1381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to easily keep track of ETH wallets/transactions/tokens on: February 22, 2020, 07:41:54 PM
There is also this Telegram bot @ETHtokenExplorer_bot where you can get transaction notifications  Smiley You can avoid using your email address to receive notifications.

I'll rather use a throwaway email address for the purposes of keeping track my transactions rather than using a Telegram channel to do so, just to avoid using the app entirely. Other than that bitmover's suggestion is actually nice if you are just keeping track of a few amounts of Erc-20 tokens and avoiding using your email. I know that this is still a bot service and you can't talk to other people but would you really trust the data you are giving in on this bot service rather than the website of Etherscan itself?
1382  Economy / Speculation / Re: One satoshi for $1 dollar will occur someday on: February 22, 2020, 06:27:44 PM
Bro don't get over your head with the optimism you got. Multiplying all the Bitcoins we have to a dollar value on each Satoshi it have we are talking about a 2.1 Quadrillion dollar industry here which in a sense hasn't even achieved by the richest men in the world, even if you combined all their wealth together they won't have enough money to much the value of the market you are speaking about. Now not unless USD has undergone extreme hyperinflation like what Venezuela experienced I don't think that this 2.1 Quadrillion market cap is achievable by any standard. The situation I have given above is the only possible scenario I see that 1 Satoshi will be equal to a dollar someday
1383  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk - Problems of accessing in Turkey on: February 19, 2020, 09:07:23 PM
Since only a few Turkish members here are answering in your thread I think it would be better if you created this thread in the Turkish local board to see if you have a similar situation to other members. Kalemder and iasenko gave you two different answers so maybe having some other voices in the Turkish board could help clear more things out. But judging how I see things I think that BCT is IP blocked by your country since you are using a proxy right now to access the website it only tells that BCT is somehow restricted in your country
1384  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which VPN to pick? on: February 19, 2020, 08:06:28 PM
This setupVPN extension is NOT a good VPN.
Please research what 'good VPN' means before you trust some random extension and 'feedback'.
They log and track everything you do online.

Additionally, they're US company where US government could ask the company to hand over your data anytime.

Wouldn't that be some kind of violation when it comes to privacy and security. I mean technically they are bound by some kind of service-client privilege where they are availing a service for privacy and secrecy and you mean the US government have some kind of power to just ask them to hand their data over? I don't think so, by having this kind of loophole I think nobody will be availing VPNs especially the ones located in the US. I don't think they have this kind of power at all not unless these VPN companies have some kind of agreement with the authorities before hand that they can hand over data anytime the government as them to do so. Also for people suggesting free VPNs you are wrong with this one, since even if they let you access restricted websites the data they get from you is being sold for profit, the essence of having a VPN for the sake of privacy is absent.
1385  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Localbitcoin Not allowing the Withdraw on: February 19, 2020, 06:59:42 PM
Apparently you aren't the only one having issues with their verification process. This user in Reddit posted that his documents have already been denied twice by their verification process and maybe this is a system wide problem for them since aside from people having trouble verifying their accounts there are also users who are still locked out from their accounts until now. And without any real updates directly from LocalBitcoins (since they also suspended countries quietly) I wouldn't expect them to have their process improve in any time soon.
1386  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Mining shipping container location on: February 19, 2020, 06:06:28 PM
How big will the operation be? If we are only talking about a few miners maybe 10 or less and you'll just be the one operating it I think there will be no problem about that since you can just be living in that area doing some mining at your home. But if we are talking about you having a big mining farm where you have other men running and maintaining your operations this is where you will get some red flags in your operation, we are talking about a operation in a residential area here and that requires a special permit for you to operate since they need to see if the business you are doing can be bearable to the ones near you. Being a public nuisance here is one of the things you need to worry about especially if you mess up things or people will be irritated with your mining operations. One or two complaints about you with your fellow neighbor could mean a strike out for your.
1387  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What tools are not enough for you to interact with cryptocurrency? on: February 19, 2020, 04:39:05 PM
If I'll be looking for a new tool I'll be looking forward for an improved version of tradingview for cryptocurrencies. Now tradingview is already a good site to create your own technical analysis and view the analysis of other people the only bad thing is there is a lot of toxic people you will see in the community saying negative things to traders who have different views with them, it simply ruins the formality of the site. Maybe a similar tool to tradingview with proper moderation is something that people would want here.
1388  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: AML Compliance Specialist for centralized cryptoexchange on: February 19, 2020, 03:52:23 PM
~snip~
This hit the nail on the head perfectly.

@OP if you look at the examples you gave for freelance sites you'll notice all of them are "specialties" but none of them are regulated. You don't find a CPA / accountant on a freelance site so you wouldn't find legal, medical or compliance people off of it. Now there might be some people that do this, or are qualified but the vast majority of people on these types of sites are more along the trade routes (design, programming etc.)

You go to the home depot parking lot for labor not for legal advise =)

Well I think the OP is looking for a job and I must say he might be looking at it in the wrong place since you'll barely find professional services related to legal counseling and also accounting services in the freelance market. These types of jobs are made available directly in their website like what I jave provided or to some profer job hunting websites like Linkedin where most professional jobs are seen. @OP if you are looking for a job related to what you have graduated in you must just go to Linkedin and no crypto-related job hunting websites.
1389  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: London cashless transactions on: February 18, 2020, 09:09:57 PM
-snip-

It's being some time since I last used their ATMs, but IIRC the limits were high (~1500 GBP per day).

Also, KYC is pretty easy to avoid here. If you think you're going to exceed the limits, just change the phone number you're using.

Well if that is the case the OP can make this the option as long as the rates of Bitcoin ATMs are close to the market value (are they?) he can always make this the most convenient way of cashing out. But what about legal concerns? Is this something the OP need to worry about? Since he mentioned that he recently moved to London so I'm guessing that he has no job and the authorities might question where his money is coming from, he might touch some violations with regards to AML procedures if he did cash out BTC in Bitcoin ATMs regularly.
1390  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is franky1 making libellous statements about BitRefill? on: February 18, 2020, 08:29:49 PM
It's libelous there is no doubt about it, but can him constitute a libel? I don't think so, in order for it to become libel other users must believe what he is saying and Bitrefill's reputation is actually being damaged by it or actually cause harm with their business. Him being a known troll in the forum simply makes him unbelievable in the first place and judging how the thread is going I don't think a lot of people have read or even care with what they are talking about. Not until Bitrefill's revenue are affected and they have connected that franky1's statement is the reason why it is happening I don't think anyone can file a libel claim against him.
1391  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: AML Compliance Specialist for centralized cryptoexchange on: February 18, 2020, 07:22:50 PM
They do, crypto exchanges are still companies in terms of their legality and companies have different departments for them to be able to run properly in the market. Their marketing department handles all the sales and promotions, there are tech and R&D departments that higher developers, there are support department that handle their clients' concerns, and of course a fraud assessment team as well as legal department to handle any issues on the legal side as well as KYC requirements. I do believe that people who just hire freelances to handle the legal stuff are careless and should be avoided, why? Because would you even trust a crypto exchange knowing that their KYC verification is handled by a outsource help? Of course not, they should have an own department that handles it.

If you want more convincing just search a centralized exchange's name in Google and add "Careers" at the end and you will see that they are hiring different positions related to Legal & Compliance.

I did the Coinbase's career page for you as an example.
1392  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: London cashless transactions on: February 18, 2020, 06:29:22 PM
1. Use Bitcoin ATMs. There are many in London. The fees are a bit high compared to exchanges but it's a great solution if you're in a hurry. I suggest using BitAccess ATMs, I've used them multiples times in the past, and I had a very good experience.

From what I know even Bitcoin ATMs in the UK require KYC or else their service will just be limited to the people who are transacting without any KYC. I did a little research about BitAccess ATMs and also they require KYC for their transactions so I think this option isn't really what the OP is looking for. Fpr the OP I think the best option for you is to exchange your Bitcoin P2P since this will be the only viable way I see you can exchange your crypto without any additional KYC requirement involved. Now I don't know how you'll be able to get in touch with them in the UK but maybe you can start by asking someone here in the currency exchange section. Also localbitcoins is not an option anymore since they recently became a KYC compliant company.
1393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins Regularization in Different Countries on: February 18, 2020, 05:45:47 PM
source

Dear Community in 2020 How many chances of Bitcoins Regularization in Different Countries.
Bitcoin Has now more than 10 Years old. But in most of the countries it is still illegal.Due to Government Behaviour most

So tell me which part of that map is showing that Bitcoin is illegal in most countries when in fact its legal in most countries including the developed ones. Every time someone here in the forum is posting about Bitcoin being illegal I always remember this map that says exactly the opposite of what they believe. Bitcoin being illegal is something brought by crypto news websites and people creating bad articles, opinion, and misleading headlines that's why in the perspective of many Bitcoin is indeed illegal when in fact it's not. If I were you I'll spend more time doing on my own research and background checks before I start believing in anything what I always just see in the internet.
1394  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Any idea why some exchanges keep coins in perpetual maintenance mode? on: February 18, 2020, 04:38:11 PM
The answer will vary by exchange to exchanges since they will always jave different answers for you. There are a lot of possibilities here from the crypto on the verge of delisting to them not having enough demand for the crypto. One way to know the reason why RDD remains in maintenance mode is directly asking their customer support, but before you do that I think reading in some announcements and posts from them will give you some answers you are looking for or ask someone you know is trading in that exchange if they have seen any announcement for RDD.
1395  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-02-16] China Shows Why Bitcoin (BTC) Is Important by Quarantining Its Bank on: February 18, 2020, 02:48:50 PM
No government in the world will ever decide to replace cash with Bitcoin because of germs, they will be pushing for payment cards instead. And after they will successfully drive out all cash, they will start fighting Bitcoin. So, I view any negative news about cash as bad news for Bitcoin.

But with the way I see things are I don't any see hidden plans from China that they'll be pushing out Bitcoin in their industry, its just that they are simply favoring more their other digitized payments in WeChat pay and Ali Pay since this are the ones they can fully control once their country goes cashless. Other reasons I see why they can't get rid of Bitcoin is it is one of the industries that help their country's economy. The leading manufacturers of mining rigs are in China they also have Bitcoin mining farms that has a huge control of our hashrate. The Chinese government isn't dumb enough to cut off one of their income all for nothing.
1396  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin good for the economy? on: February 17, 2020, 10:02:09 PM
Lets just go down to the basics of how economy works for a country. If Bitcoin as some kind of payment for their citizens to earn in exchange for their service, jobs, or business then it will definitely help an economy of a country. The influx of money entering the country alone means that their country is having a portion of the limited supply of Bitcoin the government also doesn't need to print out more of their fiat currency as Bitcoin can also be used as money. As long as that country's citizens are earning from Bitcoin directly or indirectly it safe to say that Bitcoin is helping a country's economy grow.
1397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: February 17, 2020, 09:01:00 PM
The problem Madrid faces is who to sell isco to, because nobody shows interest

Well they can always offer Isco on a giveaway price like what Tottenham did to Christian Eriksen when they really don't have any choice but to sell him since he is on an expiring contract. For clubs with unwanted players this is there only choice for them to salvage any value from the players they want to part with. Plus I don't think that Pogba for the price with what Man United is asking would be a game changer Real Madrid is looking for I mean they still have Toni Kroos and and a young star at Valverde. They are better off continuing with buying young prospects for their future like what they did when they bought Rodrygo and Junior from Brazil.
1398  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-02-16] China Shows Why Bitcoin (BTC) Is Important by Quarantining Its Bank on: February 17, 2020, 08:20:44 PM
Isn't China the one planning to digitized their payments by more than half in the coming years with WeChat Pay and Alipay? The article already pointed it out that China is already heading into a cashless society with the use of the payment processors I mentioned. This will be just there solution to fight back the outbreak they are experiencing right now but I know this isn't their solution in the long run since they are already planning ahead in the digital market. Instead of focusing on cryptocurrencies they know they can't fully control the Chinese government is planning to digitized payments with payment processors from their own Chinese companies. And can we be real for a moment, do you really believe that sanitizing  your currency can help avoid the spread of a disease? Of course not, paying something by hand is just one of the many ways you can come and contact with the virus. We always touch our face, bump into different people, shake someone's hand, and also breath something contaminated basically dirty money isn't really the problem here.
1399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitbay and Blocknet - the best opportunities here or can someone suggest others? on: February 17, 2020, 07:20:12 PM
At this point I have 15 alts  and looking for suggestions for others. If there is no a sensible opportunity for 50x returns against btc (not fiat) then I won't consider this as a reason to deplete my bitcoin holdings for.

Other suggestions welcome. Hoping to spread alt holdings over 20 solid projects.

These are not bitcoin investment replacements. Conduct your own research.

If I were you I'll be shaving 10-13 of those altcoins and just focus on three to four cryptocurrencies in my portfolio. You have 15 altcoins 16 including Bitcoin and if this is the way of diversifying your capital onto different projects this is a bad option, with what you are doing you are just shedding of potential bigger returns on the cryptocurrencies you really like. The way I see 10+ crypto hodlers in their portfolio I could easily see them as someone who don't really trust the crypto they bough that's why they are also buying several different coins as a way to compensate the potential losses they'll have. Don't even try to increase your holdings by adding 5 more different cryptocurrencies with what other people are suggesting, focus more on re-allocating your money in the cryptos you really want to hold on too.
1400  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can the Outbreak of CORONA Virus lead to Increase ..... on: February 17, 2020, 06:02:28 PM
What crash? Are you talking about this one?

As you can see in the daily chart of BTC/USD you'll see that there was no effect on the price movement of Bitcoin this 2020. The US-Iran conflict happened literally just in the first week of 2020 but as you can see in price movement above Bitcoin shows no any signs that it was affected negatively by the two countries having a conflict, from what I even remembered some local crypto exchange in Iran have Bitcoin priced above it's current fair market value.

But speaking about the Coronavirus as a different situation compared to the US-Iran conflict. I can say that it might have some kind of direct effect in the price of Bitcoin. Last week we have seen news relating a Bitcoin farm in China closing their operations due to the government forcing them to stop their operations because of the Coronavirus. If things worsenes and other Bitcoin farms in China will shutdown the direct hit we will have is the decrease in hashrate. Last time our hashrate drop significantly it directly brought Bitcoin's price down together with it.
