Snip

**except fire ants (op pls nerf)

If it really does roaches I'm satisfied.

Foggers are good for mosquitoes and flying pests but not so much for cockroaches.  The insecticide doesn't get into the cracks and crevices... places the roaches hide.
Get a decent pump sprayer and some Deltamethrin.  It's best to spray again after 2 weeks so you get all the eggs that might hatch.  Used this on an apartment we stayed in a couple of years ago and it worked great.

Is this the stuff?   Cheesy

I am pretty sure you can game the tax systems by “earning” all your income while offshore or in a tax free jurisdiction  and not staying in any particular Western country for more than 179 days [does not work for US citizens]

So fly to Dubai to cash out your BTC and then go skiing for a couple of months, rinse repeat.
The problem that I have is specifically with owning property in that kind of situation. I don't want to go from hotel to hotel or Airbnb to Airbnb for the travel part. But if I could just own two houses and have each of them set up as a fully functional base then I would be perfectly happy to just fly over from one to the other every 6 months. Just haven't found anything specific regarding this edge case yet.

Yup, 6 months here 6 there is pretty ideal. I've been doing perpetual summer for the better part of 20 years and its worked out very well.
Depending on the country, ownership of land or house can get tricky, especially in SE Asia it has a particular set of headaches. I prefer to rent/lease long term in Asia which also gives me the option to pick up and go much easier if needed and own in the countries which I have citizenship.

Even if parts of bitcoin were centralized, we'd still achieve trust and a degree of transparency which is light-years ahead of a legacy government controlled debt-slavery coin.

I would like a place with nice weather Wink where I may eventually retire.
The whole ERTH thing started to get on my nerves. Too much crap all over.
I would like to have an ability to be left pretty much alone with my immediate family, yet maintain some western style comforts.
Too much to ask?

There's still yet a few warm places that haven't been severely exploited. Tick-tock... start now!

In other news from on the ground, I asked local gold shop (who's main business is currency exchange) if they'd accept BTC. She met me with a  Wink Maybe.
Here it comes!  One year ago they hadn't even heard of it.

Sorry to be missing the capitulation lately, been away enjoying life.
A friend just sent this to me and thought I'd leave it here.  Not that we should expect the same but I thought it was an interesting comparison.
HODL is still strong around these parts!

Nice graph, so it appears we're still on the runway and 2019 is lift off.
1109  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 17, 2018, 02:48:13 AM
didn't read the whole thing but depents on witch kind of booze .... there are some pricey bottles of booze on the market Wink

Seriously - I'll throw 0.5 BTC for libations towards the $100k party. 0.5 BTC == 0.5 BTC after-all, right ? I'm playing with that much for my Lightning nodes, so it seems fair to "blow the other 0.5 on crazy party shit" - to my mind.

Already making more promises? But this one's for really reals right?
1110  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 15, 2018, 02:19:04 AM
Alright, PM'ed but no blindfolds dude. I wouldn't want to miss the show  Wink

Uhh. Wow. So he PM'd me his address.

 Shit just got real.

So I guess now is a bad time to say "I was just kidding guys !", huh ?

I don't think I've ever fucked up a "hunch" with Bitcoin this badly before...

 Sad

But its not my address, just one of the many places I can receive mail.
Just an integrity check is all  Wink but ya, I do like scotch.

Bob,   I'm ready for that drink. Single malt kinda guy. A shot of Dalmore is high on the bucket list or a older Balvenie might be just as nice. I'll do my best not to get any bitcoiner tears in it.

Sheeit  Embarrassed

Ok. PM me your meatspace address. Do you want to supply the blindfold, or should I ?

Alright, PM'ed but no blindfolds dude. I wouldn't want to miss the show  Wink

I can see 8000 where I will purchase another $100k Of BTC. What is your plans?

On top of buying drinks for the entire thread, I'll suck your dick if we see $8,000 USD/BTC this year.

You can quote me on that.

And this is exactly why I want BTC. The issuing bank is TD in Canada although I haven't confirmed the block with TD yet.  See ya coinbase, not sure I'll exactly miss you.

Target 9300?  I think this will bounce anyhow. Sell pressure is strong. Whatever, good night from Vietnam, let's see what's happening in 12 hours. This dump is focused on north America.

Maybe the price is staying in this range because most of the newcomers since December bought between 15-19k range. There's a big percentage waiting to break even and perhaps exit after realizing that they don't have the stomach for volatility. Whales may be teasing the price to an "acceptable Loss" range before an eventual retest of the ath. Who knows when that'll be but I suspect it'll be when nobody longer believes it can get there again. Rinse and repeat to new ath perhaps.

I wish I could go more than half a day without checking on price. And I don't even trade so it's of no consequence to me other than excitement of a pump or btfd.

Personally, I'm in the camp of believing the shootings and most other "terror acts" are manufactured by the state.  Sure, all the medication people take now days is likely a large contributor if it's not entirely manufactured but I'm still leaning towards a state manufactured agenda. Seriously, are shootings just getting popular with the youth like eating Tide balls? Common, I truly don't believe so many people are slipping on the same banana.
History does not repeat but it rhymes. You think we could have gotten support to invade the Middle East without 9/11? And they're still there?
I call BS

Happy Monday Morning from Bali.
Buy orders are stacking up again on stamp. 78 million and counting.  I'm feeling a 12K shot soon.
1119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 04, 2018, 02:32:55 PM
Reality is: bitcointalk was getting more popular but shittier posts were filling page after page. The merit system was to encourage posters to have "merit-able" posts and contribute more to the community.  For now its just hot air with no incentive beyond leveling up like in a video game.  If you've got something good to say or have some entertainment value, yeah, we will read it.

I say we tokenize merits with some real world value. That would get the ball rolling in here. Steemit? Or since we're a BTC community, maybe we could open a channel on the LN network and issue xxx Satoshi's instead of WOsMerits?  I'm sure we could get donations for such a cause.
I'm actually surprised this doesn't already exist here.  Anyone talented at drafting proposals?

Yeah, let's do a whitepaper and an ICO lol

Seriously now, I think the Merit system is working but the effects will take some time to notice. Here in the WO we are somewhat inmune to what happens in most of the rest of BT. Pointless shitposts are everywhere. They just open hundreds of pointless new threads like:

- Will Bitcoin go up or down?
- Will Bitcoin reach 12K in two weeks?
- Why is Bitcoin going up?
- Why is Bitcoin going down?
- Why is Bitcoin not going up?
- Why is Bitcoin not going down?
- Why is Bitcoin not going up or down?
- etc etc...

A full fucking thread for each of those pointless questions.... and then, you see tens of pointless posts "answering" the question with absolutely no real reasoning. Everything to increase the post/activity count to rank up and join signature campaigns.

It's disgusting.

Maybe now, when they start to notice their previous modus operandi is not giving them the expected results (rank up) they will back off and the number of pointless shitposts will reduce significantly.

Yeah, here we do also have our own offtopic, sometimes even pointless but humorous posts, but it is all mostly done in good faith and not just for the sake of increasing post count.

I don't really think there is a need to incentivise the "accumulation" of Merits. It's usefulness is more as a deterrent for shitposters to keep with their (now) pointless activity than for regular good standing members to seek them for really no reason.

Also, if Merit had any real "value" people would start trading them.... overriding it's intended purpose.

I wasn't really suggesting to do an ICO. Actually far from it. I do see where you're coming from and I still think it would serve us and the entire community. If we actually USED BTC within BT (wow mind blown), supporting LN while incentivizing quality posts, new participants to join, etc.
I'd prefer to see something along the lines of.... (simple version)
*BTC donated
*Satoshi's issued to members under a smart contract where they can only be given to other members but not withdrawn to an address.
*Only Satoshi's that have been given can be withdrawn or re-given freely

OK, I do see where this could get taken advantage of but but... steemit did it?
