What's up with all these bugs?
@Lambie and @V8

Not sure about V8, but no bugs for me, I'm just a striped hyena with a lamb carcass in my mouth who serves King Bitcoin.  Cheesy

Brohim, you are like machines. First of all there's L_duderinoo with his world-renown guessing games, then LFC is always buying people drinks in price-level games, and you my dear Icygreen sir, always winning: the 2 games you mentioned, but also some Hairy-made location guessing game from the Nam. I do love it when people win things.
You missed Theymos art contest, haha.  Still yet to fetch a duderino winning although we've exchanged gifts by mail which feels like a win and part of the collection.
I mark the coins on a Trezor, collection like, which I hope to look back in 10 years and post the stories and signed keys here. Hopefully worth ridiculous amounts.

Notice some gents here start talking about 400k and multiple parties(100,200,300,400k) and Max changes his target.

Yes, WO is setting the trend.

As long as eggs don't cost $250 a dozen @$400K we should be all good. Wink

After traveling through Ho Chi Minh city and especially now onto Bali, I'm starting to get the sense that people are treating the virus as a big nothing burger. Ok, maybe not nothing but certainly not more serious than SARS was.
More face masks being worn in HCMC but no checks or info at the airport and even many of the staff weren't wearing masks.
Now in Bali, it seems no fucks are given, no masks, nothing, just lots of whatevs.
At the airport upon arrival I had to fill out a card that asked if I was sick. Sign it and trade it for another card stamped health certificate. No temperature checks.
So what's the chances the media and markets have this thing blown up to generate maximum fears?

Do they have Grab in Vietnam? Its the southeast asia version of Uber, owned by an Indonesian company now I believe. I noticed all the Grab drivers were wearing face masks, and I wondered what that was all about... Recently I've been getting a notice every time I book a taxi that says wear a face mask for the safety of the driver... Meh. It would be the courteous thing to do, but TBH face masks are all sold out everywhere. People are still pretty on edge about it in the Philippines, maybe because we had the first death outside of China and now several infected (our media reports higher figures than what is displayed on that map, whose numbers I also believe are way too low).

In any case, that's a cool souvenier, and I hope you enjoy your time in Bali.
Ya, Grab is pretty much everywhere in VN and I believe all throughout Asia. Got fleeced for 5x the cost on a package of face masks the other day despite the VN gov. making a statement that anything beyond 5K dong is illegal. Never let a crisis go to waste I guess  Roll Eyes

I've got a friend in the Philippines (Caucasian) who's been sick for over a week. They've decided to lay low for fear of being quarantined or worse despite suggestions to get checked out. This particular case is described as more of an ongoing cold BTW.  Numbers are certainly low considering how many people will be doing exactly this.
Another close friend in Bali that just got flu symptoms today.

Fuk, I start to consider V8's warnings again and rethink a bit but I refuse to live in fear.

Bali is too hot & humid, touristy, and traffic polluted for my tastes these days. The romance wore off years ago. May have to find myself a spot in Portugal. I hear things in Europe aren't changing so fast.

Guys hello!
Today is exactly 2 years since I registered at this forum ! I do not write here often, (because of my bad English) but I read very often.  During this time you've all become like family to me, and I would like to celebrate it with you.  Cheesy
Since I registered on the forum, my life has changed a lot, mainly thanks to the financial planning that I learned from you! I want to make every member of the WO`s  a small gift in the form of a chocolate bar made by my close relative from natural products.
I have not yet figured out how to send the chocolate to those who want to remain anonymous, so I ask for your help with this. Huh
I'll participate in your thought experiment of anonymous receiving.  I had considered the same when I wanted to send some BTC patches I made, anonymously.
The best I could come up with was, create an anon email address with proton mail, Ask WO's to also create a new email address and send their shipping address (without identifying themselves).

Last time we played with this idea, some guys found a cool site that destroys messages after its read. https://privnote.com/
This way, if email is compromised in the future, nobody has details inside.
I'm not sure exactly if one could accomplish this in a trust-less way without 3rd party but its worth the thought experiment IMO.

Because you'd like to send food (a consumable) it adds another level of risk/trust.  I do believe your intentions are genuine and not saying you'd do it, but, it's not too difficult to imagine someone poisoning some WO Bitcoiners for whatever reason. Just saying.
Thanks for the acknowledgments here, I share the same gratitude you express.  Have a trustless merit Wink

I did see one couple that looked a bit odd. They got a lot of funny looks and a few of us snapping shots.

I'm not gonna pretend that this isn't happening or be insensitive, just relaying sentiment from the ground level as I had passed through my own fears of what this virus could mean personally to now feeling calmer in general.

Corn still kinda sideways at 10k, all is good this week.

or it was an inside job of an exchange. if you know such levels and you know how much buyer volume including the stop levels you have on your exchange it will pays a lot for you if you try to manipulate the market.

EDIT: I bet on BitMEX or Binance which caused the dump.

EDIT2: did anyone recognized that Binance integrated an Indian P2P exchange today? --> https://twitter.com/cz_binance/status/1227965284717416448

Bearish RSI swing rejection on the 12H for Bitcoin and RSI bearish divergence for ETH. Are we going dump? I think we are about to dump down to 9ks.
I'm don't think we're in overbought territory yet however I'm no trader and this will be SOMA but something tells me we have quite a bit more up to go before settling on a price range. Perhaps around 13K would be my guess.
Mayer multiple bands paint a similar view as long as sentiment remains bullish and team Trump doesn't drop a bomb on crypto this coming week.

The upper side of the yellow band which we've just entered is a bit over 15K.

275  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 12, 2020, 07:36:42 AM
Ok boyz, its speculation time.  Cheesy

Clearly we are in the early stages of a prehalvening pump. The sample is small, but this wonderful event has never failed to have a pre-pump, nor afaik has the litecoin halvening.

The questions are always:
1. When Pump?

2. How high Pump?

The answer to question one is clearly, Pump Now.

Number 2 is the more interesting question.  Smiley

A similar pump to the last halvening pre-pump would take us to as I stated yesterday, 16100. I see this as a minimum for two major reasons.

1. The Global Stock Market (as measured by MSCI ETF https://www.barchart.com/stocks/world-market-map/world)

The worlds major stock markets are in aggregate hitting all time highs on a regular basis in a lengthy bull market. In the midst of this late stage bull market melt up the world is flooded with money printing as Trump jawbones the Fed to keep his election hopes alive and China is printing at the speed of light to avoid a epidemic induced recession.

A huge swath of the worlds bonds are at negative interest rates and interest rates are at historically rock bottom levels. We are in as risk on of an environment as they come with historically high stock valuations that keep climbing.

The shitty yields for bonds and t-bills make Bitcoin more attractive. The stock market may not be that correlated to Bitcoin in price but the panic to keep pumping it is forcing central banks to money print like crazy. The money printing is of course fantastic for Bitcoin for obvious reasons of supply, demand, and scarcity. Even if we get the inevitable crash they will just have to print more money, so for stocks its heads Bitcoin wins, and tails Bitcoin wins.

If these central bankers weren't arrogant they would be raising rates at the end of a long bull cycle and that would mean less money printing and be a Bitcoin head wind. Fortunately for us they have put themselves in a box that requires money printing in all scenarios. This is a dream scenario for Hodlers.

2. The Aids-Flu (tin foil boyz call it Coronavirus)

Perhaps the Aid-Flu will fizzle out and become a distant memory as the summer comes and nations get it under control. What will certainly not happen is it fading from memory in the next few months.

This virus is sowing massive distrust in governments and for good reasons. Distrust in govs means less faith in fiat and more love for King Bitcoin. Its also forcing central bankers to print more money and helps keep us in the dream scenario discussed above.

Bitcoin is a safe haven and this Aids Swan is proving it. The halvening will only buttress our case for safe haven status as it will be hard to distinguish how much of our rise is due to a flight to safety and how much is due to the halvening. This will give the faithful (WO Elites an such) the opportunity to push whatever narratives we like with impunity and the masses will fall in line, because at the end of the day they love sick gainz above all else.

The MSM will actually imo prefer to give the Coronavirus credit for our incoming pump. Thats bc they don't like talking about the halvening too much since it makes the masses wonder why the fuck they are slaves to inflationary currency in the first place when the cool kids get their currency supply cut in half by computer algos. This MSM fear of deflation just plays into our hands bc newbs will find an infinite amount of disasters over the years to make them want more Bitcoin. They will misdirect, but we will win either way.

Most of the pump inducing scenarios mentioned above were not in play during the 2016 halvening. Central Bankers were looking for the first opportunity to raise rates. Stocks had been sideways for a year. Negative bond yields were not as widespread, and there was nothing comparable to the Coronavirus.

Prediction: 16100 is a minimum worst case scenario for this halvening pump and a more likely target is the old all time high of 20k. After this perhaps we go a bit higher but most likely it happens in a blow off top form and we get the predictable halvening crash from profit taking.

The profit taking would crash us to about 14k and then we build our way back up to all time highs again in several months, bc after all, its Bull $eason.

TLDR: New all time highs this summer.

This is absolutely investment advice. Sell your wife or your neighbors wife into sex slavery and buy Bitcoin for the ride to 100k and beyond.
Awesome post!  Agree with your thinkings. WO running the narrative for this one, niccce.   Grin

Surely Bitcoin is gaining popularity and last night's $68 billion injection isn't exactly inspiring confidence in the dollar either.  Watching this shit unfold, I wouldn't dare get caught without some BTC in such times.
Bitcoin, the only hedge that matters.

The recent events of the epidemic that has killed so many people in China, has caused many to put Bitcoin as a refuge from value.

Behold, according to some analysts, Bitcoin and Gold continue to rise despite the outlook in the world, some speak of correlation even.

It is well known that the correlation is low between the two .. only that it can be taken as an important fundamental that can be exploited in the market.

Correlating investing in safe haven assets during times of uncertainty is normal and it's an especially important place to watch with Bitcoin. The reality is that most of the world simply does not care about Bitcoin or much at all for that matter, all they want is to continue to live the 'normal' life they've been afforded for the past 7 decades or so.  It's my belief that harsh events must challenge the masses 'normal' way of living and force change. Bitcoin adoption as a safe haven asset will continue during global crisis but I'm afraid the absence of such events will allow the herd to slip back into an apathetic slumber.
It appears that greed has mostly powered the Bitcoin market thus far and as much as I'd like to think that it would be convenience that ushers it forward from here, fear is the more likely motivator.  Most great changes have been born of great tragedies. If Bitcoin is to be as revolutionary as we speak of, I don't see why it would be any different this time.
