Cannot do anything right in football. Might just have to take a break or something, or go back to simple "bet anything above 5/1" and sit back and see the money rolling in.

And yes, Atalanta is the current cause of me getting philosophical. Next bet. Not Juventus, right?
2482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 04, 2023, 08:52:49 PM
Kepa, damn, yeah, couldn't have seen that coming, honestly. I probably have him unfairly dismissed mentally since 2 seasons ago, though he isn't the only one.

I did avoid a Casemiro mistake (Club talk chat made me consider it for a while) but there's very little joy for me here because of results elsewhere. And yeah, jumping on the triple Rashford bandwagon is the only good decision I've made this entire week.

@casperCGD if Nketiah had just put that one goal away in the first half, things coulda been different.

A long time coming, and I know I'm not alone in saying this is something a lot of us will be looking forward to. Really good to see this initiative from Sportsbet and Cro2 -- I think it's absolutely fantastic that it's going to be inclusive of other sports and events, looking forward to seeing some of the users active in less-visible sports take part.

Side note: I've applied already, actually lower division start could be cool, reminds me of the 1990s playing with the lowest-ranked team in Football Manager or Winning Eleven and trying to just go all the way up, fairy-tale style.

@Cro2 damn, gonna check that out!

Meanwhile we have two very optimistic Liverpool's fans that picked Everton to win against Arsenal. I cant really fathom on why both of them picked this but hey it worked out on their favour  Cheesy

LFC_Bitcoin, how low is life that we both picked Everton to win and that was our surest thing today? Such exquisite pain, I stopped feeling nervous or even bad since a couple of games ago. Matip own goal to kick it off was just, how do you say, that's where we are now.

Of course, I still don't have the heart to predict against Liverpool (never mind to bet against them) but there are days I wish I could be objective here, would have made a lot of money this season!
2486  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: February 04, 2023, 06:04:25 PM
^ Yeah, hate to say it, but I definitely saw Liverpool and Arsenal loss coming. What I didn't see was Wolves scoring three... Wolves! Oh yeah, don't do the tip thing, it definitely ends badly if you start getting pressured to get it right.

Definitely not such a cool day for bets. Just gotta weather this.

So you don't have talent to be a music star, even if you practice very hard?  Grin

My man, just turn on the radio or see what's trending on YouTube or ask kids these days what they're listening to. Talent is no longer the necessary requirement. Maybe it never was =p
2487  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2023, Bullish or Bearish? on: February 04, 2023, 03:33:51 PM
Noting that if we're posting here in this forum, in general, we're bullish for the long term -- yes, all of us. Bearish people would probably stick to speculating and shorting -- or exit and liquidate, including on this forum... I'm probably more bearish in 2023. Not because I've lost hope for the future (2017/19/20 massive crashes did nothing to dent me!) but because I think we're in for quite a lot more than anyone expects in terms of the global economy.

It seems far away and distant, but we've already experienced Covid impacts. We've yet to experience a deep, deep global depression.
2488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 04, 2023, 01:22:32 PM
I never expected a Livarpool fan to be the first to throw the first stone, we are brothers in arms, man. Haha

Since we're all at the bottom of the elite now, we can only scrap for bones no one else wants, count me in throwing second and third stones too haha.

Now it's left for us to equal your awful display yesterday -- at this rate, I'm pretty sure we'll wipe you from the headlines heh.

Meanwhile, Everton should have led at HT -- 2 of the best chances, where's DCL's nose for goal gone? I did think Dyche would bring this effect -- switching some players to positions they hadn't played in years.
2489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: opinion: it would be better off if taproot was rolled back on: February 04, 2023, 12:52:20 PM
Hmm, never would have thought ordinals would get this much blowback, the threads in Project didn't suggest it.

There are probably counter examples, but apart from rollbacks to prevent catastrophic consequences and with few enough nodes to easily control majority (I'm also ignoring Ethereum's non-catastrophe), when has a rollback ever been supported anyway?

So even if you're right, the consequence isn't real enough or tangible enough, even those who wouldn't understand enough (like me) wouldn't support it.
2490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: February 04, 2023, 11:45:19 AM
Oh damn me. Was reminding myself all morning to put ky bets in today before going out, especially the Arsenal one for the promo. Then of course I leave home and forget it all. Heh.

Good luck if anyone takes the special. I have a weird feeling about Dyche and Everton though... the Nketiah one looks value.
2491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Act local and think global on: February 04, 2023, 10:50:35 AM
Always believed that, even if it sounds xenophobic. But local's always been "myself" first. You can only gain so much by preaching, if I look back on myself, I've always only really been convinced by seeing rather than hearing.

Bitcoin's pretty much the same. I knew about it pretty early on, slashdot was a thing back then. Even covered it as a journalist down the line, but it was really only in 2016 when I read about it and started using it that I was convinced.

Looking back at Bitcoiners I've met over the years, pretty much the same. They all did, and acted "locally". That contagion happens after, and naturally.
2492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 03, 2023, 10:15:50 PM
Well. What a disappointment. No Fulham upset (a draw itself was not the likely result but feels a letdwon) and no big money goals. Thought Chelski had it in them even before their spending spree.

Back to the drawing board, Potter.

2493  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the black swan event not to be expected anymore? on: February 03, 2023, 06:17:14 PM
Really? Seen plenty enough mentions of it. And guilty here, I've mentioned it a couple of times since end of last year, last week I think most recently.

I personally think we haven't seen it yet (FTX and before that, Terra, those were confined to Bitcoin) -- I consider a proper one to have impacts across markets.

And, by definition, (again mk4 first to point it out) it should hit us by surprise. So probably when we all think we're out of the woods Wink
2494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: February 03, 2023, 04:48:23 PM
Anyway I really like what Xavi is doing, this Barca looks much more direct and vertical then Barca of old. They are also good in getting the ball high up the pitch when lost which helps a lot.

Yeah, reminds me I haven't seen them in a stretch either but I really thought they are back to being pleasant to watch, even when they're punting the ball up for Lewie, they've gotten more aggressive at battling for possession in air (Pedri and Gavi even with their height!).

I didn't watch the game without Torres or Lewandowski (against Girona) so I didn't see how they played with Fati (who's always better on the wing I think) but with the proper squad, it does look entertaining.

Definitely have to make time for next Clasico, though probably less important is the Copa one -- be awesome if they're still this close in standings come 19 March.
2495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 03, 2023, 02:43:27 PM
What a terrible season for Liverpool. Can't seem to sell the club, so we're stuck with owners that don't want us, we've had one of our worst seasons in recent memory, definitely our worst under Klopp. We've just had the chance to mitigate some of our problems by making a few signings, and we basically didn't do anything. Especially, to that midfield that needed reinforcement. Looks like we've accepted our fate this season. I guess we must be holding out for some big moves in the summer, right?

I'm going for a Fulham win, Arsenal win, Aston Villa win, and Brentford win this weekend. Liverpool have Wolves, so we'll probably lose against then, let's be honest. We haven't had the best of luck with them recently.

I hope so, but you know what all the cultures say about hope. Springs eternal, last to die, has many children, etc. I'm just trying to still watch football with enthusiasm now. Bad results I can stomach for a time when the team plays well but it's hard when even the game on the pitch isn't nice.

Going for Chelsea (huh?) and Arsenal both betting wise but actually picked an Arsenal loss -- only to try and win a yellow cap.

And yeah Konate, gonna miss Real Madrid. Guess it's back to good old Nat Philips... can't imagine if we successfully sold him this season.
2496  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin freelance bounties site on: February 03, 2023, 12:59:28 PM
^ Man, I've been wondering about some kind of dumbed down version of an app we could easily use for Bitcoin escrow that doesn't have a third party-- if I find it a bit too daunting to try, then it's too complicated to get others to use.

I remember even in 2017 reading that Rootstock's priority was something like this. Disappeared from view if it's available. Anyone aware of?
2497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 03, 2023, 12:28:17 PM
So I did the easiest thing in the world: copy Trofo and probably half of FPL by using triple captain on Rashford.

I was going to stick with Salah but then I needed some money for transfer and so I reluctantly transferred him out. Also took a -4 penalty but will probably have this for the next couple of weeks too to clear out my Newcastle squad.
2498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if 1 satoshi worth more than 1 dollar? on: February 02, 2023, 08:38:47 PM
Ditto mk4 (sub-satoshi payments have already been possible for years, no upgrade necessary) and pooya97 (the day 1 satoshi is 1 dollar is a day we should be worried about.

Today, 1 satoshi is already about 0.45 Nigerian naira, 3.5 Indonesian rupiah, and 10 Iranian rial, among others. These currencies, at some point recently enough, weren't so bad. I'm not even using examples of extreme hyperinflation-hit currencies.

I think we have plenty of Nigerians, Indonesians and Iranians who will tell you that can't buy anything these days.

I know, terrible comparison but you have to understand what you're imagining.

^That was a nice session to listen in on!

Steve does very well in front of the camera, doesn't he? Could give Gav a run for his money.

And more great tips from Trofo on Fantasy, will definitely tweak my team ahead of the Chelsea game now, though at this stage I'm playing catch up (as usual). Rashford in, and I'll hang on to Grob/Almiron for one more game to spread my penalties out a little.

Just kidding of course, I won't even get offended if you don't stay for chat but you could use some fantasy tips probably Smiley
And we will of course send some darts Chelsea way and comment their "kid in candy store" behavior during the transfer window.

I haven't had the time to sit in these days but today's a rare night I don't have to make dinner, and it's always fun hanging out with forum people... outside the forum.

Oh you must like Steve voice very much or you don't like Trofos accent at all Grin

Like is a word not good enough to describe how much I like both their voices or accents (cough cough) and yes, I've heard them both. I'm happy my voice isn't played anymore, that was horrible heh heh.
2500  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Migrate from one ethereum wallet to other using migratoor on: February 02, 2023, 05:17:18 PM
I'm not dev but I can help with these questions.

— Yes, it will cost more. You will have to pay gas fees for each token being transferred.

I wouldn't bother transferring or selling cents worth tokens tbh. Transfers/sells cost couple bucks on ethereum which is not worth it.

— Yes, it will work.

Thanks for the responses! Yeah, I really just wanted to do spring cleaning as I made a bad choice of registering one of my original MEW wallets for ENS -- and then discovering later it's just full of junk (and continues to attract junk every now and then).

Suppose I'll just have to ignore them, more a cosmetic issue for me.
