for as long as I mine.  By the way, since I get about 500 spam comments a day which are filtered, some real ones get lost in there.  So if you have a question or anything and it doesnt show up after a day or two on the site, just send me an email at admin@cryptominingtalk.com or PM me here, Its a pleasure to answer any questions related to mining.  Or for more specific questions, for example claymore ETH miner, go in the specific thread and search for that question, if you cant find it, post it !

guys please answer to my question
how many gpu windows 7 64 bit can support?

old gpus up to 6 with hacked reg edit

new gpus max is 4 (maybe 5)

get 6 gpu mod.  i have one win7 rig with 5 RX, putting the 6 this week.  ill let you know.

edit:  works just fine.
1400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gateless Gate: zawawa's open-source ZEC/ETH/XMR/FTC miner (223 sol/s on RX 480) on: January 21, 2017, 05:02:48 AM
wow this is really coming along good.  Does anyone have specific settings for .bat file or config, for example, for rx models, or fury, etc, like xintensity and what not.  trying to figure out whats best, but I get a lot of HW errors (for eth).  Also with an rx 470 for example, I get 2mhs under claymore 7.4.  As soon as I get it working right I'll put a nice post for you on my website.  All the noobs go with claymore, but with good explanation and example .bat files that works perfect, they'll flock to gateless gate.
People flock to what is the fastest. That doesn't make you a noob, but you sound like one if you can't figure out settings and hardware.  A 470 can do ~27.6MH (or 24.5 w/o bios mod) with CM 7.4, not sure how you are getting 2. I don't know speeds for Eth on GG, but the main focus is ZEC for now, so may be a while until Eth, and others are competitive.  I tried the XMR mining on it, get ~400, CM miner gets ~680. I love CM miners for reliability, many options and control, and remote monitoring (this is a godsend), though I would use another miner if it were faster, preferably with remote monitoring.  ETH/ETC are generally most profitable for Polaris cards right now anyway, likely not going to change since 1060/1070, and 28nm AMD GPUs are better at it.

lol I must of mis-spelled/typed/explained.  I asked if anyone had good settings that minimized HW errors, its about being a little lazy I suppose.  Yes 470 does 27-27.5, just change the timings depending on memory type.  I meant 2 below what I get with CM 7.4, not 2...so 25 with Gateless gate.  yes people flock to what is fastest, but for ETH you can't really go any faster due to the algo, so if gateless is about equal, that's better due to the fee.  I wasnt saying I was a noob, I was saying n00bs get confused with all the settings.  Anyhow, you should use optiminer for zec mining right now, its much faster except on the 280x.  Its late, i cant express myself correctly.  damn rhum.
