2361  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: calculating fees to purchase BTC to match USD on: May 09, 2019, 07:18:56 PM
Well in crypto buy and sell or trading there is really no rule of thumb as long as you are satisfied in what he/she is offering. You must ask yourself if you are satisfied with a 53$ deficit or you think yourself that you are getting lowballed by his offer. In my own opinion and if I was offered by that amount I'll try to close it in to as much as I can to go near to the 450$ I have let say around 420-430$ worth of Bitcoin which I think would be a good offer since it's just around 5-7% loss in value, 53$ is in the pricier and for me as its above 10%.
2362  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: how to report bitcoin earnings on: May 09, 2019, 06:29:41 PM
Tough call. As a freelancer myself, and have received bitcoins as well for some payments, I just declared it as a normal income tax since freelancers like me are deemed as employed still. It's as easy as that, though the process is somewhat taxing and time-consuming. I can always opt to not pay taxes because I am not forced or obliged to, but then again I'm doing this in order to not get complications as time passes by. It might be different from your country but AFAIK and have read, freelancers are considered as employees still. It only gets tricky because some countries recognize bitcoin as an asset/property and some consider it as a currency.
Wouldn't that require you to state that you are employed and name your employer and the company you are working with? Because if he is fully aware of the taxes on his potential gains will be I don't think that he need to undergo a new process. He just wants to clarify things if what he knows is right and I think he got it all covered already. I just don't think your method will be safe if they suddenly asked you for a proof of employment and other documents supporting your claim that you are currently "employed"  even though you are really self-employed.
2363  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beware when trading @ Kryptono - Stealing your identity? on: May 09, 2019, 03:31:12 PM
This might not be the most pleasant of ways to ask for KYC as they made you feel as if you were trap on something but you should be happy that they are asking for KYC, it only means that they are following the the requirements of the law. If they are legally operating and is a registered company then asking for a KYC is one of the given requirements for their exchange. You won't see any stock or foreign exchange broker having an "anonymous" feature because all of them are running under the government legally.
2364  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-08] Hackers Are Shuffling Binance’s Stolen Bitcoin on: May 09, 2019, 02:39:20 PM
I'm getting worried about that if things got out of hand authorities will have the idea to freeze wallet accounts that have touch these stolen coins. Which will surely affect a lot of people whobare unaware that the coins they have received recently are from the hack. I'm just talking about hypotheticals here but this has been talked recently in the past and I think this is their only plausible way to catch up to hackers right after they have stolen the funds. After all recovery of the stolen cryptos is what them and the victims are after.
2365  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Coinbound Podcast - Marketing in the age of cryptocurrencies and blockchain on: May 08, 2019, 09:10:07 PM
Listened to your podcast's episode 2 in Spotify and I got to say that I have learned some points that I never though of in Content Marketing. On the podcast itself I think your method where you interview and ask your guess is the right way to go on getting straight answer and I think the big reason for that is your guess knows what he is talking about, will this be a regular thing with him or will you have different speakers per episode?
2366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit and tainted coins on: May 08, 2019, 07:38:15 PM
The other thing is, who decides which coins are tainted and which not. How does someone make Coins tainted, has everyone the same right to declare bitcoin as tainted?
I think the authorities are the ones who flagged coins who are stolen or not and this could be a lot of problem if they implemented something like this. I have read news that authorities can go as far as holding your account or freezing them to literally just confiscating them until you have proven the origin of your tokens. This could be a very problematic thing to do for a lot of people since they don't think of documenting each transaction they have. Another thing to point out too is people who are sending you "tainted coins" might not even be aware that they are tainted in the first place so technically anyone could be a target here once this has been implemented.
2367  Other / Meta / Re: Cryptios on: May 08, 2019, 06:46:33 PM
Does Cryptios have any thread with regards to their account recovery or sort of a list for their attempts here in the forum? If they don't have one yet I think they should because it would be great to see how they have successfully (or fail) on every account they try to to recover. Another thing is that it will be an added transparency other forum members will be interested to see.
2368  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-08] PayPal Skips Bitcoin While 'Clearly Working on Blockchain & Crypto' on: May 08, 2019, 04:37:38 PM
They are taking on the same route just like what other big companies are doing theydid the exact move from JP Morgan and Visa on being interested to cryptocurrencies while Bitcoin is left out if the picture. It seems like they are just too afraid to swallow their pride and admit their defeat on the other way around. Them being a payment processing company would likely have their own version of cryptocurrency that can be uses to replace their paypal funds the other thing I see is of course the implementarion of blockchain into their existing business model.
2369  Economy / Economics / Re: How does exchanges work? on: May 08, 2019, 03:26:43 PM
Theybare just the same to other traditional financial markets we already have like the stock amrket and the forex market. They are counted as only the brokers of the platform we are using and their jobs is to posts the buy and sell orders as well as match them for a fee. Even KYC is now a requirement for crypto exchange ever since the government has taken part with the industry. The only different thing I see is how cryptobexchanges put up their altcoins available as compared to stocks in the stock market. Compared to the stock market the ICO of an altcoin doesn't need to happen in that exchange as it can be made available in their platform even after the ICO has happened.
2370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2018-2019 on: May 08, 2019, 02:46:53 PM
There are days when you feel like things aren't working out for your team when it really shouldn't be happening and I think that was  what happened to Barcelona. All the 4 goals you will see from Liverpool wi make you feel like Barcelona was outsmarted in all of them most of them aren't even contested when they jave scored that goal. During the match I cannot see any spirit to win wth Barca and they might got too comfortable with their early lead at the 1st leg that is why they got careless in this match.
2371  Economy / Speculation / Re: China mining decision May 7 on: May 07, 2019, 08:29:42 PM
Just remember that if China bans mining all through out their country some of their companies might be affected. For those of you who don't know Bitmain and Innosilicon one of the leading manufacturers of mining equipment in the world are domestic companies in China, if they ban mining then this manufacturers might set up shop on other countries who are interested in mining. It will be China's lost and they maybe need to think twice before doing anything like this. For the OP before you even think about BTC's price crashing you need to consider the fact that if the hashrate fell the level of difficulty will also go down, this is sort of the way on balancing out the loss hashrate in the process if mining will ever be banned in China.
2372  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Could Hit The $6,000 Benchmark Soon on: May 07, 2019, 07:45:06 PM
Before we even think about aiming higher prices the 6,000$ level might be more important than you think that it may even depend on whether or not your expected target price will be possible. You should remember that last year after BTC decided to go down below 6,000$ it immediately plummeted to the 3,000$ level so 6k was a very important support that became a major resistance for us which if we don't break and have failed doing it we might just extend the bear cycle or even go beyond the 3,000$ level.

But that massive drop you are talking about was due to the hashwar of BCH and BSV. Bitcoin has doing to do with it, we are trading sideways that time but it's very unfortunately that we are in the middle of their war that's why we suffer and the price goes down.

So we can't compare the $6k price last year as reaching $6k at this current sentiments. This time the market or the investors are shelling and ready to pour cash on the market.
Is it really the reason why? Last time I checked everytime Bitcoin drops (goes up) suddenly all mews sites will try to connect everything to make an article. And just in case you haven't notice BTC since late December 2017 has been in the bear market and really you cannot pinpoint the exact reason why its falling down except for the reason of it being in the bear market. Even if the news is directly connected to it dropping it doesn't change the fact that while BTC is consolidating around the 6,000$ level it dropped on a major support does making it a major resistance on our way up.
2373  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get notified when someone mentions your name on bitcointalk.! on: May 07, 2019, 06:48:05 PM
Now people don't need to go to their post history and scroll down a page or two to see if someone has replied/quoted their message. For newbies if you are looking for a healthy conversation I think this one will be helpful for you since you won't be left out or you won't let someone hanging waiting for your reply. Honestly I just knew this now and I know others are feeling the same way when their post got left out without someone replying to them so if you are really interested in the topic just link the thread to Maggiordomo via PM with the subject "subscribe" and you will be notified with replies to you.
2374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Could Hit The $6,000 Benchmark Soon on: May 06, 2019, 09:04:50 PM
$6k is too small a price for the bitcoin, I expect it to go higher. I was thinking it should have hit $6k last week but it corrected back.

2375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be considered a Religion? on: May 06, 2019, 08:27:52 PM
Well let me give you a different scenario. For the sake of an example let's assume that you are one of the Los Angeles Lakers' fans and all of you "believe" in your team that they will be champions once again will that make your Lakers team a religion to yourself? Of course not even if you believe and worship your team it doesn't make them your religion it doesn't give you the belif that something up above is higher from us, and it doesn't make us believe that something is right or wrong on how the world needs to work. Believing on a material thing is entirely different on believing in faith.
2376  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-05] Warren Buffett Calls Bitcoin A Gambling Device on: May 06, 2019, 07:07:48 PM
Just to make things a little clear for members here before you judge and say Warren Buffett is a nocoiner. Buffett today announced that he won't be participating Uber's anticipated IPO as well as with other IPOs in the past with this news it says a lot on what Buffett's investment style is. Just like cryptocurrencies an IPO doesn't have any assurances on where will it go on the opening day Buffett himself doesn't know where Uber will land when the market will close. He is one of those guys that are not risk takers and wants assurances with their money which he won't really get to any crypto in the market.
2377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Central Banks in the Age of Blockchains on: May 06, 2019, 06:14:15 PM
With this even being headed by the central bank and the IMF itself I think we can consider this overall as a good news for us. Because we know that these two big institutions will give a big recognition to the banking industry and maybe for some under central banks from other countries themselves. What I am really after from this kinds of events are the expected international policies they plan to make since a lot of countries will try to replicate it into their own country. Besides that a better understanding being given by this event will further clarify a lot of misinformation that has been existing for years now which has been hurting potential investors from these countries.
2378  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit abuse of DayTrader27 and krack-r on: May 06, 2019, 04:20:05 PM
There is really not a lot to work on since only one exchange has happened we haven't seen both of them having at least one kind of merit exchange to one another. Another thing is that both of them really don have any connection at all except for that one merit transaction that happened. If we only judge merit abuse through this way then members could just at least send 10 merits to incriminate and give a negative feedback to the receivers which I think would be an unfair and unjust way to give them a negative feedback.
2379  Economy / Economics / Re: Brexit what effects will this have on cryptocurrency? on: May 06, 2019, 03:14:11 PM
So I guess we already know the answer by now that Brexit didn't do anything in the crypto market. Great Britain isn't even a crypto friendly country to begin with so even if they pulled out from the market we cannot see any major influence from them not being part of the market.  From the last 30-45 days we have seen Bitcoin impressively go up back up above 5,000$ which was in the range of the Brexit an we obiously saw that nothing really happened related to that. The crypto market's price movement right now is more of its technical side rather than  news and speculation.
2380  Other / Meta / Re: How forum detect automated translation? on: May 05, 2019, 08:28:46 PM
If we are talking about other languages translated to English literally anyone can spot the grammar mistakes of a word for word translated text, if someone has detected the text then the user can always report it, either way users found this way are either plagiarizing or just posting in English-language topics. If we are talking about English text translated to foreign languages it's the same thing since any native language user can detect the awful translation and report it right away.
