Can someone please explain how to download the new wallet in simple terms. I have wallet.dat backups, but what's with the all the extra update jargon to get the V2 version running. Why can't i just delete the old wallet (saving the wallet.dat) and click on the ultracoin website and install the new wallet with a new qt. Why does the new V2 version not have a qt program. And that damn speedy link you gave looks to be full of added malware crap included. What's up with a simple wallet download link where all I have to do is change out that wallet.dat file?

Step1) Download the new wallet file and extract it somewhere. The only file you will need is the new
         Ultracoin-qt.exe file

Step2) Find the old Ultracoin-qt.exe file and delete it and replace it with the new ultracoin-qt.exe file that you downloaded in  
          step 1

Step3) Then find the folder   "computer name"/appdata/roaming/ultracoin and delete all the files in it ACCEPT the
           wallet.dat file. KEEP THE WALLET.DAT file.

that's it, then just restart the wallet and it will download the whole blockchain again.

The Version 1.0.2.0 download from the official website DOESN'T HAVE a new qt.exe file!

I tried downloading this version and copy and replace it's files over the version 1.0.1.0 files and I get this error:

The only reason I'm doing it this way is because there is no qt.exe in the 1.0.2.0 version. The speedy download has a bunch of malware on it and I don't want to use it.

the only file you must use from the new download is the .exe file, it replaces the old

What is wrong with nitro pool? ultra2 is dead, ultra runs in a weird way, I get only like 1/3 hashrate and not producing any coin with exact same good config.

Please take this in the spirit in which I intend, which is not to criticize but to offer suggestions. What I don't see when I look at this is anything that would make me want to purchase your book. All of this information is easily found on the internet, and many sites can be used as references if you want specifications of a coin.

What I see as missing is: what makes Ultracoin different? what are the goals for the coin? what plans do the UTC team  have? how does UTC make the cryptoworld better? What is our community like and how are they supporting the coin?

I want to walk away from something like this really understanding the "personality" of each coin. Your book would be much more compelling if it gave me that.

I'm swamped at the moment, but perhaps a fading trail to the left of the blocks of the Ultracoin "u" would create the illusion of forward movement (associated with speed).  Nothing dramatic, just a little trail on each block.  Incorporating the black ring behind it would be nice for that constant theme, but it may interfere with the "l" and would need to be played with.  Thanks for considering it.

I completely agree with dcgirl on this.  However, it is your book.  I understand one of your challenges is going to be moving the book fast enough to keep up with the ever-changing altcoin smorgasbord.  Not to mention, researching the facts on each coin is quite time consuming.  Smart move going to the "experts" on this.  I am sure we can get some tidbits from the community to help out.  Otherwise, each chapter of your book would be like reading one of those Bitcoin articles two years ago, wherein the authors knew squat about what they were reporting on.   

I'll start.  Fact: Ultracoin reached nearly one dollar in value (forum help here-but I believe $.99 or .989...) on Crypto-Trade, 7 Feb 2014.  This is the best proof I have...

Not yet over: i did a successful (so i hope) release build, but the client does not really start. It's somewhat stuck at the splash screen since 5 minutes at 100% CPU usage.

Who ever mined today coins on utc.greekpool.eu? I have over the night why that happened just 100 coins, although the pool as before shows that with my speed I should be getting 350 coins. Moreover, in the last hour the number of coins produced has not changed as part of the coins was not yet confirmed and remained unchanged. Yakmayner works as expected and I see that the blocks are processed properly.

What happened? Yakmayner works but no coins are mined. HW no errors.

Does anybody more has problems with the new wallet download ?

I downloaded yesterday the new wallet from the UTC website Ultracoin-release-1.0.2-qt.rar and run file Ultracoin-qt.exe.

The new wallet opened quickly and started automatically synchronize the blocks.  

I placed a UTC quick button on the desktop.

After sync I could send UTC to and from Cryptsy from the new wallet. Everything went well till that moment.

Just one hour ago, one day later, I started my laptop and unfortunately the quick button on the desktop did dent worked anymore and I couldn't open the wallet.

I delete the quick button on the desktop which did dent work anymore and did run again the file Ultracoin-qt.exe.

After the very long start procedure (+12 minutes) the wallet opened and I was happy to see my coins where still in the wallet.

Does anybody has the same experience

So my another 250 coins that I had to get there the day I do not get? And my setup worked in an empty all day in this pool?

The only way to help UTC is  shutting down the nitro1 and nitro2 for 1 weeks or longer,for there are so many orphan blocks in other pools.only the pool which has the majority hashrate has no orphan blocks.
