2241  Economy / Gambling discussion / betting online cockfight has become the new pandemic on: November 22, 2021, 03:57:01 PM
a law maker Cayetano in our country Philippines calls for the rejection of legeslative bills for the successive passing of franchise bills for online cockfight betting firms. reason is, many lives had already been ruined because of the online "sabong" in the country. there was a news about a local celebrity who loses his fortune because of online betting. the article mentions the lad who was arrested for failing to pay debt of more than $10k.

Quote
Online cockfighting and gambling have been described by former Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano as the “new pandemic” that requires immediate government action in order to save Filipino families from social, moral and economic degradation.

https://mb.com.ph/2021/11/22/cayetano-online-sabong-gambling-are-the-new-pandemic/

not sure if he will suceed with his campaign.  its governed by the big boys in the country namely Atong Ang. it could just be Cayetanos election gimmick since he is running for a position again but he has a good intention.

anyone who isnt from philippines, may really find this animal cruelty which may only exist underground but this cockfighting is already part of the culture. even when i was a kid i already been exposed to mini cockfighting arena every festival where people bet for the lives of the roosters.

government is also earning from these betting firms which is why its becoming a usual to approve bills.
should the government risk the teens today knowing that cockfighting arenas can routinely operate everyday online?

2243  Economy / Gambling / Re: If your games aren't provably fair, stop claiming they are. on: November 08, 2021, 02:43:56 AM
I don't know at all to check that. I just play based on their popularity with how they pay people to play there. But it is important to know how casino sites have "Probably Fair" even though we know the house always wins.
The big bonuses or promotions that casinos offer are usually a trap for people who don't care about the safety of their games.

not everyone will really check those RNG or the seed until they notice how much is lost from thier wallet. but basically, when you don't know what is happening behind the scene, you got to ask yourself whether the casino you are playing is being fair to you.

you don't even know how you got to play but because people are suggesting. when they say super fair casino you may actually believe that but it's always marketing terms.

I was expecting much more activity from Colby Covington but he was careful with the way he approached the fight and it is because of the heavy hands of Kamaru Usman and he is entering the legends status with his reign in the division. I hope Khamzat Chimaev will be a good challenger for Kamaru Usman.

Both of them had a smarter approach to this fight compared to the first. It actually made for a better fight, and both showed how well they can adapt from fight to fight. Usman being the puncher that he is, still hadn't been able to take off Colby's head, and most of it was due to him not willing to expose himself to much just to get that flashy KO. Smart move.

for spectators though its about backing up what they are saying. the pre-conference sounds tougher but usman proves his words again.

2247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / FDIC Allows Banks to Own Bitcoin on: October 28, 2021, 07:04:50 AM

while SEC is trying to find ways to regulate cryptocurrency including the stablecoin issuers. Jelena McWilliams the Chairman of FDIC is telling the banks to own crypto assets. this is the example of "if you can't beat them, join them" since FDIC is not preparing a roadmap for banks to be able to own Bitcoin. there might be some issues and debates before this will happen since banks are regulated while crypto couldn't.

Jelena McWilliams Chair of FDIC said that "If we don't bring this activity inside the banks, it is going to develop outside of the banks. The federal regulators won't be able to regulate it."

but let's say its approved, will any of you go to deposit your BTC to banks?
2248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: October 27, 2021, 02:33:42 PM
I still haven't found any confirmed date and month for this match. Did anyone find any legitimate source when this match is likely to happen?

I can't find any date as well, maybe they are working on the background and trying to push this fight this year at least December so that it will be a good year for boxing.

I do agree with @arwin100, the pressure will still be on Casimero's shoulder to perform and show the world that he can still knock out his opponents and face the Monster next. We don't want a boring fight like the last one. He has been in this kind of situation though, so I'm confident that Casimero will win in this fight.

Rigo is a boring fighter, not Casimero's fault if his opponent doesn't want to be aggressive and make a good counter punch.

That last fight also teaches Casimero good lesson, he should be add more patience and observe
how his opponent will bring the fight.

From that point, he will be able to plan a better strategy and a possible KO once he already
understand the characteristic of his opponent inside the ring.

I agree with that, that was the most boring fight of Casimero that I witnessed and that was because his opponent was just running all throughout the fight. We will never gonna see it again s no promoter would be happy seeing that especially if the fans are booing because they like actions in the ring.

Mayweather seems to be the father of that method.

Mind you, Rigo was not boring against Donaire, and in fact, he won that fight, but when he fought Casimero, seems like he is afraid of Casimero's power so he forgot to engage and he is just running to survive. IMO, his career is over, he should retire and he can no longer win against a younger fighter, I'm sure his country is already proud of his achievement in boxing.

i even thought rigo will outbox casimero when their fight was announced. he was a champion at some point he has good experience already since he is already up there compare to casimero.

apparently casimero is also becoming confident with his strenght chasing belts and wasnt disappointed as fate favours the brave. butler might fell to the same casimero trap, he looks very incautious reckless but can beat the hell out whoever on his way up.
2249  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation & Supply Chain Issues-How bad is it going to get?! on: October 27, 2021, 02:12:38 PM
So much talk about inflation and hyperinflation. What's the urgency? Panic in the air?  Kiss

Or maybe just needing last resort buyers for grossly inflated assets? We will find out soon I guess.

[moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]

its becoming interesting because just recently jack dorsey of twitter tweeted abiut hyperinflation is coming. with that people will really panic buy in stores.  there was already incident in the news i think it was in ohio where the people are ransacking a grocery store. and rich families are hiring security guards for themselves.

i dont know what goes on in USofA but soomeone's got to wake Biden up.
2250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: China uplifting crypto ban? on: October 27, 2021, 01:58:24 PM
Not sure if this is fake news or legit, but should it be legit, then you can clearly guess and predict what China is trying to do... that is, manipulate the prices of cryptocurrencies.

Ban - Price drops and they buy
unban - Price rises and they sell
Ban - Price drops and they buy
Repeat.

Personally I care less about China. Bitcoin isn't going anywhere.
Why use the term bitcoin isn't going anywhere? Are you one of the few that think that bitcoin position will be flipped very soon with another coin entirely? I will wait for your reply

i think he meant bitcoin will not mind what china would do anymore even if they unban or ban again crypro mining. we all know the country has always been decieving.

but as we can see miners had already fleed out from china. are there still going to be interested to build farms when they keep these kind of laws. but then again, i have the feeling they were just driving away those old mining farms so a government funded miners can replace them.
2251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to my bitcoin if I die today? on: October 27, 2021, 01:48:46 PM
You asked a good question. First of all, I would like to say that the first condition for giving security to Bitcoin or cryptocurrency wallet is to keep your password completely secure. That doesn't mean you can't tell your loved one. It is important that you understand who are most close to and who is the person is eligible to share it. But I think you can tell your loved one by keeping it like a locker in a certain place. If you die suddenly, let him get the key or passwords or any other things to unlock your assets.
the issue of private keys is a very sensitive matter in my opinion. especially when it comes to money. if we are married, it is quite easy to explain to our partner how to login and so on to secure the assets that we have later. it's just that some people refuse to tell them because they procrastinate or think about other things, so sometimes it's too late. Anticipating something like this is really needed because when no one knows about your PK and password, your assets will be there forever. So, start looking for someone you really trust for this business.

this is appropriate at least you are leaving your assets to someone who will benefit when you are gone. some are not lucky to find someone.

to someone who only have kids, bypassing the mother is more important to fathers i think that even if they dont get the custody of their kids they stil want the kids to inherit something from them.

its best to just kids to day about bitcoin and how to secure their PK.

2252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What the government expect from bitcoin legality? on: October 26, 2021, 03:34:59 PM
you bumped after 40minutes... take a breath.

more than 12.hours. many would contributed but we are warned by that highlighted line up there that we'll get reported if we couldn't contrulibute 😁

i dont think the government does want anything to do with BTC. they wanna destroy it and want people to only look at the fiat bills alone and not even want to improve your life. in fact if you become richer they want you to experience slow death by taking huge tax from you.

the government can't stop BTC. might as well enjoy its growth like what El salvador did.
2253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SNL had a skit where they said the Devil invented Bitcoin on: October 26, 2021, 02:48:31 PM

Bitcoin just disrupts lot of good things happening. without Bitcoin everyone will still be relying to banks and SEC will still be happy not crumbling how to regulate the kind of currency. because of Bitcoin their party is disrupted.

without bitcoin governments and banks will not experience the panic because they could forcibly get money from peoples account easily. BTC is evil, too bad for Joe he ends up inheriting a problem he never thought it will be this big.
2254  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market Sentiment on: October 25, 2021, 02:32:58 PM
Market sentiment based on social media it's not going to do much good with respect to Bitcoin, as the price is being driven up mainly by institutional demand, as can be seen in google trends. I believe retail FOMO will be unleashed at $100k and above, and there we can get into lucubration whether the sentiments seen on social media have any influence or not.

Not disagreeing but I think it was premature for people to write retail investment off (that was even from 2019, gathering more supporters in 2020). That Bitcoin ETF that chalked up over a billion dollars in trading on Day 1? They themselves said it was majority interest from retail players.

And no, I don't think ETF really impacts market but if that's your first taste, maybe you want the real thing later.

that what BTC gurus said too. although ETF has billions of volume right when the trading started, the funds are not making the BTC spot market price up.

aparently its kind of a factor for investors to see the market sentiment which could be the basis for deciding to buy on spot market. and its showing on the MAs.

2255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: October 25, 2021, 01:53:30 PM
Congratulations to Usman Nurmagomedov for winning his 14th win in his pro-career which is until now his record is still clean.

Will he be able to keep his record when he will be given chance to sign to the UFC? or he is not ready for it yet?

I think UFC fighters are on some new level where he might not have some capability to win a championship there but who knows? He has one of the unique trainers that has already won championships and managed to get out there with clean records. no other than Khabib "the Eagle" Nurmagomedov himself.

I don't think the UFC has that aura that it once had, fighters tend to be more calculated to their approach than they were. Some might not like the lack of competition provided and think they would have more of an interesting career in ONE, some calculated that the tournament setting in PFL could bring them closer to big money than going to UFC, so on and so forth. So a number of options bring about a number of possibilities.

UFC somehow is like the upper stage because the promotion is well known and Dana has good PR which they earned when they made it as reality TV when UFC started.  but in reality there are really great fighters in Bellator and the rest like in One champ.

its Dana who chooses to be in UFC, if he sees a mma fighter gained fame and can bring crowd he might make arrangement. money will always win just like Fedor said to Dana.
2256  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For those who think that they caught the moment when it's late to buy on: October 25, 2021, 01:44:00 PM

for them to be able to borrow for futures trading they will have to own some first which means they first have to buy. 😀

the reason why they think its too late to buy is because of the price of BTC. 63k for 1BTC is really heavy for someone.  they have not learned about BTC while its cheap or they were confused because they thought BTC was scam since the media made it appear as scam.
2257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will bring the chaos what the world need. on: October 24, 2021, 05:14:21 PM

one of the first so far threads created by a newbie that didn't spread something else but appreciation about BTC.  when you begin to understand how money works and Britain as the bank scam capital of the world you will also begin to understand Bitcoin make sense.

There is a lot of admiration in your words.
Why do I feel like RainbowKun is somewhere nearby? Sad Huh

probably but he has not mentioned yet the relationship between extraterrestrial, Bitcoin and skynet so hold your horse yet. the series of threads to be posted will be the cue of it.  Grin
2258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: October 24, 2021, 02:37:39 PM
I can already see Logan Paul without one ear...  Grin Grin Grin

Mike Tyson was a beast in his day, but I think this match has come too late for Logan Paul to say he won a fight against a legend of boxing. The much younger Logan Paul will last a lot longer than the older Mike, but Mike Tyson will go for the early knockout.  Grin

I hate exhibition fights... because there are not a lot of the competitive drive in those fights to win, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt.  Wink

logan bleeding as his ears fall to the ground will be worth watching. he better keep the distance. Cheesy
if this is up to 8 rounds again, they will just keep making the viewers excited seeing how they dock each other's punches until round 8th and then a split draw just like the exhibition fight with roy jones. they'd still be happy even when they know the result will always be a draw.

this is expected to happen in Feb 2022, we are going to see crypto logo once again on their shorts.
2259  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think crypto will be the future for payments in space ? on: October 24, 2021, 02:09:02 PM
Do you think crypto will be the future for payments in space ?

How will they pay people long distance ... from planet A to planet B ?
Yeah it could be. Aside from the securities it offers, crypto payments are much reliable and faster than other mode of payments. In terms of inter-planetary payments, I think its easy. Internet is probably available in Mars if humanity migrated there. It would be easy to set it up as well as technology is developing faster than any before.
far-fetched thinking. I think also the main thing that must be there is the human population on the planet mars and the internet network that can connect the two planets. We don't know what it will be like in the future, but it could happen that between the two planets there will be interdependence of businesses, thus triggering transactions

seem far ahead of time really. i wouldn't go that far yet when we haven't even explorer the deepest oceans we have. 100 years later who knows what they would be teaching to our kids maybe the earth is actually flat and all those mars landings are just stunts.

the future of money is blockchain that's for sure, look at Mr. Mukele as he is just trolling even the IMF. if it weren't for Bitcoin, he will still be afraid of the future of his country but with BTC, seem like he can face all sanctions.
2260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some entrepreneurs harvesting biometric data for free crypto on: October 24, 2021, 01:40:35 PM

I just saw some article talk of a silicone valley entrepreneur offering free coins for your iris scan, imagine what or this data collected could affect you and me in this future should you sign up...am certain our governments will be interested parties into such because this is data that can't be easily changed so do such projects have data protection rules and laws to follow and what guarantee is there that they will not sell this data to third parties for their own financial gain??
So the Silicone valley entrepreneur is giving out cryptocurrency and collecting these information and it is strange that there are people who are willing to provide these sensitive information for a few pennies. There is no guarantee that they will not be reselling those information and you cannot take any legal actions against them because you are willfully selling your information.

i'm almost sure they are going to sell the data.

looks like a very bold way of getting data by fooling people to receive a worthless token. this entrepreneur you are saying is a tech company from silicon valley that sounds like a sci-fi enterprise. iris scan is a very secure data actually. a movie Minority Report was quite related to this kind of sci-fi movie in which the iris data are used for authorities to arrest criminals.
