1581  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Kraken sued by ex-employee on: December 18, 2019, 11:58:27 PM
This will just be a walk in the park for any prosecutor holding this case since if everything check in woth what he is saying Kraken will be found guilty of illegaly operating in those countries. Proving that they have customers in those country is also easy since they will have records of it found both inside Kraken's database. Aside from that cases like this where too many moving pieces are involved is hard to cover up and I don't think Kraken's lawyers will have a lot of excuses to used in where Runyon is not the only evidence/witness against them.
1582  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Verified, unalterable historical record via blockchain? may already exist? on: December 18, 2019, 01:04:45 PM
and obviously there's issues with why would people bother to mine it and build the blockchain - i don't mean this as some kind of "TruthCoin" - not to mention who'd manage it to determine what goes into the record.

It's seems like you are building this thought on the assumption of that everything that has blockchain requires a certain type of cryptocurrency to function and put on transactions and records to it. Well it's not the case and not all blockchain has cryptocurrencies involved more specifically the ones that are created by companies who just want to take advantage of blockchain technology. So the "mining" process you might be talking about will not be mined by us but the ones who are running the process which in your case is like an archive for the history which I think for most of the countries will be handled by the government.
1583  Other / Meta / Re: Reducing (removing) airdropped merits for those who didn't earn 1 single merit on: December 18, 2019, 12:15:41 PM
Yeah that's what I am telling that this could do more bad rather than good since either way the ones who will be abusing the merit system won't be affected by the changes at all the only ones who will be are either inactive accounts or accounts who won't be buying any merits.
I don't think that's true.

When theymos introduced the "1 merit for Junior Member" (and therefore a signature) requirement, there was a noticeable and measurable reduction in spam over the following weeks: The new rule (1 Merit for Jr. Member) is already reducing spam. This is despite all the merit selling and awarding to alt accounts that went on. There would be presumably be less merit selling and alt accounts now, since a lot of accounts involved in this will have used up much of their airdropped sMerits, without earning any more.

I get your point but if you look at the proposal at the top where users are required to at least earn 1 merit on a certain period just to avoid the decay of their merits you will understand that this will be a lucrative business for merit sellers, some normal member might even be merit sellers because of this idea. Yes this might encourage people to finally share their merits as well but like I said this will also encourage members to sell their extra merits for cash which will increase because of this proposal.
1584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: December 18, 2019, 10:31:58 AM
If we are basing who would win based on the previous match I will be choosing Wilder to win this second bout especially if you consider that he knocked down Fury twice one of which Fury was lucky to be standing in. Fury might have dominated the entirety of the match but with Wilder's power and endurance you know the match can stop at anytime when Wilder wants it to happen. I also like Wider to win solely because it makes his chances facing AJ more higher and that match is something I would like to see especially when both boxers have beef with each other and have dodge each other for a long time now. This time they will be two top heavyweights facing each other in the ring and it will be bigger than AJ vs. Ruiz 2.
1585  Other / Meta / Re: Reducing (removing) airdropped merits for those who didn't earn 1 single merit on: December 18, 2019, 08:55:21 AM
Can you imagine the amount of merit selling will happen once theymos will drop a bomb for something like this? Once the news will come flying that there is another change in the merit system for the ones who haven't earned a single merit
Of course, he wouldn't have to announce the move before making changes  Grin
That announcement would definitely cause a lot of panic and merit selling among account farmers prior to the changes

Yeah that's what I am telling that this could do more bad rather than good since either way the ones who will be abusing the merit system won't be affected by the changes at all the only ones who will be are either inactive accounts or accounts who won't be buying any merits. So if this would happen I think the best thing to do is to apply the changes first before theymos will be announcing anything about the changes which I think will be the best approach to prevent merit abuse from happening.
1586  Other / Meta / Re: Reducing (removing) airdropped merits for those who didn't earn 1 single merit on: December 17, 2019, 07:39:00 PM
Can you imagine the amount of merit selling will happen once theymos will drop a bomb for something like this? Once the news will come flying that there is another change in the merit system for the ones who haven't earned a single merit I can only imagine the same thing that has happened when theymos required 1 merit for newbies to rank up, suddenly a lot of newbies are insanely getting a lot of merits. Of course the only ones who will be affected here are the ones who aren't buying merits or who don't have any alt accounts to send them back merits either way it will really just affect a few persons here.
1587  Economy / Reputation / Re: Btc auction, suspicious behaviour of lotsofbitcoins. on: December 17, 2019, 06:53:32 PM
When we think about this business wise you won't see any way an exchange service like this will earn anything for a 27% discount. They are offering half a Bitcoin for less than 3/4 of it's value and I don't think they'll earn anything from that not unless they are just trying to scam you for 2,525$. Added with what others have posted earlier I don't think that this website/service can be trusted by any amount of money. Even their offer for .025 BTC for 164 (.025BTC is currently price at 167$) is not to be trusted.
1588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin: We've sold around 70,000 ETH at All-time High on: December 16, 2019, 08:45:15 PM
For people thinking that the devs don't believe their own cryptocurrency just because they are selling their own crypto then think again. Ethereum Foundation is a non-profit organization and them holding ETH and selling them no matter what the price is just one of their ways to earn some cash to fund their own projects. I don't see this as a negative news for Vitalik and ETH since they are only just taking advantage of the price that time and I don't think 70,000 ETH can trigger some kind of correction or influence in the market when it happened.
1589  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: telegram channel with bot on: December 16, 2019, 07:46:58 PM
Trading signal channels in Telegram are really not good for your money since what they are doing is either post a pump and dump coin or just promote their “premium” channel which you need to pay either one will just make you lose more money in the process since they are just only thinking about their profits and not really about helping you. My advice is for you to learn actual technical analysis and do your own analysis for any trade since it is really better to trust what you have learned then just follow what they are suggesting blindly.

Now that's what we need to learn, technical analysis, it needs to be learned if you are serious in understanding, you will understand, I have also been offered to join premium signals with the notes that I have to pay every month, but I reject the offer and I want to really learn from analysis own technique.
In trading it takes time to understand and don't continue to rely on premium signals to trade.

Even if you are in these "premium signals" as a member I still don't advise for you to follow them blindly since you also need to know why that signal/advice is given. Just by following them without doing any background research you wouldn't know if what they are giving you is just a pump and dump advice or a uneducated guest given for their subscribers hoping that it will be a hit. So really with TA you can also do your own analysis with what they are trying to give you.
1590  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Safety first before trading on: December 16, 2019, 06:48:19 PM
If this was an article about "how to trade in the crypto market" then this will be one of the worst things for a newbie to read on it. Market cap and trading volume isn't even one of the basic things you need for analyzing a trade and stop losses and target prices is something you should have to learn after you have known the basics because you won't really know how to use it if you don't even know how to earn in the crypto industry. Aside from how to analyze a price chart in the crypto industry I think it is important to talk about before entering the crypto market is the crypto exchange where you want to trade in, since not all crypto exchanges are trustworthy both for your money as well as the information they are giving so I think this should be included in the article.
1591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Global Debt to be Worth $12 Million per Bitcoin by Year End on: December 16, 2019, 06:01:44 PM
This dude literally just multiplied 21,000,000 Bitcoin (supply of Bitcoin) to 12 million US dollar just to come up with the estimated 255 trillion dollars debt which I think is totally irrelevant. Since like what others have previously said debt doesn't translate to anything about valuing Bitcoin let alone determine any kind of increase in demand. I really get disappointed a lot seeing authors of articles like this creating non sense topics just to relate it to Bitcoin or anything in the crypto industry since it misinforms the public and the rest of their readers about something they really don't know, chances are some of their readers already will believe that 12 million USD will be the next price target for Bitcoin.

1593  Economy / Economics / Re: WARNING: The central banks are currently manipulating the S&P 500 right now. on: December 16, 2019, 02:36:06 PM
Central banks? Or do you mean investment banks or financial institutions that normally invest in the market? If that so I think you know the answer is that it's normal since technically investment banks are the whales of the stock market and forex and they would use their money to influence the prices. Central banks on the other hand from what I know can still do the same, they are still allowed to invest directly or through these investment banks but either way if they are only using their money to do it then it's not their fault that the prices are influenced by them.
1594  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-14] Billionaires Buying Bitcoin: Bill Pulte Announces 11 BTC Purchase on: December 15, 2019, 09:13:40 PM
and he is only bought 11 BTC, how is that going to help the poor?

when its billionaire that buys BTC its always in my thoughts that the guy wanna evade tax lol i hope i'm wrong. i'm sure this isn't his first time buying BTC. the billionaires in the planet are often discussing how much their stocks grew and all everyday with billionaire friends. he must have learned btc to few long time ago like draper.

You don't think 11 BTC isn't enough yet you are trying to connect the same 11 BTC as a means of tax evasion? Are you some kind of one dimensional person only thinking that billionaires have one motive and that's to avoid paying taxes and be greedy with their own money? Pulte already has a charitable organization under him before he has the intention of having BTC as means of donation so I won't be surprised that he just bought Bitcoin just a means of transferring the donation efficiently on countries in Africa. My advice for you is to don't judge someone for something bad if you really don't have any evidence against them.
1595  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CEO - Leon Song - hypetoken on: December 15, 2019, 08:18:48 PM
Have you confirmed the identity of the rest of teams? If not even though they haven't deleted their accounts I still feel that they are fake people that's why they are not deleting it yet. Also I still can see Leon Song's Linkedin account and the only thing deleted is his picture so maybe he is the only one using his real identity here and he only deleted his pic in the hopes of covering his tracks.

I had him to post to me from his Linkendin, facebook etc. Pictures was same. With other persons. 100 of pictures. All was looking OK to me.
But all is weird and incomprehensible for me right now. I don't understand anything now.

Next week I will contact a few places where he made KYC. Hope I can get more details.

Even if he has hundreds of pictures in his account there is still a possibility that the account itself is from a "poser" in short a fake person and they might just be doing this to mislead you from the real culprits. At this point without anything to track on aside from their IP addresses and deleted accounts you literally have no resources for you to find them without the help from the authorities. So I think the best approach for this is for you to gather all the victims as you can and file an official complaint to the authorities for you to have a much needed help against this case. That's the only time you will have more answers and possibly find the ones who are really responsible for the scam.
1596  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't Look For Better Prices When Choosing an Exchange on: December 15, 2019, 07:21:45 PM
That's the problem with newbies being too adventurous when it comes to choosing an exchange. They often pick not only the best prices but also the lowest fees and rates since they are always looking for the best bang for their buck yet they completely remove the possibility that something isn't right or not even question themselves why this exchange can offer such high/low prices compared to the trustworthy ones. Which only lead them on either being scammed or their orders not being matched. I know that you want to maximize the earnings for your hard earned money but sometimes going to the well known ones is the safest thing to do.
1597  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Quadriga: Lawyers for users of bankrupt crypto firm seek exhumation of founder on: December 15, 2019, 06:19:27 PM
I'm not against it per se but I think they are just doing this as a matter of delaying the process for the recovery. Determining/confirming his identity should be out of the question here as already faking his own death is out of the possibility here knowing his cause of death is also irrelevant even if they found out that it was suicide or someone murdered him the thing is the liability of QuadrigaCX  is still there, basically nothing will change on what they are asking so this is just a matter of delaying the damages for their clients.

1599  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Checkers - Play checkers competitively placing bets on: December 15, 2019, 03:30:05 PM
The game based from the images looks bearable at this point but my main concern about betting games like this is they do need to have a license first before they legally operate in a betting game. So my question is are you already licensed and if you are what is the jurisdiction that grant license for you? Since I didn't see any mention about the legality of your game I am presuming that you are still unlicensed for it so I think you should also manage some time in getting it before you even try to make your website officially running.

Thanks for reply. I would not say, "Bearable", There is some more progress than in the pictures.

And about the license, you are right, I'm not an legal expert, but I had in mind no license, not sure if it's needed since, it's not gambling nor "real betting", it's not like sport where you bet for a team, or you gamble against the casino, not sure if this applies here, here in Spain cryptocurrency is not considered as a currency. Maybe there could be a legal void to workaround? Like using different terms, or buying something in the website that allows you to play, something like coins that have 1:1 value tied to bitcoin, not sure.

I would stop you right there. Any game that involves players putting some money on it to win is considered as gambling. No matter what you call it may it be as a wager, bet, or prize money it still counts as gambling and you need a gambling license to legally operate your Checkers game. Now I would understand if players doing side bets externally from your website but if bets/wagers are done internally which involves the use of your website then it counts as gambling. You may also think that “Checkers” might not be a normal game for gambling that's why you think there is a exemption but the thing about gambling is it involves money and that's it.
