Or at least he should use many exchanges available, like Remitano. It is something like Escrow service, and you won't lose your money because scammers can not use it to scam the others. They have to deposit their bitcoin to that platform, and when you are a buyer confirm that you already receive your bitcoin, that seller will receive correspondent amount of money.

Trading directly with strangers on insecure platform is always the worst idea to think of.

I looked remitano up and I see that it some kind of crypto exchange that also has an escrow service. It's the first time I'm hearing about this website and maybe one of the reason why is it is incorporated in an island country of Secyhelles. So I'm not against the idea of you using a escrow service from a website as long as the rates they are charging you is fair as well as their service being reputable and safe. With the emphasize on the reputable and safe part since I have no experience with using a escrow service from a website aside from the ones built-in in an e-commerce sites I shop in so you really have to research first if these escrow websites you are using can be trusted with your money.
1402  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to change the obsolete social media from account info on: February 16, 2020, 06:29:09 PM
We do have the option to add a "Other Contact Info" under the Forum Profile Information tab. Personally even if the admins decide to replace it from what you suggested I still wouldn't put my personal accounts in their like what I did to my email where I opt it out to remain hidden from the rest of the users. However I see this feature change very useful to members who are heavily involved in the marketplace doing business since people who are interested in talking to them would find their contacts easily.
1403  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Use Discord with caution on: February 16, 2020, 05:13:46 PM
Your friend really did a poor job on initiating a trade using Discord. He should at least practice some of the safety precautions when it comes to trading using Bitcoin like using an escrow and asking for a sign message from his know Bitcoin address of his so-called friend in Discord. Your friend was actually lucky to only be scammed with that small amount since 20$ is actually very cheap to learn a valuable lesson of internet scams. Also when we are talking about preventing from a scam happening chatting servicess like Discord especially Telegram should be avoided, deals and transactions should be negotiated on an alternative way where both people know that they only have accessed to those accounts.
1404  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam Awareness] Do not use online sites to create your "paper wallets" on: February 16, 2020, 02:45:40 PM
There was something telling me that I have seen this website before but I realized that this was posted in the forum several times in the past years but I have never seen posts about it being a scam. They even have a ANN thread for their website here in the forum so it was really a surprise to me to see them scamming people right now. OmegaStarScream might be right the the site ownership changing of hands is the reason why there are now scams happening from that site.

Blow To Bitcoin As ‘Significant’ U.S. Crypto Crackdown Suddenly Revealed

Same news different headline, it sad to see that even a reputable website like Forbes are using misleading headlines on crypto related news. How can this be considered a "crackdown" when only the potential new regulations the US will have is all about preventing illicit activities from happening in the crypto industry? Are there trying to say that everyone of us involved in the industry is doing bad? Like we are all evading taxes and laundering our money? These types of news about new and updated kinds of regulation shouldn't be assumed to be bad in the first place since we still don't know what the content of the upcoming regulations are. What Forbes is doing can be technically considered as mind conditioning which is delivering a neutral news to be something bad for us.
1406  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Popularize Bitcoin with another way : lasers and technology danceshow on: February 16, 2020, 10:38:28 AM
Yes that's the problem now, I prefer to create than to do communication on social medias...
Thanks for your advices, I will try to send the video also on Facebook groups or other...
Create a live performance would be perfect, but the technical side is conplicated. I will think about it 👍

It's really not that complicated if you ask me. In the entertainment industry people are constantly looking for unique ideas and performances and judging with the talent you have I know someone would be interested in what you are doing, you just have to look for it. If you mean by "technical" side of performing it I think that the you can always ask for help from your employer with regards of setting up with what you will be doing since they'll also be the ones handling for the cost of that. I know that what you want is to go viral with what you are doing that's why you are sharing it in the social media but it's really not that fast to get viral, sometimes it's always just luck. Growing your audience is a much guaranteed way of boosting up your views in your channel.
1407  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A good book to learn how to trade. on: February 15, 2020, 09:36:15 PM
Recently i´ve got a indication of a book: Encyclopedia of chart patterns (second edition). This book is realy good, but it has many pages (1033).

If you are seeing the number of pages as some kind of roadblock right now I don't think that recommending you a new book that contains less number of pages is the ideal solution here. Books are not designed to be read in whole especially if you are a beginner who wants to learn everything since skipping on sections and paragraphs would just make you clueless on understanding everything. If I would be advising you I think what you need to do is just to be motivated to learn and finish a book before you find a new one. Because I think if you find a book boring to learn I don't think you'll be suited enough to learn something from a new book, you'll just find that new book boring the same as the old one.
1408  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this user tried to steal members password? Very suspicious. on: February 15, 2020, 08:16:23 PM
It wouldn't be a good practice to use the same password as your BCT's in the first place or for any website. The same username is of course not that suspicious for me but the way how the user is trying to promote their website without any kind of promotions and added details will arouse more suspicion about the website. Adding more suspicion is why the hell is a school trying to create their own dice game as a school project? And why is it inside their website? If this school is really a school I know the kids would learn how to create a different game which isn't related to gambling.

I did a domain lookup as well and I don't know what to come up with it.

So cool 🔥🔥🔥
I hope also to bring people on this forum... but I need to promote the video, not enaugh views foe the moment...

Maybe if you are targeting for more views I think the best way to promote your channel is to actually do a live performance with your dance shows? If you can do it in a public place legally in your country this will be a good way to make a name for yourself and you'll be boosting your subscribers naturally by promoting your channel afterwards. Other than public performances I think looking for a job for what you are doing is another way for you to promote it. Also I don't know if it's my screen's color accuracy but are you flashing Bitcoin's symbol in a red light? If you are I think you need to create a new video that flashes it in orange where Bitcoin's symbol is known to be tied with.
1410  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Bitmain shipping? Coronavirus effects? on: February 15, 2020, 03:35:01 PM
This is somehow old news but this can be the answer why you are having delays with your shipment and you are correct that the NCov is the main cause for it. Microbt and Ebang, the competitors of Bitmain, announced delays of shipment because of it but I'm wondering why Bitmain hasn't given any advanced notice about their shipment delays due to the Coronavirus. Not only mining hardware businesses are affected by the outbreak as even NVIDIA will be expected to take a hit from their sales because of it since China is one of their biggest markets and they are expected to lose 100$ million worth of sales because of delays in shipment and slow business given by the outbreak.
1411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC ATM's installation and business model, any advice? on: February 15, 2020, 02:31:55 PM
Some sellers are selling it for around 900-1,000$ in Alibaba.com though I'm not recommending it since there is really no guarantee that the machine is clean from any kind of malware or not. The most preferable option is for you to build and develop the Bitcoin ATM yourself, you just need to buy the hardware for it but the software and the U.I. for your machine needs to be develop for you and designed for the UK market since from what I know Bitcoin ATMs in the U.K. needs to have some kind of KYC involved before their users can even buy/sell crypto in those ATMs. So before you even plan on buying ATMs you must also know how to fully operate in the UK legally.
1412  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Research paper about crypto trading on: February 14, 2020, 05:56:54 PM
~snip~

I agree with you, but my point was different. I meant that in order for an exchange to be reputable it needs strong security to prove itself resistant against bad actors or platform downtimes and lag.

Yeah and you can't really prove that without having a clean record against hacks, threats, and data leaks. Having this kind of problem early on will just hinder your growth and maybe even be the cause of your early downfall. Building a new crypto exchange is no joke and in order to get some market share from the big fishes you needed to be reliable and secure so you really don't have any room for any errors early on. So if you are asking for this kinds of questions I'm afraid to tell you that you are still not ready to create your own exchange, you still need to plan more particularly on your website's U.I. and security because this will be the foundation for your crypto exchange.
1413  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Research paper about crypto trading on: February 12, 2020, 09:28:30 PM
Thank you for the answer! Reputation comes with strong security, this is why I am all in for strong withdrawal protections put in place.

Thank you all for the answers!

From what I have seen until now the most important factor seems to be reputation therefore strong security etc..

Not exactly, even the most reputable crypto exchange out there can have be hacked so there is really no way of relating reputability and security all at the same time. If you want to be reputable though you must not only prove yourself of being a secure exchange you must also prove that your service is reliable meaning your site is up and running all the time with zero down times and that is including unnecessary maintenance and lags from your UI. From a perspective the users with you being reliable and secure I know that you can be trusted with our money and then you can see your reputation grow naturally.
1414  Economy / Economics / Re: Countries and their own cryptocurrency! on: February 12, 2020, 07:44:59 PM
What we want is actually not what the government want, by them have their own state-issued cryptocurrency they'll just be cannibalizing the market for the real cryptos out there, and the bad thing about them having their own cryptocurrency is their is a chance that they can be biased when it comes to their own cryptocurrency like what India is trying to do in their own market where they have unfavorable laws for crypto yet they are trying to launch their own crypto. We just want for us to see Bitcoin to be mass adapted in our country not our government countering it with their own cryptocurrency, this will just make things worst and confuse a lot of people on what crypto is really all about.
1415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: February 12, 2020, 06:48:37 PM
Raptors are not doing "better" this year compared to last year, they didn't really cared about the regular season last year, they kind of do right now.

Surely players Lika Lowry or maybe Ibaka etc do not care, didn't care last year and not now neither, however players like Siakam or FVV who are doing very well and they are working hard because they did really showed themselves last year on playoffs but they really had to step up and keep showing the same value this year as well otherwise they would have been players who once played well for a while, now they are stars in their team.

Long story short raptors are not suddenly better, no team could ever disregard a superstar like Kawhi and be better, they are just playing better without Kawhi compared to times last year where they played without Kawhi, otherwise on playoffs the missing of Kawhi will show itself very much.

I don't know why people are thinking that the Toronto Raptors don't care about there season this year just because they don't have Kawhi Leonard this year or maybe because they are not making any noise compared to last year. I mean they are the second best team in the East and they are actually playing the same way like any team in the East who want's to compete aside from that they are not resting their players too long and they are actually starting their best players in every game as long as they are healthy. If they don't care about the regular season at all they'll just be like the Warriors tanking their way in the first round pick but they aren't, they are trying to win games in the regular season and you can see it on how they play.
1416  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer and Thief: Jens Steyaert - Ceo of Buzzex and ADZbuzz on: February 12, 2020, 05:24:57 PM
Why am I not seeing any news about this guy or anything about Buzzex and ADZbuzz? I did some background check and literally I haven't seen any kind of news nor the number of victims and the amount he has stolen from his scam. Is it possible that he isn't scamming people locally and his main targets are from other countries? I have seen a lot of local news in the Philippines where it is popular for foreigners that are scammers operating their scam in the Philippines, I don't know why but maybe it is about extradition and how hard it would be to arrest him if he is in another country. If the authorities are on too him the first thing they'll do is of course track his known family and I think that's the best way for them to start.
1417  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-02-08] Police Shuts Down Bitcoin Mine Over Coronavirus on: February 11, 2020, 07:23:11 PM
Don't get it.

It's not as if there's hundreds of people coming and going on a daily basis. It's probably a few worker bees locked in a warehouse trying not to go deaf. There's no stock deliveries. It looks like no one goes home at night and there probably aren't very many people there in total anyway.

Even though the article stated that their miner is located in Wuhan I'm guessing it is located around or near the Wuhan and Hubei province so any kind of activities or unnecessary things like this would be shutdown. The lock down they are doing is not only in the Wuhan province itself but any location around it so they are really limiting any kind of activities even schools are shut down to lessen the risk of infection. I know that this is big since from what I know BTC.top is one of the biggest mining pools out there and one hit of at least a few of their miners would decrease the hashrate we have, the longer the duration of their closure and also additional mining farms in China being shutdown would be catastrophic to us.
1418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Brave the best crypto friendly web browser? on: February 11, 2020, 06:09:39 PM
I haven't used Brave browser but they have been heavily criticized for being a "privacy" browser for their users who wants to continue earning BAT tokens. KYC is of course what you wouldn't expect on a browser claiming to value their user's privacy since they are at the same time asking for more details about you just for you earn back from them. I mean sure you are earning money but will you value those few dollars you earn from BAT tokens in exchange for your personal information? If you are that kind of guy I think I have no right on stopping you, I'm just here informing you on what you will have to give in order to earn those tokens from Brave.
1419  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top analyst warns a hard dump. on: February 11, 2020, 05:25:10 PM
It has been almost a month now and Bitcoin didn't show any signs of reversal and has completely gone into the opposite direction of what he is saying, this just proves the fact that we should avoid listening and following people and news blindly without us doing any research and analysis of our own. "Top" Analysts and news makers are very predictable now, don't you see that? If Bitcoin has stayed in the bottom for a while a lot of people will call it that Bitcoin will go up but if Bitcoin is going strongly upwards a lot of these people will call that Bitcoin will go down, they are just predicting the natural movement of Bitcoin and there is nothing special about that. They'll just be here throwing us random numbers of support levels and resistances in order for us to see them believable when in fact they are not that accurate.
1420  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Problems & Errors on: February 10, 2020, 07:56:21 PM
First thought was well another one is gone, now its semi back to normal. We could maybe keep this as a unconventional repair hotline for the future.

This wouldn't be necessary since the admins already know when the site is down or still up and running that's why you'll see theymos posting about it. Also when BCT is having some down time it will be harder to create posts thus rendering this "repair hotline" completely useless because a lot of members including the admins will know it right away. Best thing to do in this kinds of situation is to just wait for everything to be normal again and don't panic about it since you are not the only one experiencing it.
