1) Learn to take criticism in a positive way
2) Stop trying to create value out of nothing (manipulating the money supply, dictating others to sell at a certain price, pump and dump, false claims--ie fastest confirmations)--I am serious when I say that the intent there is CRIMINAL in government regulated, established markets. Think about that perception given to potential, future investors. And if decreasing block reward by 3, increased the value by 3? Why stop there? What the hell are all these other coins, including bitcoin, thinking?
3) Focus time and energy on the things that actually add value (ie arbitrage tool, multipool, professional website)

I think it is a positive sign people are still mining this thing after that huge reward drop. I expected a mass exodus. Apparently, there is strong mining support regardless of immediate profitability. Congratulations UTC.

ChaCha is the future. UTC could be the future, but there needs to be some fundamental changes in thinking.

That is all.
Well, why don't you write that in the first place? This describes your concerns in a logical way and it adds a base for discussion.
Sorry for calling you a troll, but your earlier post just seemed like a rant.

ultracaine
potline
hamsters especially for acceleration
lol - ultracaine - is that a super potent form of cocaine, stronger than crack?
potline - the cannabis hotline
The last one is for some sort of bio-mining rig perhaps.
Useless knowledge:
Ultracaine: nope. That's just a local anaesthetic a dentist would use. I think, he put "Ultracain" into the translator instead of "Ultracoin", which would translate to English "Ultracaine" Wink

"Первая всплеск был на ожидании уменьшения награды и подорожания ультрак-О-ина."
==
"The first boom was pending reduce awards and increase ultrac-А-ine"

This is the translator for some reason instead of the letter "O" put the letter "А".
Hehe, thanks. ультрак-О-ина was actually something i could read and pronounce. Started studying Cyrillic alphabet when i was in middle school, just because of interest and because it was listed in one of our books Smiley

Wow wow guys!
GZ block reducing to 15.

Even with 0.10$ per KWt, UTC mining today have negative profit.

At current price(15000sat) we will lose all miners in few days.  Angry
yeah! The miners will have no profit even at 0.0002btc for the difficulty is too high.
I earned 100 utc per day throgh mining for 100K hashrate yesterday, and now i earned only 15 utc per day. The electric bill can not been paid off at this price
Can't this be solved by the miners not selling instantly for a low price, but instead selling higher? Just a thought...

.edit:
Oh, I see. Wasn't the only one with this idea.
2265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: April 27, 2014, 07:53:31 PM
Just started investing in this coin. The thing I like is that there are increasing levels of price support. On the 21st it was right around 0.00006. A couple days later it was around 0.00008. Yesterday it was at 0.00010. Looking like it might find support today at 0.00011.

The only thing that concerns me is the low market cap. Hopefully these increasing price supports will attract more people and bigger investors.
welcome,I'm getting in 100,000 UTC club Smiley

Thanks!

Come on in. The water is fine.
Yeah, welcome, weather and water is fine here. And we don't have no dresscode!

Block target is 30sec, not 6 sec like the threads title says. That's just an example of a very fast block Wink

What about a mycelium based Android wallet? I thought about giving it a try, but i don't have much time at the moment. Maybe we can raise some funds?

Btw, bumface: just saw the Sweden videos on YouTube. Nice! Smiley

Is it right? Huh Huh

lol no more blocks eh? Same on ultra2. God what a shitty coin, dev team. Come to YAC already...
You are a troll, sir.
2270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: April 25, 2014, 08:26:50 PM

#1 it's still cheap
#2 the community is great
#3 the devs are great

All those reasons are good for success.
I don't have my address in my signature, so if any of my answers should win, please donate to the dev team for further great work. Smiley

.edit:
It's actually quite hard to decide which point is 1 or 2 or 3, so they should all be considered #1 Cheesy

Important (at least for me): Where is the updated GNU/Linux client?
I don't see no new commit in the Github repository. Why??

.edit:
Found it: https://github.com/dx11/ultracoin
Not yet over: i did a successful (so i hope) release build, but the client does not really start. It's somewhat stuck at the splash screen since 5 minutes at 100% CPU usage.

Last logfile entry:
Code:
Loading block index...
Last error log entry:
Code:
Database handles still open at environment close
Open database handle: blkindex.dat/main
I think the error log entries can be ignored... probably from the last shutdown of the old version.

Any ideas, anyone?

.edit:
Nevermind. Works fine now, forgot to delete some files. All coins are still there and i'm running 1.0.2 now. Cheesy

Sorry for this question, but i don't have a computer here: i guess that the Linux client can be pulled directly from the Git repository? Will be updating tomorrow...
2274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Newly Launched on: March 16, 2014, 10:39:25 PM
2% premine....so 2,000,000 UTC which is now ~25% of all UTC in circulation.

No thanks. Anyone who wishes to be a part of something with this much centralized control of the supply for little or no work to those hold that 2,000,000 UTC are asking for trouble.

Next.... Roll Eyes
Obviously, you did not even take 5 minutes to read just the first posts of this thread. Is this how you get your post count?
2275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Newly Launched on: March 11, 2014, 09:41:38 AM
Hey guys,

I'll quote myself from #Ultracoin - got some things to mention which might help making UTC bigger:
Quote from: allyourbase
10:36 <+allyourbase> our current plan is to spread the word of UTC, right?
10:37 <+allyourbase> I got an idea which might at least help a bit. We do have so many great things in the UTC forum thread on bitcointalk.org. That's fine and i'm impressed about what users come up with cool stuff
10:38 <+allyourbase> Such as some UTC related graphics; i have seen some very nice things. But this thread has almost 500 pages. Everything on the next page is more or less lost, as only few people have the time to read every single page.
10:38 <+allyourbase> So i think the official forum.ultracoin.net should be used more
10:38 <+allyourbase> All this cool stuff also belongs there
10:39 <+allyourbase> People who get to know about Ultracoin will visit the website as one of their first steps. And if the forum has only few threads, people tend to think "nothing going on here". It's just somewhat an impression which a forum leaves. And also, it's a good place to store all this valuable
                     information. Smiley
What do you think? I'm not talking about abandoning this thread, not at all. Just about also using the forum, where we have better opportunities of sorting the information instead of having everything UTC-related in a single thread. Smiley

.edit:
Another idea i just posted: http://forum.ultracoin.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=52
2276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Newly Launched on: March 09, 2014, 10:19:09 PM
pieterjanvh: just to get you right: when you say "community", do you mean the UTC-community (so we attract more people who are into other coins) or the whole crypto-community (so we get UTC known to people who are maybe totally new to crypto at all)?

I mean the Ultracoin community. I checked with some crypto friends and all they know about UTC is that it's "bumface his coin".
Well, it turned in to a lot more than that! So we need to find ways to inform the whole crypto community. Twitter sure is a good start, but we need more.

It's very easy to buy Ultracoins directly, right now there's crypto-trade and in a few days there's binary fund, which accepts credit cards and paypal.
Maybe I should write a little guide about how to buy ultracoins directly when Binary Fund is back online, but then there's still the question: How do we spread that guide to everyone? Smiley
What's always a good idea imho is to put something in one's signature. Don't know if images are allowed, but even if it's just some ASCII-arty text pointing to the website. People read about UTC when reading other posts and they become more aware of it.

I don't have many posts yet, but i'm posting a bit more in the last days. And i'm willing to put something into my signature, if we get a consensus about how it should look (unique things are easier to remember and thus to become aware of). Smiley

dcgirl: great! I have not yet looked into that, so i have absolutely no idea how it's being done correctly... but thanks for your commitment!

This "Proof of Steak" would have been worth a donation alone, hehe.

By the way: does anyone here know how to implement a donation bot on reddit? Or, can /u/altcointip support UTC? Although an own /u/ltracointip bot would be way cooler Cool

Just in case a lot of people missed it, (I did post it in the middle of the night) I would like to share the fun little video my fiance and I made once more to help promote Ultracoin. Spread it around, and get it to go viral, like the one showing off Ultracoins speed. Feel free to donate if you got a laugh out of our little presentation. Long live UTC!

44.44 UTC from me for your great work!
It's funny and informative. "No dumping" made me laugh. Smiley
