241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staked ETH in abandoned wallet on: May 08, 2024, 03:05:09 PM

assuming you got the seed, then no one can stop you from taking it. you just have to face the consequences if you are caught.

but let's say it is indeed abandoned or the owner died already. maybe you can claim the tokens. i wonder what sort of program you are using to discover such seeds because if it's possible, there would have been people trying all day to generate seeds.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who's responsible for the dead coins? on: May 08, 2024, 02:47:25 PM

marketing staff?  if not for the developers and investors then marketing staff after all they are responsible for making the project well known to the crypto community. but most of all, they are not supposed to create a coin that isn't well planned and has no study.

if they know there isn't going to be a big community that will support a project only meant for a store of value purpose, then there is already one that exists. they have to come up with something new.
243  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can I get into trading on: May 08, 2024, 02:31:44 PM
Good day guys!
As someone who’s new to this space and wants to start trading, what are the steps I can take to start and how much of fund do I need to start?.
What wallet is best for me? Can I use meta trader?

there are forex brokers that actually have Bitcoin included in their meta-trader versions. assuming you already are into forex then it will not be difficult for you to also trade in crypto as they are all just currencies.

most of us here in crypto though are using tradingview which you can also have an account by just signing up. the indicators in meta trader are no different from those in Tradingview which you will have no problem reading the charts. since you are already are trading using meta trader, i guess there is no explanation needed for them. i assume you will also be in futures market?
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will blockchain survive the crackdown on mixers and anonymization? on: May 07, 2024, 09:39:59 PM

you being known to the authorities because of the KYC done by exchanges means you are vulnerable to them and they could visit your home address and chain you for having transactions they couldn't trace. that's crazy but it could actually happen.

developers also may be visited by the authorities to see whether they can tag wallet addresses. and this is how blockchains of some coins may not survive. if it's what OP means? if they could do this to mixers why not to the developers? they could just find faults in these developers and if they are resistant, they could just jail them.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Browsing Old Bitcoin Forums Blows My Mind on: May 07, 2024, 08:53:02 PM
old forum guys are the ones in crypto because of the technology. they started the community and made everyone who listened and opened the possibilities.

some wallets are still filled with lots of BTC though and some just send their coins out. i think they distance themselves from crypto after KYC implementation on exchanges. it's scares them away i guess. Satoshi did it and i guess they know something.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you rather invest in MATIC or SOL currently? on: May 07, 2024, 07:17:39 PM
So MATIC is probably better because of its low prize?

as for me, yes. and maybe for some of us who are more conscious about profit. SOL and MATIC to me are not very different actually. they are both just a network providing layer 2 solutions, MATIC however is just not getting much support after all, the team developing the project is from India AFAIK.

but if they get more support as well, i think the price will not be so very different. SOL is even more vulnerable than Matic since it has more downtime.
247  Economy / Economics / Re: Banning of p2p on crypto apps in Nigeria on: May 07, 2024, 06:49:54 PM

they were doing this by banning p2p on exchanges that were not within their jurisdiction afaik. i guess this is like controlling what they can only grasp and whats outside their reach is something to be banned. very reasonable i think, the ones that were banned were binance and OKX so far.

i'm just not sure if the information i saw was true because their government still allows p2p from Bitget and some other local crypto exchanges.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you rather invest in MATIC or SOL currently? on: May 07, 2024, 06:33:33 PM
if you could envision that MATIC will soar high in the bull season, buy more of MATIC, i think you will not need much funds to make a huge profit for it compared to having SOL which you can only have a few SOL with a budget of $1000. with MATIC, you can have more than 1000 MATIC which with a 0.50$ increment of the price you profit more than $500 already.

it's just the time when it will happen because MATIC doesn't look like the price could just spike every time BTC grows $1%
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu plans to use $12 million to develop a Layer-3 blockchain on: May 07, 2024, 05:31:57 AM
Initially, I thought Layer 2 solutions would be the endgame for scaling Ethereum, but it now seems like there will be an endless progression of layers. This mirrors how Smart phones has continually evolved in functionality over time. And as the value of eth and Bitcoin continues to rise, I'm confident these layered solutions will only become more useful and fascinating. We're even starting to see Layer 2 solutions emerging for Bitcoin ecosystem as well, which is an exciting development.

Exactly and the thought was fow many. When layer 1 full up and congestion then the overloaded Blockchain would released some of the load to the layer 2 which Ethereum and others found themselves in that layer but it seeing that the layer 2 Blockchain is even more congested more than layer1. And from the way it is now I don't think layer 3 can solve any problem of congestion of the Blockchains. And the best solution I can guest out is to remove those ordinals and the memecoins that are feeding from the layer 2 Blockchain. And let them create their own Blockchain so everywhere will be free and very low congestion.

it's a continuous development and innovation in which we might just have layer 4 to layer 5 in a few years. shirbarium though in the next few years will likely have the price of doge that we used to gamble 100K for a single spin. but this is if they achieve something of this $12M in developing shibarium. they have been saying this for a while actually. there was a thread about this before.

whether it could solve the congestion or not. if the innovative nature of the result can make the price go higher, the users will not mind. but i hope for solutions because as for now BNB is winning about the fees. Grin
250  Economy / Economics / Re: Food shortages coming to the United Kingdom, BUT - on: May 07, 2024, 04:44:08 AM
people are not wearing masks anymore these days. we have been lied to but we all believed it. i still have boxes of masks at home it has become a habit already to take one whenever we get out.

i can agree that this is really fabricated by the governments conspiring with each other and just like mentioned above. Klaus Schwab encouraging people to eat bugs is like the craziest ideas. i wonder iff he himself is eating bugs.
Maybe in your area only but on others and in ours here, I still can see people who wear it, especially if they are working in hospitals or are students in any schools. Wearing masks has become a norm ever since Covid came. It's great because people see the importance of it, either for protecting their health or to simply hide their faces if they are insecure about it.

Eating bugs on the other hand are not a crazy thing but I already saw lots of people who does that and maybe that person there already tried it before for them to also recommend it. It might actually come in handy and save our lives one day if we have nothing to eat anymore.

well, he can convince a poor country to eat bugs especially when they don't have the choice. but the countries that are abundant with fish and animal farms, they will eat happily the meat and not mind klause.

UK farmers were just choked by the environmental standards though. their government is to blame for what is happening. people keep shouting the communist part of China is cruel but they never did this to their farmers actually.

251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accumulating Bitcoin or trading Bitcoin which is more wise to do. on: May 07, 2024, 04:25:14 AM

traders are trading BTC/USDT to accumulate BTC. the stablecoin is what it's used for, traders sell the BTC for a higher price in exchange for USDT and then wait til the price drops which they accumulate satoshis. it could be easy to look at it this way and one could think you get to be rich when you master doing this. i do believe so but what you need is also time and patience which not everyone has.

252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most "Memecoins" are not even coins, most "Memecoins" are tokens on: May 06, 2024, 09:14:27 PM
This has been settled for some months or years back and it was clearly state that any coin that is not bitcoin, it is an altcoin and it is spelled as alt and coin, therefore it is a coin. But I am trying to like your explanation because really there some airdrops or memecoins that are not coins. Like you said coin must has it own Blockchain chain and community or forum and but airdrops or memecoins do not have that instead they survive from another platform and like the examples you gave is very good. BNB, and others are not coins per say but a token.

But from my view point Ethereum is coin because all the elements that qualify cryptocurrency to be a coin, it has it. And not like others tht you made mentioned that is not a coin. Solana is also a coin. Though I understand your point of view but when you critically look at it Ethereum is a coin and not a token.

ETH was just labeled as a smart contract platform but is not distinguished as a coin.  everybody seems to call it a token though.

i'm not sure where the subject is going though. if this is to tell people not to invest in the memecoins/tokens because they are using L1 chain, i think this will still not be heard by those people. all they see is $ and if WIF is worth $3.40 at the time of this writing. i think they are already seeing it will jump to $4 soon.
253  Economy / Economics / Re: Combination of Different FIATS Make World Inflation? on: May 06, 2024, 07:08:06 PM
Every country is printing their fiat no matter what and people within the country have no choice but when it comes to international trades the leaders prefer the strongest currency which USD as of now so if China print more money then it will lose its value against USD and that's how USD is still being at the top but if there is a situation countries lost the trust that USD is strong and stable then they might prefer their own fiat or anything else.

China is reliant on its importations that's why they are securing its trade routes such as the Belt and Road.
China is the world's producer of different products, there will always be a demand for their money since every time a country imports products from them, these countries will need CYN to purchase those products. if they stop producing also, the rest of the world will suffer from increasing higher prices of even the old phones.

but USD declining demand because of BRICS dedollarization will force the government to print more. the increase in US debt every month means printing off these notes while they support wars. USD is widely used still and every time there is printing of USD, all other countries with USD reserves will be affected.

with this kind of economic advisor, the government will need to fire this guy without pay. this man here is Jared Bernstein, White house economic advisor.

this is the funniest, you'd think its fake. but its real.

254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Damn the fees on: May 06, 2024, 06:26:27 PM
Playing the game is not what that make you realizes paying high fees except you're trying to make withdrawal and at the cause of doing this, you may have to make use of a network which fee is more cheaper and lower, which will be more affordable, as everyone already suggested, don't even go near the use of Ethereum network, sometimes, what you're sending may be lesser to the transaction fees to encounter.

most probably designed this way to keep users playing. its one of the strategy that even casinos do to make users stay for longer. but with more games and competition in think these kind of issues will soon disappear as more users will prefer to move to games that will allow them to make money.

but this should have been considered already even before they develop the games with the tokens. EOS i think fits the role for the network they should be utilizing if they want adoption. most gamers are kids who doesn't have funds on thier own.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2024’s GameFi Gems:4 Must-Invest Tokens on: May 06, 2024, 06:09:03 PM

most of the projects that took flight already will certainly be posted by someone in the forum but it's only PIXEL that i read that was posted in here. i couldn't even remember it until this thread popped. i'm having doubts about whether anyone from here ever played one of these games.

if they make the game easy and tokens are easy to earn, there may have been a lot of posts already and the majority will likely take the opportunity to play all day abandoning the free spins and bounty campaigns.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most "Memecoins" are not even coins, most "Memecoins" are tokens on: May 06, 2024, 05:52:03 PM

so basically, its only dogecoin that passes the criteria for being a memecoin. the rest are meme tokens. they do have a reason for this since it is easier to add these meme tokens on DEXs than the memecoins having their own blockchain.

easier to pump the memecoins on dex, the team itself can try pumping these meme tokens and as soon as people buy them they could just dump their tokens to those who think they could make money out of it.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what things to do when crypto loss is there on: May 06, 2024, 05:31:15 PM

$200 seems a good amount for memecoin pump and pump. spotting which one is the hardest part but list them all in a tradingview account and watch which one has been on a dip for a long time but is so popular with a huge 24 trading volume. whenever one just spike about 5% and you think it is yet not too late to get into it, i guess that might just be your signal.  Grin

not financial advice bro. or you can list top coins from BTC, ETH, SOL and BNB. just apply the same concept.  Grin
258  Economy / Economics / Re: cryptocurrency market changes in April on: May 06, 2024, 05:22:46 PM

Halving this April didn't change the market i guess since you skipped it. but right after it happened the price went down which was also expected just like the ETF approval in Hong Kong. It's a classic buy the rumor and sell the news in action.

Ton's upward trend started in March and in April, it's mostly downwards. holders taking profit already for maybe they want to hold BTC this time.
259  Economy / Economics / Re: BRICS has become eleven countries instead of five. on: May 06, 2024, 06:15:03 AM
i don't think they trust anybody in their group but they were mixing all their assets afaik but not sure who will hold their assets and they come up with the currency BRICS as well.
Let us all be honest these countries will do anything to save themselves even if it meant they have to make it look like they have a partnership or just a good relationship with other countries. They are all in agreement because there is something they need from each other. The moment there is none, I am sure they will have no hesitation to turn their backs on one another.
Quote
however i don't think they are interested in new world order, they just want to be independent in finance and economics since most of these countries were sanctioned by US and if they can work around on their own means they are free from US sanctions.
Freedom from US is equivalent of being able to dethrone the US government and the US dollar.

it's not like US doesn't have a chance to rise again. they have all the means from the start. they were just not believing from the beginning that BRICS is dedollarising and all they saw was that it's not true and that BRICS is delusional.

they are going to keep adding more countries to their side if nothing is changed in the policies.  my country is allied with the US to this day, seems nothing has been done to improve our lives. maybe going with BRICS for a change will result in something better. maybe this is what those new BRICS members are thinking as well.

260  Economy / Economics / Re: Farming and it importance to the economy on: May 05, 2024, 08:42:14 PM

yes, the government should encourage the citizens to become self-sufficient. in the time of Muammar Gadaffi he encouraged all the families to grow chickens so that they have eggs, i think that worked on them which is why during his time, the country was called the last hope for Africa. anyway, history is cruel to him.

but its time to really make it the right option for people to grow crops in the backyard and farm, chickens in order for the family to have their own food resources without relying on any company for jobs.
