Why most of atheists here on this forum feel so threatened that they have to attack against religious world view all the time?
Are they so insecure about their own world view? Why they are so scared?  Smiley

I call this the manifestation, clashing of ideologies or philosophies if you like. This is the time we live in. It is happening right now. The clash of light and darkness. What a great time to live in.

Lets see what we have here.

If the light side, was really the dark side... but, they believed they were the light side, because their blood-thirsty sky-god told them that they were the good guys... would they understand my analogy?

For example, someone who concern-trolls about child sacrifice and talks about "bronze age psychopaths" when his chosen avatar is a bronze age idol that was used to burn children alive.

Please tell me you aren't stupid enough to believe that Satanists actually worship Satan...
2363  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Homosexuality is caused by being molested on: February 19, 2016, 10:40:53 PM

This is why I call them hypocrites (and, as you pointed out, so did Jesus)

But since all of Western culture was built on the Bible...

Slow down hoss... who told you that?

America was founded on separation of church and state...

Does it have to be mentioned again that there is no measurable evidence for religion/God?

Seems like BADecker isn't aware of it xD

Quote
A delusion is a belief held with strong conviction despite superior evidence to the contrary. As a pathology, it is distinct from a belief based on false or incomplete information, confabulation, dogma, illusion, or other effects of perception.

Delusions typically occur in the context of neurological or mental illness, although they are not tied to any particular disease and have been found to occur in the context of many pathological states (both physical and mental). However, they are of particular diagnostic importance in psychotic disorders including schizophrenia, paraphrenia, manic episodes of bipolar disorder, and psychotic depression.

It's sad when they can see it.
Actually he's convinced that we're the ones with the delusion.
We should believe in God just in case.
If I were to do all the things that I think should be just in case... It would be hard.

That's why they should be killed.
Because they're is no real possible cohabitation.

The question has to do with where each of us will stand in the resurrection... going to Heaven and life, or going to Hell and spiritual death.

Do you have any evidence for that?

Can you provide the testimony of a person who has died and been resurrected in heaven or hell?  Did they tell you personally, or in a phone call, or send a letter?  Come on man... be specific!
2365  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Atheists Feel So Threatened on: February 19, 2016, 10:33:26 PM

The directives as they are listed in the O.T. are not for Christians. Rather, the directives are spiritual guides for Christians.

Where did you get that idea?  It does not say that in the bible... come on man... back up your claims with a source or reference please

Who are you to determine what is supposed to be taken literally, and which parts are meant as a metaphorical guide?
2366  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Homosexuality is caused by being molested on: February 19, 2016, 10:29:14 PM
I use to be religious, even was preparing to be a preacher, when my religion lost me.

The Pharisees were about to stone a prostitute, Jesus specifically came to her defense (giving us the let he who is without sin quote), turned to her, and told her specifically "There is no one left to condemn you, neither do I"

The exact opposite of what organized religion does with anyone they call a "sinner"

When I tried bringing this to the attention of religious leaders in my church, that we were doing the exact opposite of the example Jesus gave us to do, it is like I was kicked out of the club - and it became clear to me that religion is not about making the world a better place, but is about abusing religious authority as a means of controlling people.

I won't have anything to do with organized religion.

It was a fraud when peace makers like Jesus walked the earth (he constantly clashed with them), and it is a fraud today.

This is why I call them hypocrites (and, as you pointed out, so did Jesus)

Does that make me more Christ-like than Christians?
2367  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Atheists Feel So Threatened on: February 19, 2016, 10:23:43 PM
Atheists feeling threatened? What would we be threatened about? We're not living in the dark ages anymore. You christian guys can go and do whatever you want as long as you've understood the "not bothering people" rule.

The devil knows that God exists. He is afraid. And he has passed that fear down to you, his children. He's got you.

You don't have to stay trapped by the devil. Jesus-faith is available for everyone...

Regarding Bible, to all the Christian fruit cakes, can you point me to any of your pseudo scientific sources that have any proof of who actually
wrote these vile books.  Here is your chance to blame someone else and defend your God.

Nobody actually knows who wrote each book... some are obvious forgeries (the true author is not the person claiming to be the author)... the 4 gospels clearly plagiarized vast sections from each other...

Even the first 4 books, commonly attributed to Moses, are thought to have been written by 4 separate people... mixed together... taking turns writing different lines... it is quite clear when you study the different writing styles:

It also explains the redundancies... like why God repeats the exact same command multiple times... or why God created the universe in Genesis 1, then he does it all over again in the next fucking chapter... (notice chapter 1 is blue and chapter 2 is red?)

Yeah Priests wrote the whole Leviticus, mainly writen in order to explain how to kill everyone...

Ding, Ding, Ding! We have a winner!... Tell him what he's won Johnny!

This is getting more ridiculous...

God tells us He inspired the Holy Bible. Even though the 66 books of the Holy Bible were written over a period of 1,500 years by about 40 authors, each with a personal style, there is an amazing consistency to its message and teaching that displays the ultimate authorship of God (2 Timothy 3:16 ).

So the God tells them he inspired it because people who wrote it said that God inspired it?  Makes sense; like the rest of it.
Fuck me and call me Tracy.

Interesting choice of words there in 2 Timothy...

Quote from: 2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

And in the Middle Ages people were afraid of tomatoes because they were red. We learn and grow. Same thing.

Hahaha... The Middle Ages were not even that long ago... and they used leeches as medicine... to suck that evil blood out of your body... because, yeah, that makes sense...

Then ya think... hmmm... the bible was written 1500+ years BEFORE THE MIDDLE AGES

And is responsible for midle age in fact. Without the Bible there would have been no Midle age when you think about it

Close... without the bible there would be no Dark Ages... though, you could argue that the Dark Ages are the Middle Ages... so I suppose you are partially correct...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Ages_(historiography)

I however, would have preferred to skip the Dark Ages... full of Christians killing everyone... the Crusades... the Inquisition... good times, eh?
Probably only set scientific progress back by 500 years

Well thanks to the Bible doctors thought for 1000 years that women had two vaginas. Anything more to add? ^^

Too many things to list....It is mind boggling.

How do they think the Bible was written?  Angels whispered wisdom to whoever was listening, then those people actually wrote this down?
Or they believe God came down, became human and wrote this down, or the books just appeared?

Seriously, I'd like to know.  Moloch, do you know?  What is the story behind this story.

I'm not clear who actually wrote this shit.

Christians used to believe that God wrote it himself... basically through spirit possession of Moses, etc (nevermind the fact that the bible was put together in 331CE, after some dudes in a dark room voted on which books to include... how can you vote on which books God wrote?)

Then science came along and proved a few things are factually incorrect in the bible...

This led Christians to start calling it, "divinely inspired"... because it can't be God's perfect word if it isn't perfect, right?

Reminds me of Global Warming changing the name to Climate Change... After 14 years of no warming... they had to change the name...
(yeah, I'm one of those guys who doesn't believe CO2 causes global warming... basically for the same reason I deny religion, lack of scientifically acceptable evidence)

Note: Global Warming/Climate Change also uses similar tactics to religion... like, "97% of scientists believe it, so you should too" (hint: this is not an acceptable form of evidence, also a lie... complete lie... twisting of words... that statement is not factually accurate in any way)
2372  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Proof that God exists on: February 19, 2016, 09:25:13 PM
Would any self-respecting God write a book where he kills millions of people (many of them innocent)?

Seriously now... God is the worst supervillian in the bible... Satan kills 1 person, and God kills 10,000,000...

What makes you think God wrote the bible?  Is there any evidence that God wrote it?

Judging by how evil this God character is portrayed in the book... It sounds it was written by his enemy, to make him sound like a murdering lunatic

Is it about laziness?
If atheism is a religion, could laziness be one as well?
BAD Decker - you have the floor. Hit it.

If laziness is a religion then I can become an adept xD

Anyway none of the dumbasses here have ever answered to the original questions. They still never explained why the Earth is flat and square in the Bible...

Or why God thinks the sky is blue because it is made of water... (Genesis chapter 1, day 2)

Ahah, didn't know that. It's a good way to end any logical discussion xD

"God separated the waters above (sky) the firmament (land), from the waters below (oceans) the firmament"

good quotes.. pope and other religious guys should eat their own shit.. and leave us alone..

Fantastic!

I forgot about how tall the Vatican City walls were... what is that?  Around 50 feet tall?

I suppose the pope also forgot that part in the bible where it says... and I quote:

He is referring to Leviticus and the fact that Christians believe Jesus and God are one and the same...

Plus Jesus specifically says, "not a jot or tittle of the law shall change..."

Quote from: The Fucking BIBLE... READ IT
For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

Notice the capital L in Law?  Signifying God's Law (the Old Testament... Leviticus Law), not man's law

Atheists need to start referring to bible thumpers as "Leviticus Law" believers... like how they condemn "Sharia Law", lets do the same with "Leviticus Law"

You are making things out of your head. Jesus never said anything like that. You are lying and acting scared

Hello?... McFly?

Did you read my quote from, "The Fucking BIBLE... READ IT"?  I know I didn't give the book, chapter and verse, but it is from Matthew 5:18... look it up (you could have just googled the words)

Well, I, for one, think that everything is about money so these things won't stop. Bitcoin or not. Sadly...

That is one of the few things that the bible got right...

Quote from: 1 Timothy 6:10-11
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
But thou, O man of God, flee these things...
Quote from: Matthew 19:24
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Unfortunately, preachers haven't read the bible...
